The staff was very helpful. Having a great restaurant in the hotel was advantageous. The location was convenient for our visit. The room was very small.
I loved the style of the hotel. Very special and unspoilt. I hope it never changes.
The attached restaurant is outstanding athough room was supposed to be a double, it was barely large enough for a single bed. The bathroom was incredibley small and the sink overlapped the toilet, making "a visit" an uncomfortable experience..
The hotel is in a very convenient location. The staff was particularly helpful about walking directions and restaurant suggestions. The room was very clean and comfortable. A good value. The road was torn up so it was somewhat difficult to get close to the hotel and find a place to stop. But once we were there we were directed to the hotel parking not far away.
Appointments were beautiful and the staff were helpful to every circumstance - especially to late night city walkers. Complements to Steeve and to the gals who run the breakfast bar
We spent two nights here mainly to do Christmas shopping. The hotel is placed right in the middle of all the lovely shops in Angers and so it was a perfect choice. Also near the Cathedral, theatre and cinema. Not too easy to find by car. We had to park the car at a park down by the river, walk up to the hotel and then get directions. On hotel advice we then parked in an underground car park two minutes away. It was 27 euros for two nights but very secure and accessible.
Very clean and good looking rooms and bathrooms! The hotel's interior is very attractive!
Convenient to centre
The hotel was centrally located and had a free fast wifi internet connection. My roomed looked on to the street and there was quite a lot of noise from late-night revellers.
Friendly staff and the central location
The hotel was clean, the room was spacious (compared to Paris hotels)the bed was very comfortable and the staff were very helpful and friendly - a nice place to stay.
Very well located, room and bathroom clean and reasonable size, parking near by convenient.
proximity to the inexpensive garage, proximity to restaurants,
quiet rooms and efficient staff. Good breakfast.
Good value for money and very friendly staff. The hotel is well located and parking is easy. The breakfst is a little bit expensive but very good. Maybe the price of the breakfast (an option to have a smaller, simple, cheaper breakfast than the buffet)
The staff were very friendly and happy to advise on the city of Angers. Considering the proximity of the hotel to the station I was amazed at how quiet the rooms were.
Friendly staff, good simple fare.
Good location -good value for money - you get what you pay for -decor tired, but room spotless Faulty boiler meant no hot water on 2 occasions!
location and staff
The staff at the hotel was fantastic! Everyone we came into contact with was helpful and kind. The hotel itself was a great value for the price. A wonderful place to stay.
Obliging staff, convenient location, quiet. no minibar (I don't want the drinks, but I hate not having anywhere to keep things cold)
Hotel is nice for its price. Basic, but clean and cosy. The breakfast is good. I did like much the historic "spirit" of the house: It is built from thick wooden timbers, which are nicely demonstrated in the lobby. Room was not big.
This is a great hotel, conveniently located near the station and close to the city centre. The staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel is nicely decorated and was beautifully clean. Our room was very comfortable and we enjoyed very good breakfast. As has been said, the soundproofing is excellent, although traffic is minimal during the night. We were travelling by bicycle and the hotel had storage space for these and we were able to leave the bikes during a day spend touring the city. We wouldn’t hesitate to return.
The staff were very considerate when I got sick and needed some quiet recuperation time. The hotel chef/manager went out of his way to make the 4 of us feel very welcome, even during the daytime when we needed a quietspot outside to eat our lunch.Free parking onsite. It was a bit out of the way so you needed a car to see the sights and go downtown.
Hotel location We initialy ask for 2nd floor room- not given no maps of saumur in the hotel except on the wall we ate continantal breakfast and were charged for a buffet one
Comfortable for a three night stay and very convenient to explore the Loire district. Excellent helpful staff and great restaurant convenient for dinner.
A very comfortable room and very friendly helpful staff The restaurant was very good value for money and excellent food no
The friendlyness of the staff
The bed was comfortable. We booked because it was supposed to have a good restaurant, but upon arrival we were told that the restaurant was closed on Sunday and were given no useful help in finding an alternative. It was too far to walk to town and, having driven there, we found that most restaurants were closed.
helpful and friendly staff no
Restaurant was good and owners were very helpful
Friendly staff and good value for money
The hotel was very comfortable with good facilities, It was in a perfect position overlooking the river and chateau.
The Hotel was in a great location with great views of the Chateau and it is on the bansks of the Loire and within walking distance to lots of great restaurants. The bar closes at 11.00pm even on a Saturday night which is not much help when you hope to return after eating out with friends and having a nightcap together before retiring for the night.
Situation, friendliness of the hotel, cleanliness. We were very pleased with the hotel.
