Pros: Very nice and beautiful hotel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely everything was perfect
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a wonderfully luxurious hotel with spacious cabins on the shores of a peaceful lake. We were only here for one night and wished that we could have stayed longer. There is a private museum within the hotel with the most amazing collection of Mayan antiquities. At this point in our trip we had seen several of the Mayan sites in Belize and of course Tikal, but none of these sites have significant collections of pottery. All these pieces were of amazing quality. We also understand that the hotel has access to a Private Wild Life reserve in the middle of the lake which we wish we had known about. Sadly we did not have time to visit. The bed was very comfortable and spacious, our room had its own jacuzzi overlooking the lake in an area enclosed by mosquito netting. Excellent restaurant with a wide choice of food on the menu. Very convenient for Flores airport.
Cons: We could little to find fault with at this hotel. This is a high quality hotel, with higher prices than other places in the area but the experience was well worth the additional cost.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bungalows on the water are first class, as are the staff. Fantastic place to stay
9.5 Excellent
Pros: There is a lot of fine details everywhere. It’s a neat hotel. The staff is always at your service. The location is private and quiet. The food is good, And we really enjoy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Love the nature,staff,location,
Cons: Sorry to disappoint but I loved everything about this place, only one minor small detail. Get a larger lighted sign pointing towards location.

