Pros: Amazing property, very clean and cosy. ANd the best - BREAKFAST! First time I eat such a good breakfast in B&B. Most of the thing prodeced and hand made by the owner, fresh fruits from the garden, fresh juce and jams - love it!
Cons: wifi connection was very poor
Pros: Easy to find location, conveniently near city center. Very good breakfast with nice homely stuff
Cons: Not suited for mobility impaired guests. Lack of internet access
Pros: What a gem. Wonderful welcome, copious breakfast, beautiful rooms. Host and hostess couldn't have been more helpful. Perfect base for visiting the area, plenty of reasonable restaurants nearby. 10 out of 10.
Pros: The silence, the sympathy of the owner, the isolation, the cleanliness, the good breakfast
Cons: the home was very cold (i never had so much cold in an hotel), the room had AC but the floor was ice cold, there was no privacy and freedom, the car access was bad, the bathroom was tiny, the common areas aren't all that enjoyable, the surroundings were uninspiring (and the roads, tiring, due to the time in transit)
Pros: Very friendly welcom by the owners and an excellent breakfast !
Cons: The road is not suited for a sports car with low ground clearance.
Pros: cosy rooms and a very warm atmosphere, best breakfast we had during our holiday in Portugal and Spain, quit surroundings suitable for relaxation and recovery
Cons: little difficult to find the hotel, unfortunately only one of the owners speaks English but they more than compensate it with kindness and hospitality
Pros: The breakfast is more than excellent. Cosy rooms with air conditioned within. Very familiar place. Mogadouro and its surroundings is a quiet and interesting area.
Cons: The access road to the house would need to be improved or paved.
Pros: Great hospitaity and service, great location and room quality, excellent breakfast. The owners brought us cake after our self-contained meal at our terrace. When we asked for wine glasses they offered us fresh grapes shortly after that. Small attentions that make you feel at home...
Cons: The fact that we had to leave after two nights to proceed our trip...
Housed in a beautifully restored 17th-century building, this guest house is in the small town of Macedo de Cavaleiros and offers quality accommodation in a tranquil setting. Located in the north-eastern region of Trás-os-Montes, Solar do Morgado Oliveira impresses with its home-like atmosphere. Stroll through the garden or enjoy a refreshing swim in the outdoor pool. Afterwards, you can soak up the sun on a lounger in the pool area. Thanks to the small number of guest rooms, your privacy is ensured at all times. Play a game of billiards with your family or check your emails via free wireless internet. The cosy ambience of the guest rooms is also reflected in the public areas.
Pros: The hotel is in a beautiful, old manor house that has been very well preserved. The owners are friendly, helpful and very willing to share information about the history of their beautiful property and the surrounding area. The garden is lovely and although we were there in the winter, I can imagine that it would be very nice to relax by the pool on a hot, summer day.
Cons: Our party had two rooms. One was lovely, bright and airy with a balcony overlooking the garden. The second, the suite is in a building separate from the rest of the house. Although very private, it was a little dark and dated. If we return, I would definitely book the room with the balcony.
Pros: Superb host, very attentive. Good pool ( could do with pool rail though). Plenty breakfast (ask and if he can do it, he will). Secure off-road parking. Central to shops, restaurants etc. Quiet peaceful. Host speaks very good English, interesting man to talk to.
Cons: Nothing really.
Pros: A wonderful old building beautifully furnished and clean. Close to the town. Personal attention was much appreciated, especially parking for the motor bike. The breakfast was plentiful and superbly presented in the magnificent dining room.
Pros: The host was wonderful - no questions were too much trouble. We were given a choice of the two best restaurants and a table was booked for us at the one we chose (it was excellent). The house has been lovingly restored by the owner and he delights in showing both the house and his fascinating collections to visitors. The breakfast was excellent.
Cons: It was perfect!
Pros: Everything as perfect but we need to highlight the hospitality and availability of the owners and statff. Great for families or couples who wants to have a relaxed time but still having possibility to enjoy a nice swimming pool or some snooker ......
Pros: Simpaty of the host. Everything well cared.
Pros: This must be one of the best (if not the best) hotels we have ever stayed in. The owner could not have been more charming and the accommodation was of the highest luxury without being at all ostentatious. It was a great pleasure!
Pros: Very pleasant staff and very comfortable surroundings. The swimming pool is small but nicely set up and very pleasant.

