La Marina offers clean and friendly accommodation, the position in the marina is ideal for evening dining with many waterside restaurants within 400 yds. Some of the access slopes for wheelchairs are very steep with ledges so help may be required.
nice view and well placed in the city
Wo love the location and stayed at this hotel twice in 3 months. We paid extra for a marina view both times and will definitely book a marina view when we return next summer. The swimming pool is a good size with plenty of sun beds. The interior had been upgraded when we returned in August and it is lovely. The hotel is located in a very pretty marina with fantastic restaurants and the walk into Saint Raphael is about 15 minutes. The walk is beautiful with the sea is to your left for the whole walk in. Not anything that I didn't like but in August when we stayed, the pool area was not well maintained. Litter bins were overflowing and a few dirty cups and glasses were at the poolside for 3 days. You have to walk through a small area of water to clean your feet before entering the pool area but it was full of leaves, newspapers etc. I reported this however after 3 days and the full area was cleaned up and was well maintained after this. We didn't have any problems of this nature in June however so I would still return to this hotel. I am sure that this wasn't their usual standard and will be returning next year.
pleasant staff and air conditioned room
The service at the hotel was excellent as was the location, as the nane says its right next to a marina. We thought it was a bit over-priced.
neat hotel with a nice pool
the hotel locates at the seaside, the view is very beautiful. The room is clean, the Internet net, fitness, sauna, swimming pool are free. It's a good place for holiday, especially for a family. sometimes the seagulls make some noise at night.
Excellent desk service, very helpful
The friendly straff and facilities (swimming pool) Paying for parking
The area and location and the excellent service breakfast
Good hotel, enjoyed the location, just out of the hustle and bustle. A very pleasant walk.
room was good with view also resturant very good and parking facilities
We were very pleased with our ability to communicate our needs to the staff and having those needs met.
staff was very nice even though we did not speak French. Restaurant had good food and wine we could bring to our room. Clean pool and nice pool area, health/fitness area even though we had no time to use it.Acroos the street from Port Santa Lucia, with nice restaurants.Breakfast was abundant and gourmet, if you're hungry it could be worth the 12 or 15 Euros. Nothing, it was good location for us and clean. It is a 15 min walk to St Ralph center, for those with no car or who can't walk this may be a problem.
Hard to find in the dark
very close to the charming St Lucia port sea view from our room was not very good
Very close to everything - only a 10 min walk to the centre of town.
The food, service and the location of the hotel were excellent
Bathroom was nice and the balcony. It's good to have a restaurant in the hotel. We missed a fridge a lot. Room was quite small when travelling with a young children. Hotel is not a best option for families in my opinion.
the marina area close by
Location. Good for shopping, restaurants, beach, train and bus. Secure parking
Perfect location (close to sea, near a train station, restaurants and a shopping area). Helpfull staff. Scanty breakfast (add seasonal fruit, vegetables, pancakes and ext.)
It was an quit and nice hotel to stay
The staff was eager to please and helpful. Also the location was perfect near all the action and the beach! no alarm clock.
the friendly and helpful staff , the pleasant atmosphere and the cleanliness of the room and bathroom it was a pity that the little safe in the room was only available at extra cost
Good location (close to sea & 5 min to train station)/ Responsive personal in the reception Poor breakfast/ The nuisance in the room was old bed linen
The location was very good and the staff were very helpful. There was no restaurant and it was not possible to have breakfast outside.
Location only No relaxation area!
The reception staff were very helpfull, at all times, the location superb.
Helpful staff - relaxing atmosphere
Nice Hotel in some respects Advertised it was five minutes from beach but did not mention this was by car. It is more like 10 by car and if you did there was limited parking near the beach anyway. Since we had no car we had to rely on bus or walking which was about 45 minutes. Also at one time I wanted some information from the desk and the clerk interrupted three times to talk on cell phone until I finally walked away.
location, facilities found staff attitude a little frosty
The service at this hotel is at a high level. The staff (belgium lady) was super attent and all was good advised and settled. Rooms are excellent and the environment is just that what you need to have a excellent holiday. The breakfast (incl) was fantastic. Disappointed was that we could.t have diner in the restaurant (because full) and the lady overthere even not had the aim to offer us a table later at the evening.
