Pros: Lovely people, warm welcome, arriving early not a problem. The house is brand new and the four guest rooms are spacious, airy and well appointed. They have a separate entrance and take up the top floor of the house. Communal kitchen area with coffee, tea and lemonade free, other drinks from the honesty bar were €1. Small shared veranda. Breakfast was served downstairs and was a friendly affair with a chance to chat to the hosts (French only) and other guests. We were cycling the Loire and the house is only 200m from the Loire a velo route.
Cons: Everything was to a high standard - no negatives.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly husband & wife hosts. Good advice on places to visit on route while we were cycling along the Loire Valley. Location very close to Velo 6 route. Excellent breakfast - huge delicious croissants. Husband gave my wife and I tomatoes from his garden to take on our cycle ride.

Pros: Pristine accomodation with kitchette in a very tasteful renovated old building. Superb bathroom and shower. Kitchenette most useful and great touch. Peerless location if you want centre of Ancenis, and the car parking is free in white line spaces (central car park across from L'hotellerie)
Cons: .

Pros: We liked everything so there really isn't any more to add. The bed was big and comfortable, the shower spacious and easy to use, there was a place for suitcases and a table and chairs had we decide to eat in our room.
Cons: Nothing. Why should I write more if there was nothing to complain about!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Modern conversion of a very old building. Very clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A quiet room, comfortable beds. Very good French breakfast !!
Cons: The restaurant was closed. We were emailed only a few hours before arrival. We had to microwave a nice dinner ourselves.

Pros: The breakfast and lunch was fabulous. The rooms were immaculate.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable and weclcoming. A mistake I made when booking was very kindly rectified with a surprisingly small adjustment to the bill and good will and considerable courtesy. Right in the best, and oldest part of this very pleasant and peaceful old town. Fully deserves its high rating.
Cons: Lack of private parking is not really a problem.

Pros: Lovely comfy bed.Great shower room. A real treat having Michel bring fresh croissants and bread every morning, plus a bottle of freshly squeezed orange juice on the first morning.Great. The Loire is just over the road, wonderful.
Cons: The kitchen to the studio flat is very small, but, extremely well equipped.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location in the city centre. Parking at the appartement. Great room at the back of the house and very silent! Very good bed. Good shower! Free breakfast and Michel is a very nice owner
Cons: Nothing! I give it a 10!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just perfect. Loved everything about Michel’s place. I’m a sucker for kitchen appliances and he has the best of all of it!! The place was clean to the highest standard. Nothing to do with the apartment, but if you want to buy anything, you need to do it between 10-12 or 14-16. We got caught out with no diapers while all the shops around were shut.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The gite was in a great location and so quiet and peaceful. The studio room was large and with a very comfortable bed. The kitchen was very basic but adequate though a really tight squeeze! It was rather odd that the kitchen area was not private from the other occupants and the garden open to anyone to use but that was not a problem in the event. Thank you for the breakfasts on Mondays when the local bread shop was closed. I was grateful for the rubbish management because the closer places to take it were controlled by access tags. Parking was fairly easy to find and the parking permit being available was very useful on occasion. The town itself felt safe and friendly.
Cons: I would have liked a kettle in the very small kitchen.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Michel has gone out of his way to help us, from early breakfast, bike cleaning, picnic supper on the Loire river, lovely clean friendly accommodation. Superb and reasonably priced
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All you could ever need this property has it. We felt more comfortable than in our own house.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Superbly appointed apartment close the river, shops, restaurants and bars. The host could not have been more helpful. Highly recommended.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Michel and Christine were very welcoming and helpful. The kitchen and sitting room were very well equipped. The location was excellent - Ancenis is so pretty with good road links and local attractions.
Cons: For the two of us us and our little dog, the accommodation was too small. There was very little hanging space or storage space for clothing. Consequently, we lived out of suitcases. Our dog hated the open tread staircase which he refused to use. We hated the lavatory in the sitting room, separated from the sitting room by just a sliding door. A very small step at the top of the stairs was a safety hazard.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and the calm. The tenant welcome and sympathy and kind attention (offered us breakfast :-))

A particularly delightful feature was the outstanding breakfast which was excellent - cereal, scrambled eggs, cheese, bacon, chocolate souflet, croissants, jam and butter. Magnifique!

