Pros: I loved this little bed and breakfast. The owner was very helpful and answered a lot of questions and you could tell he wanted to provide the kind of service that would bring people back. I know I would definitely stay there again. The value for the money was the best I found throughout all the places that I stayed in France. An added bonus is it’s proximity to the hub of town.
Cons: Not much to say here. Only be aware of the fact that this is a bed and breakfast so it has more limited check in times. But definitely worth it!

Cons: WiFi is sub standard.

Pros: Excellent staff, location, awesome pillows and mattress, having a top sheet, huge room with a view!
Cons: Bathroom doors have a gap and dont lock. They were okay, but might not work for everyone.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: location; cleanliness; courtesies and attitude of staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location of the hotel was perfect for accessing sites in Bayeux and the free parking made dealing with the car a breeze when travelling out to the landing beaches, etc. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I wish breakfast was included in the rate (it was either 22 or 25 euro extra otherwise) but as the hotel is just adjacent to the main street getting breakfast was no problem. Our room had a view of the cathedral and overall it was a great experience.
Cons: Minor issues--no hair conditioner, could have used more towels but they were good about bringing more. Gym could have been bigger/better but this was actually one of the few hotels in the area that even had a fitness center so again a minor thing as we were just glad to have one.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Our room had an amazing view of the cathedral and was in a perfect location Staff was extremely helpful Breakfast included eggs cooked to order, cereals, yogurts, homemade jams, breakfast meat- was delightful
Cons: Wish Fitness room was better Bike was broken and weights poor
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An absolute pleasure. Probably the best hotel we ever stayed in.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully appointed hotel.
Cons: I liked everything
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was incredible. Extremely helpful, kind, and went out of their way to assist in any way possible. The location is also good - close to restaurants, but not on the main drag, and very short driving distance to many local attractions. The room was very clean.
Cons: While it seems like this is by far the best place in the area, it was still not luxurious. The bedding was not comfortable, and the room felt like it could use a bit of an update. (Admittedly, my husband and I split time between two large cities, and have very high hotel (and food) expectations.) That said, we were overall happy with our stay, and the staff really made up for any other shortcomings!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Sandrine was a fantastic host! We stayed in a room with a large bed and an attached room with a single bed. The place was immaculately clean, rooms were good size, and the decor was stylish. Breakfast was delicious and the company of the fellow guests and Sandrine added to our enjoyment. The location couldn't be better in the heart of Bayeux and proximity for visiting the historic D-Day sites. Highly recommend!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We’ve travelled and stayed in a lot of places booked through this site. This is definitely one of the best. The location, charm, facilities etc are exceptional. The standout however is the host, Sandrine. She is the best host I have met. Friendly, polite, helpful, funny and the breakfast she made was incredible (better than the restaurants in Bayeux). We had an amazing time in the area and much of that was to do with this great place.
Cons: Couldn’t fault the property.

Pros: Staying at Tour Louise is like staying with a friend. Sandrine goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable. From her freshly baked breakfast items, to dinner reservations and tips on which places to visit; she is a wealth of information and always steered us in the right direction. Take advantage of her picnic lunches! Amazing and better than any tourist trap you might stop into. We took ours to Mont Ste. Michel, it was perfect!
Cons: N/A
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A nice room in a great location over looking the Cathedral with local free parking included and very close to the town. We were made to feel very welcome and served a good breakfast.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We found La tour Louise in Booking.com. We arrived to Bayeux via the train from Paris. The hotel is about 10-15 minute walking distance. We arrived early and thought we would at least leave our luggage and return later to check in but Sandrine, our host, welcomed us warmly and said our room was ready. She even helped us carry our luggage up the stairs. Sandrine speaks English; she is charming, fun, and very helpful. She makes you feel at home the minute you meet her with her caring ways and delicious home made breakfasts. This hotel feels more like a Bed and breakfast. One afternoon we came back to the hotel wanting some tea and coffee, so we asked Sandrine for hot water for my tea bag. Sandrine insisted in making us fresh local tea and coffee. It is the best tea I have ever had. We had pre arranged tours to the Normandy D day beaches and Sandrine took it upon herself to call the touring companies on our behalf, arranging for our pick up from the hotel. The hotel is in a perfect location, walking distance to all tourist attractions, the Cathedral, the tapestry and museums. The rooms are a comfortable size. Our bathroom had a beautiful and close up view of the Cathedral. It is very quiet.
Cons: The only thing is that all the bedrooms are upstairs and there is no elevator. So going up the stairs with luggage could be tough.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Sandrine, what can I say? This lovely woman was absolutely wonderful. Easily the best hostess I have ever had and kind as can be. She was always willing to go the extra mile to tell me everything to expect for the 75th Anniversary of D-Day and helped make my trip incredible. Great conversation and knew all the ins and outs of Bayeux and Normandy. On top of that, she surprised me with a gift at the end that, out of all my trips across Europe, is my favorite thing I’ve taken home. The hotel was comfortable and had a very relaxing feel to it, with an incredible view of the cathedral. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Cons: Very minor since I had my own, but the restroom was missing soap/shampoo.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Sandrine is so lovely and helpful, she runs a fantastic guesthouse. We loved everything about it and wouldn’t hesitate to return.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A real guesthouse where I was feeling extremely confortable just after my first few minutes there. Sandrine, the owner is an excelent host who can help on anything thwt you need, from local restaurants to nice locations passing by right times to visit a certain place. French breakfast where you can enjoy the daily sweet that Sandrine will prepare for you daily. Extremely good sleep and very confortable beds. A place not to miss if you want to enjoy your stay in the lovely city of Bayeux and the wonderful surroundings.
Cons: I liked everything. No complaints :)