The pool and the quiet location away from the seaside Very dated rooms, and an expensive cocktail bar without trained staff
Nothing!!! It was extremely unpleasant, to which we have complained. We are of the opinion that a three star hotel should not be presenting a room that still had the previous occupants underwear still within the bathroom. The pool and surroundings appeared littered with debris and in dire need of a clean and maintenance regime.
Very nice hotel, staff very good, friendly and helpful. Breakfast very nice.
Very friendly, helpful manager. Very good food, especially the breakfasts. Lovely pool and outside area for relaxing Room and general hotel decor and furnishings were dated. Situated on a main road, but luckily our room was on the quiet side.
The location, facilities and the restaurant The lack of staff in the bar and pool area
resturant /good chill out
The Location The hotel was nearly empty and as a result there were not many staff. We only saw two. The room needed some t l c and backed onto a main road which was noisy. Bathroom was poor. Also the hotel took €165.00 from my credit card on the day I booked. ( 24th Sept. ) This should not have been done as they should only do this If I do not turn up on the day .
Friendly staff, good location (outside of city), good facilities Rooms do need refurbishment; no satellite tv, no english channels, poor in-room equipment (none, in fact)
Wonderful house and domain. Very kind and helpful staff. Heated swimming pool. Service room.
Beautiful peaceful hotel on the edge of the mediteranean. Rooms could have a little more privacy.
The scenery/pool/cleanness This is not a 4 star hotel. It is like living in a student house again with a common room with a commom tv. Camping in a house, but with paying top price for breakfast and dinner. Bad mattress.
For a 3 star hotel very good. Free parking, free use of gym, spa, sauna and jacuzzi. 2 very clean and beautiful swimming pools. Very calme. Double bed is actually a kingsize bed!!! Balcony available in all rooms. No communal internet and you definately need a car to travel around to the city center.
The staff were extremely helpful albeit some had limited english. The room size, location and amenities suited our relaxing requirement. All bills were added to the room and not paid for at the time. Also, the price of drink was on the high side.
Nice location, Quiet, Good Facilities.Convenient for Motorway and local towns W.C. Flush unreliable
site, commodities, pool size of wc, awfully small... as in a plane..
Very good facilities for children for example, two very big swimming pools and lots of sun deckchairs. Front reception staff very rude.
I liked the gym and the sauna. The countryside atmosphere lent itself to relaxation and rest.
Nice location, quiet, free parking Bar closed early, no food available after 10pm, staff had little understanding of English, Receptionist unsure of checking in process, poor value for money.
Nice Golfhotel, with great service. The pool arera is great, and they its great for kids to.
This is a typical basic French Hotel. It is not luxurious but comfortable. Very well positioned for all the amenities ofd St Raphael and reasonable value for money. The plumbing was very strange and however hard we tried we could not have a shower without flooding the bedroom!!
Kindness of hotel staff construction quality: condense water of air-conditioning caused damage to inner ceilings.
the concierges where very friendly and we had a lovely terrace i didnt like the hill i had to climb up and down every day and i didnt like the fact that their breakfast where 14 euros each, versus 5-9 euros in other hotels.
Positive welcome, arrived 10;30pm. Comfortable bed. Value for money particularly the inclusion of breakfast in the price.
The location was great and it was not a problem to park outsite the hotel ( it was free on Sunday) The room was facing the street and was too noisy to open the window at night
reception staff helpful, decent breakfast Rather noisy location
Closeness to train, bus, shops, beach, restaurants and friendliness and helpfulness of staff. Breakfast could perhaps heve been a bit more varied.
central to everything in st raphael no problem with room but a lingering smell in hotel corridors akin to body odour
proximity of the train station. I would suggest that a map or indications how to get there from the train station would be useful
Staff Room decor / towels
Nice and friendly atmosphere. Spacious clean room and nice terrace.Good breakfast. Evening diner good value for money. Centrally locateed for beach, Esterel mountains and Saint Raphael down town.We will certainly come back here
I really liked the location next to a golf course and therefore far from the hectic lie of the seaside
very spacious room, nice mini spa area. good location breakfast was overpriced
Swimming pool, service, restaurants, rooms with balcony, cleanliness, etc. We can definitely recommend this hotel. It is too far from the beaches to walk
We were on honeymoon and as i know France fairly well, avoided the tourist traps of the sea front - we ate where the French people eat - I would advise anyone with a hire car to go to Mons and arrive in time for lunch. Food in the region incredible. Best Western has short game area and driving range which whilst were not in great condition made up for it by being next to hotel. golf course great for beginner golfers. Pool is not suitable for lap swimmers as is too small - apart from this reviews on web are good and fair. For golfers - i am 10 handicap and have to say the golf courses i tried were more than ok scenery-wise but were in poor condition for better golfers. Eg, Nearby Estel greens were great but fairways just mud. (in fairness they did heavily discount so i didn't mind and used it as hitting off mud practise!!)