Pros: Quality, staff courtesy, snd cleanliness
Cons: Everything was fine

Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Incredible location. Peaceful and unique. Beautiful pool. The boat tour to the monkey island to meet Margarita and the museum is a must. The little zoo is well worth the walk in the heat! We took the kayaks out which was worth doing. A trip to Flores was enjoyable. The highlight was a trip to Tikal with Carlos - he was fabulous! What a day - don't miss this!
Cons: We were told "breakfast is included" - this meant one dish from a set menu so we had to order other things and pay extra. We had trouble with the water temperature of the jacuzzi which didn't get sorted quickly. We ordered a 'vegetarian salad' which was covered in tuna and egg - took three attempts to get it right! We wanted to use the bicycles but were told there was only one due to the others being fixed. They never fixed them so we couldn't use them - it wasn't the end of the world but would have been fun.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We felt very welcome as soon as we arrived. All staff were very attentive, and always greeted us on a first name basis. Food was great and catered well for me especially being gluten free. The views from our room was amazing. Room was very comfortable and clean. The complimentary monkey tour is a must. This hotel is probably the best we have been too and highly recommend. Very grateful for the high quality service.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful facility, beautiful location, friendly, welcoming staff, incredible accommodations, totally peaceful
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. Cleanness and your privacy!
Cons: I personally didn’t like the animals lizards in the room!
7.5 Good
Pros: The place and property itself it beautiful, relaxing and well kept. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are very clean and great mix of modern meets nature.
Cons: If you decide to drive into the property, be warned, the road leading into the property is not paved, full of large stones and gravel and on a downhill. In some spots there are huge crater like holes. This was not mentioned on the website. Our 4 door rental sustained damage on the undercarriage on the way to the hotel entrance and the hotel manager did not offer to pay for any damages imposed by the rental. He only offered to help us get back out when the time came. ALso, there are insects in the room. They find their way in. Also the food service by the pool and dining area is VERY slow. It takes an inordinate amount to place an order.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is amazing, very quiet and relaxing. The service was great: fast pick-up by boat, welcome drink on the dock, ... we enjoyed swimming in the lake and in the beautiful pool. Best beds and showers we ‘ve had in Guatemala!
Cons: /
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location, right by the lake, beautiful rooms with view, super friendly and service minded staff, lots of space, good food.
Cons: Hotel is only accessible by boat. They offer free check-in and out transport, and further only three free time slots during the day: 7:00, 13:00, 17:00. Any other moment you want to leave the hotel you have to pay 25$. I think that is too much. It would be better if they had free trips every hour or so.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a beautiful refuge and very family friendly. Staff was helpful and friendly at all times.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It's a remote location that requires a 20 min boat ride to get to Flores, which I liked because Flores can be loud/hectic. It was nice of the hotel to comp my extra boat rides, but otherwise, it'd be $25 to take the boat when it's outside of the shuttle operating hours. Facilities were clean, they offer golf cart rides up to your room, good AC, good blackout blinds.
Cons: Reception closes at 10pm but they didn't tell us. Then, I had no hot water after 10pm and it took an HOUR for someone to fix it (and even then, the hot water didn't come until the next morning). We had to find someone in the kitchen to help us. We asked for an extra comforter for the extra bed we had, but they brought us sheets TWICE. We asked for extra towels and they shorted us on towels instead. The service/communication is slow. If you don't have extra requests, everything else about the resort is good. If you have extra requests, though, be prepared for some frustration.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Service staff and massage set up were superior and EVERYONE was very friendly. Actually felt appreciated to have us there. The grounds are impeccable. Arrangements were made for a 4:00AM ferry back to Flores, breakfast to go.
Cons: Coffee maker in room would have been welcomed. Our car had issues on the dirt service road going to the highway. After raining we barely were able to get up the hill.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Peter and his wife Yolanda were amazing hosts and the hotel has great views of Flores across the street.
Cons: The bed was on the hard side.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful little hotel that has clearly been a labour of love for the owners, Peter & Yolanda, who built it themselves and were incredibly welcoming and helpful with information about tours, Flores and things to do in the surrounding area. The location is great, in a nice chilled village with cracking views of Flores and the lake, and just a 2-minute / 5Q boat ride across to Flores itself. Small pool was ideal for lounging or refreshing dip after a sweaty day of temple-hopping. Excellent home cooked meals available here too. Highly recommended!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The accomodation is on the opposite of Flores, only 5 minutes and 5 Quatzal with the lancha. We loved the terrace with pool overlooking Flores. A stunning view!! Also the food Peter and Jolanda made for us every morning and sometimes in the evening was a lot and very delicious. From here we went to Tikal and another cool trip is 15 min with the boat to Jorge Swing Rope, a fun 2 hours jumping from a high rope into the water. Also you walk 1/2-1 hour up the Hill to a viewpoint and a beach. Flores is a little town has a good vibe with some nice restaurants with roof terrace. St Elena is the town just before Flores and here is nothing to do. Except a doctor and a lab, unforunattely we needed it because of an ear infection (Thanks to the finca paraiso in Rio Dulce I believe). The lab Peter adviced very well, due to a heavy fever we went to the lab, only 200Q and 1/2 hour later, diagnosted blaster infection and no malaria. Thanks again Peter and Jolanda for taking care of us!