Pros: Real getaway! We loved the views of the vineyards and nature around, great hospitality of the personnel, food they made for us (it was a great opportunity to taste local cuisine) and possibility to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of the quinta located at the end of the small village. It was really like holidays at grandma`s. Our room was amazing. Spacious, very nicely equipped with big windows and great views. Smaller but enjoyable swimming pool was more than nice bonus.
Cons: I just missed hairdryer in the room, but it was not so essential. Breakfast was fine and tasty but the selection of food could be a little bit wider - eggs could be part of it for example.
Pros: Tranquility and pumpkin jam.
Pros: Facilities cleanliness price parking wifi
Cons: Can’t fault the facilities provided or price but it is a little out of the way
Pros: Breakfast is very complete, and the place is beautiful! You can go around super safely and the owners are super nice. This is a great place to stay and rest for some days, absolutely recommended! Great place to rest!
Pros: The views over the vines and little village, the dinner was simple but absolutely delicious and served on the outdoor verandah.
Pros: The hosts - Tania and Marta - were amazing all the time in every and each aspect a long our stay.. We could mention facilities, food, pool or even the environment and surroundings but it won't be fair enough in comparison with the hosting that was totally awesome.
Cons: Nothing in particular.
Pros: Very friendly family. Look after us well and had a wonderful home-made dinner there.
Pros: Like staying in a real home. The pool and verandah were nice and there were great views over the surrounding dung vineyards and mountains.
Cons: Just a little bit bland, perhaps- but that’s just being picky!
Pros: Very friendly and helpfull staff. View from the terrace.
Cons: There are/is no bicycle(s) for adults to rent.
Pros: Very nice! Very quiet! Very clean! I have to come back! Douro Valley and Quinta do Palame are amazing, dream places. The room was big and bathroom very comfortable. Swimming pool great. We felt so romantic on the terrace. Breakfast very tasty. Mrs. Tania is like an angel. She is everywhere and she is always smiles. She is very profesional, kind and friendly girl!!! We spend 1 night with my daughter and 2 griends and in this place we were very satisfied.
The Hotel Muchacho is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. When guests have some time on their hands they can make use of the onsite facilities. When it comes to Macedo de Cavaleiros hotels, the Hotel Muchacho is highly regarded for its excellent facilities.
Pros: The whole staff was very friendly and helpfull..Breakfast was excellent, all local products..Price for this hotel with breakfast included was rather cheap..
Cons: Actually there were some problems with works in the street ..So noisy from early morning..Detour to arrive at hotel..Could last 2 months..Internet was also very slow..But this been said, overall experience was very good, the problems due to construction not the fault of hotel, they are the victims!
Pros: The cleanliness of the room, bathroom included. The existence of two good pillows for each one of the three beds. The possibility to have three beds in the room.
Cons: The contactless door didn't work at the first time. We had to go to the reception and reactivate the keys. It looked like they were aware of a problem with that room's lock. There was some street works in front of the hotel. It was not their fault and it didn't cause any noise but the car access was affected. The breakfast could have more variety and some products were not available. Sausages for example. However it was replenished as soon as we asked.
Pros: Amazing breakfast and beautiful decor. Incredibly comfortable hotel. I wish I stayed longer!
Pros: One of the best stop overs Owners and staff Wonderful Will stay again
Cons: Nothing at all Stay here you will not be disappointed
Pros: Very friendly staff, very clean hotel and I would definitely stay again
Pros: Breakfast was good. However the eggs were cold!!!! This was due to the warmer not being switched on! Lovely hotel which is very reasonably priced
Cons: Cold eggs!!!
Pros: Breakfast was awesome. Comfortable enough. Staff is great and very local. It's like being on your grandma's house.
Cons: Small city. Everything closes. Nothing to eat if you get out of normal hours.
Pros: Cleanliness and value for money.
Pros: Clean, modern, comfortable with fantastic breakfast & friendly staff.

