Warm welcome and the fact that the reception team took the trouble to give us the same room that we had on our last stay.
Very friendly and helpful staff at all times. Nice to have a garden to sit in. Absolutely excellent restaurant is attached - Le Petit Prince. - outstanding. Had we known how good it was, we would have taken demi-pension. Noisy traffic on road along the beachfront promenade. Buses into town and back very unreliable. Fine for someone fit enough to walk everywhere, but my husband is lame.
We were impressed by the location, condition of the property, and the fact that the staff was friendly and capable of speaking language. The hair dryer in the bathroom was ancient and did not work very well.
We were staying in this hotel for one night. All was excellent. The grand room with very comfortable bain, terasse with view on the beach, comfortable bed and a lot of Televesion channels from all over the world. The restaraunt in the hotel is really nice with good kitchen and cosy atmosphere. You really should go there and taste the different dishes. At reception you can get free map of the Menton city. The road to the hotel is nicely indicated in the city, easy to find. All was nice.
the comfort of the hotel, clean and nice staff. However,a bit noisy from the traffic in front of the hotel
Minibar was ampty. It was very very noisy.
convenience and excellent service we could not make the air conditioning work in our room
Excellent breakfast on the hotel terrase next to sea.
The people at the front desk. Exterior of property is good. The breakfast staff; the room and the hotel interior
Breakfast was very good for the price. Breakfast staff very accomadating.Room was spotless & comfortable.Internet was only available in the lobby & very poor quality. Would definetly return to this hotel. Views amazing accross from the beach. Internet only available in the lobby, very poor quality.
Very clean room Bed to hard, need a mattress topper available for the more delicate back. All french motels the same
The location is nice and for the price that we paid, the hotel is wonderful. Good choice! I recommand it! Nothing special! Maybe the people from the reception.....not so professional!
would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in bedroom
Excellent reception staff. Clean and comfortable room. Good breakfast. Lovely spa area.
Very good value for money, nice room with comfortable bedi The room smelt of cigarettes
Friendly staff, spotless, fine breakfast and comfortable bed. Great view. Wi-fi did not work in my room.
Location - right across the street from the sea. No sand beach only pebble/rock beach Sauna wasn't working. Jacuzzi was not very hot.
Room rates is reasonable and good location
Excellent rooms, great location
the location was superb
Very good standard of room - extremely pleasant staff and wonderful location. Not really - it lived up to expectations
Very pleasant room with sea view. Friendly staff
Excellent location, nice gardens and outdoor area. Food was fine and restaurant staff helpful. Lift inadequate for size of hotel. No English speaking channels on TV. The only important downside to our hotel stay was the indifferent attitude of the female reception staff, who in our opinion are poorly trained.
wonderful location on the sea front, stunning looking hotel, large room and bathroom, good dining room for breakfast
The location was great and the facade facing the sea was reminicent of past times and we liked that We thought that there was not enough service staff - we waited a long time to get a drink on the terrace in the garden - some of the seating was not clean. The next day we sat on the terrace but left as we had waited a long time for service. The breakfast was not displayed nicely - and the bread etc. basket was not filled up once while we took breakfast.
the location of the hotel.
Staff changed the room without the veranda to with the veranda.
Quiet location. Modern clean hotel with friendly staff
A very bright, welcoming and attractive hotel
Location, easy parking, room views not at all !
it was such a relaxing hotel, everything at hand ie the pool drinks food, the beach front resturant was fantstic it made our 10th wedding anniversary everything we hoped for, much inproved on our stay 12yrs ago. one complaint about the room, the towel rail on the wall of the bath meet myn and my husbands head a few time
staffs are so friendly.but except summer so quiet.
Nice, clean room overlooking the sea, good buffet breakfast, nice environment. Very small parking facilities.
Very clean and comfortable, bus stop close by and the beach is opposite the hotel, excellent location
friendly and helpful staff- breakfast very good and good standard of room -everything worked The location is superb for views across the bay but the dual carriage way outside is very noisey -not helped by traffic lights just outsidmeaning traffic is constantly braking and accelerating. The swimming pool was so cold as to be unusable.
Absolutely everything - beautiful, clean room, super breakfast in the garden, excellent, friendly and helpful staff, excellent location in Menton.
Rooms were very well decorated and clean. Some (2) members of staff were not very friendly/helpful.
