Pros: We enjoyed this boutique hotel very much. It's an older building with plenty of character and is interesting because all of rooms are different. We had a suite on the first floor, the room was extremely spacious with high beamed ceilings and 2 bathrooms which is somewhat unique. There was a bit of noise from the floors creaking when the upstairs neighbors walked around but it was delightful to our ears and is definitely part of the ambiance we were looking for in Beaune. Location is inside the walled city and close for restaurants, wine shops and other shopping. We look forward to our next visit

Pros: Excellent hotel very well located for visiting the old town. Staff were helpful, rooms were very nice.
Cons: Several guests had dogs, including in areas with food, and we could hear one barking frequently from our bedroom.

The 4-star Hotel Abbaye de Maizières is ideally situated in the historical center of Beaune, a picturesque town in eastern France where the main wine auction is held every year. This residence is known as Maizières Abbey because it was owned by the monks of Maizières Abbey from 1301 until the French Revolution, when the Church's properties were confiscated. Broken up in 1789, Petit Maizières Abbey has, for some years, been largely reassembled by Bruno Epailly, and now accommodates a beautiful boutique hotel.
Pros: The room and bath was huge but lacked charm. Cozy bar, nice restaurant, lovely outside space at the back.
Cons: Although we had a huge terrace with nice outdoor furniture, our expectation of 'view of the vineyards' was marred by the close proximity of the highway out front.

We had heavy luggage, and stayed on the second floor. I think we could have asked to have had our bags brought down, but i made 2 trips and it was ok. This is not a big hotel chain with lots of staff. I was traveling with a college friend - they gave us 2 adjacent rooms with a separate private hallway entry, so that was nice (36&37) , and in a quiet corner. This hotel is close to the town center , and close to vineyards. It has a cozy reception/bar area where you can sit and have a nightcap (til 1030) . They close their gates at 1030 , but you have a 4-digit code, written on your keychain, to come in. It worked easily. There was no problem with our reservation - they were ready and waiting for us, about 5pm. If you get there after a certain time (10pm? 1030?) they leave a key for you. Be sure to ask them what part of the hotel your room is located. We saw some guests arriving after hours and they were looking for their room (9) . Beaune, France is a delightful village. Definitely worth a visit.
Pros: Location was great .. quiet, yet close to everything. The bathrooms were very clean , new , and spacious. We rented a car for a couple of days , The hotel has ample, convenient off - street parking. (5 Euros/day, and i think that is avg.)
Cons: Not sure why, but they didn't have washcloths - they provided basic towels and hand towels .. i never asked either. Heated towel racks (didn't use.) The optional breakfast (11Euro/ea.) was ok, but we decided after 2 days to go somewhere else.
Pros: Old world, charming hotel? Accommodating staff (we arrived late). Big bathroom. Wonderful courtyard for autos off the main street. The breakfast is worth the extra fee!
Cons: Relatively, small room. Needs more power outlets.
Pros: Close to city center, helpful staff
Cons: Room was pleasant, but dark