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a very enjoyable stay at Zapote Tree Inn. Peter and Yolanda were very hospitable. The room was very clean, bathroom was perfect, beds were comfortable. The grounds of the inn itself are beautiful, with fruit trees, a pool and a terrace with a wonderful view of Flores and the lake Peten Itza. Peter is very knowledgable about the Mayan Civilisation and provided me with hours of interesting conversation. He was also extremely helpful with my broken mobile phone. Do not hesistate to stay here, this was one of the top highlights of our trip!
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really loved the hosts, who did everything you could possibly think of to make us feel at home. They were really careing and came a few times to make a chat. We felt more than welcome and we didn't want to leave after staying with them for one nigt, but we had a flight to catch. I would definetly recommend staying here!
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was excellent. The staff were very attentative in a nice, discrete way. The hotelowners Peter and his wife cared a lot for your wellbeing-in the same, nicely discrete way. Most parts of the hotel is build up by Peters own hands, and all the good craftmanship give a very special atmosphere to this beautiful, peaceful place. You really feel at home. Not to mention the food, which is freshly made by the best commodities by the cook Ramon, who is a true master of delicately arranging it with a lot of sidedishes. We enjoyed all our wonderful meals at the balcony, overlooking the lake. We strongly recommend this wonderful place, and we will sure be back-hopefully within too long.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we arrived at the airport, our transport was sorted. We took a 3 minute taxi to the waterfront and we were greeted by Peter in his boat who took us across the lagoon to Zapote Tree Inn. From this point onwards we were treated like royalty. Peter and Yolanda organised our trip to Tikal and transport onto Mexico. They made us fantastic breakfast and dinner. The whole experience felt personal and special. The private room was great with a double and single bed as well as great air conditioning and a hot shower. The location is absolutely stunning with beautiful view across the lagoon and stunning sunsets. This was one of our favourite places on our travels and we wish we spent more than one night at Zapote Tree Inn to enjoy more of Flores (it’s more than just Tikal!)
Cons: No complaints, perfect experience
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The pool is perfect, you get a full view of Flores. Plus, a wonderful tree top view from hammocks above the the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My first thought when I got there was “how can I only be here one night?!?” I wanted to reroute my whole trip to stay at Zapote longer. The owners are the absolute kindest, friendliest people you could meet. I felt so welcomed and at home. They gave me rides into town, took me on a jungle walk, cooked me great food for a good price, and generally catered to my every need. The neighborhood dogs were very friendly as well, and even kindly escorted me to the property from the dock! The property itself is gorgeous; you can tell a lot of love and time has gone into it. It has a fantastic view of Flores, fantastic grounds, and is located in such a pleasant little village, very tranquil and worlds away from the tourist frenzy in Flores. Yet, it’s still easily accessible from Flores, a two-minute, one-dollar boat ride. Seriously just perfect. I could go on and on. The room itself was very cozy and clean, with great pillows and bed. Even had a reading lamp and outlets right next to the bedside table. Very well-thought out for guests’ comfort. Very quiet at night. Just perfect!!!! Thanks again guys, I hope to see you again. Suerte con todo!
Cons: Nada
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A five star service in a heaven spot. This hotel was the highlight of our trip. Peter and Yolanda were amazing hosts. They went well beyond what you would expect. I can’t count the number of little attentions and help we got from them. As a bonus, you have an amazing view of Flores. Hosts also organized our transportation to Tikkal and Poptun at the end of our trip. There are also numerous sights and trekking around that are very nice. The hotel is located in San Miguel. It is 5 minutes away from Flores using a lancha at 5Q per person. Kids loved the view, the pool and the lancha to get there. A must. You won’t regret.
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Gorgeous hotel across the water - well worth the 5 minute boat trip across the water. Erik the boatman was lovely and had no problem getting up at 2.30 to take us across to the mainland on the boat for a tour. Such a pretty building. Lovely to be able to swim from the hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: location is so good, just on the lake! transportaion-not a problem.food is great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The free boat service to and from the island was very convenient and the place provided excellent views of the island. The host was amicable, and the room was spacious and comfortable. Also loved the dock and swimming area and the hammocks!
Cons: Negligible amount of smell and noise from the kitchen came through the bathroom window. Wasn't at all an issue in the evenings when the kitchen was closed, and largely didn't matter since I was exploring the town all day.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was great and helped us. After they mixed up our meals they really wanted to make us feel better and helped us. The room was great, clean and big.
Cons: The place wasn't is Flores, it was on the island in front and you need to get a boat to get there. There is a boat from the hotel but it's free only during specific hours and they charge you for every other hour or place that isn't in front of the hotel.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff was amazing and very helpful! We didn’t realize that we had to pay in local currency so we didn’t have any cash. They let us pay the following day after going to the ATM and happily arranged our boat back and forth to Flores. Great food too!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Awesome stay! Clean and comfortabel rooms, beautiful dock and views on Flores, a lot of chill spots, very friendly staff, would definitely recommend!
7.0 Good
Pros: Very nice location with a private landing dock which is perfect for swimming and sunbathing. Staff is always willing to bring you across the lake (3 minutes) to the centre of Flores.
Cons: The trash can in the bathroom was extremely small and wasn't emptied during our 3-night stay which is not nice considering that you're not allowed to flush toilet paper in Guatemala.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is super clean and comfortable, very nice areas at the front of the lake, amazing food and specially amazing people always willing to help you and always with a smile on their face. Super highly recommended!!

