Its location in the city and the parking The bed was too soft and the bathroom was not clean (champignons)
Secure parking. Good restaurant, well frequented.
in the middle of the city no
nice hotel room, very clean, well decorated, very modern.Hotel cituated in the center of the city, well located, Parking available, but not suitable (procedure, available spaces, to narrow...) Breakfast room too small, no privacy since other people were placed at your table. Poor parking facility.
quiet rooms although in the heart of the city next to busy taffic roads, clean rooms, air conditioning in all rooms No variation at all in breakfast during 7 days stay / issues about car parking (moving of cars to allow other visitors to leave earlier, ...)
The lovely, deep bath!
We reserved a non smoking room but were given a smoking one. We were moved to a non smoking room, but were downgraded so the room was not as nice. You could barely shut the bathroom door as it banged into the toilet. The air conditioning did not work so we could not sleep due to the heat. This is a shame as the hotel itself is really nice
hemquality of the breakfast and the friendly service at reception The cost of having to park a car on top of the accomodation costs
Secure parking, although a bit expensive Bathroom was spacious but not exactly clean
very secure car park and excellent breakfast reception etc good the floors due to the age of the hotel were up and down and not ideal for my wife with a walking disability there was no baggage trolley for moving luggage to the room
Breakfast was fairly good according to french standards, the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. No airco in our bedroom.
I liked the accessibility to the city and the regular train line. Staff was very helpful No
Friendly staff, one of which upgraded our room (at no extra charge) on account of our little one. Parking was a nightmare near the hotel so we took advantage of the hotel's secure parking (8 euros)
Its location was excellent for walking around town.
Nothing Noisy, dirty, in disrepair (shower, bed, tv, heating)
Availability of private car parking area Breakfast was somewhat chaotic
Staff very helpful and friendly especially given that it was an onvernight stay which helkped us make the most of it. None worth mentioning
Easy to find, nice quiet room (as requested)
It was very easy to get to from the train station.
Comfatable for a family whilst staying overnight during travel. Not English speaking at all but personally i think this is nice
It was very peaceful and quiet. Exactly what we wanted after 4 days in Paris. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the wine on offer. The apartments are very modern and the beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept in. We spent 4 days there but could have stayed considerably longer.
I missed a restaurant
A very peaceful stay and very comfortable beds. Studio well designed. Breakfast delivered to our door was a treat! Shame there is no restaurant.
The relax atmosphere, nice environment in the wine yards and the festivity of two musicians on Friday evening No
Incredible castle located in the heart of Burgundy. Historical monument where modernism perfectly harmonize with the ancient. Apartment was like the work of art, very large and comfortable. Stuff - open and helpful. Golf club reachable in just 5 minutes. The price is more than adequate, because for us, it was more than just a hotel, the spirit lives there. Thank you for making our holidays more special as well as this beautiful region . PS. The castle vine is perfect :)
Very professional staff. Excellent restaurant
Room, service and breakfast excellent, as always. I have been wondering for years now why the food in all the Novotel restaurants (called Coté Jardin) is so bad and overpriced. Could the Novotel management please decide to turn all the Cotés Jardin into nice brasseries with good food at an affordable price? The faithful Novotel customers would thank you from the bottom of their hearts!
this was an average hotel but the location was good for us as it was right off the highway. the service at the restaurant was very slow and the food was not very good. The beds were not very comfortable.
it was noisy in the night, the food was a bit dry and cold
Ease of access from Motorway. Poor quality of food, i.e. overcooked and cold. General service in restaurant I would consider poor.
A convenient hotel, (stopover on journey to Provence). We like Novotel for it's consistent quality & comfort etc. The cuisine! Nothing changes really! Poor choice, expensive & could be better.
Well-equipped, helpful staff, easy to find, convenient. Room in good order. Nice breakfast. Why do you require a minimum number of words?
Very convenient for the trip to Italy. Just of the motorway but no road noise at all. The last time I stayed at this hotel was some 12 - 15 years ago. It still looks and feels the same as it did then with little or no updates. On my return to the uk we stayed at Reims Novotel. A much nicer and more modern hotel and room. Again I had stayed there before , however this hotel has moved with the times and has adjusted to the modern needs.
coffee making facitilties; gated parking very poor and overpriced breakfast
Quality/Price ok. Nice view from the rooms and breakfast area. very helpfull personal, on our departure, they recomand us to visit Cluny, which was a very good choice, to get the fealing of old time France. Thank you.