Madame was very welcoming and we had a sumptuous breakfast in the conservatory. Madame welcomed us with a lovely cool drink in the apartments courtyard.
Cons: We had no dislikes, but just to advise anyone that they will need to be agile to climb the stairs to the apartment.

Pros: Right in the middle of Ancenis but very spacious and quiet. Excellent facilities for our bikes and a brilliant breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Once a again Booking.com found us a real gem. From the moment you step through the door of the Chambres d'hôtes Loire-charmilles you are made to feel part of the family. Our room was exquisite and beautifully decorated and the bed, so big and comfortable, You just need to watch out for the low beams. The garden is beautiful and a wonderful place to spend time just relaxing and our host Nadia brought me a cold beer which was just what I needed after a long drive. The breakfast room was once an old presbytery that's situated in the garden and you are just left awe struck when you first enter, the attention to detail is magnificent. The food...Wow! all I can say is Nadia our host should be writing books on cooking. Our hosts had some friends over for dinner including another Irish man and his wife and we were invited to join them in the presbytery. What a wonderful evening it was, the table had rose petals scattered around two big candelabras and Beautiful food, Beautiful wine and good friends to share it with what more could you ask for. Thank you Nadia for the most wonderful evening. It may sound corny but if I could, I would give a rating of Twenty-out-of-Ten. It really is that good. If I return again next year to the Course de Côte de La Pommeraye (motorsport) I will definitely be staying here. Thank you all...
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The whole property is lovely, the hostess very welcoming, charming and helpful and the room very comfortable with a beautiful modern bathroom.
Cons: It was obvious that great thought and care had gone into the renovation of what had been the attic, giving a character filled room with modern facilities - however there were two rather low beams which challenged our aging backs

Pros: A beautiful b&b well located for wine lovers. The b&b is historic, very green and nice. Alix has her own chickens and the food she cooks is amazing. Unfortunately, the weather during our stay wasn’t very nice, otherwise we would have explored more on foot. Can only recommend this place.

Pros: This wonderful, grand old house enshrines so much of what I’m sure most visitors are seeking in France. A great setting, huge bedrooms, magnificent staircase, very comfortable bed, and the very best of breakfasts prepared by the delightful owner for whom nothing seems too much trouble. All the produce is locally sourced, and the delicious and varied jams are made by the owner.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike. It was a thrill to stay in such an historic house.

Pros: The house and garden are beautiful, unusual, welcoming and full of history and original features. Modern comforts are all there and still fit with the historic charm. Alix the charming host was so welcoming and anticipated our every need. We also had dinner there and the food was absolutely delicious, all home made and so carefully thought out, a really memorable feast, compliments the the chef. Also both the meal and the extraordinary room were fantastic value. Best place ever, we’ll be back, and will tell all our friends, gems like this are very rare.
Cons: It was absolutely perfect, we would recommend it without reservation

Excellent breakfast and dinner, everything freshly prepared using high quality regional products, plus a very comprehensive selection of regional wines.

Cons: Bath / Shower was a bit cramped being in the eaves of the house.

Pros: The young family who run this studio apartment are an absolute delight. We were invited for an apero on arrival and serenaded by Isobelle on the harp. Pros: I can't fault this property in any way. It is a fantastic homestay. The room is spotlessly clean and includes a small kitchenette and bathroom so it is completely self contained while the owners live nextdoor. The hosts speak a little English and are very accommodating. We arrived in the evening and cooked our dinner. The countryside around the house is very pretty and you will only hear the birds....no traffic!
Cons: Though the location was not difficult to find, it is a little bit off the beaten track...but that adds to its charm.

Pros: Lovely building and grounds, though not quite well kept. Secure parking. Interesting "natural" swimming pool.