Cons: A couple of bottles of complementary water would have been nice
7.0 Good
Pros: Location, customer service
Cons: In restaurant the food portions are really small, they try to make it seam as a Gourmet type of restaurant but it really isn’t. In the room, there is not much to offer, no tv, no coffee maker, hair dryer, other than that the rooms are confortable.

Cons: Everything was good

Pros: The views
Cons: I would’ve liked if the hotel had its own transportation and it could use some improvement on the food quality since the price is pretty high. But overall the rooms were clean and the service was good.

Pros: We stayed one night post a stay in the jungle for Tikal, in order to catch an early flight. Pretty building with very nice rooftop bar to watch sunset and the swallows returning to Flores for the night. Free transfer to the airport available at 2 set times in the day, the morning transfer worked well for our flight time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel with spectacular views of the lake and sunset from the wonderful rooftop bar
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Modern, beautiful room, very clean, nice view on the lake, friendly staff Very good food! There were constructions going on outside our window which reduced the charm of our premium room. The staff however gave us a nice breakfast as compensation .
Cons: Would have been nice to know about the constructions beforehand when we still could decide which room we'd like to book.
4.3 Okay
Cons: Horrible customer service, the refried beans tasted funny. I believe they didn’t work anymore
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Had a wonderful time with the family!
Cons: There is a place real loud close to the hotel, but only on the weekends and they turned the music down around 10:30sh-
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wow, what a perfect place!! Absolutely everything was above expectation, from staff, to location, to comfort. It's a little more pricey in comparison to other accommodation around Flores but it's so worth it for the comfort here. Our double room with lake view was very big, perfectly clean and the staff were very welcoming. WiFi was strong! Pool on the rooftop is amazing!!
Cons: There's nothing to comment on!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super cute hotel with a great rooftop bar (awesome drinks) and pool. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. We did the sunrise tour to Tikal, and they had coffee waiting for us to go at 3 am. It was just one of the added bonuses of staying here.

7.0 Good
Pros: Location is good, in the heart of Flores. Breakfast is excellent, choice of 3 - pancakes with fruit, traditional or continental. Nice view of the lake with a pool. Staff are decently friendly. You are able to book shuttles and excursions (eg to Tikal, Belize etc). Rooms are air conditioned, beds are comfortable and towels are provided with a 20 quetzales deposit.
Cons: Unfortunately there were building works, no sun loungers as advertised. You have to ask for the towel. There are not many chill areas in the hotel/hostel.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great staff. Provided a (basic) packed lunch for early buses and tours. Pool (required due to heat & humidity +++). Very clean. Good wifi.
Cons: No hot water when we showered both days, though other guests reported there was some at other times. Area near pool currently undergoing renovations.
7.1 Good
Pros: Beautiful design, great location and breakfast, nice staff.
Cons: Very lowd music until 12.30am from the jext door club. Dirty bathroom in the dorm. Jacuzzi is not hot at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed were comfy and very tall in the dorm. Clean. Good location. Amazing staff. I did my check out in the morning because I had an all day activity; they keep my bags and at the end of the day I could still use their installations for a shower. Amazing breakfast too.
Cons: Nothing!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a perfect place to sleep in a dorm and still have amazing location with great restaurant and pool and the sunset right in front of the hotel over the lake. Perfect breakfast at the restaurant in the morning included. Good wifi. Air shuttle. Tours to Tikal can be booked. You can even swim in the lake. Great place to stay when in Flores for Tikal coming from airport and for seeing the city.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beds are large for singles. The pool and 3 hours of happy hour are amazing. The staff are lovely. The breakfast included was super. The food in the Hoyle itsself is great. It's a perfect location on the lakefront near the other bars and restaurants. There is also a dock right outside that you can jump off into the lake.
Cons: The hotel is Hotel Peten and the hostel is Hotel Peten Express so the hotel rooms didn't come up when we searched for it. They're actually both in the same building using the same facilities so you get an amazing deal by staying in the hostel. We stayed in a 6 bed dorm though and it was very noisy as lots of guest leave at 3 for Tikal so it wasn't a good night's sleep. No window in dorm room.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: comfy wide beds, AC at a good setting, helpful staff
Cons: Its the most expensive dorm I've stayed in, esp when adding 22% taxes
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super Clean. 24hours air conditioning. The staffs are nice and helpful for everything. Good breakfast with amazing view. They prepared for small breakfast box for early tour. That was awesome! The location is super good. Very close to the bus station and just in front of the river. It has nice swimming pool. Just awesome place! Recommendable!
Cons: Nothing. Everything was awesome.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The woman at the front desk was always extremely helpful and kind to me! The hotel is in a good location and has it's own pool and restaurant with a great pineapple liquado. They give you little shampoo packets and soap with your towel!
Cons: - They didn't have a lot of pamphlets for things to do around Flores, so I went to Los Amigos hostels to get good tour prices and discover more things to do. The tours provided by Hotel Peten were quite expensive. - Wish they had a female and a male dormitory, but none of the hostels on Flores seem to have this. - Hotel is right next to some clubs, and you can hear the bass in the rooms until very late. It isn't very loud, but you can definitely hear it.
7.5 Good
Pros: Comfy beds. Clean.
Cons: You have to ask reception every time you want to adjust your AC

