Pros: We loved our time at La Demorada so much that we stayed an extra night! Ines is so warm and welcoming, and she has filled the house with beautiful objects and works of art. Our room was large and cool, with double doors leading out to a shady balcony with a view over the neighbouring rooftops and gardens. The location is perfect too, a few blocks from the river and the plaza. It was a beautiful way to experience San Antonio de Areco.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, quiet, incredibly well presented guest house. Loved the garden, hammocks and hummingbirds. Nice abundant breakfast with good coffee. Free bikes to cycle around. Very attentive yet unobtrusive host.
Cons: Don't have a single negative word to say about this place. Everything was perfect. Even has plug sockets on top of the bedside tables for easy access.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this property and the hosts is impeccable. From the moment we arrived to departure, we were given 5 star treatment. I can not say enough good things about our hosts. Gabriella used to be an english interpreter, and studied tourism and history of San Antonio de Areco . Her command of the english language is excellent and her knowledge of the area, both past and present gave us great insight into local culture. Gabriella's husband Hector was equally impressive. He went out of his way to drive us around (free of charge) ,take us sight seeing and introduce us to local Gaucho and horse whisperer Martin Taata. We were very blessed to witness a private gaucho show at Martin Taata's residence. Daily breakfast was fresh and tasty. Our room was beautiful, clean and tidy. We had access to a gorgeous outdoor area. And when we left we were given a very special gift - I mean who does that??? This property and the hosts are BEAUTIFUL! worth every penny. I highly recommend La Posada de Don Segundo! WE WILL BE BACK!
Cons: Everything was IMPECCABLE - NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL
8.8 Excellent

Cons: No screens on windows
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owner of this property was a very hospitable lady as was her husband, she has excellent English and explained in great detail all about the area and places to go and where to eat etc. We were leaving early in the morning and this lady insisted in getting us a lovely breakfast and driving us a half mile to the local bus stop. This was a very quiet place to stay as the room is in a chalet style building in the back garden with the garden and BBQ area at our disposal. I highly recommend this property and host.
Cons: It doesn't have a sign outside the house and the taxi man found it a little hard to find.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Mariela provided an exceptional level of care and attention both before and during our visit. The Estancia is traditional and very good value for money. Mariela was very helpful in arranging transport from Buenos Aires airport. Perfect stay in a great location.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was great. Mariela is always ready to help and advice you. Horse rides with the company of Horacio are awesome. The massage session with Paula was excellent
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The Estancia was exactly what we expected. The innkeeper, Mariela, stayed late the night we arrived to check us in. She is warm and friendly and gave us a map of Areco and suggested places to visit and where to eat. We walked into the center of the old town .... only 6 blocks. Our family of 4 were the only guests the 2 nights we stayed there. The breakfast room is lovely and we had a fire in the fireplace the 2nd night while drinking our wine. Breakfast is simple but delicious. The rooms are on the small side but are comfortably rustic. The bathrooms is good size and beds are comfy. You get a taste of the gaucho life while staying here. The best choice within walking distance of the center of town.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Relaxing 44ha property on edge of town within walking distance of restaurants. Staff friendly with advice on local activities. Comfortable bed, powerful shower.
Cons: All a little tired but it is in keeping with its rustic setting.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect service and wonderful staff! Amazing place to stay for one or two nights. The little town was so cosy with a lot of good food.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: After reading the reviews I was a little anxious about what I was going to find there; but luckly it exceeded my expectations. It is a country house, with open spaces and just about the right amount of service you need. I travel a lot, and I didn't needed an overwhelming staff upon us 24/7. I needed to relax, to breathe clean air, and be left alone for a weekend. It was just about that and me and my boyfriend really enjoyed the experience. The bonus track was the horse riding (which you have to pay for aside). We both ride and had the chance to gallop on the polo field. I suggest you bring some wine, cheese and bread from the town and enjoy them at your own picnic by the kids playhouse. Most romantic weekend ever!
Cons: You have amazing breads, cheeses and cold meats in Areco, you could add some for breakfast for variety. The bedding and towels could be in better shape. But other than that, I really enjoyed staying at Cinacina.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Waking up to the sounds of birds The friendly dogs on the property The kind manageress who spoke English well enough to welcome and orient us The property was on the outskirts of a charming old town, but still walking distance, six blocks or so, to cafes and restaurants.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It is a wonderful place with a lot of charm and really nice and friendly people. (If you love dogs, you will get also a warm welcome of them).