The view and position were wonderful
The location, the breakfast and the appearance of the hotel. It feels lilke the French Reviera, right there on the water and nice beach. The breakfast is worth whatever they charged, I don't recall, but really excellent. Overall, great ambiance. Nice, big tv, english- language channels, also German, Italian, and of course French. Good internet access. We booked the standard double room, and recommend the upgraded rooms. We stayed in the upgraded room last year and it was way nicer; but the standard room is adequate with still ok furnishings. REally crummy tv remote, the plus-minus kind that forces you ro scroll channels; clumsy when there are many channels.
Beach access directly across from the hotel. Rooms were old and tired as compared to the new lobby/bar area and on-line photos. This hotel needs an exterminator!
Excellent stay and not overpriced, unlike many of the hotels we stayed at on this trip to France. I paid more for rooms in moderate 3 star motels than I have paid in a good hotel in central London. Even accounting for the weak pound, prices are silly, except for the Vicoria which was the lowest price we paid on the whole 2 week trip.
- location, excellent breakfast, beach just across the street - car parking is a misunderstanding. The hotel should note, that they have 2 places, in spite of this they are trying to pack 4 cars. You should rather treat it as " no parcing" hotel. The rest was really good.
Near sea. Not far from Monaco (5 minutes by car)
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The reception/dining area and terrace is beautifully redecorated. The breakfast was first class, although a bit expensive if they want to attract more clients. The noise from the traffic on the sea-facing side of the hotel is something they need to address. Apparently they will be fitting double-paned glass in November '09.
The view from our balcony over the sea was lovely and the lounge/bar area that had been upgraded was lovely to sit and have your breakfast in. Only part of the hotel has been upgraded the other part is shabby, carpets very stained, we found an adult toy under our bed! Make sure you book a room that is overlooking the sea and that it is in the upgraded part.
It was close to the beach / promenade, clean and stuff was helpful. The bathroom needed renovation but at least it was clean.
Free WiFi, beautiful view to sea
Nothing exluding the garden room is very old and need repair, very expensive, room ii very small
It had a car park that was only €7 for the night. Not bad so close to Monte Carlo Bar. Bedroom. Wifi. Breakfast. Not good!
Rooms were clean, staff were friendly, but not all spoke much English. Hotel staffs understanding of their internet offering was confused. They started by subscribing us to the local service, which never worked, but the hotel has its own wireless net (reception/lounge area only) and that was okay. Many of the staff did not speak much English, but luckily on the day we arrived the girly working reception spoke excellent English.. an okay hotel for a weeken break.
Location excellent, staff friendly.Approach to hotel and exterior promising but inside it was shabby. Our room was awful, paper peeling off ceiling, badly scuffed walls. TV cable running around door frame to socket. Found it was a hotel for groups of elderly French people not really for independant travellers. Very disappointed. See above , very shabby and an unwelcoming bedroom.
Family of four. Room pleasant and clean but in need of redecoration. Gardens in front of the hotel beautiful. Staff pleasant. Not much English spoken, but we didn't ask for them too. Very hard to find even with SatNav. My son happened to spot the name as we drove past the unsignposted lane the 3rd or 4th time round. Also the hotel bar closed even though my husband and I were still in there.
View from the balcony and a nice garden. Possibility for a garage. Not a three star hotel. Rooms and furniture from a one star hotel. Allmost all of the staff did not speak any English.
I enjoyed the location with the beautiful garden. The room was a good size and it was quiet. Most of the other guests seemed to belong to a holiday club for pensioners. Some noise from activities with the holiday club.Felt a bit like being in an old peoples' home.
Elective activities offered; good atmosphere in the foyers and at breakfast on the terrace; good standard of breakfast; charming local French customs displayed in the hotel and park Not really; the bar served wine in cognqac glasses. Overall we thought it was an authentic, unique and wonderful experience. Our names should have been accurately recorded. My husband is Mr. Jeffrey Hallebone and I am Professor Erica Hallebone. Never mind!
Overall appearance; location; staff; facilities Could do ith international tv Channels
Perfect peace and quiet. No music in the ceiling!! Lack of tissues in bedroom, smallness of bathroom
Very good place to stay although a little worn at the edges. No air con and car park was a public car park, not the hotel's.
Close to center Reception working hours, but that's general in France
Centrally located. Affordable. Noise. Meager breakfast. Reception often closed.
Kind hotel stuff (they waited for almost 2h for our late check-in), good location, good wifi. Lack of air conditioning was slightly annoying.
