The hotel met my highest expectations for comfort, luxury and personal service. It was a little out of the way and very pricey, but worth it as a business class hotel. The main breakfast room on the 18th floor was crowded and service was slow. However, the VIP breakfast room (with fewer options) on the 11th floor was almost empty and service was great.
It is a quite place. The hotel did not have available any disinfectant that I needed for a small size wound, I asked for a farmacy service but they were unable to provide it. A friend of mine left at the reception a button belonging to my jacket providing my name and asking to deliver it to me. The staff never informed me neither delivered it to my room, besides when I asked a few times where was my button they claimed that it was never given to them. Clearly they did not care and threw it away. I consider all this an extremely poor behavior particularly in an hotel that claims 5 stars.
It was my 3rd stay at Point Barbaros. no doubt - my favourite hotel in Istanbul which I visit 7-8 times a year. Everything was just perfect as usual from the very first minute till the last one. We were very sorry to leave.
Nice hotel with beautiful view on Bosfurus South Bridge at breakfast. Clean and confortable rooms. Hotel services are not at level of this 5 stars hotel. Not all staff speaks English and one that loundry service "forgot" to pick up laundry bag.

price Some of the announced facilities are either not existing (spa, fitness, turkish bath) or not functioning (wireless system in the room, barely in the lobby). Payment with credit card eventually worked after several trials. Besides that the hotel staff service is minimum but fair for the paid price. Luckily (:-)) they finally retrieved my so called "lost" passport after they first pretented they had already returned back to me the day before
Breakfast was good. front desk staff very rigid. after 6 nights stay , we requested just 1 hour extended checkout. the reply was" just one minute extra and you will be charged one night"!!!!!!!!!!!

This was my second stay at Grand Anka and I loved it. There were minor technical problems, but the staff took care of it all immediately.
The hotel staff, very helpful. The furniture was old. They gave us 2 separate beds although we were a couple.
Even the room a bit small but everything was spotless..., specially the bed (it was perfect). The housekeeper did the wonderful job. one man at the reception desk seem unhappy with his job, because when we check out he was look so exhausted and unfriendly.
New modern furniture, cleanliness and nice attitude from the staff! Everything was perfect and will definetly come back!
I liked the daily cleanliness, the variated breakfast, the working air conditioning, the quietness of the room, its position next to the tram line, the good tv channels selection, the wonderful cleaning lady and in general the politeness of the staff. I did not like that not all the staff spoke English and that the room access cards did not always work.

The hotel is very clean and the rooms are very nice. Good breakfast also. They have no parking and I had to pay 10 eur/day at a parking garage. They asked me to pay something that I did not consumed from the minibar.

The location and the Bakerby surrounding. Carefull when you open the windows if you have children. These can not be locked closed and can pose a risk to unsupervised children.The third bed provided is flimsy and not comfortable. The front staff are friendly but too busy to answer questions and do not have expected tourist maps. The location is great and transport to historical sites are frequent and good. The AC was not working when we stayed at the hotel though we called for repair, the main compressor was operating. we opened the window and the August weather was fine. Basicly this is a good new 4 star hotel marketed as 5 star hotel.

The customer relations and the restaurant staff were very pleasant and easy to deal with. the rooms are practical, well furnished and pleasant. the reception staff are a bit hasty and brash - more to do with the language barrier. our reservation was incorrectly handled with consistent denial until customer relations got involved - but then all got sorted. the Airconditioning system is either heat or cold, as dictated by the hotel. so when I was there, it was autumn but still warm, and no A/C as the system was already in heat mode. not good for a 4 star facility,

The staff were pleasant. The room was small but comfortable and airconditioned. The location was central to historical sites and close to tram stop. Breakfast was an expansive and good buffet. The shower in the room was unsuitable for anyone who is less than agile. A two foot step up between glass sliding doors into a mini bath with seat and nothing to grab a hold of.
Excellent location near two light train stations. Lovely view from the hotel terasse. Prof staff! 3 star hotel, not 4. But nice to the price! It might be the same old breakfast we ate three days in a row? It didn´t look like they throw the old stuff out. Especially the cheese didn´t like to be at the breakfast table 3 hours everyday in a hot room (20-30 degrees). They should throw the food out after 3 hours in a hot room and place new everyday. Or put the food some cool place. The air con was noisy! We preferred to turn it off and sleep with open window. The gin+tonic was almost warm. They should use a fridge for the booze and ice cubes.
It is a good hotel in strategic position, near tram stop and very easy to find especially when you arrive from the airport. You can reach Haya Sofia and the Blue Mosque in few minutes. Staff is good and they speak a good English.

