Cheap comfortable no thrills transit hotel for South of France. Breakfast is acceptable. There is a restaurant attached and use of a swimming pool in the next door pizzeria which was closed. The pool is not quite what the pictures portray.
very basic, breakfast very good, pool a bit dirty and very small not at all like the picture. yes we booked 5 nights and decided to stay for one night only ,because of the location.the receptionist was not very pleased and argued a bit with us.
everything was ok, breakfast very good babyphones not reachable from in the restaurants
Good Free Wi-Fi connection, range of tv channels, good shower
Staff on reception were friendly and helpful. This hotel was rather run down and in need of refurbishment.
The bar and the restaurant at the swimming pool was closed during the week.
Hotel was clean and tidy with good restaurant.
The breakfasts were excellent. We felt very relaxed in the hotel. One night we forgot to take our key and we couldn't remember the code on the front door so had to wait about one and a half hours for another guest to let us in !
good value for money for family overnight stop en route to the south. Good pool
Beds were comfortable, breakfast was ok At night until well after 4 am huge noise from outside: partying, screaming and singing from a nearby house that kept us awake most of the night. No hotel receptionist available to consult.
Well situated, and on site free parking. Rooms very bright and pleasant. Good value for money
Very well situated for our long trip from northern France to southern France. Tournon sur Rhone unexpectedly nice little town by the Rhone. Good budget hotel.
Worthwhile clean little place while touring vineyards in Rhone. Good location and they have parking.
Great welcome, very clean. Food fantastic. A real find.
Central to all local shops and facilities, and the room was clean. Breakfast was very good also.
We loved our stay at the hotel. It was clean and had a good atmostphere. It was close to the river. Close to shopping. No.
We used this hotel on our way further south to France. We stayed in Azalées one night and it was excellent ! Nice and very clean hotel room. Very friendly staff, nice dinner, good breakfast. There maybe could be a little more choice of bread during the breakfast.
It was away from the main road but still in the middle of town so handy. There was a car park. There was a car park but it was quite small and tricky to get in and out of at busy times.
Price for family room for 4 persons only 75 EUR! Located in the city center. Too close to railway. A lot of trains pass at night. Do not sleep with windows open.
The room was quietly located overlooking the courtyard that doubled as a secure parking area. The room was good-sized and tastefully furnished. The bathroom was modern with an excellent shower. There was reliable free Wi-fi in the room. Restaurants were within easy walking distance. Only minor points, but there was the occasional sound of passing trains, but not loud enough to prevent sleep. Cars starting up in the courtyard may disturb late risers.
The quiet setting yet easy access from the autoroute
Having the best room in the tower, quite during the night, but a little bit narrow. Bathroom / toilet without door to the sleeping room. Other rooms may have (rarely) street noise during the night.
The wonderful views from the hotel.
The hotel was classy, beautiful views from hotel, pool deck is spectacular, lovely walks around the lake and forest Could have a menu that caters for international tastes.
Beautifully appointed rooms. Amazing view from infinity pool. Lovely dinner. This is a very smart hotel with an amazing resturant - as adults we absolutely loved it. We were travelling with 2 young children - the room was perfect and the chef made a special dinner for them but we would probably choose somewhere more informal until they are a little older. (We'll be back on our own in the meantime!)
Comfortable atmosphere, welcoming staff and excellent food. the location is idyllic.
The food is of an exceptional standard. Staff are very polite and always very accomodating. That we couldn't stay longer perhaps!!
Auberge Du Lac is certainly a hotel playing at the top of the game offering superb facilities and a gourmet restaurant. The new pool recently added needs to be experienced and the location is quite remakable. The restaurant is very expensive and more suited (for us) to occasion dining rather than regular daily needs but never-the-less, the food quality is exceptional and varied. It would be useful to have a lesser menu option for the casual traveller. Leaving!!
Excellent restaurant on terrace over the lake with beautiful views. Food top notch.
Easy to find, good quality rooms - comfortable and well-appointed. Hotel is in a very picturesque setting. The hotel is very well signposted and thus is easy to find. We asked in French for two single beds and these were not provided.
No food facilities after 10pm
The place was close to a nice park Breakfast was poor
Beautifully placed close to a nice park. The rooms need to be updated and refurbished. Look worn out. For a business hotel there should be free internet in the rooms.
Reception staff could speak some english.
The locked and easily accessible car park; the helpfulness of staff; the quietness of the immediate environment. Not too easy to access the hotel from the main road on first arrival - but we shall know next time!
Good location for breaking our journey.