Very good position. Not so easy to find a place where to park, but it's ok.
Parking was only 7.50 and only 2 blocks away. What was updated, the calender????
the bed and the pillow Some small shower issues but not to bothers me so much
Visiting areas along the coast and going up into the hills It would have been nice to have a small lounge to sit in. Also lift was extremely small!
Owner is a very welcoming person Breakfast not included
cleanliness rather noisy street
Great stay, lovely large room, very clean and fantastic staff. Raymond on the front desk was very helpful, would stay again Not a thing
Excellent location: easy, short walk to seafront, shops etc. Compact room size ok, nice bathroom with proper windows and good shower. Excellent breakfast buffet included in the price, including freshly squeezed juice.Parking available for a fee, but great to be able to lock car off the street.Lovely team at reception, charming and friendly: they spoke to us in French, which was great as I speak French...so often one is almost ignored and has to accept their version of English as they think it is better than my French!Notice that facilities in foyer for families, including games, toys and modern gadgets. Also at b'fast ther was child-sized crockery etc. A shelf positioned very close to the bedroom door, with a sharp corner at head height was a potential head-slicer...really dangerous and very poor design idea. This could hurt anyone, young or old and would result in blood !
the shower was broken before our arrival and we should keep with the hand it to clean us... quite incredible. Half of lights were broken and no one changed them during our stay
The yellow and white contemporary design bedroom! Loved the self service breakfast and out of hours tea and coffee machine. Road traffic was a bit noisy.
We liked the contemporary design, very clean and modern.
I enjoyed the balcony, proximity to the waterfront, and helpful staff.
the hotel was new and clean. we got a spacious suite at the 7th floor. only week point tiles on the floor. this is too cold to walk bare feet. I suppose the other rooms have moquette.
Its central location, within easy walking distance of all major attractions. Price when compared to Monaco hotels.
It was really useful to have kitchen facilities so I could prepare my own food I would have preferred a proper bed rather than a sofabed, although it was comfortable.
Lovely, bright clean rooms in a bustling setting, ideal for shops, bars and restaurants.
Ideal location, right next to the Beausoleil and Monaco markets; proper French / Monegasque experience, with the sound of the motos buzzing about, going to the boulangerie, etc, and one minute walk to Boulevard des Moulins.
The staff was friendly and very helpful. The location worked well for us to access the beach, the casino, and the local shops. The swimming pool was much smaller than anticipated.
24 hr. check-in, affability of reception personnel, peace and independence as well as access to Room Service from local restaurant all contributed to an easy stay.
The proximity to city center activities, restaurants, and the beach was very nice. We also took advantage of the kitchen facilities and had a wonderful breakfast on the outside patio.
The beautiful setting in Monaco, convenience to Grimaldi Forum, shopping, food!
nice placement, 5 min fm Casino Sq. It was pretty hard to find them, I couldn't find "Adagio" as they haven't wrote it on the signboard
great room, you can order from restaurant
hotel staff - very poor english language knowledge
We liked the location in particular, the spirit from the hotel and staff,my wife really enjoyed the breakfast. the parking spot, since there is to little space for all the guests and sombody dented my car on the last night
the staff were pleasant and the location convenient for the autoroute the difficulty of getting into the shower and the very small room
Stop over while travelling to italy. Car parking not secure and located a little way from the hotel on a derelict land.
1000m from Casino there was parking, but there was any available for us
very poor internet signal
very clean, tidy, comfortable bed, very convenient to all of Monaco, friendly and helpful staff, good selection of utensils in the kitchen, clean and user-friendly bathroom, our room at the back was very quiet we would have liked a toaster in the kitchen, and more than one English channel on the TV would be nice
clean, modern and comfortable no shower, we stayed for 3 weeks without a cleaner or clean towel and sheets
Room more comfortable, brighter and spacious than anticipated. Welcoming staff. Breakfast got us up and running fine.
It is in a good location that allows access to the train and all parts of the city. There was a mold problem in the building. Some of the staff acted as if you were there for them, versus the other way around.
Very clean, modern, helpfull and nice staff
the room wasnt ready until after 18:00 and i was tiny!
It's close to Monaco, the price is very good and it's clean. As a woman, travelling on her own, i did pretty feel safe at the hotel. Saying that, i would have liked a chain on the door, because it did cross my mind that that would have made me feel very secure. I stayed at the hotel before and liked it for the reasons said above. This time, no fault to the hotel, i was on top of a building plot and because of that i could not sit on my balcony and enjoy the sunshine and the vieuw.
