Hostal el Patio is located in Tlacotalpan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This yellow, colonial-style guest house offers air-conditioned rooms, free WiFi and free parking. All rooms have a private balcony, fan and flat-screen cable TV. There is a private bathroom with a bath tub and amenities. El Patio has a games room and lounge. Guests can also relax in the charming garden courtyard. Luggage storage and a laundry service are offered. There is also a tour desk. Veracruz and Los Tuxtlas National Park are both 100 km away.
Pros: Small and charming little hostel, guest house style. Clean
Cons: The room was quite dark but nice and spacious
Pros: Good breakfast and the young woman who serves breakfast and cleans is very nice and helpful. Excellent room and outside area, good value for money. I'd definitely return.
Pros: Cause everything was perfect.
Pros: It was a very pretty place with an expansive inner courtyard with birds, and nice plants. The decoration everywhere was very nice and thoughtfully done. It's located close to everything in Tlacotalpan, which is pretty small and totally walkable. I liked being able to put stuff in the refrigerator, and having breakfast included. Also, it was nice to be able to park my car inside their gates, although it wouldn't fit many more cars -- I got there early...but, there's easy and safe parking right out front, as it's a residential street. I appreciated very much the bottle of water in the room and the availability of purified water to refill bottles. It had air conditioning, but I preferred to use the ceiling fan. Nice shower and good hot water.
Cons: I was surprised the hostess didn't know exactly how to tell me where the ATM was in town. She knew the building but didn't know where the building was on a map (turns out it was not very far). A minor, minor thing, but it seemed strange to me. I'd also have appreciated a hair dryer in the room, or a sign that said "If you need a hair dryer, you can sign one out at the reception," or something like that. As for the room itself, I prefer rooms that have exterior windows -- these rooms had the window facing the courtyard so it was heavily curtained, and I like open windows and lots of natural light. That's not the fault of the hotel, that's a traditional design. The reading lights were inadequate, but that is a common inadequacy in many hotels in some foreign countries, not just Mexico. Being a seasoned traveler, I had my own clip-on reading light.
Pros: Beautiful hostel with spacious, clean rooms. Staff are really friendly and offer a delicious breakfast. We would definitely recommend this hostel for anyone visiting tlacoatalpan!
Pros: Very clean and quiet, a short walk to the town's attractions and restaurants.
Pros: Wonderful place Good situation Very Nice people
Cons: Breackfast can be better ...
Pros: Great service at a fair price
Pros: My GPS took me to the wrong place, but it was only off by a few hundred feet. Once I found the hotel, everything went smooth. Staff and owner were super nice. Very clean and tranquil. Breakfast was good and the bed was fantastic. Had the best night's sleep ever.
Pros: The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. The air-con worked well. En-suite was great. It was really quiet at night & the breakfast was adequate.

Pros: Clean, good shower
Cons: No english
Pros: Location was good, just a short walk to the zocalo and the malecon.
Cons: The room was smaller than most in this price range.
Pros: It was OK
Cons: We expected it to be nicer for the price.
Pros: Super friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: Too much stuff in the room.
Pros: The hotel is really characteristic, with a patio, nice furnitures, warm colors on the wall. The air conditioning (necessary!) is fully working without any problem. The room and the bathroom were large enough for me. The place is quite and silent and the road was empty so I park in front of the hotel without any problem. Reaching the center is a 5/10 minutes walk. The staff members have been very gentle and kind.
Cons: WIFI has NOT be good enough. I try to download a necessary file for me (250 megabyte) several times but never succeded. The WiFi was keeping flapping and my mobile devices (iphone and ipad) was keeping logging in and out of the WiFi. PC had been more stable but anyway the connection was slow. As the area is between rivers, the climate is subtropical and the surrounding areas are more or less swampland and marsh, the place is full of any kind of insectes. In front of the hotel I found a lot of cockroaches. Anyway the room was clean and no insects inside
Pros: Very clean room. Very hospitable staff on site. Felt immediately comfortable.
Pros: the whole experience
Pros: Hotel was quiet, peaceful and well run. Smaller town Mexico at its best. Reception was efficient and helpful, bedding was comfortable, good AC and coffee available in the morning. A short walk to the main plaza and the small malecón on the river. Several restaurants, mostly specializing in seafood which was quite economical and tasty. Tlacotalpan has a couple of small museums worth a visit, a municipal market, river boat tours and is missing most of the irritating things of the big cities.
Pros: The bed was very comfortable and the room really clean.
Cons: The parking lot was aweful.
Pros: Very clean, Best bed. Good location
Cons: All was good

Pros: Very nice location
Cons: Near the river and the center of the town
Pros: They offer restaurant, bar and parking ...... NOT true!!! You only get a big room .....
Cons: The location!!!! A beautiful street ....
Pros: Close to town.
Cons: It was just a room for the night. No services or facilities therefore poor value for money.
