It felt like a drug den. Couldnt sleep with the ruckus. Hope the cops made some arrests!
The check in clerk was very nice and the maintenance man was great it was snowing and I ran out of windshield washer fluid and the maintenance man bought me some and filled it up. I paid him of course and tipped him. I really enjoy seeing the hotel clerk again when I stayed couple days before. His going to school to become an attorney. Real nice folks!
The area is close to some shady characters. But my hotel room was inside (the front door) so no worries. I was unsure of where to go, this hotel was the closest and most affordable due to the god awful hour I had to drop of my kids at the train station 11:30 p.m. and pick them up at 3:00 a.m when they returned.
Dirty room, homeless people in banquet room, arguing couple in room adjoining, woke up with itchy skin, wifi did not work at all, gutter leak created a giant puddle right outside room door
I don't have much I can say about what I like when everything went horribly wrong since the moment I walk in my neighbors are fighting over drugs ,drug deals in front my door, parking lot in front of room 227 is so dirty n upper balcony/ walkway has trash cups paPers, wrapperz all over housekeeping walked right past today why ??
Dirty. Heater didn't work, would only blow room temperature air. There was blood stains in the bathroom, and friends said there were blood stains in their rooms too, wtf.
The day I checked out. REALLY NOTHING. STAY AWAY.
Power went out for over four hours. No back up generators. Dark hallways, dark rooms, no security, non guests roaming the parking lots. Staff was rude, mouthy and unprofessional. When questioning perhaps a small discount for lack of power, front desk girl told me it wasn't their fault and they bare no responsibility whatsoever, and told me to contact KAYAK. She also told me that they have no backup power for the rooms. The lack of lighting provided a security issue. I mean anyone with bad intent could lurk anywhere on property, especially the unlocked doors leading to the hallways. So I contacted the GM (Mr. Richmond) via email several times. Not one response and its been two weeks. If you have to spend a few more bucks, stay AWAY from this place. The rooms are not kept clean enough, the breakfast was cold bagels. I am not sure how old the pot of hot gravy was sitting around for the biscuits.
The room was very clean and nice. We had a balcony
The only thing to recommend this hotel is it's location. The first room we stayed in was in very poor condition. AC didn't work, wallpaper and ceiling tiles all peeling, carpets FILTHY! Maintenance finally got the AC working for the night, but it quit again the next day. I spent 6 solid hours trying to get maintenance to fix it. No dice. Finally had to agree to move rooms. The reservation confirmation showed that the room came with a microwave. Not so. Had to RENT one, along with a mini fridge, for $10.00 each per night!!! OUTRAGEOUS! Absolutely not ever staying there again! It is worth the money to go to one of the very nice properties surrounding this DUMP!
Staff were rude. Nothing was clean.
donna. She was so Nice when i called to ask about the shuttle.
Everything else. The light above the sink in the bathroom area didn't work. The blanket on my bed had 5 large cigarette burn holes in it. The heat would not turn off and was 85 degrees in our room overnight. Bugs found in the sink in the morning. The bathroom in the lobby had garbage on the floor, no toilet paper and dirty soap sitting on the ledge. Yes, the soap to wash your hands was dirty. When I told someone about it she said "oh." Thank Goodness it was only for a short stay.
The first room they gave me stank and was dirty. I asked for another, and it was better, but there was still trash under the bed and dust hanging down from the heating vent. We've stayed here many times before- this was the worst.
1) It was so dirty. 2) At 4:40 am a police officer was pounding on the hotel next door, probably looking for a drug dealer. 3) Finally after falling back to sleep around 6:00 am a hooker and her pimp knocked on my door. I was to afraid to answer and couldn't fall back asleep. 4) When housekeeping barged in around 7:30 am i had enough, I packed all my stuff up and left. 5) I would not suggest that anyone ever stay here, Ive stayed in hotels all over and have always booked the cheapest hotel without to many issues. But this hotel is 100x's worse than any hotel i stayed in Tijuana
Reasonable convenience and airport shuttle.
The price was high for the level of the hotel. The first room they gave me was not cleaned, second someone smoked in it, third was OK. Homeless people hang out around the hotel and eat the breakfast???? Not great!!!!!
Bed was comfortable
Sketchy hotel guests.
The only thing I can say I liked was the staff that I called about an excess of noise (cars with booming music and children screaming at 9:45 at night) and their quick response to say that they can take care of it and then hearing the noise stop within the next 10 minutes.