Pros: La Ferme de la Gronde was a perfect choice as it is central for the places we wanted to visit: the landing beaches and their surroundings, down to Mont Saint-Michel, and up to Honfleur. Pros: B&B in the old town of Bayeux, 3 minute walk from the cathedral. Close to restaurants and museums. Excellent communication with Yohann who met us at our arrival. Spacious bedroom with sitting area, separate kitchenette and bathroom. If you want you can use the hot tub.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our room was really a suite, nicely retrofitted into an old building. Very charming and comfortable. It is situated close to the old downtown and historical sites. The caveats are that the place is relatively hidden, check-in has to be arranged typically after 7 pm because there is no staff (the folks who run the place have day jobs) and the parking options are poor. There is a city park nearby but the locals utilize the free parking there. Also, this place is not for the handicapped. Even so, this is a wonderful place, especially if you intend to remains in Bayeaux for more than one day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is a set in a much older building with the villa done up very nicely and modern. The communication through text was always answered timely and helped because we could translate that way. It was one of our favorite stays on our European trip.

Pros: Location was excellent. Stylish room.
Cons: I had hoped for two beds.

Cons: The breakfast was lacking in flavor and variety, plus it was expensive
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic hotel with such lovely staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, Staff, room quality
Cons: Nothing, everything was perfect
6.0 Good
Pros: Main eating room and outdoor area was lovely.
Cons: the carpeting in the room was stained and the room itself was very "old". not appealing at all. The bathroom had been redone and was very nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel in town. The staff was friendly, charming, and so helpful. We would stay here again and have already recommended it to others.
6.8 Good
Pros: Attentive staff (though not enough of them). Nice salon - good spot to enjoy a drink. Large garage for bike parking.
Cons: Room very small and the decor very dated.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great! And the coffee was also great. Being American, it was nice to have a large cup of coffee and more protein options (eggs) for breakfast. We liked the location and the availability of parking.
Cons: The only issue is there is not air conditioning. Air room was on the first level, and it was not possible to leave the window open for air. There would be no privacy.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place to stay. Very well located and very helpful staff. Good breakfast and lovely rooms.
Cons: I liked everything.
4.5 Okay
Pros: The garden.
Cons: No tea or coffee making facilities. Lacking in bathroom amenities with a very poor hair dryer. Impossible to get boiling water to make tea.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was absolutely lovely and charming we were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel staff was super friendly and went out of their way to welcome us and make us comfortable. We met a smile at every turn while on the property!
Cons: Our room was in the attic making it a fairly good value. But unfortunately we arrived during a massive heat wave and the room was originally very warm with only one small fan to cool it off. The evening cooled quickly and our room became very comfortable.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was adorable! They were so helpful and lovely. They gave us the perfect dinner recommendation too.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay with Dominique and Nathalie. Our room was comfortable, clean, and beautiful, and we enjoyed our breakfast every morning with our hosts. Dominique and Nathalie went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable, taking us into Bayeux every morning and picking us up in the evening. We could not have had a better experience.
Cons: Please be aware that cell service is pretty non-existent and wifi is not available for guests. This location is ideal for someone who has their own car. Dominique and Nathalie were very gracious and helped us by picking us up and taking us places, but this is not a location for you if you want to walk outside your door and be greeted by three restaurants, a museum, and a bank. Ryes is a small, mostly residential village.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house athmospere, very friendly people running this chambre d’hotes.
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was very spacious and clean. Nice French countryside. Good breakfast. They had a refrigerator for us to use. They had a guest cooking area for visitor's to use. The hosts were nice.
Cons: If you are staying in the main house, it is a little difficult getting up the narrow stairs with your luggage. Their was no a/c (which we didn't mind), so we had the windows open to enjoy the cool spring air. Their rooster began his morning ritual at 5:38am and continued about every 15 minutes until we left around 8:30am. Needless to say we didn't sleep in : (