We were very happy with the friendlines particularly of the staff at the restaurant.
The restaurant with its outside dining. The rooms could use some remodeling as far as bedding. They were pretty outdated.
excellent hotel - excellent room with splendid view and facilities - breakfast and dinner were most excellent.
The position of the hotel for the beach and it was easy to get to most places of interest without to much trouble. The car park was used by people not staying at the hotel, but using it to park up and go to the beach.my wife and I actually watched from our balcony ladies stripping of their under clothes before getting into their cars before going home!
Well appointed hotel with friendly helpful staff. They gave us a generous lunch pack when we had to leave before breakfast time at no cost to us. Some noise from the dining areas could be heard in our first floor room (functions finished by 1030pm so not a problem for us)
Close to road so can be noisy. Large hotel so rather impersonal. Several wedding / other parties whilst we were there so over busy and noisy at night
helpfull english speaking staff. relaxed atmosphere. good beach facilities. generally a very well organised hotel and well situated for touring the area. no bar or hot drinks facilities outside of meal time and nowhere to have an drink before dinner.
The staff were very friendly and helpful The room was a bit smaller than I am used to in Irish hotels
Evening meal good value, Hotel location, free wifi
Very clean and modern plus close to the beach. Next to the maincoast road.
I was a bit dissapointed that the hotel private beach and beach restaurant was closed as of 1st October. In fact I chose this hotel because of its private beach to enjoy the autumn sun and calmness. Having set that aside during my stay, I enjoyed the friendliness of the hotel in all other aspects.
Friendly and welcoming staff, basic room and facilities,
Excellent location near station and central to the town, but quiet road.Very pleasant welcome, charming room, spotlessly clean, nice breakfast. Would definately recommend this hotel and go back again. Nothing
The owner came out and made special parking arrangements for our motorcycles in his parking garage, moving things around so they would be very secure. Everyone there was helpful and worked hard to make our two days there enjoyable and relaxing.
Very good location. Clean and comfortable. The room was a bit small, but the shower and plumbing was modern and functioned well.
The proprietor was extremely helpful, made us feel welcome and allowed us to park our motorcycles in her own garage.
Very pleasant hotel with excellent staff. They speak French, of course, but English as well. Room was spacious and airco worked perfectly.Location of hotel is excellent as starting point for trips to the inland as well as cities along the coast. Beakfast was frugal but value for money
Friendly, helpful staff who kept the hotel and rooms very clean. Great location next to the beach - lovely view from superior room Was near to the railway, but rooms very well insulated so trains could not be heard once windows and outside door shut.
Fabulous Hotel, the staff were really friendly and the room was lovely and clean. Breakfast on the pretty little terrace was a sheer pleasure. It is a really laid back place and the staff are a joy to deal with.Parking was secure and close to the room. We will be going back soon and cannot wait.
Sea view room, clean and tidy although not large. Staff helpfull and speak fluent English. No restaurant on site. Breakfast should be included in price.
Excellent location as it was just across the beach as well as being situated near the Italian border and many other places of interest should you want to explore further afield like St Tropez. Comfortable room with good facilities. I would say that the describing the room with a sea view was a little misleading, as although you could see the sea from the balcony, the main view was of the car park!
Although the Easter weather was not really typical for the Côte d'Azur, our stay at Le Relais d'Agay was a pleasure. The room is furnished and decorated lovingly. Madame "la patronne" und all the stuff do the best to be in good hands.
Good! The staff was very nice and helpful and the best about the hotel was its location, very close to the beach. That the hotel breakfast was not included in the price and that the breakfast was very expensive.
