10.0 Excellent
Pros: Helpful owners, and very friendly. We were on three motorcycles and they told us to park them undercover when we arrived. Always a good start. Carman was so keen to help us, looking at weather forecasts and saying we could stop another night if needed, even at short notice. The hotel was clean and the bathroom spotless with a powerful and modern shower. We walked into the town in the evening and what a stunning place it is, as beautiful as any place I've visited and virtually empty when we visited. Somewhere I'd like to spend more time. The breakfast was excellent and if you stay, you must try the local honey, it's making me hungry now just thinking about it. Great value, great people, great stay.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Situated on the edge of the town it was very peaceful and there was an ample enclosed terrace for relaxing with complimentary tea and coffee. The buffet breakfast was ample but no hot food which couldn`t be expected for 4 Euros.
Cons: The 5 minute walk into town for an evening meal would be problematic in very wet weather. There is no lift in the property.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was our favourite hotel we used during our motorbike tour of northern Spain. Very comfortable beds in a traditional Spanish room. The couple who run this hotel are warm and welcoming. It is perfectly located for a five minute walk into town where you can find traditional tapas and good wine and beer. The owner makes his own wine and honey, both of which are highly recommended. Fabulous breakfast provided, Including home made jam. On site parking available. Will definitely use this hotel again when next in the area.
Cons: Nothing

There was a lovely garden to relax in. The breakfast was excellent and included home-made bread and jam. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The location was great: Covarrubias is a truly lovely old town with lots of country walks around it. We look forward to return visits.

Cons: Nothing.
7.5 Good
Pros: Everything clean, neat and Pleasant.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The building is a stunning restoration of the original convent. Everything top quality and tasteful.
Cons: Finding the convent. It is easy to get confused with other religious buildings in the area. A single line prompt stating the building is on its own and well signposted off main road, not in village, would do fine
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic old convent, an attraction in itself. Staff are very friendly. Silos is one of the most beautiful villages in Spain. Went for a great bike ride - no charge. Stayed in (superior) room. Large. Two comfortable single beds. Chairs tables etc. Nice bathroom with shower. Didn't try food. Ate instead at the fantastic Casa Galín in Covarrubias which is a short trip away by car. Well worth the trip for the all-included 25 euro roast lamb weekend special and to see this truly beautiful village. The river in Covarrubias has a lovely pool that you can swim in.
Cons: No air conditioning. Might be an idea to bring a fan. No mini-bar so maybe bring a cooler too. There are two huge radiators so I imagine that it would be very comfortable in the winter.

Having a fine dining restaurant on the premises was an added bonus. We had an excellent server, friendly and enthusiastic. The manager was very businesslike. Pros: A beautiful hotel in a great location if you are discovering the off beat locations. Not so good if en route to ferry ( which I was)> I would love to go back and explore the area. The run from Aranda de Duero to the hotel is field after field of Stunning sunflowers. The bodegas in this area look very inviting and the village of Caleruega looks like a nice friendly village. Elena the proprietoress/reception/waitress seems to be jack of all trades and just appears to serve your needs, and is very pleasant with it.
Cons: Map of directions slightly wrong, and a long way off the A1 further than it looks on the map

Cons: Only issue due to travelling on motorbike we wanted a bar and restaurant for a quiet evening The restaurant was in the other hotel in the town approx 10/15 min walk this was not for us as weather wasn’t great so we made do with the breakfast we had eaten earlier in the day and didn’t eat until the following day
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Second stay here, good value for money
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Clean room, nice and helpful staff, close enough to everything. Good value for money.
Cons: There was a bad odor in the room, most probably coming from the sewage. Nothing really bad, but something that could be improved. Breakfast was basic but this was paid for separately, so this is not a real complaint. Overall, it is a decent accommodation option in a nice place.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice room
Cons: Very noisy

