A lovely Belle Époque house, hardly changed but for modern comforts, so full of character. Simply furnished room, very comfortable bed and original period en-suite bathroom, all beautifully clean. Ann Marie, happy to impart her extensive knowledge of the area, encouraged us to walk around the garden and then the village and riverside, a beautiful peaceful walk, very relaxing after a long journey. She then served us a delicious home cooked 4 course dinner. Breakfast was simple, plentiful, also fresh and sustaining for our onward journey. We look forward to returning another time.
Nothing! We felt at home.
An old house lived in by a family and they rent out a room and a common space as well as providing breakfast. Parking is nice too. About 2 hours outside of Paris and there are some very scenic towns nearby. Food was very good although I am not a foodie (I think others would have thought it great). Our hostess was very nice and helpful and knowledgeable about the area and things to see and the artist "colony" in the area. Way more to do than we had time for.
Not much to not like ... it felt a little old and worn but that is what we wanted. I am not a big hotel fan. I prefer the out of the way and quiet places and that is exactly what this is along with a beautiful area and friendly hostess.
Beautiful and serene surrounding
Lovely house and we were made very welcome - a bit difficult to find as the post code actually relates to the whole area and is not specific to the building - we had to be talked in! We have been to the area before and knew that there weren’t many restaurants around so had booked this one because it was advertised as having a restaurant nearby, unfortunately this has now closed - the owner kindly booked another restaurant for us in Chablis, which was good, but having to get in the car and drive for another 20minutes to get there, after a whole days driving was not what we planned!
