I loved the modern yet contemporary design.... very different from the other hotels in europe. The hotel was in a perfect location for the beach as well. Well, the hotel wasnt totally complete when we were there (July 5, 2009), but i would definitly like the people at the spa to speak more english and we had a bit of trouble with the internet on the t.v.
size and style of the rooms, location, the breakfast was nice, staff at the reception, noise level in the evening due to the proximity of the next building, technical issues with aircon and lights in the room - start up issues I assume
The staff is courteous and attentive. Parking is on site in an underground garage This hotel is not a good value. The room had minimal furniture, the shower leaked all over the floor, and charging for wifi is neanderthal. The hotel is too far from the center of town.
Staff generally pleasant and helpful.Room well cleaned and a good size, large bed -a genuine king-size not just 2 smaller beds pushed together as is sometimes found.Nice spa area with good sized indoor heated pool.Good breakfast and tea and coffee making facilities in room. The biggest problem we had with this hotel was the lack of information in the room concerning how the room "worked" and the air-conditioning.For example;how does the air-conditioning work?what are the buttons on the wall for?(apparently pushing one of them gives a "do not disturb"message to the cleaners so they dont clean the room)Also, by the time we worked it all out we had spent 2 nights in a room with malfunctioning air-con which we were repeatedly told was because we were not keeping the window closed.(the problem turned out to be a sensor in the window apparently)After the second night we were moved to another room where we had no problems although we still felt that the air-con was not good enough for the ,admittedly extreme, heat.
The rooms are high-tech, the rooftop bar was good and the spa was well placed on the top floor (and not in the basement like other hotels). Hotel was well located in a quiet part of Grado overlooking the lagoon. Staff very friendly & helpful. Only gripes: Flat screen cable TV reception varied with the weather. No iron in room - had to send everything to expensive hotel laundry with indifferent results.
Clean and nice Rooms, very good resturant with a beautiful view to the laguna di grado, good breakfest, frendly staff
Room No seaview
we were completly satisfied with our choose.
Well-situated hotel with great sea view from our 4th-stock room. Really nice and clean rooms with modern design furniture. We felt well throughout.
Very clean and large room. Cleaning service twice a day. Very good breakfast. The roof bar is very fine with great view, unfortunately you can't enjoy it while sitting. It's a pity that only a view people use it. Although the hotel is not quite cheap neither sunbeds and umbrellas nor bicycles are included. We once went to the restaurant, good, expensive, but the service didn't really care for us after we had ordered. The bottle of wine was in a wine cooler 2 meters away and none ever took a look at our glasses or asked if we'd like some dessert or else.
The staff was very helpful the room very spacious and the rate reasonable, I definitely will stay again and recommend to others.
Downtown, central but absolute tranquillity. Hotel bar: out of order
i had no complaints. people were very sympathetic not applocable
Clean rooms and public area. Friendly and helpfull staff To expensive for the quality and location, rooms are small, breakfast room is too dark
staff attitude, cleanliness of room and overall the hotel. On top of all quality of cappuccino during breakfast
The lobby was the only thing nice about this hotel the rest of the place was horribly filthy. It's not even worth it if it was free to stay here. This place is a dump and we all left after one night even though they told me they would have to charge my card for the entire four days. The bathroom was so filthy the grout between the tile was black with mildew. The shower walls were coated with soap scum and the soap dish had mildew and soap scum stains. The sink had stains in it from the prior occupants mucus spit. The beds are hard and lumpy the floor would have been more comfortable. You also can’t see the beach because the pine trees in front of the windows are in the way and they don’t have hotel rooms on the higher floors. I got a two rooms for the rest of my stay at Hotel Bellavista and it was 10 Eu cheaper even though the place is brand new! Hotel international is a dump.
The people were very friendly Restaurant and bar was closed, no room service, and you also you had to reserve time to get into the sauna. We made a reservation for the sauna that morning and when we went down there for our reserved time we were told that it was closed for the year. Also there fitness area consisted of only three pieces of equipment, one which was broke. Bad communication.. david
Walking distance to beach and shopping promenade
I think, it s not 4-stars Hotel, it's good 3-star.
close to the beach, close to the city/shopping area, nice hotel staff you can hear everything from the room near by (TV, sex...)
We've been gong to lignano sabbadoro for the past eight years and this is our whole family's favorite.Very good atmosphere - great food - easy access -great buffet -amazing !! Always very booked so be sure to make reservation.More foreingners guests than italian.
The pool is not large and sunbeds a little limited in number.Towel reservation much in evidence.Wine prices were either E9 or E18 which was rather strange
Pool, Service, Food, bike service. Better control of falsely occupied beds near the pool (beds that are not used but nevertheless reserved by putting a towel).
Good breakfast and restaurant service, nice garden and pool No internet connection available, acoustic coupling of neighboring roome
The pool area is very good. The staff excellent. The selection of food marvellous!
Besides the hotel we enjoy the surroundings!
When we entered the hotel we regret directly that we choose for this hotel. This hotel is obvious not a 5 star hotel. The facilities are minimum, towels are not beeing refreshed every morning, the internet in the room was not working at all and there was only cold water coming out of the shower. After we complained many times, they told us "We are very sorry for you, because you are on this side of the hotel it takes a bit time that you will receive warm water".The beach is not directly next to the hotel and not private. There is no shower on the beach to clean yourselve.I Would range this hotel as a 3 star hotel, and would not recommend this hotel for people who want to enjoy a nice and luxurious stay in a wonderfull city
Everything was clean, in order. I liked to have the hotel bycicles, but a carefull selection before usage is important, as the chairs were wet. We used the child chaires which was also good. The parking was very crowded.
more privacy attention like small presents arriving time and leaving time, highest quality of food in restorante, fresh juice on breakfast and etc, yes, price and jquality of service is not accordanly
Location, cleanliness, None
The owners were very nice and helpful. I liked the room that we had, a family room with beautiful design. The breakfast was good with fruit, cheese, bread, cereals (no hot food). the hotel is perfect situated for exploring Grado.