Pros: This place is in a lovely area, we only stayed one night as we were passing through, but the area is great for Scandinavians and others who want to go walking in the countryside. The house was spotlessly clean, the decor is authentic old style Portuguese, the hostess was a lovely woman who can speak a bit of English, the swimming pool was fantastic and the breakfast was very enjoyable too.
Pros: The area is beautiful an de location is magnificent. Very friendly host.
Cons: The bed was too narrow, only for people smaller than 1,80m due to foot board.
Pros: -Very neat historical building. -Beautiful grounds pool looked nice although we did not visit. -Clean room -Good breakfast
Cons: -Hard to find checkin it was not easily marked took 30 minutes to find. -Reserved room with air conditioning but was given one without the owner said they were full. Very hot!! Over 40c no AC missable. -Wifi did not work -Owner only speaks Portuguese and maybe French? Our friends speak Portuguese so they helped translate. No English. -The property at night is very dark with uneven stairs and no fence around the pool. I would use caution if I had small children or traveling with someone older. -The bed mattress was very hard - Rude owner without a place to gather. Our last night we wanted to have a picnic (meats, cheese, bread, fruit, wine). We arrived back after dark. The grounds were very dark. Although there was a wedding with lots of guest by the tennis court. The wedding party was very loud and lasted until nearly 2am. There was no hotel attendant available so we set our picnic in on an outside table near the only light. About a hour later the hotel owner showed up and was very mad that we were eating in the court yard. She said that our cheese and meat would stain the OUTSIDE stone. She went on and on lecturing us and it basically ruined our evening. We had no where else to go as all 7 or us could not fit in one room. This was at about 10pm so we then had to endure multiple hours listening to the very loud party. The next morning the lady showed us a table by the pool that we were supposed to use. This could all been avoided if she had given us direction at checkin, had outdoor lights, or been available for consultation. - Don't pet the dog. The owner dog runs freely and bit my friend.

Pros: The garden is lovely, nevertheless you always look from the terrace or pool / seats directly to a storage hall and the cars parked. A great plus was the fact we could stay with the dog there.
Cons: Outlook / Surronding besides garden part, the empty and unpersonal room , the high volume of the fan in the bath which you can not turn off as long the light is on (in a bath without window or natural light)
Cons: Owner smoked outside our door. When the power failed for several hours no one came by to offer us any assistance.
Pros: The property is very impressive and has a swimming pool and ample parking. Breakfast was very good. It is a short drive to Mirandela where many restaurants can be found. Daniella provided a breakfast fit for king but a little over the top for two guests.
Cons: We were the only people staying at the property and whilst nice to have the pool to yourself, it was disappointing not to have others there to share this with. The location and appearance of the property was in stark contrast to other parts of the village which had badly maintained buildings.
Cons: As it was out of season there was no atmosphere. We were the only guests so it felt very flat.
Pros: Nice garden. Very good rooms with nice decoration. Confortable bed. Room gets absolutly dark at night. Very quiet place.

Pros: Quaint. Staff.Location. Breakfast.
Pros: The staff at the hotel and in the restaurant were excellent. The location of the hotel was very good. The town was high in the mountains, and the hotel was at the corner of the square. Lovely.
Cons: The bed had a plastic mattress cover and my wife and I couldn't sleep until we removed the cover, and turned on the air conditioning to cool down.
Pros: Owner made us very welcome .
Cons: Shower over bath.
Pros: The staff, very friendly and helpful. The room was large, clean and comfortable. There was a games room and computer for the guest's use and the home cooked food in the restaurant was really, really classy. Would highly recommend.
Cons: Nothing, it was all very good
Pros: Host very friendly, provided a great gluten free meal, even though we were the only ones in the restaurant, which was a shame. Others missed out on a treat. He was apologetic he couldn't find gluten free bread, which wasn't a problem. Underground carpark with a designated area for moto's. Fantastic view from our balcony.
Pros: Excellent facilities and rooms. There was a lift to all floors including the huge parking basement, a true bonus for us bikers not having to cart helmets, bags and equipment up flights of stairs and a great place to keep the motorbikes secure overnight! Breakfast was excellent with a huge array of goodies to eat and you could have fried food and pizza as well. The owner and receptionist spoke excellent English and even understood our jokes!
Cons: We were persuaded to eat 'local' food in the restaurant which was 'different' and not particularly to our taste. I think that we could have dined better elsewhere as the town has many restaurants to choose from. But really that's our fault for not having a walk round the town before dining.
Pros: Large room, with a private balcony and wide view over the surrounding countryside. Free parking in front of hotel. Quiet neighbourhood. Good base for visiting the nearby Douro canyons and other sites.
Cons: Hot water takes time to come, and is not hot hot. One morning, out of the two we stayed here, there was no hot water, although we got some apologies from the staff.
Pros: Lovely comfy hotel very attentive and a good bar Good breakfast and surrounded by good restaurants. At the risk of overusing the word good... It was a joy to stay here!