Featured amenities include express check-in, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. A shuttle from the hotel to the airport is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooftop view is just amazing. Location can't get any better than this. The staff and the breakfast available at any time are perfect for early adventures.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We stayed twice. The first time for a longer time and had a fabulous room overlooking the lake with a balcony... that room was absolutely superb. The second time the room was still good and had a small balcony overlooking the street. Still very clean but considerably smaller. This hotel does not do breakfast but lots of good places around at good value. We found the restaurant closest as you go right facing the water front did some really nice breakfast and food in general. Because it does not do breakfast, the hotel concentrates on doing the sleep aspect very well. You can get good (and instant) coffee in the morning in the reception area for free.
Cons: Can't complain at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: 24hrs reception, the rooms and the view!!
Cons: No breakfast available at the hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Charming place on the water. Great 3rd floor porch.
Cons: Water cooler on the 3rd floor
10.0 Excellent
Pros: There seem to be quite a few party hostels and expensive hotels in Flores, and we were happy to settle into Casazul as a middle ground. It was really nice and clean, the staff were friendly, we had a balcony and sunset view, and it was so quiet on this side of the island!
Cons: Wi-Fi didn’t work great, but we had Wi-Fi for the first time in a while so can’t complain!
2.5 Mediocre
Cons: The most awful staff members ever- very rude, non-assisting, inpolite in any way. This was definitely the worst experience in Guatemala. Do not recommend this place at all; they simply do not earn the money with their lack of hospitality.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location of this hotel is superb. Best view of Lake Itza in this beautiful little town. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the terrace was the perfect spot for a refreshing drink while watching the sunset. Excellent restaurants right next door.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Situated in perfect location. Clean, quiet and spacious enough rooms with balcony and great view to the lake. 3 minutes walk to shops, restaurants and local "beach", where swimming after hot day is very refreshing. Very good place to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location. Not too noisy. Kind, patient (with my minimal Spanish), dedicated staff. The air conditioning worked wonderfully, which was crucial given the 100+ (fahrenheit) midday heat.
Cons: The coffee in the lobby was instant Nescafe. Mejór que nada, supongo.

Pros: Hotel was nice, smaller than I thought but pretty solid location. Great food downstairs at the restaurant, great for dinner overlooking the lake after we traveled to Tikal. There was a friendly neighborhood cat that came up to us asking for food too! Room was ok, the bed was a little stiffer than we'd like but ok after a long day of walking, nice staff when we checked in.

Pros: We had a pleasant, comfortable stay at Casa Amelia. In a very convenient location in charming Flores. Across the street from the waterfront where we saw folks swimming and was easy to catch a launcha for a boat ride around the lake.
Cons: Unfortunately the restaurant was closed during our stay while the hotel was undergoing some restaurant repairs. We had heard the breakfast there was really good....
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff, especially reception was extremely helpful.
Cons: The shower was a bit dated. There were barely any electrical outlets.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The lake view was beautiful
Cons: No water supply in the morning.

Pros: Great location at the lake and so close to Flores bus station( just across the bridge). Lovely views towards the lake and city of Flores, easy to get into town.

7.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful building and facilities Friendly staff
Cons: Would not let us come back to the hotel to wait by the pool after our excursion (post check out) before getting on the bus. They held our bags in a room but the room was never locked.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The one free breakfast that was provided and the nice look of the hotel and it’s pool.
Cons: Seemed kind of empty and not too big but also no beach on the lake.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable rooms, nice pool area and beautiful view over the lake and across to Flores.
Cons: Decor is a bit tacky. Breakfast is good but nothing special.
7.0 Good
Pros: The breakfast was good. AC was cool. The room was clean. Nice view over the lake.
Cons: Total rate per Booking was quoted in USD which the hotel unfairly converted to Quetzel @ 7.9GQ per usd even though i’ve Showed him the forex rate should be 7.6. Then when I asked to process the charge in USD on my credit card, the receptionist stated there would be an additional 5% service charge on top of the Booking rate.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel overlooking the lake. Location is great. Flores is an awesome little town and it is easy to walk or hop in a tuktuk to go explore. The hotel & rooms are clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was great.