Rooms very clean and staff really helpful Can't say we disliked anything
Relaxed atmosphere, helpful staff, wonderful view from our room
The location for the view over the river and chateau was excellent. Only a very short walk to the shops and market. Good value.
Very good breakfast. Night clerk was very helpful as we arrived very, very late and she helped us enter the garage, find a parking spot, get our stuff into the elevator and get into the room. Wish I knew her name. Found the name of the hotel confusing, it is the Mercure on the signage and staff told us it was changed a couple of years ago--we missed it the first time because we didn't see the secondary name on the sign--we were looking for the Loire Hotel.
Location, Room, Staff Internet was not available during our stay. Only 10 TV channels available.
proimity to centre of town restaurant staff not very friendly , looked down on
Clean hotel, modern feel, friendly staff.... Overall excellent Can't think of any bad points
Comfort and cleanliness of the room, good facilities, adequate bathroom, friendly and helpful staff, location at rear of hotel, as roadworks in the front. Leak from bathroom above into shower compartment one day. limited TV channels
Helpful Staff, multilingual and reserved parking. Room too warm for us even with the Air Conditioning.
modern decor but nothing else in particular The roadworks outside the window. room was overheated and a bit small. Lighting was too low.
Convenient town centre location. Not close to station -a good 10 minute walk away. Used to be the (Bleu) Marine Hotel before Mercure took it over. Breakfast a complete rip off at 15 ECU (european currency units). Much better to go to a cafe.
Good location Parking and access difficult due to road works
The hotel is clean, centrally located, and the staff are very helpful. It was a great value.
It was in the perfect location, right in the centre of Angers. The staff were extremely helpful and were very friendly to the large Irish group who were staying in the hotel to attend a wedding. They went out of their way to help us and we booked early getting great value for money. It's a pity the construction works for the tram system is outside the front door and outside the restaurant which can be noisy if you sit outside
it was central and the restaurant was very good
Very Quiet, comfortable room. Centrally located , helpfull staff and good restaurant for evening meals.Good size room. Hot breakfast fair and water not hot enough to make proper tea.
Fantastic location for the price we paid. Lovely park behind the hotel. Would definately recommend.
As the name might suggest, the hotel has an excellent location for Angers. In my experience, the staff were excellent too. Overall, I'd look forward to going back and hope to do so.
The location was good and close to the centre of town. It is a little too modern and headboard a little weird but overall very comfortable. Not a great deal of difference regarding privilege room except coffee machine. Standard would be fine for most.
Warm welcome, well situated, clean and comfortable rooms and friendly and helpful staff. Hotel bar and restaurant could stay open a little later.
Our superior room was most attractively designed with an excellent bathroom, towelling robes and toiletries. The bed was large and comfortable and bed linen superb. Although the hotel is quiet and alongside a beautiful garden, it is located in a very busy area with much traffic. Parking is integral which makes a huge difference to one's stay.
only critic : no ventilation in the bathroom. Otherwise excellent on all respects
Be aware of that the reception closes at midnight.
Secure parking, breakfast good, near the town centre close to restaurants and bars, big room The water pressure was not great that meant the shower was poor and it would take an age to fill the bath.
Reception very helpful. Junior suite extremely comfortable, nice too have two rooms with two TVs. Very tight parking. Not for the larger vechicle.Coffee machine in room far too complicated to get coffee from! Poor standard of service & food in dining room. They totally forgot our main course, we went from starter to sweet in just over the hour! Food just okay, and not special as the price should demand. Plat de Jour basic dry chichen & chips, no better than self service motorway standard, in fact had better on the motorway!
Rooms are modern and contemporary and very clean.Staff helpful and underground parking very useful. With the current exchange rate of approx £1 - EUR1, breakfast is very expensive at EUR 15. The 'smaller' breakfast of just coffee, croissant and orange juice is EUR 8......not good value for UK travellers at this time !!
The young Lady on the desk on our night of arrival *(Tatiana) was a verry nice person. Helped with everything. It is not verry often that you get this sort of person
Easy to find. Good location, comfortable rooms. Easy to park. Asked for disabled room, was given low floor but shower was over bath
Good location. Poor internet.
excellent staff and facilities no
Hotel staff very friendly. Good choice for breakfast Room previously occupied by a smoker...it's less of a big deal in France than England but it did bother me. I don't like to go out smelling like an old ash tray. Didn't complain as I was late booking...a sparay solved the problem.
The room was quite small but very comfortable and furnished to a high standard. One parking spot in the hotel garage was raised at the far end with no warning. My husband reversed the car off the back of this ledge and grounded the car. A warning would have been very useful.