Secure car park and friendly staff
restuarant was closed - it would have been nice to know that in advance
The location. The air conditioning system was completely insufficient and even setting the system at 15 degrees we were unable to cool the room down. This was very disappointing considering how much we paid to stay at the hotel
It is very difficult to write 15 wards about things I liked about this hotel. I think it is possible, that is the worst value for money hotel that I have stayed in. Where do I start? Steep steps up to reception - very friendly. Room uncomfortably hot, bath-room grubby. Hot food at breakfast, finished at 9.45am, when breakfast finished at 10.30. Toilets for general use, by the reception, were disgusting at10.00am and when I reported it to the receptionest was told they were clean at 8.00am. I also noticed the disabled toilet is down a steep flight of stairs. I did ask to speak to the manager and was told - He was on holiday!!
The receptionist was very welcoming; we liked the decor and the atmosphere and we enjoyed the breakfast. It was easy to find the hotel and the surroundings were very pleasant.
The reception clerk was particularly helpful and drew us a map of the restaurant we wished to go to.The situation of the hotel near the River Saone was excellent. The area was quiet at night and we felt safe walking back to the hotel at night. Macon is a clean city with beautiful flowers and a "romantic garden" walk near the river.
Staff were very friendly, especially the restaurant waitress. Our room was very warm when we arrived. Outside temp was close to 30C, room not much different. Someone from reception came up to take a look at the air con, said to turn it right down (to 15C). This we did but no joy. Complained next day again, was promised an air con engineer would come up to room. No sign of said person. Another uncomfortable night, and when complained once more, was told that we could have been offered another room if we had complained at time of checking in! Were offered a 10% discount for one night only as compensation.
enough parking places in front of the hotel; very friendly staff that speaks very good English; recommended only for passing. room and bathroom very small; much too small double bed; not a single German television channel; no toilet broom; the maintenance of the breakfast buffet were very sloppy, the price is too expensive.
Free wifi Bathroom dirty Restaurant closed
Hotel clean excellent selection of breakfast - tea and coffee facilities in rooms No bad points really
The hotel was easy to find and included free parking. The staff were very friendly and tried there best to speak English. The location was quiet. You have to hold the shower because there was no where to clip it on the wall. The pillows were a bit small.
It was good to reach it after a long journey and it is pleasantly situated with open country view to the rear. The dining facilities are basic but acceptable. Not really. Maybe a wee bit impersonal appart from the reception.
We arrived at the hotel at 4.30p.m. on Sunday afternoon and it was closed. A note on the door said to enter our booking confirmation number. This was not acknowledged. We then had to ring an emergency number and 10 minutes later someone arrived but the hotel booking no. was not compatible with the booking com no. We paid for the room and breakfast via a machine and a key dropped down with a room number on it. Although the bed was clean the room was tired and toit was 38degrees we had to open the window and the room was filled with small flies because there were horses in the field to the rear. We discovered that the restaurant was closed and there was nowhere in the vicinity to get a meal because it was an industrial area. The above says it all. We went for breakfast the following morning and left without even seeing a receptionist. Needless to say we will not be returning.
Food reasonable but not spectacular; room cheap; one member of staff very helpful Room very basic; one member of staff not very helpful
It had beds to fall asleep on and a shower sort of, so we were just about able to get clean and have a sleep. The hotel was absolutely filthy, the room was inhabited by half the local spider population, which obviously didn't bother housekeeping in the slightest, the maid decided to come into the room one morning, she didn't even bother to knock first! Just opened the door and started coming in till she realised we was in there still. The shower only had a holder at bath level, really handy that, least it hooked in the towel holder.
Room are too small for 4 persons. Our 2 children had to sleep on matrasses laying on the floor. Kitchen staff stood smoking that's why we went somewhere else to eat.
Finding the hotel was a nightmare, the location information was poor in the extreme. On our second visit on the return journey the towels had a strange smell
Restaurant was ok. Rooms were very basic and old.
Cooling in the room The hotel was difficult to find, address information incorrect. The room was reasonable but not great for 2 adults and 3 kids. The building as a whole looks very worn down.