Cons: Breakfast has room for improvement
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel had a pretty little swimming pool that was perfect for having a cool off and a beer in after trips out during the day.
Cons: The hotel is set slightly away from Flores island (a 20 min walk) but it’s easy to get a cheap tuk tuk from outside the property (5q per person). For us the space and swimming pool was definitely worth being a bit further away from the island.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly service and advice on better restaurants in Flores
Cons: The neighborhood is not especially nice and we were advised not to walk around at night
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything was ok, the cleeliness was perfect. Quiet place.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: THEY ARE PET FRIENDLY!!! Facility is beautiful! Very clean, staff is great. It has three different pools for different age groups. The beds are amazing!!! Huge bathrooms. They give coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. They were very kind to change a few things on the menu to my fathers dietary needs. They have hammocks around the pools with tables and chairs as well. Very close to isla de Flores about 15-20 min away, about 40 mom from El lago peten Itzá, and about an 1 hour from Tikal. The facility is mostly quiet except the noise from the main road but very quiet.
Cons: When I first got there I had to pay more 22% more, wasn’t expecting that. The food was okay...too salty(we only had breakfast there). I felt like the lunch n dinner menus were too expensive. The lights did go out one day twice. First time for about 30 min then right after for another 20 min (owner didn’t apologize for anything). Their WiFi sucks, wasn’t working most of the time. It went out for about a day and a half.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Room was very comfortable and clean. The kids loved the pool!
Cons: A 15 min drive from Flores but worth it to have a nice quiet and relaxing stay.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Big room with a fantastic bed, nice territory and tasty breakfast
Cons: The water in the swimming pool was dirty, so we could not swim
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The property was clean and very well decorated. Very impressive in every way. It’s a few miles away from the noise of San Banito and Isle de Flores which is nice and makes for a pleasant stay. We would defiantly come back and stay here.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room quality room very clean accessories air conditionning garden and pool area restaurant nice team globally
Cons: hotel team does not speack english even the one at reception which should be at least a minimum
7.5 Good
Pros: The room is very nice and clean. Very comfortable beds and lining, clean rooms. We liked the breakfast, the only disadvantage is that it takes times for them to set it. They open at 7, but it takes about additional 20 mins until they take the order or prepare the buffet. It’s limiting when you have some things planned at 8 am.
Cons: People at the reception are nice, but they won’t be able to help you with organizing trip to Tikal, neither they have any recommendations of who you can reach out to. If you decide to stay in this hotel, I would recommend having a car. Otherwise it could feel that the service is not very helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the peaceful countryside location away from the nearby towns. HSV was very reasonably priced for such a beautiful environment. Even though it is only a year old, the beautiful hotel was well-built to look and feel like an authentic Spanish style country hacienda. The restaurant food was very good as well. The owners and staff are very friendly and accommodating...and you can keep your room air-conditioned all night long....big bonus! Just an interesting aside...our visit was intended for me and my young adult son too search for his original birth family, from whom he was separated at age 7. The owner, Doña Ingrid, turned out to be the key we needed to locate them. Her connections with nearby local officials led us to "people who knew people"...and we located this family about an hour from the hotel. Ingrid and her husband even drove us to the remote village. Without her involvement, we never would have found the birth family...Muchas Gracias, Ingrid!!!!
Cons: For visitors to Tikal, it is not as convenient as some alternate locations, but it was so much nicer than most hotels in the immediate area of Flores. The price is very reasonable for the style of hotel as well. For people who want to explore more of El Peten than just Tikal, it is a great location with convenient road access.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were the only foreigners
Cons: Great tub, lousy shower
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Is an amazing place to relax and enjoy!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The place is overall beautiful, the architecture is amazing. Staff was very nice.
Cons: We had a problem with the AC in our room.

Pros: The hotel was very private and beautiful. The staff was attentive and amazing. This hotel is a must stay if you're planning a vacation to Isla de Flores.

