In the heart of the Castro district. Newly renovated room was spotlessly clean. Free parking a big plus.
We had read previous reviews and find them totally unfounded! We had a great room, clean, very spacious plus the hotel supplied free parking. Friends who happened to be in town at the same time were paying $40 per night for parking at a downtown hotel. The location is excellent and personally we could not fault the hotel.
its noisy and you can not get and with the lower price i got better hotel with better location.
Very good price and excellent location on Market Street near Castro. Secure but modest, it is a good deal. Noisy location but not surprising given the great public transportation running on Market.
Staff was mostly pleasant and helpful but were not familiar with the room locations or soda machines Noisy, hot, robberry/stabbing occurred while I was there--frightening place
It's in the middle of Castro and streetcar brings you fast to downtown Rooms were smelling strange en bed matras were dirty
The beds were ok, easy access to public transportation No AC in room had to leave door open with weak box fan supplied. Urine smell by elevator and stairs. Rubber band held shower door shut,
I was very greatful that we were able to park our car in the motor lodge's parking lot prior to our check in time as we were going to a music festival all day.
The pilot in the heater was not lighted.
The room was spotless. The front desk was friendly and helpful. Neighborhood was fun No breakfast
Convincible location Short of towels and rags,
Great place to stay if u wanna be in the castro, Consistently comfortable and clean! Re: the construction: more than fine!! It seems they r wrapping up. Na
Good location. Kind people. Wifi. No bedbugs. Reasonable price. Toilet and bathroom is shared. No elevators. Kinda old. A little bit noisy when you open the windows.
The location in the Castro district. Clean bathrooms Daily room cleaning Quiet Comfortable Nothing. Hope to stay here again.
There was nowhere in the hotel or room description that said there was shared toilets and showers.
The windown inmy room was broken and didn't open/close well
Its in a decent enough neighborhood close to all sorts of stuff. If you're looking at this place because of its location, I suggest looking farther afield and using San Francisco's mass transit. If your time is worth enough that mass transit isn't an option, you're probably wealthy enough to look elsewhere. If you're looking at this place because of the price, you get what you pay for. Particularly when it comes to shared bathrooms, wifi slower than 4G, and, if you're there during a heat wave like me, a distinct lack of air conditioning. So, is this place worth your money? A better question might be, is anything in San Francisco?
Fely more like i was staying in dormitories rather than a hotel. I wish i had that knowledge beforehand. Quaint felt like i waa stepping back in time accomodations wise. Location is great walking distance to dolores park and groceries and nightlife.
Freezing cold. The windows were constantly opened even though it was 30 degrees some nights Amazing location- close to great restaurants and transportation.
Location, price and connectivity No furniture. Was only for a night so would not comment more. Ok for a night stay.
The hotel is right near many fantastic restaurants (Truly Mediterranean, Pancho Villa Taqueria) and bars (Zeitgeist), right on many Bus lines and the 16th St & Mission BART station that will get you anywhere you need to go, you can be to Market street or Embarcadero in less than 15-20 minutes including walking. Plenty of city noise if you don't mind it. Low-frills room with decently comfortable beds, mini fridge (the best part), flatscreen TV, shower. If you're a savvy traveler, it's the perfect place to clean up and shower and maybe even get some sleep between all your adventures in the Bay area.
Value, staff The neighborhood, no way to adjust the temp in the room
Many interesting restaurants in the area. The room was 'clean' but smelled very bad of old, musty and food. I was traveling alone and did not feel safe in the neighborhood at night.
To start the homeless sleep outside the so called "hotel". Pretty sure I witness a drug deal while walking to the hotel. Also the hotel didn't seem like one. It was more like a big house and the renters might leave there with smaller children. No parking included!!
Location. And it reminded me of a hostel. The bathrooms are shared on each floor. Could have been a lil cleaner.
It was a clean room in an old building in a party district. I felt safe and slept with the window open. The music downstairs was cool as we had been to hardly strictly bluegrass festival and were coming down off the good times and good music. It is right by a Bart station but we didn't use it. Having the bathroom and shower across the hall was not an issue. It is hard to find free parking but possible. Bring good energy and the parking gods might smile upon you.
U have to realize that any regular hotel in a 1 mile radius of there is gonna be at least $250. This gets u in a very convenient location right across the street from the BART subway. Bathrooms were very clean and up to most anyone's standards At the time only one shower was working, easy to hear rooms next door, abundant transients in that neighborhood of SF.