7.5 Good
Pros: Very friendly staff and lovely room
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel - fantastic building and grounds. Large comfortable rooms and excellent en suites. Suitable for couples or families.
6.3 Good
Pros: This chateau has a beautiful façade and has some amazing facilities. Our personal favourites were the sauna and tennis court. The hotel location is pretty magical if you are looking for a place to unplug and unwind. Lastly, the staff member who checked us out gave us a wonderful little restaurant to eat before our long drive to the Dordogne area.
Cons: Unfortunately, we would not return or recommend based on the following reasons: - The Wi-Fi did not work in our rooms. We were unintentionally unplugged. - The bed duvet cover had a cigar sized burn hole making it very unappealing to use - Our room had no windows so after a while you feel incredibly claustrophobic. We were basically sleeping in the attic of a side building to the chateau - The room had a pretty strange odor that would come and go and we could not figure out where it was coming from at all. There was a diffuser in the room that was empty so unfortunately it could not do its job.

Pros: This is quite a jaw dropping property and why it and other chateaux like it are not full every night is a mystery to me. Yes, the place was empty for 40 years after the war when the Germans bombed it and thankfully missed the chateau and hit the outbuildings instead, but the current owners have worked hard to restore and keep the magnificent palace going, and it has real character. The rooms are sumptuous and original. The breakfast is well above the ordinary continental served at other places. The property lends itself to a few days swanning around the grand rooms and the extensive grounds, which includes a long stretch of a tributary of the Loire River itself. I was there last year and this year and I will try and go back next year.
Cons: That I couldn't stay longer.

Cons: Would love to see the Orangery renovated, such a beautiful spot.

Pros: The room was very comfortable and big.
Cons: The quality of the breakfast coffee and cakes weren’t that nice. Cold meats and cheeses were fine but needed some tomato and cucumber and also some boiled eggs would have been nice.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The property was very beautiful
Cons: The staff basically don’t grasp the meaning of hospitality or that they are there to serve the needs of their clients. No appreciation shown that property is very isolated and that after peddling a bicycle for 6 hours a service oriented staff would not be too much to expect. Rather their response to all our needs was basically they couldn’t/wouldn’t assist us. Would never consider going back to this property

Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful. Their restaurant was closed for a summer vacation, which we knew about well in advance so that was not an issue. The staff were helpful making restaurant recommendations, booking taxis and made our stay relaxing and enjoyable. Also really enjoyed walking the woodlands around the hotel. Beautiful setting.

Pros: The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. I was able to borrow a hairdryer from the owner on day one. The bedroom was very large and light with a comfortable bed. Even in the height of Summer, it was cool at night and very peaceful. Breakfast was plentiful around a shared table with two other English families . We enjoyed freshly made French toast, croissants, cheese, yoghurt and bread. There is an outdoor pool but we didn't use it - it looked very inviting. From the accommodation, it is a short drive ( 5 mins) to a lovely small port where you can enjoy a drink or snack or take a walk/ cycle along the Loire. An evening meal can be cooked by Madame but this is a shared experience with the other guests. It could be wonderful. We chose to drive just 15 mins away to a fantastic outdoor restaurant alongside the Loire - live music and great fresh fish. I would definitley recommend a stay! Cash payment at end of stay.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Absolutely beautiful room, charming hosts, beer on arrival, apero and 4 course meal. Wonderful.
Cons: Only one tiny thing. A hook for the shower would have been good but no biggie.

Cons: Some better signage when approaching the property.

Pros: The couple who run this hotel are lovely. We arrived dirty and tired after a very long day's cycling and were welcomed and fed - a lovely simple meal shared with other guests which proved to be a delightful evening. Breakfast was delicious with the most perfect boiled eggs! The house is in a fantastic location for absolute peace and quiet. We will definitely go back.

Pros: The beautiful bedroom, surrounding countryside and the owner were all great. Wewould be very happy to return and spend more time here. We arrived after having driven for 2 hours to be greeted warmly, shown our room and shown the swimming pool which we then relaxed in. It was a very welcome way to cool down on a very hot day. The owner is friendly knowledgeable and very helpful. She recommended and booked us a table at a nearby restaurant where we had an excellent meal.

Pros: The B&B is actually a converted small chateau. Perched on top of a hill, the grounds are beautiful with great views of the valley and Loire. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite and it was huge... 2 bedrooms and a sitting room. It definitely has a old chateau-like feel which is cool. The owners were very amiable.