The location of the hotel is great: 10 minute walk to the Blue Mosque, 15 minute walk to the Grand Bazaar. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Great location and good Turkish breakfast. Friendly staff. The 'suite' was a small ordinary sized room. Asked for a double bed and non-smoking but received a twin smoking room (but fortunately this did not smell of smoke.)
I only like their breakfast. I hated a decore and room colors. Shower head was falling down. I ask for non smoking and the room smelled smoke. I was on top flower and barely could see water.
This is a well-run modern hotel with an excellent location for touring. It has a comprehensive gym and a good breakfast. The staff are friendly and competent. The key people spoke good english. There are many restaurants around it. It was easy to get to major tourist sites using the funicular and tram. The Metro to major modern shopping malls (recommend Kanyon at Levent) is close by. Only minor criticism is that our room lacked clothes storage for longer stays (ie no drawers) but plenty of hanging space.

The service was excellent. We had a friendly and personal welcome at the check in where a special concierge presented hisself as our personal contact person who helps us booking restaurants, tours, etc. But also the rest of the staff we met was very friendly. We had a corner room which had a nice view because of large windows and very comfortable place to sit.
Quite and classic No proper curtains for the rooms' windows to block the sun lights. Not so good when it comes to bed covers/sheets cleaning. Bad sewage system smell in some of the rooms bathrooms.
The welcoming and respect I recieved since the first second I entered the lobby of Nippon Hotel till I left to the airport was outstanding. The cleanliness, the unbelievable location, the friendliness of staff was great. The lady who welcomed me at the front desk, escorted me to my room, and presented to me everything in my room. I went immediately outside the hotel and when I came back they left me a plate of fresh fruites and a welcoming note with direct phone numbers of the manager. I went for city trip and though, I spent two full days inside my room. It was worth the money I spent. I recommend it for every one. Not so much of disturbing, but a little noise I could hear from the neighbors. But it was not a big issue.
The location was excellent. The room had clean and reasonably new furniture. The treatment and behavior of the hotel staff was average. They should behave more friendly when disagreements exist. Also, the housekeeping should be done more thoroughly when done daily rather than just a quick unorganized cleaning.

Nippon Hotel really was a good choise. This place was amazingly cosy with a really fantastic staff. The location of the hotel was easy to manage as well. By my mind it is a place where one would like to return again.
The hotel is in walking distance to Istiklal street & Taxim square the main shopping areas of Istanbul. The rooms and bathrooms are neat and clean. The staff is courteaus, polite & helpful. Though the hotel is located on a side street but yet it was a bit noisy due to the traffic, and loud music played in the Clubs & Pubs nearby the hotel.
There is no way this is a four star hotel. I had money (coins) "taken" from my room after the first night. I classify this as theft but perhaps they thought I was leaving a tip (although I leave change in the room often when I travel and have never had this happen before). I stayed in a 4 star hotel in Dubai after this hotel and there was simply no comparison. The service at this hotel was nonexistent. The price was way too expensive for what I would classify as a 2 star hotel (the only difference between this and a 2 star is that the rooms are spacious but they are dirty, extremely dark and poorly maintained). I stayed for 5 nights and I travel frequently and would recommend that users do not stay here (goto tripadvisor to see reviews).

The location is very good for people who want to be close to the Taxim square. The room was clen and all towels were new. The breakfast leaves much to be desired, especially at 9 o'clock. There is only 1 elevator availble, so it is difficult to use it in the morning.

We were not given the room as per the picture we booked in, we had to move rooms twice as the second room we were given the ac was not working and the third room was as horroible with filth on the carpets and the aircon was not working. My young daughter got sick as we found out her bed was totallay damp in the morning becuase she was sweating due to the the ac not working. We have hospitals bills to prove this. We were lied to during the course of our stay saying the ac was maximum and that it does not cool nany more than what is on our room. We found out next moring that the ac was not working and that they were working on fixing this problem. Have a video of this conversation as well. We were booked for two nites there we checked asap

Good Location I was given a room 10 feet above a Music Band overlooking the pool.Music was so loud I could not hear the TV in my room? Reception said it will finish by 7.30 then at 7.30, said it will go on until 11-11.30. Changed room, AC was noisy so didn't sleep properly. Tried to call Duty Manager, got Reception, they were unhelpfull. Shower didn't work, had to call technicians to fix it. Called Guest Services to borrow Ironing board and Iron, Not Available, must use hotel Pressing service? Bad Experience, left next morning.

Though we were 2 persons staying in this room, cleaning stuff was only supplying 1 towel and we had to ask for extra towel all the time!! For 3 nights staying in this hotel the soap and shower/bath kits were never changed!!!

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel was well locate next to main sites and restaurants. The hotel is nice and clean with a lovely breakfast room. The hotel is located close to a railway line which was a bit noisy especially when the balcony door is open. I'd advise people to bring their ear plugs. I had mine and managed to get a good sleep but without them I think it would have been a struggle. The breakfast is pretty average too. There isn't much choice with cereal, bread or fruit although what is there is well presented and fresh. The bathroom shower is very small but we had no tub. Rooms with tubs might have more elbow room.

I liked the lay-out of the building, it is bright and welcoming, and of course it is in the best location of Istanbul. The breakfast could be more varied. Breakfast times until 11.00 a.m., but by 10 a.m. you are having 'leftovers'.