The staff were nice people, never saying "no" to a customer (due to lack of english skills sometimes did not help much though :). Except of day 1, the rooms have been kept clean enough. Not our worst experience, but by far not the best as well. Part of the staff (at the reception desk!) is not speaking english. Italiano only. The room which we have booked was presented by photographs in the booking system, however in reality the room was rather different; similar furniture, yet considerably less space. The breakfast offer was getting poorer and poorer from day to day. Not our worst experience, but by far not the best as well.
Location I do not believe that Al Cigno deserve 4 stars.
Food. We liked every little peace of meal we got on breakfast or dinner including great salad bar and deserts. Rather small lift, little bit difficult to fit pushchair.
Nice pool, small but good rooms, nice bathroom very much children, you can hear them (neighbours) in the morning. So it's difficult to sleep late ;)
this is a very good hotel to stay even though the hotel was closing down for the season the family made us very welcome. they looked after us and guided us to the best resturants and areas to visit a big thank you to them jacqueline andrew and martin.xx no
No a 4-star as advertized. Solid 3 stars and even then could be better. Too far from the sea for a beach holiday. Good tennis courts and swimming pool. Strange location. Very small rooms. Very small rooms. Overrated.
Very friendly and helpful staff, good location close to the beach and the Lignano city center. Good value for money. Plentiful breakfast with continental and Italian options. Fresh Italian coffee instead of the one from dispenser would be a great start to the mornings...
Very close to stores, restaurants, and arcades. Not a bad walk to beach. Living room area had no windows so it stayed very warm. No table indoors to eat. Hot tub was empty so unusable.
Close to beach, easy reach to evening life, shops but quiet.
close to the city center, reserved umbrella at the beach no facilites for children; garden in poor condition
Hotel staff was very nice and friendly
The location is very convenient from the airport. It is only a 10 km drive and you don't have to go into busy Trieste. We only stayed here for 1 night but we like the small village and the people from the hotel were very friendly and helpfull. Additionally the breakfast was good with nice fresh products. None.
Handy parking. Helpful and friendly staff with good suggestions for nearby restaurants. Unexpected fresh orange juice for breakfast.
the hotel was fine for our one night stay, helpful staff, and good breakfast private secure parking a bonus. we found the decor a little heavy for our taste, but as we were just passing through it was fine.
The Hotel is situated close to the airport, so for a hotel I chose mostly because of its location, i was pleasantly surprised by the outstanding staff, that do go out of their way to make your stay at the hotel as pleasant as possible. The breakfast was good and the rooms very nice.
That was my second visit to Hotel Franz, a one-night stop on the way from France to Hungary. And it was again perfect, with a special mention about the kindness and the efficiency of the staff. I will remember the perfect breakfast! Nothing
Staff went over and beyond what could be expected from any hotel of any price. The hotel is located by the city centre of a nice little town close by Trieste airport. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a place to stay prior to traveling from Trieste airport.
Good location - within 20 minutes of the Airport, lots of good restaurants within 5 minutes walk. Situated in a very attractive small town. Staff friendly and helpful, very good English spoken. Nothing
Nice friendly stafff, Clean room with upgrade to superior room.
The atmosphere The breakfast
All was fnatastic! Nothing.
Staff and the hotel design breakfast did not correspond to the image of the hotel
wide selection of spa treatments, termal pool slightly shabby decor
wide and comfortable rooms, nice builing, nice location, friendly staff. Very good area for beakfast
Very comfortable hotel with everything included - extremely clean and everything you can wish for. Amazing roof top pool., small but perfect! Lignano isn't great, very touristy but the hotel made up for this!
Friendly and helpful staff who could also speak english! The roof top terrace was excellent. Breakfast was acceptable but the evening meal was not upto a 4* standard.
Excellent service, incredible food for an unbelieveable price..highly recommended. Thanks, JJ Rooms design too cold
Excellent rooms and good location of the hotel.
4th floor facilities, breakfast, bar. free bikes and access to beach chairs.
Restauran and food just exellent. The manager Idris in restauran charming, helpful and you want to come again. Everything was very good.
location at the beach, near centre of the city poor breakfast, poor wine, small rooms, very samll bath-room.
good location the double room is tiny
The room service was perhaps the best I've encountered in all of my overseas travels. The hotel was immaculate at all times and the staff went out of their way to assist in any way possible throughout my stay.
Pleasant situation in the heart of Grado on the Canal. Nice breakfast with great variety. Front rooms must have a great view. The traffic situation: It is not easy to access the hotel by car. It would be helpful to give directions. You could say if the room you are offering is a front or a back room.
Everything was ok, free wifi was also available in the lobby. Not the nicest Hotel, but definitely a good bang for a buck.
The location was the best in Grando, I looked at all the other 4 star hotels and this had the best location with easy access to the bus station and the old town, I brought a return bus ticket at the information office at the airport it was only 5 euros. The staff are friendly and the breakfast was German with itailian bread. They did have english tea which surprised me. The rooms have a plastic shower with water jets and a seat. The room was not very modern with old tv and furnishings, the bed was huge and very confortable. The hotel is only half the size of the pictured building as the end in private flats and a shop. I would recommend this hotel as the location and views was the best in Grando. The reception gave us the time table for the bus from Grando to the train station, and the train station timings into Trieste. They also told us about the boat trips. They did everything that we required.
A lovely hotel in a terrific location. Very nice room and friendly staff. I'd definitely stay at the Metripole again.
