Price Breakfast doesn' exist; noise of conditioner; hotel doesn't clean
The air conditioning was great. It's location is wonderful. The elevator did not work and we had to lug all of our stuff up several flights of stairs. The room was not as clean as it could be. The shower head flew off while my 11 yr old was taking a shower. The elevator did not work. The pipes in the kitchenette leaked. The complementary breakfast is only served at 8:30, and by that time we were already on the way to the conference center. There was no in room safe. We had to request towels every day even though the maid had already been there. It was quite a learning experience for me and my family. Although the management was very nice when we complained, we will not be staying there again.
very close to downtown/ little italy some lights did not work and the sheets were kind of dirty
Staff friendly Hotel was being remodeled, air in water lines banged alot when water was on, hot and cold lines switched, rooms smelled of fresh paint, etc. These problems will probably deminish with time.
Hotel is very noisy, dirty and smelly.
Location is excellent, in Little Italy, within walking distance to downtown and Balboa Park. Lots of restaurants nearby. Hotel is under the flight path for San Diego airport, with planes beginning to land at 5am. Also, West Grape street is busy and noisy.
The location was good. I was pleased with location. The hotel appeared to be under some construction in some parts and there was nothing indicating such, the indicator was dust. There were black plastic trash bags right outside of my window. There was no room to walk between the beds and the dresser or the table and chairs.
The location and the quality of the rooms for the price. There wasn't a snack machine or ice machine.
The cost was right. It was a clean, well-lit place. Nothing exceptional. Staff was very friendly. Small rooms.
reasonable distance to convention centre--but not good if you don't want to walk 1/2 hour it was under construction. I hope the amenities will improve once they are finished.
Everything was awesome . Pete was great with us . I will defitinally return (:
Price was good for location. Hotel seemed musty and also had issues with bugs. Did not feel comfortable so we left one night earlier than scheduled to check out. Would not recommend to anyone.
Location was ideal and it was cheaper than the surrounding hotels. The room was clean and had everything you need. Not fancy, but was just what I was looking for.
The stuffs were very kind and gentle. The location was near railways and airport, which made noisy situation.
The hotel (or actually, motel) is located next to the railway, which caused a lot of noise. In addition, the airport is very near, which causes additional noise if a plane lands and uses the trust-reversers to brake. The furniture in the rooms is old and damaged. The breakfast is very plain, with only a choice of waffles and cereals. I was planning to stay for 7 nights, but the price/quality ratio was very bad. I left after 1 night, and had to pay a 2-night fine for leaving earlier. This motel is for sure not the best deal in San Diego.
It's a basic hotel with moderate accommodations. The stuff was nice. The location is great. Jack-in-the Box is right next to it to grab a simple breakfast.
close to down town, and in middle of little italy need be more basic facilities like laundry
The location is great. San Diego is super relaxed, if you compare it to the traffic in LA or SF. So if you just stay over night in this hotel, it is perfect.
the vicinity to the convention center very noisy from trains, every thing was very old - towels;, bathroom, no closet. in your site it was told that the place was renovat!?
The access to kids park across the street is perfect. from there is a quick walk to the Midway carrier ship. Access to the green line metro train is very convenient to take you back and forth to the gaslamp district. I would stay there again. Staff is friendly. Keep in mind they do not work for the Beverly Hills Hilton so don't expect much. parking is tight. Don't expect to find a spot after 11pm. Take the metro train if possible and leave your car at the hotel. The rooms are a little small and are limited with power outlets. There is enough to do with in a 3 mile radius that you shouldn't be in your room anyways.
It was close to downtown San Diego and conventions. Also close to gaslight with numerous restaurants.
The Inn is conveniently located just off the I-5, close to downtown (2.0 miles to Gaslamp) and is a few minutes walk from the Harbour Waterfront Boulevard. There was ample parking, the room and restroom were clean and comfortable and the staff were courteous and friendly. All in all, great for a short weekend holiday in SD, which is a wonderfuly city. Though there were enough plug-points to go around, there could be a couple more.
Friendly service, clean room Nothing
The location was the only good quality about this hotel. We were put in a room that had a roach problem, it was disgusting. When I complained to the front desk he did absolutely nothing to compensate me for having to stay in a filthy room. This should be a hotel listed for one night stands, not for a couple wanting to stay waterfront. I will never stay here again.
The view of the ocean was great. Our room faced the street. It is not luxurious but it is clean and the value is outstanding. I also appreciated the remotes for the television - they actually clean them! The staff in particular Michele (I believe that was her name) was friendly, accommodating and helpful. I would definitely stay there again. Not much I didn't like, again the value was great so if you want a ton of frills and luxury look elsewhere.
Location Outdated and uncomfortable
LOCATION, comfortable bed, easy parking, clean room, value, ease of check in We stayed on the bottom floor and we where able to hear the people above us walking around, the bathroom was really small, room decor was dated
Location & price. Free Wi-FI was faster than more expensive hotels Tiny room & extremely basic. Not enough parking.
Clean rooms with a mini fridge. Free parking with spots open. 5 min walk to little italy. 30 minute walk to gaslamp. Nothing. Everything worked out great for us.
Location was good. Staff was kind and helpful. Shower drain clogged. There was not any free breakfast like Kayak said there would be, really bummed about that. Pretty spendy for quality and bathrooms could have been cleaner.
great location... the toilet clogged twice after my boys used it... :(
The room is nice and clean, decent view. There were no towels in my room or the shared bathroom. Front desk has certain operating hours so no one to help. I had to leave for business right when front desk came in for the day. Drying with old clothes was no bueno.
Hotel staff was friendly. Hotel room was not at all near to the pictures shown on website.
I don't recommend this hotel to anyone.
Friendly staff, nicely appointed space, comfortable rooms, welcoming patio area to enjoy the weather, amazing location in Little Italy and close to Balboa park. Small neighborhood park two blocks away where my daughter played soccer everyday.
close to little italy and waterfront super noisy from highway and air planes very frequently
Loved the spa and small hotel feel No breakfast during the week
The Hotel Vyvant is a charming little boutique hotel very near to Little Italy. My stay was one night only. The young women at the desk when I arrived was friendly, welcoming, and professional. There was a bit of highway noise but I am reasonably sound sleeper and I have no problems with it. Even though I'm pretty attentive to detail I somehow managed to miss that I would have a shared bathroom. The room rate of $105 was a good bargain with a bathroom, but without I would not have paid $60 for my room. I am not a "hotel person" and have few requirements, but a bathroom is one of them. My other gripe is that I was there for a business meeting and needed to be on my way before the complimentary breakfast was served starting at 8am That is simply too late for many guests. So for $105 I got a very small bedroom with a small TV and a sitting chair. There was no desk to work, and a shared bathroom and no breakfast.
The nice location in the city (downtown, very close to public transport/Airport) and the definetely the price. It was quite packed in the small room with 4 people. Although it it could be somehow expected the pictures on the net are a little bit misleading.
Good staff, clean rooms and bathrooms, well located if you are staying Down-town or heading to San Diegos Convention Center and you are not in a rush No heating, even cold in May-June. Bit noisy because of the room's and bathroom's door-closing mechanism.
location the carpet was dirty
nothing al all the room was 5*8 square feet and the bathrooms were 14 between 60 rooms so it's disgusting it's better to be animals place more than human . thanks
