Nice hotel on the beach
Smiling charming staff in resturants ,bar, housekeeping and activities. , good location on beach , nice accomodations and gardens , honest good food . Petty things. (1.) Room rate quoted in us dollars, wanted to pay in euros , this attracted a 5% premium over local exchange rate.(2) Had to pay USD 30 extra to use room safe box key. (3) Reception staff poor and welcome lacking , generally not helpfull nor interested .
The staff at the restaurant were very nice and the show was amazing. I did not realize when I booked that the building I stayed at was the older rooms. I saw the rooms at the palace and they were by far much nicer and had ocean views. I did make a big deal as I was on my honeymoon and did not need to have the luxary room. But if I ever go there again I probably would expect to get the rooms at the Palace.
It was bright and very clean, very nice staff. Air conditioner The kitchen was not stocked, no pots, no coffeemaker, no real utensils, didn't really have a hot water, noisy frogs @ night
Princesse, sweet dog! Terribly rude, inconsiderate, group of college-aged students from Norway. With loud obnoxious blaring music, drinking parties lasting till 3 A.M., excessively noisy disturbances next to poolside lasting until 6 A.M.,etc. The security guard was observed unlocking a refrigerator next to a commons area near poolside and actually serving these noisy party animals after midnight! After tolerating the excessive late night parties for three nights, we expressed our need for some sleep and quiet to the manager.......to absolutely no avail! The Hummingbird does not have a full time or resident manager on the premises. Consequently, no one, including the night security man does anything to control the excessive noise, loud partying, and other nightly disturbances. On our last night's stay, this group once again held the rest of the guest hostage to their excessive noise by ripping up white bed sheets and holding a wild, music blaring, "Toga" party! Finally, at 10:15, the security guy ( who was probably aware by this time some attempt should be made to quell the noise level ) told them to hold it down. After moving their party upstairs, several came back down to poolside about 3:30 A.M., and proceeded to talk loud and noisily till nearly 5!
