Pros: We loved the property, the hosts and the freshly baked breakfast!! Everything was first class! Plus the hosts make you feel as if you were part of their family, they really take care of you!!! Great advice about the area and restaurants! If going to taste wine, make sure you book the tastings well in advance, the host Isabelle can do this for you. Loved it and would definitely come again.

Pros: Everything was perfect. Isabelle makes you feel at home and goes out of her way to make your stay pleasant. Best breakfast ever, great location. We will definitely go back.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Isabelle was charming, we were shown the house, facilities and rooms and then given a beer/wine once we had settled in etc. Isabelle arranged a taxi to Saint Emillion and booked us a table at a recommended restaurant - both were excellent. Breakfast was very good with a choice of food and drinks. A warm welcoming accommodation close to the river warranting a stay we would say of 2 days minimum to do it justice ,

Pros: We had such an amazing stay at Château de Courtebotte. Isabelle was a wonderful hostess and makes delicious breakfasts as well as being super helpful with booking winery visits and activities. The pool and play area for the children was perfect as well as our spacious 3 story loft that was the most comfortable and clean stay of our entire 3 week trip. I highly recommend the Château for beauty, comfort, location, etc and would love to return! Do not hesitate to book if you are reading this review!

Pros: The property was beautiful, our room was stunning with an awesome bathroom. The host was very informative about the local area & loved to chat. Pierre was a chef before opening the B & B, thus the food was excellent!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our room was spotless with a funky wet room. It was cool at night which was great. The swimming pool was a great escape form the heat of the day. The owners were very pleasant, friendly and just made you feel relaxed. Their young daughter served us at breakfast and evening, she did a great job and has her parents pleasant laid back style! The guy runs the place and seems to do it so effortlessly; me I would be running around like a demented idiot. We had meal there which was excellent and would thoroughly recommend it. My wife is fussy and said the meat has to be burned (no blood) and if he served fish, no bones ,head etc i.e. it can be fish but not look like it!!) So with these limitations he served us a great meal the scallops were fantastic (she had never tried them before!! She loved them -thanks for that!! 30 years of marriage and still trying to extend her food choices!! Oh parents be patient and encourage when young!!) Vineyards abound, the towns (St. Emillion to name one)are nearby and this is lovely escape to the country! I would recommend eating there but let him know when booking, especially for the first night as saves you going out and searching and he does need notice. (Suggest it is put on the website as we would have stayed to eat both nights but arrived too late to give him notice.)

Pros: A beautiful room in a beautiful house with charming hosts.
Cons: The location is actually peaceful and bucolically pretty, but it's the middle of nowhere so be prepared to drive for you dinner. (The hosts actually offer Table d'Hotes as well as Chambres d'Hotes, but I didn't take them up on it.)

Pros: We enjoyed staying at Beau-Sejour for one week in Sept 2018. The house preserves historic look and feel while providing new facilities, it’s s very clean and very well maintained! Our room was fairly large with windows opening to a garden. The room was cleaned and bed made everyday. The hosts :Maureen and Jon , are very nice and friendly people, going extra steps to make our stay a pleasant experience. They answered many questions we had and helped in planning our daily trips. Without their advise we wouldn’t see as much and experienced a “local” life.

Pros: Everything!!! They were the most lovely couple who couldn't do more for you. It felt like I was staying with my gran and grandpa. They even took one of our party to the pharmacy after she had an allergic reaction. They were so so kind. The best service I've received.
Cons: In one of the rooms, there was no mirror apart from in the bathroom.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were clean and neat, recently refurbished, shower had strong pressure, there were towels for the pool in the room, the shared kitchen is large and had a fridge, microwave and coffee machine for use 24/7. The hosts are wonderful and we had dinner with them and other guests one night where they cooked traditional French cuisine. The gardens are green and well maintained and the pool is wonderful after a hot day. The pets (Judy the dog) and Bombi the donkey are an added bonus. The hosts are amazing and nothing was any trouble. They cooked wonderful breakfast as well (crepes and fresh bread and apricot cake and jams) and also had wine available for purchase to save the hassle of choosing from the many varieties on offer in the area. Everything was fantastic and Valerie and Vincent were amazing hosts.
Cons: The only thing I would add was that there are no screens on the doors that go out to the pool so if you wanted it have the door open at night to let in some fresh air, the mosquitoes would eat you alive. This is just a suggestion.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Valerie and Vincent are lovely and made.us feel really at home. They provided us with space and a delicious breakfast of local honey and croissants. Valerie also recommended very good restaurants in the area which she also booked for us. I recommend stating for relaxation and we are planning our return!

Cons: You need to be aware there is air conditioning but was not a problem
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Our room was quite large and had a nice view of the garden. Breakfast was included and was delicious, with home made jams and yogurt, croissants and bread. It is served family style so you get to start your day off with an interesting conversation with other guests. Value for money.
Cons: The fact that the property does not take credit cards should be placed more prominently on Booking.com's website. You have to scroll to the end of the listing to find it. It took us an hour to find an ATM and get back to the hotel to check out. Inconvient for us and embarrassing to the owner. Also, call ahead for parking. There is not much of it.