Cleanliness: it was probably as clean as it could be, however, the carpet was so incredibly old, warn, and dingy that the only thing they could do is replace it. I didn't like the idea of my clothes being set on the ground, it was that bad. The bathroom floor, of all places, felt cleanest. Comfort: I can't remember any time in my life that I was adversely affected so much by a bad night's sleep. I was irritable all day following my broken sleep I had on their bed. It's been 24 hours and my neck and back still feel quite stiff. They need better mattresses, frankly. Facilities: this will go with the carpet and mattress comments, but the place is old and falling apart! First impressions were not good. The outdoor walkways and parking were decrepit. The floor in the room (second floor) was creaky everywhere you stepped. The carpet, again, was so dingy I felt gross if I stepped on it barefoot. Bathroom door used to have a mirror, I'm guessing, mounted to it; now there are just holes and the gross remnants of the glue that was behind the mirror. The back of the door had a bracket for a hook, but the hook was missing. The toilet paper dispenser had fallen apart and one of the rolls was sitting on the back of the toilet with the broken pieces of the dispenser. I would expect such a condition if I was moving into an old apartment that "needed fixing up." This is not the condition you should find a hotel in, frankly. Location: close to downtown salt lake, they get points for that, however, it's in a sketchy part of town. Don't do any walking around there, especially after dark. I'm not sure if the building across the way from our room was part of their facility, but I think it was an extended stay place and was why we were hearing so many children screaming and people out talking and laughing loudly. It is not ideal for a hotel, frankly. Staff: the only thing good about the stay was how quick they took care of that noise. The two guys working there that evening, though, when I arrived were not too welcoming (night and day difference to the two girls that greeted me in the morning - very nice and what you'd expect in a hotel lobby). Value for the money: not worth it. For the comparable rate they offered, I'm sure that I could have been so much happier and better off if I paid even the $3 more it would have cost to go elsewhere. We were very tempted before settling in to just go tell them that we wanted a refund and that we'd take our business elsewhere. In retrospect, we wish we had.
We were in a non-smoking room, but it smelled like I spent the night in a casino. When I mentioned it to the front desk personnel, I basically got a shrug of the shoulders indicating there wasn't anything they would do about it. Very outdated and musty smelling as well.
It was close to downtown.
The room was worse than vanilla. The bed spread had cigarette burns on it. 26 channels on the TV and they all seemed to be repeating on a 2 hour cycle. Umm second rate tv? I didn't know it was possible but why bother. I definitely wasn't stoked to sleep in the bed and I dare not look at the mattress because surely it would look like the stuff Law & Order SVU episodes are made of. The neighbors were really loud and the room service knocked on the door at 8am. I'm sure they wouldn't really clean anything. I was semi-excited to get a free breakfast in the AM(before 9am) but it turned out to be something that they would feed to prisoners. This place is cheap but for about $10 more you could sleep in a place that is certainly less of a shithole.
the free shuttle to the airport and free parking were the reason I picked this hotel.
the first room I was given had been occupied but not cleaned. The bed was not made and there was garbage around. The hotel fixed this problem right away though. The facilities are definitely a little dated. There was garbage in the hall and if security is your issue the door into the building was duct taped open so no key was needed. Also the shuttle to the airport which I was told would take 15 minutes took more like 40.
I felt like I was going to get carjacked. People oitering outside, guy on a bike drove past 5x just while I was gathering my things lady was screaming 'you trashed my f#### room' n stuff
The outside area was dirty but my room was fine. It was one of the moist inexpensive places I could find and so I feel that it was pretty good for what I paid.
Lobby and entrance doors not locked allowing entrance by street people.
Little gal at the front desk was friendly and tried to help as best as she could.
Blood (or maybe pizza sauce) on wall behind door. Closet doors broken. Sink plugs were broken. First room we were assigned was ripped up for remodeling and maintenance did not tag it out. Breakfast area was very messy and poorly stocked.
it was nice enough the people were ok and the room was clean
the shower didn't work right the water in the bath tub had only hot water and I had to add cold from the sink with the ice bucket to take a bath without scalding myself there were pluming issues other than that it was ok
It was close to Trolley Square and downtown at an affordable price.
We came to the hotel when it was dark so it was a little difficult to find but that was because it was night. The facility was older but was maintained well.
The noise , room was filty, leaked water from ceiling, Bathroom had urine on toilet, tub filthy , bed messed up