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Rooms clean, beds comfy, bathrooms clean with plenty of hot water. There was a fridge on the landing for our use which was a bonus. Breakfast was ok with lovely homemade jam.
Cons: Rooms and bathrooms weren’t serviced over 4 night stay, therefore small bin in bathroom full, and would have been nice to have the washbasin and toilet cleaned each day and not to have to ask for a spare toilet roll. Only minor really but didn’t detract too much from our stay. Might be normal but beds not made, although not a problem for us
7.5 Good
Pros: Great coffee at breakfast, lovely bread etc plus homemade jams.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Took the family to visit the Normandy battlefields so ideally located. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Gave us some good advice on where to take the kids swimming too. Rooms were spacious. Breakfast was fabulous.
Cons: We were located in the main family house but the guest kitchen was across the garden (in the additional guest annex) and there weren't any hot drink making facilities in our room. Not a show-stopper but we do like a brew... Also, we had a cot provided for our baby (11 months) but no high chair so if you are travelling with little ones I recommend you take one!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was very spacious and with a lovely rustic decoration. The shower was sooo confortable. So confortable, again. Both spaces very clean. The bed is very comfortable. The breakfast was delightful and of good quality. The inner garden between the room and the breakfast location is beautiful and with a lovely rabbit cutting the grass and being happy
Cons: The wifi signal was turning on and off constantly and we could not use it. I suppose It was a circumstantial thing though.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in an annex in the courtyard very private Restaurant in the village within walking distance
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and very comfortable bed.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely loved being able to get near the animals on the property, I was enthralled and our little mini home, I wanted to take it with me
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We (2 adults, 2 children) stayed here during our recent visit to Normandy (WWII sites). The location is very convenient to most of WWII sites and museums, hence the booking of this hotel via Booking.com. On arrival, the road you drive down appears to lead to no where, then all of a sudden ..... Boom! You see the entrance to this beautifully recently refurbished B&B. The gravel drive (not biker friendly) into the car park area conveniently locates you to the side of the premises where parking is available for guests. We were then greeted by Isabel who was able to communicate to us in English which helped our very poor French! She directed us to the family room which was very nicely presented and spacious. The room was clean and there was free coffee and tea facilities inside too. Outside the room are several acres of land with a horse, some donkeys an alpaca and some goat. The kids loved this as it was a little adventure for them! Breakfast was served between 8.30am - 9.45am each morning and whilst there was a nice selection of bread, croissants and pancakes - I would have liked to have seen some eggs and cheese available. On our final day, Isabel provided the kids with a small bag of carrots and bread to feed the animals which they absolutely loved. Overall the experience was very pleasant.
Cons: I would have liked to have seen some eggs and cheese available at the breakfast table or some more dairy / lactose free options.
9.5 Excellent

Pros: The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The hotel manager was very kind and helpful. It felt like coming into someone's home each night.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Receptionist really welcoming and helpful. Central location. Clean and tidy eastablishment
Cons: Parking on site would be nice but as It is in the city an understandable situation. Perhaps a concise indication of the parking available nearby would be good. E g. Free on street parking after 1900 until 09-30 the next day.
7.0 Good
Pros: The owner was very accommodating about check in. She had sent an email with he code to enter the front door, unfortunately we were traveling and did not get it. When we arrived it was after checking time, but she had a phone number posted and when we called she provided the code and then came down to greet us, even though she had already laid out the keys for our room on the desk. A very pleasant experience for us.
Cons: It would have been nice to have a fan in the room as it was a hot summer night, there is no A/C and street noise prevents you from sleeping with the windows open. With the windows closed it is very quiet. Also it would be a nice touch to provide a few extra pillows in the rooms. It would definitely add to the comfort of the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location! The staff is the best! Super friendly!