Nothing The staff were obviously over stretched and under staffed. Dinner was appalling, we did not get two of the orders we had placed, and it took three attempts before we were told that what we had ordered was not available. We accept that it had been a busy week end however the staff's response was down right rude and in the end we refused to pay for one of the meals.
good hotel for an overnight stopover en-route to Cote d Azure
We enjoyed a brief, but excellent stay. The owners could not have been more welcoming.
Fantastic, friendly owners/staff
Excellent staff who were very helpful. Good location on the river and close to the city centre. Rooms well decorated, cleand and with a spacious bathroom.
Design of the rooms, location, personal note
Lovely hotel in a nice situation. Superb rooms and facilities.
We found the hotel location great for exploring the Beaujolais. We were disappointed that our choices from the dinner menu were not available on 2 evenings.
the manager went out of his way to make our stay wonderful. NO other mortal could have been more helpful. All the staff were kind, caring and helpful. We even had an upgraded room at no extra cost.
In a very nice location, the owner of the Maritonnes are great. and I will return to see them if i pass again in the Beaujolais.
The food The room furniture
Room, patio and food were good. The front and reception area could be more attractive.
You feel at home. Very friendly.
Large room, & bathroom. Large & comfortable bed, nice garden view.+
This was a beautiful hotel. We booked an extra night as we were so impressed with it. We were upgraded to a superior room which was very spacious with balcony overlooking the balcony. I would thoroughly recommend the hotel. The dining room was excellent as well with a beautiful buffet breakfast. It is also easy to locate with good signage.
We like the Dutch couple who runs the Hotel of which we have visited from their start 11 years ago and they still remember us even though there has been a slip of 2-3 years no, but maybe it would help if the servants at the restaurant could speak better English
The manager was very nice and helpful, especially as I was from England The telephone in my room did not work. It was not 7 minutes from Macon station as stated, more like 27.
Functional and adequate with a most pleasent owner and a good breakfast.
Booked garden room thinking it sounded attractive, wrong! it was certainly a room off the garden but was dull, poorly fitted out and in fact quite depressing. The bathroom was clean but I didn't want to spend any time in there , the fittings were old and tired. In fact that sums up the whole place. We parked on the street as Monsieur seemed reluctant to show us the garage. Did not enjoy the walk into town after dark! There was an unpleasant smell in the public areas. Breakfast was definitely not worth the money.
The hotel was in very poor state of repair in fact I would say that there has been very little investment in the last 10 years. The shower didn't work well and the grouting around the shower tray was black with mould.
Cheerful fabric; window provided good air circulation, easy access to city centre; secure parking; quiet; helpful manager
No air conditioning!!
Quiet comfortable room, pleasant staff, good food and pichet wine at reasonable prices.
There are no places in the restaurant for the hotel guests because the hotel was overbooked!! We had booked breakfast, but there was no seats inside, we were asked whether we would like to cancel the breakfast, but we hold the breakfast and take place in the garden.
The restaurant was very good with local dishes superbly cooked and a good selection of local wines.
We were welcomed warmly on arrival by the owner Mme Despres. The hotel does not provide evening meals so Mme Despres recommended a local restaurant and kindly booked a table for us, The food there was was excellent. The hotel itself is high standard, in a nice setting and had comfortable beds . We did not have time to enjoy the pool or the sauna. We enjoyed our stay albeit brief. I would go back there.
A nice freindly quiet hotel in a lovely area of France. Shame there was no mresturant.
we liked the friendly approach of the staff , the position in the country and the closeness to Fleurie
The location in the vineyards and the owners attention to detail top quality linen and towels. A bonus on a very hot day was the delightful pool.
Excellent location, near the Fleurie village and vineyards, as well as others Beaujolais villages. Very calm. Good buffet breakfast. Free WiFi. Nice and strictly non smoking room. Cleanliness. Very nice stay. The hotel should offer some food to dinner. We suggested them to offfer a light menu, like soup or salads, and cheese and wine, of course..
everything very well maintained and an obvious attempt to meet every need. International newspapers etc. Very nice greeting from staff and willingness to serve.
The pool was great Extremely uncomfortable night due to heat. They could really improve the experience with air conditioning
Clean, welcoming small hotel on edge of town/village within easy walk of centre, rooms reasonable size, comfortable double bed
Very friendly; free WiFi