Pleasant staff, private garage parking, internet station. Breakfast expensive at €11.25 per person.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast room. Everything very clean and well maintained.
Helpful, friendly staff. Comfortable room with good facilities. Good value for money
well situated for walking easily into the center of Saumur for shopping and good choice of restaurants. would have liked comfy chair in room.
The chateau is sooooooooo fantastic, and undoubtfully the best hotel I've ever tired. It has very beautiful rooms, nice people, and a great garden! Nothing.
It was like staying in your own Chateau amazing. We were very lucky to be given a upgrade but all the rooms looked amazing 5 stars plus. The owners go out of there way to make your stay so very special.
The owners of the Chateau De Verrieres are very warm and helpful. Staff are very polite. The bedrooms are very clean and well maintained and the reception areas are wonderful. Very nice dining area for breakfast. The is Chateau situated in a very good location for exploring Saumur on foot.
Friendly proprietors and staff willing to make the stay memorable in every way. beauitfully maintained heritage chateau with pool. Well located close to town and facilities. Nothing
The owners are very nice and attentive. The mansion is absolutely gorgeous and is well kept. The interior and décor is suburb. A truly luxurious experience. Nothing, it was perfect.
The Chateau is absolutely beautiful. The owners, family & all staff were very friendly and helpful. The only thing which we found a little strange was that you couldn't lock your room. Although the chateau itself was secure.
The owner was most receptive and hospital and helpful
From the very moment that we arrived we were made extremely welcome and comfortable by our hosts. They were extremely helpful in suggesting tours and visits. They recommended retaurants which were all reasonable and of high quality.. We parted friends! No.
It was great from start to finish, the owners were very friendly and helped us book a gorgeous meal at the nearby Gambetta restaurant.
this chateau was beautifully maintained and the owners were professional and most helpful..delightful stay
The ease of check in and check out Sattelite tv ? there were 3 channels
We enjoyed the view from our room, 212. We appreciated the quiet for sleeping. There were three things that made us uncomfortable in the room. There was no real hot water for showering. The TV was difficult to operate. The lighting beside the bed was inadiquate. The lighting should be over the bed for reading purposes.
Comfortable hotel in an historic old building. Bit more expensve than I expected
I had stayed at this hotel before and liked it very much. I love the architectural style of the building which is very elegant. Excellent location. Helpful friendly staff. I had booked a double "Prestige Room" for single occupancy but I later requested a twin bedded room, when a friend decided to join me on my trip. Whilst the twin bedded room was perfectly comfortable, I would not have described it as "Prestige".
Great Service, Restaurant across the courtyard was excellent too.
The helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. The noisy American party and the way they took over the peace of the courtyard
Hotel setting and staff were both excellent, also well positioned for restaurants etc. Rooms was a bit scruffy and could do with fresh lisk of paint, coffee at breakfast was terrible
Position; views. Small but comfortable room. Pleasant, accommodating and helpful staff.
Sitting on the patio enjoying the view of the castle while drinking a glass of wine and eating Brie cheese. great atmosphere
Friendly, helpful staff combined with a truly excellent historic location with views of both the chateau and the Loire; very convenient for walking to the centre of Saumur. Overall, nothing to note.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was very comfortable and the location was excellent. We requesting overnight parking and it was all arranged when we arrived.
Good hotel with central location. Good rooms. Good recommendations for restaurants. Noisy street so keep windows closed. minor issues with door lock on toilet
The only downfall was no lift, but there was help with your bags if you needed it.
The owners and staff were very helpfull and welcoming. Breakfast was fresh and included homemade chocolate cake! Hotel was easy to find and central. Private car parking.
Access to shops Parking was a little difficult
Staff were charming, hotel was delightful, well appointed and has private parking near the center of town. Would happily stay here again.
This is a super hotel in the heart of the city. Recently renovated, the décor is tasteful and imaginative, and has been finished to a very high standard. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Our room was comfortable and well thought out, and with a little balcony overlooking the street for evening entertainment! We saw the good secure parking but made use of the excellent bicycle storage facilities. Thoroughly recommended.
central steep stairs
The staff were very helpful, friendly and the secure parking was a huge bonus. The hotel was very well positioned in the city centre. There was no lift available, the reception was on the first floor and our room was on the second.
Friendly staff, good location, comfortable and well appointed rooms.
This is a tastefully decorated, charming hotel in the historic centre of Saumur. The proprietor was very friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts were memorable!
Beautifully refurbished building. Perfect location for access to explore Loire and Saumur. Parking! Host could not have been more helpful.