Pros: Fabulous setting. Stunning antique rooms with wood floors, brass beds and even a wood burning stove. Two relaxing pools. Horse riding catered for by ability. I went out alone with a gaucho as I have ridden all my life, and we cantered. The lunch was amazing - so much meat and top quality.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a great time here. We travelled as a family of 5 (kids are 12, 10, 6), and had a 3 bedroom stand alone cottage which had a lot of character. We went out on two rides per day which was a wonderful experience riding through the surrounding grasslands under that big Argentinian sky. Dinner and breakfast were in the cosy dining room with a roaring fire. We had the BBQ lunch outside in the sunshine, which was wonderful too. This is a family run business and the staff are very friendly. The ranch can organise transport from BA or either airport. Highly recommended.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The beautiful location and the special experience to stay on a working ranch.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I enjoyed the horse ridding very much. The "Indian doma" exhibition and the folklore songs and dancing. Staff and owner were always very kind and everything went very smoothly. They were always attentive in trying to fulfill our wishes. The breakfast was very good, the lunch and dinner as well. Meat and salads were excellent! I'm very grateful.

Cons: I was very happy with everything
9.6 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: the location is excellent.
Cons: nothing
6.3 Good
Pros: Very good breakfast. Nice reception and breakfast area. Very helpful receptionist. Pool small but very nice and refreshing after a hot day.
Cons: Bathroom condition was completely unacceptable. One room lock almost impossible to work properly. Lots of humidity damage to the walls.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was amazing!
Cons: The bed was a little bit uncomfortable
6.7 Good
Pros: Great location. Antigua Casona is three or four blocks from the bus station and a block and a half from the main plaza. There are six rooms in the hotel running down one side of a small courtyard. On the other side of the courtyard is an exterior wall separating the hotel from a neighbouring property. My wife and I spent two nights there in early March 2019. On both nights we were the only guests in the hotel.
Cons: I don't normally leave negative feedback but there were two things we really didn't like about our stay at Antigua Casona. The first was no fault of the hotel, but guests should be warned. On our second night (a Thursday) the neighbours on the other side of the courtyard began an outdoor party about nine o'clock which featured someone attempting to play bongos very loudly and very badly. Periodically they would stop for fifteen or twenty minutes, then just as we were dropping off to sleep the bongos would start again. This went on till three o'clock in the morning. This may or may not be a regular occurrence but if you choose to stay here, make sure you bring a good pair of earplugs. (I now notice that one earlier review complained about noisy neighbours.) The second bad experience did involve the hotel. The listing on Booking.com states that the price quoted "includes taxes and charges". When I went to pay the bill, I asked the guy at the front desk whether the charge on my bill (which was the same as the price quoted on Booking.com) did include taxes. He confirmed that it did. I then explained that as foreigners paying with a foreign debit card (the hotel does not accept credit cards), we were exempt from the 21% VAT. I also explained that we had been travelling around Argentina for ten weeks and that no other hotel had charged us the tax. He looked at me, thought a bit, than asked me to wait while he went to check. A couple of minutes later he returned and said that he had been wrong and that the price I was being billed did NOT include taxes! I shook my head, didn't argue, and just paid the bill. It was only an extra ARS$1100 or so; not enough to bankrupt us but enough to leave a bad taste in the mouth.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Centrally located close to restaurants, Bus Station

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The house and gardens are absolutely stunning!! So beautiful! And the service was amazing: there was a storm when we were there. First, when it started raining, the owner (?) walked through the rain to our apartment to bring umbrellas. Then, when we were in town and the power went out across town, he called to see if we were ok and offered to pick us up. Great service!! The breakfast in the beautiful kitchen was also nice. Definitely recommend this place highly! We booked the apartment with 2 bedrooms, it's very big and private (you walk there in 2 min from the house, beauriful walk through the garden)
Cons: Almost nothing! Only thing I can think of is that we rented an apartment, but it did not have enough glasses and plates etc for all of us. Next to that, only one of the two bedrooms had airco so that can be a potential improvement, but we did not mind this

