9.7 Excellent (44 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The meals were superb and the hosts extremely friendly. The location is beautiful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was very serene and quiet. The hosts were very hospitable, welcoming us into their home. We used a paddle boat the first night on the lake which was pleasant. There are also canoes. We got a good tip to visit some river cascades after our visit to the zoo. The last day we had to leave very early to catch a flight. This was not a problem as the hosts got up at 5am to prepare breakfast. The breakfasts were very delicious as well. This is a good place for English travellers as we could communicate with the hosts no problem.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The surroundings were amazing. The view from the kitchen and the rest of the house was simply breathtaking. The breakfast was delicious and really generous. The host was super friendly and helpful.

Pros: Beautiful view of the river. Clean room with 2 beds. Good restaurants nearby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location right on the lake
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This motel showed 2 stars on the site, but this is very deceptive. The location directly on Lac St-Jean is incredible. Direct acces to the Véloroute des Bleuets bicycle path circling the lake, a 10 minute walk to the beautiful marina at Roberval, and minutes walk from restaurants. It is a very short drive (less than 10 minutes) to pharmacies, fast food chains and other restaurants. The building is neither old nor new, but immaculately maintained. The rooms are clean, comfortable and efficent. The staff is freindly and helpful. This is not a luxury hotel and does not pretend to be, but it is incredible value for the money. If the point of your trip is to visit Lac St-Jean, this is a brilliant place to stay. Did I mention the location?
Cons: Aside from the balcony being shared with all the other rooms on the top floor (people walking by your window), I can ind no drawback. If the balcony thing bothers you, request a ground-floor room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great view of beach and rooms over looking Lac St.Jean. With-in walking distance to many restaurants.

Cons: We thought that we were to get twin beds instead of a double.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The owner greased my bike gears and was very welcoming.
Cons: We had requested a room with two beds. We were assured that was the situation. We got a small room with one double bed. The owner put a mattress on the floor and gave me some sheets. The bathroom was shared between six people, that makes a long wait for the toilet in the morning. The breakfast was some cereal choices, bread to toast and coffee we could make. Usually in gîtes, the breakfast is prepared for you.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Huge room, polite staff and great breakfast.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Continental Buffet without fresh fruit but overall satisfactory. Pillows were too soft and lumpy to my liking. Guests in room above very noisy and child kept running throughout the room until 10:10 pm.
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: The worst séjour ever for us in Quebec. First of all, the online description, pictures etc. were so different from that we have found on scene that before leaving our car we checked twice if this was the hotel we had previously booked. In the middle of a commercial area our windows looked at some scary gravel road and it felt like we are in a thriller without any noise from inside the building. Our reception was more than cold but the staff in general is okay. The breakfast was disastrous: in the middle of the famed Lac Saint-Jean region at least some fresh blueberries should have been served. Plus, while having this 'unique' breakfast, the following message was 'shouting' at us from 3 different angles: Tip is not included in your final bill. A shame for the region's tourism.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast is continental everything you need is there. Location is great and the room was exactly what I was looking for.
7.9 Good
Pros: great for a one night stayover
Auberge de Jeunesse - Saint-Félicien - Building
15
7.4 Good (16 reviews)
5.4 Okay
Pros: The auberge is in a nice, quiet location a few minutes drive from the Lac St Jean, between St Felicien and St Prime. The air conditioning in the bedroom in particular was particularly appreciable to cool the room down before bedtime. The beds were very comfortable and the linen just right to keep warm. The kitchen was spacious and quite well-equipped. The owners were friendly and we were able to pick our own 'bleuets' from the field out back for free. It was great to be able to do some washing and the liquid was provided.
Cons: The four-person room had absolutely no place to hang any clothes, and there was nowhere to hang towels to dry either in the room or just outside it near the shared wash facilities. The wall finish in the room was made up of all kinds of finish which made for rather a messy overall effect. The bed bases looked very grubby and stained. The air conditioning in the kitchen which is really necessary with the huge windows that let in all the heat (no blinds or curtains) was not quite efficient enough for the size of the room whose doors to other parts of the hostel were often left open, and it was far too noisy to be left on if you wanted a conversation or to watch tv. There are far too many showers available for the number of guests, ie only two - one on each floor - to be shared by up to 14 people on the first floor alone. It's a shame there is no hairdryer on loan, or an iron, especially since the washing I carefull put on the line to dry while we were out (after checking it was okay to do so) was taken off by the owner to make room for other things but just left in a big ball full of creases...