Cons: Restaurant was lacking in choice, but others just round corner made up for it

Cons: the windows allow outside noises to wake me up during the night. The waiter at breakfast did not make any effort to serve us correctly.
Pros: The room was clean and cozy. It was quiet and staff were very helpful. There was a kitchen that was open to guest.

Pros: The view was amazing and in the fine weathervwould be fabulous
Cons: The food was appalling cold soup inedible main course The hotel was bleak and remote. Rather like staying in a sanitoriam instead of a hotel.
Pros: Calm. Quiet. Cosy
Cons: Few Shops and merchants open after 14:00
Cons: Facilities are nothing special. No value for money
Pros: Amazing setting, beautiful views & outside water features. Aircon was extremely effective & well needed. Restaurant food was lovely and well priced & the young dark haired waitress we remembered from 2016 is lovely & speaks excellent English. Great massage from Claudia.
Cons: Booked a suite as per our 2016 stay where we had small TV in lounge area with sofa & huge TV in bedroom, along with fridge/minibar which is essential in this heat for keeping chilled water when you are on motorbike tour. Opened door to suite to find no TV in lounge & no sofa or any seats at all in the lounge! Bedroom TV had been swapped for a tiny one & no fridge/minibar. Eventually they swapped us to the other smaller suite which is slightly more modern with a large TV in bedroom & sofa/chairs in lounge, but again no fridge/minibar when every booking site & their own in-room info states there is a minibar! Made things difficult for us but they did discount our rate by €10 per night as a gesture. Shower gushed water out under the screen & wet everywhere each time we showered.
Pros: Wonderful location and view!! Perfect destination for a romantic break and relaxing time!
Pros: The location and the design extraordinary beautiful and focus os the landscape, every place was built to approach the person to the incredible view
Cons: Some degradation of the building specially outside and the gym. It’s very urgent to improve the breakfast because for a 4 stars hotel the breakfast it’s completely aside of the promise quality and the orange juice is something impossible to accept. It’s a pity that in a so regional area the local products doesn’t are present in the breakfast
Pros: It was amazing... perfect to relax
You'll be centrally located in Mirandela with a stay at Grande Hotel Dom Dinis, and 4 minutes by foot from Mirandela Roman Church. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Rooms are a decent size only a little dated and the television very small and old fashioned. The hotel and the pool area are clean and well looked after. The breakfast offers a decent amount of choices.
Cons: There are no cushions for the sun loungers, which are made of wood and hard. The area around the pool area is too open to public view. The pillows in the bedroom are very soft and flat.
Pros: I like that they offer lunch and dinner and have a set menu with good quality food reasonably priced.
Cons: The television in the room was very old and signal on some channels is very poor.
Pros: Rooms comfy, shower good, nice and clean throughout. Dining room very very quiet (June 2018), breakfast was fine and the price was good. A great location at the side of the river but some rooms don't overlook it. Large garage underneath the hotel made parking very easy and it all felt secure when leaving motorcycles there.
Cons: Little dated here and there. Breakfast fine but nothing startling but the fresh fruit was very good. Seems strange to get cutlery from a large tray but only a very minor point.
Cons: No fridge in the room
Pros: The location was excellent as was the pool
Cons: This hotel is a good clean hotel though lacks "personality". The breakfast wasn't good cheap ham and cheese orange squash rather than juice.
Pros: I enjoyed the balcony as the view of the river is beautiful and worth the stay. The location is excellent to go for an evening stroll or a morning walk especially in the spring when everything is blooming. They provide an appetizing breakfast. There is also underground parking.
Cons: It didn’t have a hair dryer.
Cons: needs a update , still very 90s
Pros: Close to city center and university. Staff is smiling all the time. They clean everyday. Generally, it covered all my expectation. Food in restaurant was good. And food value for the money. It was quite OK
Cons: TV was small. and it was not smart. actually I was there for business that's why I didn't use TV a lot but if it was bigger and smart it would be better. Breakfast could be richer with more vegetables such as tomato, cucumber, olive, etc.
Pros: The views and the swimming pool are the good part of the hotel.
Cons: Unfriendly staff at check-in, very unprofessional. Unstaffed breakfast, plenty of dirty tables. Cleary undermanaged...
Pros: Very well located and easy to park and well heated
Cons: Dirty old carpets in the room corridor and breakfast not well supplied