Great staff, excellent beach location, fabulous cafe/bar Not very modern
Great restaurant, perfect setting, choose a room with aircon in the summer highly recommend if you look for a nice family beach holiday
The friendly welcome and easy access to various activities on the Cote D'Azur was most appreciated. Also, there's a fantastic restaurant downstairs amongst a garden. Superbe relaxing atmosphere. I would visit again and again!
enough of space, quiet quarter for one night is not very convenient: when check in the inventory needs to be done, it must be clean before leaving. Noisy air conditioner. Only for holidays.
the quietness of the gardens and pool area, very peaceful, clean, perfect for relaxing and exploring the local area the car park needed some attention
very peaceful place with wide parking, access day and night, good equipment (coffe machine, microwawe, plates etc) the reception is open only few hours a day, and not all tne days of the week, the deparure time is 10:00 and arrival time 16:00
The pool, the neighbourhood. It was really silent and relaxing! There were always rules or does and don't. For example: You're not allowed to wear long shorts in the pool or take your sunmilk and shoes (not even Flip-Flops) to the pool. Or an informationsheet in the hotel says, that if you ruin a plate it will cost 4 euros and if you riun the curtain it costs 38 euros... And the bed was just a couch.
very nice pool clean a nd spacious studio. no complaints at all. travelling with 2 children under 3 no complaints really apart from no oven/grill only microwave and hob
Helpfulness of the staff was excellent.
the staff was very friendly, helpful, and quite enthusiastic. The decor and appearance of the hotel are all very pleasant and the room, although small for two, was comfortable and quite clean. Maybe best of all was the breakfast served that was included in the room price. It was delicious! Wishing there was a lift to help with hauling luggage up stairs. Small room for two adults.
Good facilities and we were well looked after. Breakfast was excellent
Very clean. Good location and parking Room was too small to accommodate the four-poster bed.
Individual rooms; fresh feel about the place; staff; terrace area
Very clean and tidy hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. A very descent breakfast buffet was included in the room price. Not much to complain about. Maybe one could say that the design of the rooms, based on different countries worldwide, felt a little bit "kitsch".
Jacuzzi/Garage/Breakfest in the room
Very clean rooms and very friendly and helpful staff. Claims of sea view are technically accurate though slightly exaggerated.
very nice and helpful stuffs, very good breakfast service
Was glad they have a closed off parking area, bathroom was reasonably big and clean. We had the African room, it was small with not much space to put luggage. Even though the room was small, it was decorated with a four poster bed, side table and chairs, which we had to push aside to walk in the room. Perhaps furniture could be better thought out. Staff was friendly but most of the time hiding in the kitchen, could be heard from the living chatting away during morning time (the usual guest breakfast and check out time). Reception staff could be more helpful, first word out is always no. It was a beautiful sunny morning, and all the chairs and breakfast tables were not clean and prepared for guests in the morning. Have to clean them yourself to sit.
the staff is just simply gorgeous - the rooms are beautyful - try to catch the chinese room, when you open your eyes you'll see the sea - just top! would definitely come back anytime ... soon hopefully :-) saint raphael is moderately charming, rather touristic, like many other places at the cote d'azur - however, it's an excellent place to start and explore the surroundings ... at least if you have a car at your disposal
Room and Bed is small, the breakfast is very bad, nothing to eat, no service.my Girl 5 years old should pay 12,50 euro for the breakfast.
location extremely dingy and not at the level of most 3 star hotels in France
Excellent location. Curteous staff. Prices of drinks! Hovering birds at the outside tables.
Proximity of the beach, quality (recently refurnished) of the room The breakfast is really poor in regards with the good quality of the hotel
Location next to golf club No. This is the third time at this hotel
Perfect position on sea-front, restaurant good quality, staff very pleasant. Room too expensive for this type of hotel, no proper stand-in shower, food & wine was good but crazy expensive. Site states free wi-fi but actually limited to 6 hours - no good for business (which is why I was there!)
Location very disappointed with the room, informed the hotel but we were told all the rooms the same. the room did not have any drawer space and nowhere near enough wardrobe space. No shower.