Central to Saumur. Extremely helpful staff
The rooms were elegant and the service was on a personal level, very welcoming. The breakfast served was absolutely fantastic.
Very good location within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Friendly helpful staff
Helpful staff, location, beautiful building... No
This is a truly lovely hotel right in the heart of Saumur. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel was beautifully decorated, well maintained and spotlessly clean. We thought this a perfect find and will be returning.
Beautiful Bijou hotel in the heart of a beautiful city.
This hotel is very central, charming in details that makes your stay not only most comfortable but memorable to return to. The staff, excellent.
Room cleanliness & comfor. It's a lovely, romantic hotel in an ideal location
The location was just what we wanted. The type of accommodation and facilities suited all our needs. Food was excellent .An overall superb stay in a beautiful part of France. I dont know if it was the mattress or the base but we rolled into the centre of the bed. I feel this needs to be looked at asap. Otherwise room was excellent.
Staff were very helpful and freindly, Rooms were well set out and comfortable
We enjoyed the food in the restaurant, walking round a beautiful area and resting on route south
Friendly and helpful staff. Small rooms but quite comfortable. Excellent food and sommelier.
Excellent room - we had bath with jacuzzi, lounge area, bedroom and a separate room for our daughter all in one suite. Hotel has pleasant views over Saumur and Loire valley which can be enjoyed from the restaurant that serves excellent food. Dinner was lovely, but quite expensive. Had a bit of trouble finding the place.
We chose the hotel bcause it was a logis with three chimneys and were very disappointed. Lovely views from the terrace but the room was small, you had to be a contortionist to get in the loo and the shower was old and manky. The service in the restaurant was dreadful and the meal and room were overpriced. Our complaints about the restaurant were not passed on to reception, and we were dealt with very badly at reception the following morning. Breakfast itself was poor and the room similar to a cafeteria. It is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in 25 years holidaying in France and we will not return.
Very friendly staff. Central but quite location with many nice restaurants around. Big and clean room.
Very lovely building, staff, easy location to find off the main roads. Parking lot.
the location was very good as it was centrally located for visiting the town of Angers. Car parking was also a bonus. The breakfast selection could be better but was adequate for the price.
Beautifull building and interior very helpful staff Breakfast fair but expensive
Just a one night stopover, this was in a quiet location but still close to restaurants and shops. Our room was quite small, but they welcome dogs which is essential for us. We ate at the Novo restaurant around the corner which was excellent.
Staff were very helpful and experienced. The Hotel is as described on your website. Breakfast costs....which, in France, are now separate from the room...seemed high for what was available on the buffet.
The staff were attentive. The bed was comfortable. The room was miniscule and the bathroom a shoebox.By far the smallest room of the five hotels we stayed in.
We enjoyed the quiet calm of the hotel, near the centre of Angers. The room was spacious and the staff very helpful. It was useful having parking in a private courtyard in front of the hotel.
Well-heated room and comfortable bed. The quaint architecture of the building and the fact that it is the site of some interesting parts of Angers City's history. Central location but yet extremely quiet. Private car park. Service provided by hotel's internet provider did not seem to be stable somehow. And this was not a problem of signal reception as it was always "very good" in the room I was (internet explorer kept freezing and I had to switch my computer on and off to get connected to internet again).
The location was perfect with city parking available. The courtyard would have been a good place for a beer under the tree if beer was available.
only used the bar as we arrived late, barman give us his time at the end of the night to talk to us.
The restaurant - food is excellent (a la carte), breakfest - very good. Very comfortable bed! Not only shower but as well bathtub in the room. Could be excellent for the conferences, seminars. Shopping centre near the hotel. Beautiful nature - park across the road - spend 2 wonderful evenings away from business dinners and city noises! :) Not in walking distance from the city centre. Taxi cost was 15 EUR from railway station to the hotel. However - there is bus stop near the hotel.
Modern and clean, simple but with everything needed.
Clean and refurbished bedrooms. Good value if you get special offer but I would never pay full price for that kind of bedroom. Good food in restaurant but the colour changing wall effect with the LEDs become very annoying after a few minutes...
Pillows are awfully uncomfortable and very small. A minor annoyance is that the air conditioning is turned off at night causing you to become too hot by 0600. Alternative was to open window but noise to great then.
cleanliness. helpful staff too far from city centre
Parking privé et fermé la nuit. Environnement très moche. Restaurant très moyen.
We arrived on motorbikes which normally scares people however staff were very friendly and helpfull even sorted a hire car for us. Rooms excellent and very clean with great showers!!