Pros: Absolutely wonderful! We had the family room, and it was the best we have ever seen. Not only it is very large and confortable, it is decorated in a way that makes you feel in a dream! The property itself is stunning, immerse in the green, it was very sad to leave! My kids loved it too, from the garden to the breakfast (amazing hand-made chocolate muffins and bread!). The owners are super nice. I would highly raccomend it!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we arrived our hosts Nicky and Denis did everything to make our stay as comfortable and lovely as possible. Beautiful and unique property in the heart of the Bordeaux countryside; everything you need for gorgeous romantic getaway. The room was spacious and well-presented, amazing pool-side area, and to top it all off the property has a tree house hotel room! We'll be back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Denis and Nikki were lovely friendly hosts. Enjoyed a refreshing swim in the sparkling pool on arrival We spent the night in the delightful tree house and enjoyed our basket breakfast on the tree house deck in the morning before continuing on our cycling holiday. Can also recommend the nearby restaurant Auberge St Jean as excellent. Tree house was fun but you need to be fit enough to get up the stairs and would not be able to take a lot of luggage up - we were travelling lightly with only a bike pannier each.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely proprietors. Despite the language barrier we made ourselves understood. Very nice pool and garden for relaxing.
Cons: The only thing we found difficult was finding the accommodation. It is well out of Rauzan.

Ideal for a couple of nights to explore this lovely area.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location, location, location. Pool, food, location
Cons: For really hot days air con in the rooms would be good. We had a fan and it was just about ok but had we stayed the previous night it would have been uncomfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful building, great staff and food.
Cons: Nothing
5.5 Okay
Pros: The pool and the view
Cons: An unfriendly welcome at check-in spoiled our whole impression of the place. During our 2 night stay not one staff member approached us to ask how we were getting on etc. We booked a suite and were given a round 2 level room (maybe a former pigeonnaire?) which consequently had small windows and was uncomfortably hot as there was no air conditioning, just a very small fan to blow the hot air around! I suspect we were the last to arrive on the check-in day and so drew the short straw. Such a pity because the setting is wonderful, with lovely views, a pool and allegedly a pretty good restaurant!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful staff, beautiful surroundings, good food and reasonably priced wine.
Cons: The low ceilings in part of our bedroom were a challenge for me at 6ft 3in!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the peace and quiet of the area - being able to walk in the countryside without having to take the car. The swimming pool was particularly appreciated on a hot afternoon.
Cons: nothing really!

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great restaurant .... very tasty dishes Nice pool Nice atmosphere Nice staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a small hotel, separated from the village by some distance, but in a very pleasant setting. Our planned morning visit to a vineyard fell through as there were no staff available to guide us so we got to the Melchior a little after 2pm, officially too late for lunch. However, the patronne took pity on us and presented us with a delicious meal of steak frites and salad. That evening we realised just how popular the restaurant was when every table was taken by French locals of all ages. Again we really enjoyed our meal and the hospitality of every member of staff.
Cons: I really can't think of any downside.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location in the heart of the wine region. A very tasty and generous breakfast and a decent sized room for our family of four.
Cons: Wish we had checked the opening times for the restaurant, it would have been lovely to eat at the hotel though we managed well enough with our 'picnic' and the owners kindly lent us crockery and cutlery.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, surrounded by vineyards. The staff were very friendly and accommodating (I arrived a bit early but was able to check in nevertheless). The continental breakfast was a real treat. The room was 'cosy' but comfortable and clean. Overall a great place to stay.

7.0 Good
Pros: The Friday evening meal that we had, when it was eventually served, was well presented, and very tasty indeed
Cons: It seemed to us that towards the end of the main season, the restaurant waiting staff had maybe taken a day off or holiday? Whilst the mature lady who served us was very pleasant and friendly, there were simply too many customers for her to serve all on her own. The end result was three courses from the set menu took well over 2 hours to receive and eat.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Delightful hotel restaurant in the heart of the vines
9.3 Excellent

Pros: Superb room with doors onto a patio with chairs, table and umbrella. Excellent bathroom with walk-in shower. Room was large with chairs and a desk. Dinner was excellent and modestly priced. Pros: Very nice room and public rooms in a quiet location. Very friendly and helpful owners. They let me park my motorcycle in their garage. Choice of food and wine was very good and well presented.
Cons: Restaurant closed on Sunday evening, but then it is France and to be expected.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The family were v welcoming and adjusted our reservation for us to accommodate our adult daughter which was really helpful. The dinner in the evening was excellent
Cons: I thought that there was an indoor pool but it was just a Jacuzzi with sauna but it was clean- this did cost 10 euros per person to use.

Pros: Emanuel & Christine were very pleasant - they're social but don't crowd you. A very well balanced pair of hosts: bright, informative and good to talk with. Top marks! The location is wonderful too - beautifully set in Sainte-Terre, down by the enormous but peaceful Dordogne river. You couldn't ask for more. I rented a car and found getting up and down to St Emilion and surrounds quick and easy as a result. I'm not sure how accessible all of this would be to non-drivers but I'm sure it would still be worth the effort.
Cons: It may be time to upgrade the towels!

Pros: The host and hostess were welcoming and very accommodating. Dinner was terrific, cooked by the host and served skillfully by their young son.

This is a really authentic French country experience. Véronique and Thor Inge were fantastic hosts. Friendly and helpful. Great value for money too.