My room was nicely decorated and was clean; it appeared to have been redone recently. The A/C was great; it wasn't that hot when I was there but I think it would be a great asset during July or August. The breakfast, which was included, was a very good continental breakfast with an extensive selection. The front desk staff were generally quite friendly and helpful. The soundproofing for noise from the street was good. The bed linens and mattresses are a little tired and not premium quality. However, I would not necessarily expect this given the price, location of this hotel and what I know about bed linens generally in moderately priced hotels in France.
excellent location right on the seafront room a bit small, breakfast not very extensive just croissants
A great studio room. So clean and comfortable, even a dishwasher. Bed v. good. Small terrace overlooking a garden and some houses in a residential area. Pretty quiet. BBC World on TV but nothing else in English, so much to do around this area it's not a problem. Parking outside the studio. All in all a really excellent choice for a base for touring the Riviera as everything is within easy driving distance. You do need a car to access the centre of town and the bay side restaurants. Nothing else to complain about - all really worth the price.
The owners were very, very nice and friendly. They went above and beynd for us. They would provide us with tips and recommendations for various things when we asked. Always gave us driving instructions with maps and even lent us a GPS! The location was near the beach and the town. Some were within walking distance, and very near for driving. It was like a B&B and quaint hotel. Squeeky stairs, but that added to the charm of the hotel. :)
Homely friendly atmosphere, most enjoyable stay. Thank you
We had a garden room, but with a seaview! Didn't expect, so we're very pleased. Breakfast delicious, served on a terrace. Pool in a garden. Very nice couple owns this place, they speak English and are very helpful. There are 2 cats living there. Should be mentioned in a description of this hotel in case someone is allergic. Like my husband..
Free hotel parking was excellent and very secure. Friendly accommodating staff. Very good value almost budget like accommodations. Wonderful view of sea. Quite and super comfy!! Staff seems a bit overwhelmed but they still are managing the hotel very well. Lighting is a bit dim in hallways.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Le Thimothe. The family that ran the hotel were very kind and helpful and the place had a small time charm about it.It was both country French and modern at the same time..and we loved the creaking stairs !!!
A good budget option Very clean and welcoming. Lovely balcony view. Super hosts. The walk each night from the front. However this is a budget option so one has to be realistic.
The bathrooms were lovely and the owners generous and helpful. The hotel is actually quite far from the beach, and in a residential neigborhood with no restaurants or other services in walking distance.
Good price, location. Thin walls. Noise in the room.
We had a lovely room with a small balcony overlooking the sea and hills. The rooms are relatively small but very nicely decorated which makes them nice and comfortable. Breakfast at the terras is very nice.
good position- good parking- value for money menu could be more extensive but the choice of a buffet in the evening was excellent value
Free Parking. Breakfast
Convenient location for exploring the area. Balcony was useful but noisy from road traffic. The decoration, furniture and fittings were very tired. Our wash hand basin was cracked (which we reported), the shower head had to be replaced, our balcony glass door is badly cracked as is the entrance door to the Reception area. The carpets in the hotel were worn and stained, a dining chair I sat on was broken and removed.
well situated for touring the area
Comfortable bed, clean room with a balcony. We had a nice view on the city Frejus and mountains. Fruit market and a huge supermarket nearby. The address of the hotel should be specified exactly (housenumber=990) and not just 'avenue 8 Mai' which is ~2 km long. Finding the hotel might be a troublesome even for those speaking french. 2+ km to the beach/Port Frejus/city center/restaurants. No fridge in the room (although tea/coffee-facilities are available), tv did not work, hotel bikes were stolen, wi-fi has very low signal at the room. Just a small suggestion, the comfort could be improved by adding a table to two chairs at the balcony.
Hotel was everything I expected for the price. Room a little small for a twin room but bathroom and separate WC more than adequate. Breakfast good. A bit out of the town so quite a trek to the beach/port.
Centrally located, pleasant staff, clean room and varied choice for breakfast Small bedroom, very little storage space for clothes.
we were with our bikes and wanted to go to the beach and to visit the city. Very good location for us! Nice and quiet room.
Good access to city Very Spartan, rooms small, dated and in need of refurbishment
Nice room, wood floor rather than carpet. Nice little balcony. No mirror near power points so if you're a girl it's a pain.
This Hotel was fantastic, the beautiful bay and its sandy beach is just outside the door. Lots of restaurants and small shops and the tourist infomation all within five minutes walk. There is a restaurant actually on the beach with a menu you suit all pockets, my wife and ate there 3 times on the terrace with the sun sinking red below the Esterel hills. if you want a Hotel just far enough away from the larger resorts like Cannes and St Tropez look no further. We have found our dream resort, and will return we hope many times.
