Pros: It was a perfect place for us to stay in Giverny. The property owners, Maryla and Gills were great hosts. They were so friendly, engaging and helpful. They were simply amazing. The property was great too !! Wonderfully furnished and maintained, to the highest possible standard You can tell that they were very house-proud and wanted to ensure their guests are well taken care of. The garden was wonderful. Beautiful flowers abound and so relaxing for us. The location is in a quiet area and quite convenient as it is only 10 minutes way from Giverny.( by car) So you have the peaceful surroundings coupled with easy access to Giverny. We highly recommend this property to all!! We will be back, for sure.
Cons: Nothing really . everything was perfect.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Perfect hosts, huge room and bathroom, high quality decoration, oak floor, phantastic and large bed, immaculate cleanliness, excellent breakfast with nearly ten different selfmade marmalade’s and more. What can we say: just great! Got good tips re restaurants. Our favorite was in Vernon: L'estampille by Erisay, 6 Place de Paris. From Saint-Marcel you can explore the southern part of Normandy. And you can cycle along the river to Monsieur Claude Monets Garden, La Roche-Guyron etc.
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: We stayed here with my family from Malaysia to visit the garden in Giverny 10mins away by car). Maryla and her family gave us a warm welcome to their tastefully decorated home. The rooms are large and extremely clean with super comfy and long beds. The breakfast was carefully prepared, extensive and delicious. The beauty of the stay was accentuated by our access to such a lush and lovely garden with cherries from the trees for degustation. Maryla's daughter serenaded us with her skilled piano playing and the overall experience is just remarkable. Very accessible to restaurants and supermaket by foot. Our many thanks to the family and hope this B&B will prosper and continue to be successful!
Cons: Can't think of anything.

The hostess also knew a great deal about the area and she was able to provide very useful information. We will certainly return again.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful property situated just off the main road and a short walk to the river Seine which is well maintained by the owners. It’s pale grey and white shabby chic French interior is stylish and fitting for the property. On arrival we were asked what we would like for breakfast we settled for a French breakfast of yoghurt, cheese, bread, pastries, jams and brownies. I’m sure if we wanted a cooked breakfast it would have been provided. The homemade brownies were to die for. The room on the top floor of the house with exposed beams was large with a comfortable bed. It shares a living area and bathroom with another bedroom but we had the whole floor to ourselves as no one else was booked in. Water, tea and coffee making facilities along with madeleines were provided. The bathroom had plenty of soft towels and handmade French soap and toiletries. The owners recommended local restaurants for dinner booking one for us in Giverny which is close by. Her local knowledge is excellent giving us plenty of travel tips for our visit to Versailles the next day. Whilst the owners english was limited her daughter was there to greet us with her mother and translate for the best communication a family that clearly have a passion for the local area and their home.
Cons: It was a bit difficult to work out how to get in and we had to wait a while for the owner to come to the small gate to greet us then open the gates further down the road for us to drive in an park.

Pros: breakfast was enormous and well presented. Rooms were spacious , elegant and serene.

Pros: The location was peaceful. The hosts were very pleasant and welcoming. They recommended a restaurant and booked a table for us also which was great. The breakfast was lovely, a lot of effort had gone into presentation.
Cons: In hindsight for us, the location was a little remote and too far away from restaurants as we had to drive to reach there.

Pros: Hosts are excellent. They are very kind and willing to help.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The kindness of our hosts was exceptional. The suite of two rooms and bathroom were large, comfortable and wonderfully traditional. We have two children under 6, our whole family was made to feel very welcome. The children were free to play in the large garden, on the trampoline, in the small swimming pool and drive a go cart around the old tennis court. They recommended the restaurant opposite which served superb food. We enjoyed breakfast with our hosts, which was an amazing spread of croissants and many other fresh breads served with home made jams, hot milky chocolate in bowls, cereals, fresh juice and coffee. They gave us tips on where we might visit once we reached our destination in the Loire (we has a great time at the Zoo in Beauval). The space for parking was ideal behind high locked gates. We only stayed for one night but our children wanted to stay all week! We would definately return for a stop over if travelling further south in the future. Thank you for our wonderful stay!