Pros: Lovely accommodation Extremely helpful staff for tours etc.
Cons: Leaving the hotel
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Room was clean and comfy and the staff very friendly and accommodating
Cons: Bathroom was quite small making it hard to move around. Air conditioner was working but didn’t keep the room cool making it hard to sleep.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely huge room. Well equipped with everything. Air conditioning in the main room as well as the bedroom. Clean bathroom. Great roof terrace. Really excellent location, very close to the lake where you can hire boats.
Cons: The staff weren’t that friendly, I didn’t get a very good welcome. It wasn’t until I checked later that I saw breakfast was supposed to be included in my room rate which I didn’t get. Expensive compared to other places in Flores.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location in the heart of Flores, staff very helpful and attentive, large spacious suite, decent internet, clothes washer and drier available.
Cons: The air conditioning in the bedroom failed the second night, the water in the two sinks barely ran at all. The listing should make even more clear that there is NO guaranteed parking near the hotel, perhaps you can find an on street spot, perhaps not.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Easy walk to everywhere. Near stores and restaurants. Very close to the lake. Roof top terrace.
Cons: Living room very dark. Main windows faced out to the front entrance - poor privacy.
7.0 Good
Pros: The room was more of an apartment, spacious (except for the bathroom that is a bit smaller) and with everything you would need for a longer stay. It’s quite and the bed is comfortable and clean.
Cons: Somehow it felt a bit pricy when compared to other places to stay in Guatemala.
5.5 Okay
Pros: It is a big room with washing machine and kitchen. Staff was very friendly too.
Cons: The room need a lot of maintenance. It doesn’t feel comfortable or clean because of its condition. There were cockroaches, which made it worse.
5.8 Okay
Pros: nice Air condition and good location that closer to have meal with restaurants around the hotel.
Cons: small bathroom and shower. I have to ask for water and toilet paper. that's should be already in the room before we check in.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Aircon is a must, friendly staff and cleaners, pool great for cooling off, nice food at the restaurant, excellent views from the pool and balcony
Cons: Would have liked the hotel to provide guests with drinkable water; rooms are small and a bit cramped but functional
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Continental breakfast was delicious. HOT TUB was relaxing, and the pool was nice too. We had a view of the lake from our window and it was beautiful. The ladies at the front desk and the wait staff were so friendly. We got there early before our check-in time, but they let us keep our luggage there while we explored the streets for a while. When I first arrived in the room it was very hot and the a/c wasn't working but I called the front desk and they came up to check immediately and then had it running within 10 minutes.
Cons: We found some little bugs crawling all over the walls of the bathroom and by the a/c unit although they didn't disturb our things and they weren't near our beds. It seems like there are bugs in most places in Guatemala anyway. It was a little difficult to carry our luggage up the stairs. But that's our fault for bringing that much stuff toward the end of our trip! On the way up, a man on staff helped us carry a bag up.
7.1 Good
Pros: Excelente ubicación, desayunos deliciosos e incluidos, cantidad de opciones de restaurantes alrededor, piscina pequeña pero mis hijos la super disfrutaron.
Cons: Sin parqueo!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location is realy nice, the lake on one side,"downtown "at the other side Staff is very friendly, we had to leave really early and they arranged breakfast boxes for us
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and great deal! The staff was friendly and accommodating. Food was delicious and so were the drinks. The pool was good and the views at the restaurant were amazing. Super clean and cozy!
Cons: My room was on the street side so it was a bit loud but not unbearable
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location and the swimming pool were great
Cons: The rooms were a little dated
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice Location at the lake with pool and view. Good simple breakfast and coffee
Cons: Ventilator was dripping before we arrived so half of the room was under water. Beds are quite soft
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location, good service, nice complimentary full service breakfast.
Cons: The beds were too hard.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: They let us keep our bottled water in their fridge. Friendly and helpful staff. They do their best to accommodate your requests. It was great that it had air conditioning! Lovely lake view from the restaurant. Small but nice pool.
Cons: A water bottle filling station or a fridge in the room to keep your water cool would have been ideal.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was in a very prime location on Isla de Flores with eateries all around! The breakfast that was included was very tasty, but simple. You could tell the staff took everything seriously, the entire facility was spotless and everyone was as helpful as possible! I also want to mention that the aircon was state of the art, I haven't even seen such fancy units in the states.
Cons: While clean and in a prime location, the rooms were quite small and had somewhat of strange smell. While the WiFi was consistent, we found it a little weak...but that's ok, it's nice to get away from electronics on occasion. :)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was friendly and helpful and there was a decent menu for lunch and dinner. Also, the breakfast was good.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was lovely, with beautiful views of the lake. The pool was clean and a great luxury after hot days visiting Tikal and Yaxha. It was easy to walk everywhere in Flores, including the entrance to the island where some tours leave from.
Cons: The hotel is on a narrow road where larger buses are not allowed to drive. This means walking or taking a tuk tuk to tour meeting points. The room was a decent size for one traveler - the same room would not have worked well for two people staying for a few days. It felt noisy in the evenings, with all rooms facing the pool and outdoor eating area.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner Maurizio & all his staff were extremely kind and helpful, and went above and beyond to help when we locked ourselves out of our hire car late at night. The setting is also beautiful- we wish we had had more time to just relax by the lakeside in the hammocks & swim in the pool.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff is super friendly and helpful. If you have any problems, just email them and you will have a fast response. The hotel is a family run operation, so everybody really cares about your experience. The location is quiet and peaceful with beautiful lake views. Kayaks are available for free borrowing, perfect for a sunrise ride on the lake. A great place for a family with kids.
Cons: The Internet is spotty at best. Don't expect a signal in your room. The location is far from Flores, a $20-30 for a taxi ride each way. The menu is limited and even more so if you are a vegetarian. There are no touristy restaurants nearby.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great views and friendly staff
Cons: The hot water in the shower was intermittently working
5.0 Okay
Pros: The property is still to develop
Cons: The property is still to develop