Very clean and very new and a great price No fans in the toliet room or the shower room.
Location of the the hotel was excellent and the staff were very helpful Lack of parking.
Warm welcome from Patrica on reception when we arrived who was very helpful throughout as was Stephanie. The breakfasts were great with such a good choice. The room was very comfortable and clean and the sea view was spectacular. The bus just outside the hotel which took us to the airport was very convenient. We would stay at this hotel again.Thank you all for making our short holiday so enjoyable.
nice clean and convenient and good sound proofing for being on a main street; where skooters and motorcycles try to keep people awake all night.
Very helpful staff. Sea view was best decision. Woke to waves crashing against rocks. Ahhhhhhh. If anything I would have preferred to be a little closer to the old town but the ten minute walk would not prevent my staying there again
Nice atmoshere - skilled personel
Nice hotel, good location, nice sun bathing area No
Seafront location and beach views. Helpful staff.
Great location - right on the beach front. Lovely views from room and balcony. Loved the whirlpool. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast.
The hotel makes sense if you stay at the restaurant, which offers a superb view onto the valley and village and a gourmet menu that is sophisticated enough while not being daunting at all. It's a calm, almost recluse place apart from the busy coast life, ideal for a getaway.
Small, family operated hotel with personal service. Excellent food and very nicely situated outside restaurant with great view. Charming old building and nice surroundings. A bit warm during the night (no AC), not much to do in the area except take longer or shorter walks
Everyone at this hotel was ridiculously nice and sweet. They made use amazing food at the drop of a hat any time we asked for it, and were extremely helpful. It was a little hard to get some places without a car. The bus stop is very close, and there will be cabs, but this is not like a huge city where cabs are always easy to find and walking is easy.
The hotel was right across from them beach and right on the pedestrian downtown mall. Plenty of restaurants close by. Even though it was right in the middle of things it was quiet at night. We went to sleep at night listening to the sea. The parking situation is horrible.I had to circle around five times to even find a spot to unload. Very Frustrating. There was an underground public parking fairly close by, and they do give a discount for hotel guests.
Staff was friendly and helpful, provided us with maps of the area. Suggested we park in the streets as this would save parking fees. Room was clean and bathroom facilities were good. Great for a one or two night stay. The room was large, but a bit sparse, could do with more furniture, a couple of chairs and a table would have been nice. A little tricky to find, down several side streets, but a good price for easy proximity to nice and Monte Carlo
The staff was exceedingly friendly, helpful and informative. The location was perfect in that it was within a two block walk of the bus stop serving other cities along the Riviera. Another short walk led to the train station serving Italy.
24/h reception, very nice staff, clean and cosy rooms, very nice neighbourhood, 50m to train station, 100m to bus stop, close to the sea. Nice alternative for people who come to Monaco.
The hotel is less than 5 minutes away from the beach with a really nice pastry shop on the way. You can park in the street (rather than using the hotel parking). There was some sort of fungus on the bathroom ceiling (eew!) and no hot water (just luke-warm). The room was not inviting at all! You could see sb had spent less to no time at all furnishing it. The bed was impossible to sleep in - very hard and uncomfortable making it impossible to sleep (and I am able to sleep in almost all conditions). I'm not sure the ac worked - it was very cold in the room and changing the ac settings changed nothing. I would have preferred to sleep on the beach in a sleeping bag - it would have been more comfortable. We have traveled around Europe and Asia a lot and this is by far the worst place we have stayed in. do not stay here!
The hotel is very close to montecarlo. 500m far there is the train station, in 10 minutes you can arrive in Monacò centre. The owner give us a parking place for free!! Unfortunatly we were in Monacò for the UEFA Super cup and our team Inter lost, but it's not Le gran cap fault! ;)
The nearness to the beach The room is so small,
I booked Room with two single beds, 13 to 16 square meters. for 2 person but have room only 6 square meters I am surprised how they could without informing me took money from my account for this room and let me pay again cash when leaving this hotel it is scandal Please explain it to me.
nothing i checked out after 2 days as hotel was awful its well situated but it is shabby and uncomfortable
not much, it was clean rooms very small, plugs for adapters in hard to reach places, they advertise as a Hotel, it is not a hotel but a residence that rents rooms