Pros: The owner of the hotel was very friendly. The atmosphere in the hotel and around it is relaxing. There weren’t any mosquitoes despite the little pond and the garden around the hotel- it was so nice to sleep with open windows. The breakfast was amazing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed the surrounding countryside - this is a tranquil and safe environment to relax in. Agnes, our wonderful hostess, was entertaining and helpful above and beyond anything we'd experienced. What an unexpected find - this charming farmhouse and surrounding buildings have been developed by Agnes with passion; she has created quirky, individual and eclectic designs, almost theatre settings - a joy to explore every corner! Breakfasts were laid back and delicious: homemade breads and pastries, jams, cheeses and newly laid eggs.....and more. We were a group of eight friends - we were made to feel so welcome and had great fun! We arrived on the hottest July day recorded and offered a hosepipe to douse ourselves down with and then left to chatter beside the garden pond into the wee hours to our hearts' content. Fantastic!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We stayed here as a base for visiting Giverny and then catching a flight from Charles de Gaulle. Giverny is close by, and CDG was 1.5 hours on the toll free roads. It was easy to check in and out. Parking is behind a secure gate. The garden was the perfect place to relax in the afternoon. Food is available at Vernon, about ten minutes down the road with easy parking in the evenings. The host was lovely, and provided a wonderful breakfast. Thanks for our stay and the advice on where to go in Paris on our next visit.
Cons: It's a little tricky exiting the property because of the blind corner, but the mirrors help and drivers are very courteous.

Pros: The historic property was unique and beautiful, the proprietor was lovely, and the location was a peaceful promenade to the Giverny gardens.

Cons: A very minor detail I would change is to have some way of controlling the water from splashing out of the shower area onto the bathroom floor.

Pros: Lovely location in the beautiful Eure Valley, great bathroom. Really friendly hosts and a great breakfast with a tame hen! Owners are happy for you to use their swimming pool and outdoor kitchen.
Cons: Check in time at 6pm (possibly only if mid week) is much later than usual and meant we had to replan our day / journey from the Loire. This was not made clear on booking.com until confirmation email / exchange with owners. The bedroom was quite hot as no window, only a french door. We would have asked for a fan if staying a second night. Bed a little too hard for us, but fine for a one night stay.

Pros: It's a treat to stay in such a grand house, which is so well cared for, and beautifully adapted to guests. The dining room and lounge room are just magnificent; upstairs, the beds are comfortable and the bathroom facilities work well. It's lovely to see gorgeous murals and antique furnishings and ambience in bucketloads. Breakfast was beautiful fresh fruit, lovely croissants, fresh yoghurt, and the view over the 11 hectares of the property. How often do you get to stay in a place where there is a shrine to a 12th century saint? Paul is a very kind host.
Cons: Nothing to dislike, it was all just beautiful. Though if you prefer tv in your room to gorgeous antiques, this is not your kind of place.

Pros: Beautiful old castle in a stunning location. Very friendly welcome from Paul.
Cons: The castle is old so one must take this into an account but would like to have had better bathroom facilities.... no shower, just an attachment to the bath. Maybe I should have known this in advance but made washing my hair difficult. Not a major problem though - and if you’re ready for that - the bath itself was delightful.

Pros: Idyllic location and how special to have the opportunity to stay in such a beautiful Château. Recommend booking breakfast it was delicious!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a fantastically beautiful and intriguing property with gorgeous views of the River Seine and Normandy countryside. The breakfast is worthy of the Ritz and the property is perfectly located for exploring Monet's Giverney and making day trips to Paris. The hosts are a most charming couple and I felt like I was residing within the pages of a French history book, while having all modern conveniences including fast wifi.
7.5 Good
Pros: The Chateau is a grand property with an interesting history. It is set in a pretty wooded area with walking paths which was wonderful. The view across the river and to the town beyond was nice. Breakfast (an extra charge for this) was perfect and it always makes a day easier when you can eat before you head off for the day. Location with proximity to Giverny is ideal. The proprietor was very friendly and helpful. While the chateau was impressive it looked quite "tired." Bedspreads and chairs (or chair upholstery) need to be replaced to give it a more welcoming feeling. I'm fine with re-using the bed linens for a two-night stay but would have appreciated new towels each day. Our room did not have a shower (bathtub with hand held nozzle) and we would have preferred a shower but it was fine otherwise. In-room or coffee/tea self-service in a shared area would have been a nice touch.
Cons: See above

Pros: Me and my wife stayed two nights in Maison in Normandie in early July. The location of this place is just perfect for example if one wishes to visit Giverny. Once we arrived, Isabel was welcoming us, showed our room and introduced the details. Everything is clean and fresh. The rooms (including the breakfast room) have been decorated with good taste. Over the welcoming drinks we were delighted to learn among the other things that there is a nice restaurant at the bank of river Seine, less than 5 minutes’ walk from Maison in Normandie. We had two very enjoyable dinners there and it seemed to be very popular place among the locals - always a good sign in France and everywhere else. Breakfast was very good and healthy, all fresh and homemade. We also had a change of enjoying some Portuguese specialties which we highly appreciated. In the final day, we enjoyed the possibility of late check out that Isabel herself suggested for us. What a perfect and relaxing way of ending our holiday in France. Isabel is a fantastic, energetic, helpful and genuinely friendly lady. We really enjoyed our stay and very strongly recommend this place for the future quests.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful owners. Nothing was too much trouble.
Cons: There was nothing we really hated. However our taste would have been a WC upstairs where the bedroom was.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place! Isabel the host is very warm and hostpitable. The beds are high comfort, and the breakfast local products and french specialties. Very nice pool and a plus with a baker across the street and restaurant by the River Seine few minutes walk away.