Staff very helpful and friendly: great jam for breakfast Very simple rooms in dull roadside location; practical but not pretty
Very comfortable small hotel set in a quiet location within walking distance of both Tournon centre and Tain l'Hermitage. Hotel easily accessible by car from main road network and with secure parking. Would make a good centre for those wishing to explore Rhone valley and its vineyards. Staff very welcoming, helpful and friendly.
Helpful friendly staff, clean pleasant rooms, comfortable bed. Good breakfast. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended
Convenient location, easy to find, and walking distance into twon and restaurants by the river. Clean, modern and well-equipped rooms, with air-con. Good breakfast. No - everything was fine.
Quiet clean friendly service lacked facilities. A bit far from town.
It was within walking distance of the river and town centre
Very clean Hotel! Very friendly staff! Private parking area. Ein sehr sauberes Hotel! Sehr freundliches Personal! Privatparkplatz. Ganz gutes Frühstück. Only french tv. Poor ac, when it is really warm outside. Some staff speak french, only. Nur französisches Fernsehen. Die Klimaanlage ist etwas schwach für heiße Tage. Einige Mitarbeiter sprechen nur französisch.
The service, the help, the location and the food. The rooms were very clean and comfotable Probably not having tea/coffee facilities in the room
Very nice, well designed hotel, with good professionals working there. The restaurant is awesome. Little bit far from Tain de L'Hermitage and Tournon, the cities that I wanted to visit. On the first night, internet services collapsed.
Good value for very well presented hotel. Great food (if slightly expensive). Some excellent 'homemade' jams at breakfast in the garden (which you wouldn't know is so close to the main road).
This was our second stay in 2010. We find the hotel very comfortable, impeccably maintained, and a very good value. The service is both friendly and correct; breakfast is delightful, befitting the Michelin starred kitchen of M Chabron. It is possible to have the full multi course chef's menu, but also to eat very well and much more lightly as well.
Staff was very kind, especially the bar tender. Hotel is surrounded by the golf. You can walk around, it's pretty green. Restaurant was also nice. Nice space also, bar lounge, terrass, nice view from room. We were there with a baby, and they provided us with a babycott and a spacious room. they were also very helpfull to warm up the babyfood. Spa is also nice with nice relaxing chairs/beds. the Sauna was not working - there was a technical problem! we booked this hotel for its spa and sauna .. what a pitty! The spa-pool could be a little more warm. Because of the spacious room for the baby cott, we only got one window ..
Stunning location and delightful chateau with period fittings and fixtures and pictures and teacups and friendly staff and art exhibition. The booking.com directions were wrong in the final details. When you get to Place Rampon and Rue Jules Ferry, you have to take the road to Vernoux (there is a sign here to Urbilhac) and about 1km outside Lamastre you turn left into the private drive for Chateau d'Urbilhac.
The setting of the hotel was incredible. An amazing 'little' park to walk around in, great tennis courts, a beautiful pool, an incredible view over the rolling hills in the valley. This place is magic. In fact we were put up to the next class of room, which had very recently been renovated beautifully. I would have been happy to stay and relax in the room to soak up the castle atmosphere, but including the spa bath in the bathroom, there were too many things to do outside. Perfect for a romantic weekend stay. The hosts are wonderful and very helpful. You could hear people walking and talking above and around you from our room. The food and wine list which were excellent, but just a little expensive. But the very good price of the accommodation (for the incredible services and quality) makes up for this expense.
Stunning position and beautiful building. Relaxed family atmosphere. A wonderful 3 days.
This hotel is fantastic - beautiful location, amazing rooms and fantastic food and service. We would definitely recommend.
The location is stunning, a wonderful place to relax and/or honeymoon.
Very nice chambre-d'hôtes, owners are very nice people, excellent environment to rest, great pool, fantastic view. If you like to be a few days away from stress this is the perfect location. I would surely recommend this place for 1 or 2 nights but for lunch/dinner I would go "downtown". Food and drinks are way too expensive, you cannot eat à la carte, only menu of the day at 38 euro/person, 1 bottle of wine 28 euro while France is the wine country???. Breakfast is very basic, only marmalade, no cheese, eggs,... so in general the name "hotel" is not correct, it's a high class chambre-d'hôtes.
Excellent food. Quiet and silent. Excellent view from the Chateau and Poolside - ideal for romantic get-a-way trip. We found the trip down to the Rhone river and other areas somewhat long - 40-45 min.
The Chateau is located in the beautiful Ardeche region. It's quite an adventure to reach it but it's certainly worth it. Claude and Sylvie, the owners, are wonderful hosts and try to make you feel at home. My husband needed to go to a doctor and they even offered to go with us. Although English isn't spoken we still had no problem communicating. Sylvie cooks in the evening with lots of produce from her own garden and the food and setting was wonderful.