7.9 Good
Pros: It’s a lovely place, well located to the park, restaurants, and the historic city center. The room was quiet even though on the street for the Gaucho Festival. The room was spacious with aircon. Given how hot it was outside, we were happy to have it. Except for the rude man who works the dining room, all the staff were extremely helpful and respectful. I also appreciated their patience with my Spanish, a second language for me.
Cons: I noticed that the carpets in the upstairs passageway are in need of repair. They are wrinkled and one could easily trip. The hotel is expensive, 4 star, and offers many amenities, including an outdoor pool. Why then is the breakast a 2 star, so unimaginative and of poor quality? Yes, there were apples and oranges, but a third normal size, and tasteless. The medialunas were tiny and dry, while others eaten in town were fluffy and delicious. The coffee was watery. I think it would behoove the owners to rethink the menu....hard boiled eggs, real orange juice, quality coffee, etc. Hope this is helpful.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely patio and sun deck. Excellent location and easy access. Friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: Room deco could be improved
4.6 Okay
Pros: The location of the hotel
Cons: Too expensive for what it is. Inside everything is old: towels, AC, tv, bathroom, etc. The shower didn’t work properly, the AC was noisy, the sheets were stained, the doors were noisy and the prize was too high for what is it

3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The town and the position of the house are very nice and calm, the house itself is a wonderful colonial house, but it's totally abadoned and dirty.
Cons: This place is an insult towards any other hospedaje in Argentina who is trying to meet guests in a decent manner and trying to make business in right way, with respect to the guests and not thinking only about money. The building is great indeed, a wonderful colonial house in a quiet and nice city, but it looks like it was opened two days ago after 70 years of abandonment, put up a bed and put the guests in. Dirty, old stuff everywhere, abandoned medicine, leafs inside the closets. Horrible conditions everywhere. The owner stalked us prior to our arrival to sell us activities, and it’s easy to understand why, since money is the only thing that matter, not the guests relax, not cleaning or helping (nobody helped us with the luggage, they were just looking). Dogs roams freely and nobody say nothing, even when doing “breakfast”, that means a dirty table full of flies, with juice poured hours before in open glasses, and coffee available in an old thermos. We literally run away, after paying the highest price payed in Argentina in a single night, in dollars and with all the taxes that are not due from foreign visitors. Visit the city, the pueblo and the beautiful country but stay well away from this place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The amazing house, the comfortable room, the friendly staff and more...

Pros: The staff were super friendly and helpful. Preparing my room for me so I could check in earlier. Great breakfast and then they allowed me to leave my bags and come back later on in the day past the check out time to collect them.
Cons: My room was clean but the sheets had marks on them and the bathroom could have done with a final once over.
7.5 Good
Pros: the staff were helpful and speak english
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hostel was great about my early check-in after arriving on the night bus and Santiago texted me to make sure I had the directions. Nora checked me in and looked after me the whole time. She could not have been warmer or kinder and her English is excellent! She also tried very hard to arrange horseback riding for me although unfortunately it didn't happen because of the rain. I stayed in the loft which was very cosy and the whole hostel is homey and welcoming. Also the shower was hot and powerful :)
Cons: WiFi was a little slow
9.2 Excellent

Pros: I was late to check in, Nicolas the host, who live in another house, told some guest to let me in and help me set. It's a quite place but very cool
Cons: Wish I can stay one more night

7.1 Good
Pros: Location - well located, easy access. Staff - people are very kind and polite.
Cons: Price. Of course it’s not the same as a hotel, but it is hard to avoid making comparisons. For this price you can have a really nice hotel in many different parts of the world.
7.9 Good
Pros: Nice garden, great that they have pools with nice furniture, a nice veranda and very nice owners. We could check out a little later, thank you!
Cons: Very near the busy National Road so there is the constant sound of cars...... In the bathroom you miss places to put your toiletries, not enough hooks. The shower is to small, we were in a constant fight with the shower curtain. We stayed 2 nights with 3 people in one room. There was no cleaning (of emptying of the garbish bin). A bit minimal breakfast. And if you go there for horsebackriding: don't go to the neighbours; they don't look well after there horses and bad equipment and they take you on a very dusty road. Not so much fun. Ask the owners of the Posade to help you to find a nicer place for horseback riding.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The property is surrounded by a large garden with a small swimming pool perfect for cooling off after a day of exploring
Cons: A bit damp, our clothes would not easily dry especially on a rainy day