Pros: Our accommodations were excellent, the decor was beautiful, the setting was in the gorgeous French countryside, our hostess (Isabel) was so very friendly with top notch hospitality. The breakfast was more than plentiful & a beautiful array of French selections. We would highly recommend this B&B

The setting is bucolic and exceptionally quiet; there are two very comfortable rooms, each with a private bathroom, and a charming shared sitting room. Guests are welcome to stay for one or several nights. A delicious breakfast includes homemade jam and yoghourt, and some days a cake or pastry, depending on the “inspiration of the moment”. Guests have their own car park and garden. There is 3 independent rooms: THE GARDEN'S ROOM 80 euros/night, THE WOOD'S ROOM 75 euros/night, & THE LILAC'S ROOMLilac room 65 euros/night, all tax and breakfast includes.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful country cottage amongst the trees. Breakfast was brought on a tray every morning by our hostess. Croissants, fresh baguettes, jams and marmalade with coffee and tea. Perfect. Weather was a bit unreliable so we spent more time in the cottage than in the picturesque garden. Good sized bedrooms and bathrooms.
Cons: Very minor. We have a large car. Getting through the entrance gate was a little awkward until we discovered that the best way was to pass the first, actual, entrance and turn round in the one 100 yards further up the hill. Then it was much easier.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Quiet location
Cons: Small kitchen/lounge

Cons: A good place to eat and break the journey from England to the south of France
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked everything! On the river, very quiet, clean and very comfortable room, a nice patio, and the restaurant food was excellent!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was our first visit to Les Canisses for a few years. The property has been extensively renovated and modernised since our last stay with excellent results. It was an extremely hot (40+C) day and night so finding the room had air con was a real blessing. Just as we were about to go to dinner there was a fierce thunderstorm which drove everyone inside the restaurant. The staff coped very efficiently. We had an excellent meal at a very reasonable price. The location on the river bank is lovely. We'll definitely be back. There are so many nice and interesting places to see along this beautiful part of the Seine within a few miles drive of Les Canisses.
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location right on the banks of the river Seine. Great outdoor space. Friendly staff. The restaurant is wonderful.
Cons: There is a train track right behind the hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: the placement was very nice close to the Seine, nice people, good dinner and nice breakfast! I recommend this hotel for sure, thanks ...!
Cons: We did not have soap in the bathroom, I think that they could do a refreshment of the room (quick repainting)...!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location charming staff excellent food.
Cons: Location was hard to find.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The service and the staff. Great location Very good food. Great local beer Very good breakfast selection. My 3rd visit And will return again
Cons: Toilet in room a little small
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location by Seine River. Such a peaceful place, perfect for a weekend getaway. Also it was nice to see that its restaurant is a popular option for locals, too.
Cons: As the food is cooked in the open fire in the middle of the restaurant (which we actually found very authentic), there is a smoke smell which also sticks on you.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Liked the location by the Seine, nice and quiet. Restaurant was excellent and really a good price for we had. Rooms were basic, but a good contemporary feel. Modern bathroom and clean
Cons: The only thing I could say that was negative was the 2nd night in the restaurant, they were really busy, but we are still customers and I don’t like my wine slammed on the table,
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Cozy country style hotel by an arm of the river Seine. Ask a room in 2nd floor with view. The attached restaurant is one of the best in Vernon-Giverny area. A great deal.Calm
Cons: Steep stairs, no elevator. Tiny bathroom.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly! Comfortable clean rooms and great breakfast!
Cons: Restaurant was closed. Didn't expect that on a Saturday evening. After an 8 hr drive, last thing we wanted was to get back in the car!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stayed here about 8 years ago (another business trip, with a colleague) arriving very late, so access via door code and straight to bed - no sampling of "Le repas du soir". This time I tried "le dîner" and it was excellent, as was the conversation. Many thanks
Cons: Bathroom mirror light too dim. Not that I like looking at my face, but shaving would be easier with better lighting. Very little flat surface area for working (e.g. laptop computer). Hard floors transmit every accidental noise to adjoining rooms. This is clearly a "boutique" hotel - not that there is anything wrong with that, but it has set the style - which mostly works well, but very occasionally it doesn't.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Parking. Evening meal. friendly staff
Cons: area from Vernon centre
7.5 Good

