small, quiet, clean. Very helpful front desk. (Carlos)
Tiny room. Barely room to walk. Expensive, Not worth----. Breakfast room to small to accommodate guests.
Parking is minimal and $15 per night. Call ahead if you drive a large SUV/Truck and they'll reserve an easier spot for you to get in/out of.Great location and great room for the price. Clean and well kept. Looks as though it was recently renovated. The best part is its proximity to the downtown/Gaslamp district. Both nights we stayed here we were able to easily walk the 5-6 blocks to the Gaslamp restaurants/bars and back without issue. I would definitely stay here again.

Serves breakfast & afternoon snack. Walking distance to shops.
No self serve parking. Valet parking only and not complimentary.I love to checked in to Embassy Suite because the hotel does not have a long creepy hallways. I like the hollow in the middle where you can see what's going on inside the hotel.
The location in downtown San Diego a block from seaport village.
The only concern I have is with my credit card. During my two night, 3 day stay my credit card was placed with the following credit holds: $440.00, $100.00, $8.12 and then $39.00.

I liked the staff and the very clean queen suite. I would definitly stay here again if I come to San Diego. I was just ok with the regular 2 full beds room. The location of the hotel made it easy enough to walk to the light rail to get around almost anywhere.
My reservation was for the queen suite, not a regular room. This was for my first night in San Diego. I think the bill I paid should have had that reduced to reflect that one inconvenience. Otherwise, there was nothing I would have changed with my stay there.... more

I liked the free energy bars, popcorn, water bottles, microwave, and refrigerator in the room. Breakfast was good and healthy. Liked the nice front desk and maid staff. Helpful with road directions. The parking is convenient; $15/day. Wi fi free.
I stayed on the 4th floor and counted on the elevator working. It did during the majority of my stay, but broke down on the day I was leaving. Temperature control in my room was spotty, but I didn't mind it too much. Hair dryer was cold. All nonsmoking rooms. There is a good Italian restaurant about 2 blocks away after some steep walking. Moderately priced. I drove to the hotel on one-way streets, which require planning and a downloadable map, also available from front desk. Close to Convention Center. I really liked the breakfast, which kept me from starving on some days, when I saved an extra roll and could not find dinner at the Convention Center.
free parking in fact (maybe due to my staying for 2 days)
breakfast are bad

It was cheap.
Basically everything. Almost everything in the room was not functional. Only 2 of the 6 lights in the room worked. Very uncomfortable bed. Noisy crackhead neighbors who kept us up all night. The clientele at this hotel made me very uncomfortable.
The staff were really wonderful - just truly nice people. The Inn itself was very reasonably price (particularly once free parking is taken into account, which was readily available on the premises). Being within walking distance of the Gaslamp was great.
The room itself achieved a level of dilapidation that one would expect only in a third-world country. The mattress smelled like stale smoke. The area immediately surrounding the Inn was rough and a little scary at night. The noise level was very high.Let me paint a picture for you. I open the door to my room and take in a dull aroma of ancient cigarettes - noticeable, but not oppressive. I turn on the light switch and a single bulb illuminates the far wall from a sconce, sending a dim yellow glow throughout the rest of the room. The floors are unpainted, poured cement. But there are two beds, just as I requested; the room is reasonably clean; and heck, I'm saving a lot of money. So fair enough. ...

The staff was great. The front desk people did a outstanding job. Took time to answer questions, make suggestions.
Weekend breakfast was very busy, had to wait for a table to eat. Look like there was only one person refilling food stations, had to wait for food to be replaced on the weekend. Prefer to have pork sausage everday instead of the turkey every day.Having the shuttle service was a real plus in staying here. Having a walking map of places close by to pick up snack foods, restauarants including prices would have been helpful. Having three computers in the lobby for guest use was a plus, if there was a wait it was only a few minutes.
parking structure was horrible and small. and had to pay $16 dollars a night for parking

The price was affordable.
The location was in undesirable area. Parking was limited. The room was affordable and office staff was friendly. Location was undesirable because it was right off the freeway, which is loud. It was a couple of blocks from our desired location, however there was many homeless people wondering around, which makes traveling by foot sketchy. I believe that its affordably enables low-income, unstable individuals to stay there as well. While getting into our car we had a man storm out of room with threating words. Luckily, the situation was diffused by us driving away. Overall, we were safe. But we would pay a little extra next time to insure safety and accessibility.
I liked the fact that it was located in downtown San Diego. it is close to a must try hodad's if you're not from around. Also it's close to the Gaslamp. So mainly location is what i liked.
I didn't like that there were a lot of homeless roaming around. I got lucky with parking but it is very limited. You could also hear footsteps from above. It is located in a busy street so sometimes you can hear cars go by.... more

Location and cleaniness
The staff was really polite and helpful, however it felt like they were always in a rush when it came to answer questions, plus when I arrive they ask me for my cc I gave it to the gentleman and he said it didn't go through and he never mention the amountVery we'll located in a very nice neighborhood
The hotel staff were amazing, the location is great and near all that you want to see in this area. And the view from our room was AWESOME!
We had a slight issue with an elevator, but the hotel staff did an incredible in getting this resolved. Otherwise this minor problem was not enough to sway our opinion, we are going to stay at this hotel again. This is by far one of the best locations for the price that was obtained using Priceline.com, without a doubt we will be doing this again. Thank you Priceline.com for the great prices, we would have paid much more for this hotel at this location without your service. And thank you Bayside BestWestern, your staff was incredible and the services and hotel met all expectations.