Pros: Our second stay here. Ideally placed to visit the DDay beaches and museums. Clean We stayed in the main building this time,if we go again ,we think the extra charge for the detached apartments is worth the money.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was an absolutely wonderful place to base our Normandy vacation. The huge Supermarket next door was so convenient for groceries & other needs. The location was also very central and convenient to everything we wanted to see. We would definitely stay there again.
Cons: There is nothing about this place to dislike. =)
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location to the town centre, supermarket, beaches. Great to have an apartment.
Cons: Surprised to walk in to what is really an old folks home renting out empty apartments.
7.0 Good
Pros: Good secure parking. Nice quiet swimming pool
Cons: A bit far out of the centre. It is a senior living facility renting out spare apartments - this was a surprise but apartments are roomy and well equipped. 10 minute walk to U mart and bakery. Well placed for Battle of Normandy museum and Bayeux military cemetery.
6.8 Good
Pros: location
Cons: the balcony was thick with dirt. I asked for it to be cleaned , but nothing was done . also the balcony was from the bed room not the lounge , And it had only one chair. The dish cloth looked like it was 20 years old ? the wash sponge was too dirty to use . we had to wash every item in the kitchen before we could use them (ie the cutlery was so dull ) when washed it shined .
6.3 Good
Pros: Reasonably priced. Secure parking.
Cons: Having stayed at another Domitys in Abbeville, we were really disappointed with the one in Bayeux. This one really felt like a retirement home with staff wearing what looked like nurses uniforms and pigeon holes with patient notes behind reception. You can only have dinner up until 20.00hrs which is also when room service stops. The location isn't near the main town and although we new that begore booking, hadn't quite appreciated the 30 minute walk just to get into town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very comfy stay in a great location
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very roomy and very clean.
Cons: Front desk closes at 7 and doesn't open up until 8.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Didn’t know it was also a retirement home
9.5 Excellent
Pros: So a friend and I booked this place without knowing it was elderly focused but the staff didn’t even mention it even on check in. We were an absolute oddity but the place is well equipped and the price was even better. So good we came back! The prices had risen but still, we were happy.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Stayed here a a group of three motorcycle riders on tour in Normandy , didn’t arrive until 2100 hrs but still got checked in ok Apartment was spotless , staff were pleasant breakfast was standard french fare which was ample for us Would certainly stay again

Pros: The lady at front desk was absolutely lovely. She was very attentive and helpful.
Cons: The room perhaps could do with a mini fridge but otherwise excellent.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Near train station. Adequate and clean
Cons: Room is rather small but it’s ok for a stopover one night stay
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We found our room was very clean, the beds were very comfortable with clean linen, the bathroom spotless with an excellent roomy shower. The breakfast room is very simple but clean and inviting and the breakfast included lovely yoghurt, fresh fruit, excellent fresh croissants and bread and plentiful confitures. The host and owner was extremely helpful, awaiting our late arrival from the ferry and helping us to find nearby street parking.
Cons: The hotel is situated directly opposite the train station and there are currently extensive tram works outside the property. The hotel is also undergoing refurbishment. Whilst none of this disturbed our sleep, our first impressions of the hotel were somewhat affected.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is only 2mins away from train and big stations. Mary and her staff were the best, very helpful and couldn’t do enough for us

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Chez Elena&Arnaud in Caen (Le Beau Site), you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Festyland and Caen Memorial. Featured amenities include multilingual staff and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our hosts were extremely nice and helpful. Everything was spotlessly clean and aesthetic. Elana’s breakfast was very delicious and generous. We enjoyed sitting at breakfast and talking to the other visitors. We had a really lovely stay.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Elena is a very nice host, breakfast was awesome, and there's a fantastic cat named Casper. Cats at hotels always get an extra plus from me.
Cons: My booking.com info said check-in was from 4pm which was when I arrived, but it seems check-in was from 5pm so a little confusion there, but no big deal. I never read reviews before making a booking, and the hotel was more of an Airbnb experience than Bed & Breakfast, ie like staying in someone's home. I wouldn't have chosen this option if I'd have known in advance (just personal preference), but everything was great anyway.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The host is very helpful and friendly.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Elena made a nice breakfast (fresh crossaints, pain du chocolat, yoghurt, fruit), welcomed us very nicely and the place was cosy - the double rooms are in the house where the hosts also live, we stayed in a small separate house which contains two family rooms (on the left in the dinner photo). There was everything - double bed + upper bed of the bunk, nice bathroom, table and kitchen with all supplies. We made dinner and enjoyed it in the garden. The value for money is superb.
Cons: The room is quite tight, but it wasn’t a problem for us.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Good breakfast
Cons: Need to wait to long at the gate Very small room
7.5 Good
Pros: Exceptionally clean and welcoming once in the property.
Cons: Rear door lock for some reason couldn’t get out and hosts couldn’t speak English!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and pleasant owners and Elena makes great brekfast! Nice and quiet area. Beautiful cat!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean, well-located property with welcoming hostess and host. All worked as hoped and breakfast was typically continental- surprising, eh?
Cons: The sofa was tricky. Sit on it and it could flip out from underneath you. Though perhaps that was part of the fun.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good reception Very nice home Well located Good breakfast
Cons: It's a pity to not get the possibility to cook Expected departure time too early (to my mind)