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location, very clean, excellent food, lovely friendly and helpful staff
Cons: Bed a bit hard for me
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was very clean. The location is convenient to the highway, but it is a long walk to restaurants.
Cons: The restaurant was closed for dinner on a Saturday night. I'm not sure if the closure was temporary, or permanent. We walked to Le Loft for a great dinner. The automatic window shade did not work. The in room heater did not work, The towel heater in the bathroom did not work. The internet was slow. Breakfast is very overpriced.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Ideal for Giverny. Very good for parking. One of the best family run hotels that we have stayed in for a long time. The pink and very dark blue decor can be classed as un-settling on the web-site, but when you arrive, it does work and gives it a boutique feel. Restaurant food is not quite Michelin, but it is defiantly going in the right direction and enjoyable it is. Breakfast is good with a large choice and plenty to enjoy. If you are seeking an 18th century Manor House next door to Monet’s house and garden, then don’t stay here, you won’t get it. But if you want very friendly hosts that make you very welcome and work hard at making your stay as good as it can be and all at a reasonable price, then DO stay here.
Cons: You need to have a car to get here and out and about. Restaurant closed on Sundays, but this can be expected in France, therefore that was not a great surprise, though, it re-enforces need for a car. Bedrooms are not the biggest, though very adequate if you are out and about most of the day.
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast superb - really good buffet style spread - quite expensive but worth it. Restaurant - evening meals also very good. Staff very kind when one of us not well overnight. No English spoken but that was fine. Good supermarkets within easy reach.
Cons: Place was closed (could get a pass number to get to our rooms) during afternoon - but during this time couldn't get even a cup of coffee - bar closed, no machine, no tea/coffee making in the rooms. Some tables/chairs outside - nice but no shade.

Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good with a large choice. The location was perfect with easy parking. The room was very comfortable, clean and tidy.
Cons: There is nothing that I can think off that I didnt like.
7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast and the bar were fine & the location ideal for visiting Giverny (Monet's Garden & the surrounding area.)
Cons: The underground car park was difficult to exit (sharp, steep blind left hand turn to reach the garage door which had to be activated at the bottom of the slope). Very little storage space in the bedroom (clothes had to remain in the case) & the over bath shower (under the sloping roof) did not have a screen or curtain, which resulted in a wet bathroom.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff very pleasant and helpful and the location near the river was good.
Cons: The lack of air conditioning was the major drawback during such a heatwave. The breakfasts were rather crude with over ripe fruit lumped under a cover. Coffee machine not working well
7.5 Good
Pros: location was good, hotel was clean and tidy,
Cons: the breakfast was a bit basic, fruit was not appetising, all bruised. could do with fans or air conditioning
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable beds, clean room with a view. Restaurant was excellent , reception knowledgable of local area . Good value fir money delightful town , 10 minute walk to station
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I love that the hotel is in the middle of town and is mostly full service. The receptionists were really great and spoke English very well. One of them called a cab for me and tried to locate a phone charger (not found) for me to use.
Cons: It would have been nice to have a phone charger (Android) but that is not really their fault at all. I would recommend that they install air conditioning and have the restaurant open on Sundays if at all possible. The breakfast buffet was very slim with no variety from day to day. The eggs and bacon were strange, but maybe that is the French way of cooking eggs and bacon. The sausages were also like hot dogs.
5.0 Okay
Cons: Car park difficult. Poor service and food in restaurant. Overall very disappointed. Staff not welcoming. Breakfast ok.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff
Cons: Noisy sometimes at night because of its location.

6.8 Good
Pros: Staff
Cons: No room clean on last day. No kettle in rooms. Bedroom door left unlocked after clean.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The people at reception were all friendly and helpful. The grounds of the hotel are lovely: shady and quiet, very pleasant for relaxing at the end of the day. The breakfast was good. Our room was quiet and clean, and the bathroom facilities were modern and convenient.
Cons: There were some incorrect charges on our bill, but the mistakes were easily resolved.
5.8 Okay
Pros: we liked the setting and location of the facility. The staff was pleasant. A restaurant on hotel grounds was available which made it more comfortable.
Cons: No air conditioning, nor fans. Two dorm windows of which only one could be opened. Windows had no screens, so bugs have easy access to the room.
7.5 Good
Pros: We fancied the idea of a chateau stop on the way down to Brittany, chose this place as it was about half way. Good choice in the end. It’s a little rural but the room was nice and comfortable, good shower, nice and clean. Restaurant was good, slightly limited selection of dishes but we were only there fir one night.
Cons: Rural aspect, not really near to a town for other restaurants etc.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location. Building looked like a postcard. Attendant was very helpful and nice to ask about a restaurant reservation.
Cons: I know it was unseasonably hot at 95 degrees but the room was incredibly hot. Hard to sleep and too hot to enjoy the beautiful facility the way I had hoped.

Pros: Had character. Staff friendly. Restaurant very good.
