Wow, what a find outside of the expensive Bar Harbor. The staff was fabulous and the setting, including a wonderful long nature trail on the property, was tremendous. Very large rooms (some quaint cabins!) with kitchenettes. Only minutes from downtown. The owner recommended a wonderful scenic drive which we would not have know about and recommended a great restaurant downtown for breakfast. We will go back! The shower hot/cold water control was very problematic.
Motel room: large room. Back door to large shared deck. Motel room: did not feel safe- No deadbolt or even chain on doors. Curtains barely covered windows. Very dated and in need of updating. Tiny old bathroom. Dirty carpet.
Very clean and very close to everything 5 min drive to downtown town bar harbor A bit small BUT lots to do in the area so only sleeping there was out we could do
From my research most other hotels in the area are more expensive, so we chose this one based on price. It gives you the minimum necessary: a bed, a shower with towels and toiletries, TV and free WIFI. So it did meet our minimum requirements. Just wish it looked nicer. Should this inn be located in another place, I would be worried about safety issues, based on how it looked; but then I saw our neighbors, who were all there as tourists, like us, so that made me feel better. The place looks very old, and it looks like a lot of DIY happened there. The tile on the shower wall looks like it was placed by an amateur, and just the quality of the construction is very poor. Broken window screen, and the windows in general don't close/open well.
This is a great option for travelers who intend to spend all day at Acadia national park and don't want to spend that much money on a hotel they are never in. Not a great place for folks who are looking for beautiful views, luxurious accommodations, and lots of amenities. The rooms are modest, but clean, and perfectly fine for sleeping, showering, and storing luggage. It is a good choice for people looking to cut expenses on their trip. Everything is very basic and no frills. I'd stay there again, but I'd pack my own soap/shampoo bc what they provided wasn't something I'd use at home. There's no fridge. Towels are thin. Takes 20-30 minutes to get to most spots in Acadia park. The free donuts in the AM are entemenns. You aren't going to feel pampered, but if this is the price point you are looking for, you can't really expect more.
Closeness to the event we were going tol Cleaning was not up to par. Bathroom - toilet was not wiped down at base and on rim, dust and dirt showing. Cobwebs on walls and in corners; A/C unit had a lot of dust on it.