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and a 24-hour front desk. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A pretty hotel, nicely situated, lovely rustic decor which carried from the communal areas/reception to the guest rooms, very traditional, lots of lovely dark wood and old furniture. We had the option to upgrade our room for a small fee, which we did, and were very pleased, we had a big room with a nice sitting area and plenty of space for luggage. We took our evening meal in the hotel dining room which was nice, and really enjoyed the experience of eating our very good breakfast with the other guests in the bar area, a bit congested, but something different. A very pretty place to visit with lots of photo opportunities. Secure underground parking for our motorbike around the corner from the hotel in the annexe building.
Cons: A little bit tricky to find, up a small, narrow quiet steep cobbled side street with very restricted drop off area for arriving/departing guests, quite difficult to navigate when on a large heavy motorbike especially with numerous cars coming and going.
7.9 Good
Pros: Good location. Clean room. Pleasant ambiance in communal areas. Good choice of breakfasts. Allotted secure car park space under hotel.
Cons: Ridiculous bathroom layout. The toilet was perpendicular to the sink and too close together. When using the toilet, you had to steer your knees under the sink which was then about 4 inches from your chest. The bolster style pillow was hard with barely any give which wasn’t to my personal comfort. The restaurant was brightly lit with no atmosphere a bit like a school classroom and our main courses where brought out while the wife was only halfway through her starter. Small portions though it was quite cheap. Expensive car parking.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Central location in the town. Secure parking. Friendly staff.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: Hot water was not consistently available or hot.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely friendly hotel, with a great breakfast! The town is beautiful, and there are several restaurants in the town where you can have a drink or a meal, if you don't want to eat in the hotel. Ideal location for sight seeing. Excellent communication from the hotel.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: We've stayed here many times now when we've visited Santo Domingo de Silos. It's great value for money and a decent base to visit the surrounding area - Sad Hill Cemetery, Desfiladero de La Yecla and others.
7.1 Good
Pros: Very good location right outside the monastery
Cons: Reception was unmanned when we arrived (at our pre-arranged time). There was a sign (only in Spanish) directing us to an alternative reception. This was also unmanned and a number of staff were eating in the restaurant. I was told (in Spanish) to return between an hour and ninety minutes later. This is really not acceptable. I then rang the hotel from their own reception which finally summoned an unfriendly and unhelpful receptionist. At breakfast we were neither greeted nor made welcome. Its a surprise and a disappointment that a major hotel in a tourist / pilgrimage destination has no staff with a second language.
6.7 Good
Pros: Very convenient location for visiting this special little town
Cons: Money has evidently been spent recently on updating facilities, such as electronically controlled entrance to the underground car park, but the room was decorated to a minimum standard and family tensions in the hotel made the atmosphere difficult.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location and staff!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Opposite the monastery and 100 meter away from covered garage.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay if you are visiting Sad Hill Cemetery or the Basilica across the street! An amazing little town
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Buffet breakfast was great. Location good for what we wanted, but not a lot to do after 2 days sightseeing. Hotel and staff excellent.
Cons: A lot of driving outside the area to get to other towns. But clean and tidy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: 1. Within a minute's walk to the Monastery. Easy to catch the various schedules. 2. The Bar-Restaurant that's part of the hotel was the most patronized, even by locals. Other eating establishments were not operating at the time we were there (9-10 April). 3. Room was comfortable. Bathroom was clean. 4. Parking in underground garage available for a fee. 5. Friendly staff.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I would absolutely stay again. Quiet, beautiful, exceptional service and a minute walk to the monetary, which you can see from the property. Right in the middle of the town square....
6.7 Good
Pros: The hotel is a gorgeous stone structure with fabulous exposed stone walls, thick, carved wooden doors, heavy iron hardware and beautiful casement windows. The rooms are clean and the beds are reasonably comfortable.
Cons: We had to get a second room for our son, and it was unbearably hot because the staff had forgotten the portable AC or a fan. They brought a fan when I asked, but it was too late. It was miserably hot all night long. Our son would have been more comfortable on the floor. One other problem was a very bad smell in the bathroom of our other room. It was faint when we arrived, but by midnight very unpleasant and nearly unbearable by morning. Too bad! I wanted to love this place.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything about our stay, it's just such a cool, historic property (a former mansion) in the sweetest village. We were so fortunate to face the plaza and monastery from room no 9, located just above the front door. A very special experience and we hope to return. Also, the breakfast was excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect! The hotel is beautiful, the room was great and had an amazing view. The staff was friendly and very helpful. My friend had forgotten her jacket in the bus and the staff helped us get it back. (Thanks again for that!) We wanted to visit Sad Hill Cemetery and the staff gave us brochures and pointed us in the right direction. They made us lunch packages for the walk. We had to leave early the last morning and they prepared breakfast for us to take on the road. Breakfast and coffee were great and the entire atmosphere was wonderful. I'd stay here again anytime!
6.3 Good
Cons: breakfast. too poor for the amount diner also
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location and very atmospheric.
Cons: No opinion
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I stayed here several years ago, and while it was a lovely, charming old hotel, it needed upgrading. This is a family business and the son has taken over - and now the bathrooms are modern, there are plenty of electrical outlets, everything works...and it’s still charming. I had a very comfortable stay here. The dining room is good, basic regional food (no fusion cuisine here!) and the staff is very pleasant. The wifi is sometimes weak, but that’s because it’s an old stone building with thick walls. A good stay and I plan to stay here again, because Santo Domingo de Silos is a wonderful place...and this is right across the street from the monastery.

Pros: I arrived on my bike in the dark at 10:30 local time. Agustina was waiting for me and was helpful and accommodating. The bed was great, shower fabulous, and the toast and coffee in the morning hit the spot. It wasn’t until I was leaving that morning that I noticed and appreciated the environment and surroundings. Beautiful rolling farm fields, a towering mesa behind the village, and no noise... only the singing of birds and the occasional faint sounds of a farmer working.