Pros: Quiet location with beautiful view of Flores, quick easy boat ride to Flores
Cons: N/a
7.5 Good
Pros: Clean room, nice view from the balcony
Cons: I do not recommend this hostel! Is on the diffrent island, so you have to pay for water transport each time. In the hotel next to this one guests have it included in the price and a free private boat. I don't recommend buying trips in this hostel! The reception boy made chaos during my trip to Tikal. He also told me a different room rate in the morning, so when I wanted to pay after returning from Tikal, it turned out that I didn't have enough cash (no card payment option). He was very unfriendly and sent me to another part of the city (which was far) at night to atm. If the hotel Casa de Grethel didn't help me, I would have to cancel my morning trip to Belize. I travel a lot and have never met such an arrogant and chaotic receptionist!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous little comfortable, clean family-run hotel
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I loved the view from the balcony, along with the location and the owner's willingness to take us across to the island at any time.
Cons: We ran out of toilet paper and sometimes the coffee was not available.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The help of Andrew, our host, was very very good; ,my sister and I (enjoyed his answers, his stories (hope and fears) and the help he offered when we did not get our ride back from Tikal. We even received our money back from the extra money we payed a shuttle driver. He arranged Tikal for us, arranged the sunrise tour with quide to Temple 4 (magnificent/ aanrader) and when we could not walk everything the guide arranged an Uber. off course we had to pay but we got so much back in return. The staff (family of Andrew) were all very very nice. We had food talks and conversations with them, We did not have breakfast or dinner, so we good choose and it was made by the house cook (aunt of Andrew) , the meals were very good. Our washes was done by the family, cause we had little time and they made sure we had in return the night before we left. The water in lake Peten was lovely to swim in and the boat rides to the shore a great pleasure. We hope Andrew will visit Holland someday and we hope he likes to stay in contact with us. he has our email. Please Andrew, hope you and your family read the message above. Thank you all, form both of us for everything. Regine and Jantje Tamminga, Holland
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Flores is a noisy place, but this host is across the watet from Flores abd Santa Elena. One must take water tacxi to it, aekward but romantic. In any case, it is quiet at night and very clean.
Cons: No hot water.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Spacious
Cons: Cold shower, kitchen never open
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lake View was amazing!! that was really marvelous!! I had to take a boat to this hostel but you should do that to see this scene. the boat was until around 22pm and only 5Q so thats not a matter.
Cons: the shower is easy to be broken.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The view is gorgeous! The staff was nice and really tried to give you a comfortable stay! We booked the shuttle to Tikal and later on to Mexico and both worked out fine with the same price as other places on the island. We had breakfast there once which was really yummy. In my opinion way better than staying in a super expensive hotel on the island.
Cons: We stayed there for four nights and not once did the room get cleaned. We had a bathroom next door which was fine but only one trash can for both rooms and no one cleaned the bathroom as well - that definitely needs improvement. Our room had a fan - which was broken when we arrived but luckily my boyfriend fixed it real quick. The shower does have hot water but when my boyfriend turned it on the first time (there is a little heater on top of the shower head) he got an electric shock. You don't need hot water anyway but it would be good to warn your guest about that!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff are good star. I needed help with sorting a few things out and they couldn’t be kinder or more helpful. The views from the property are so special. The value for money is brilliant and if back I will stay here again.

Pros: We loved all of the staff as they were helpful and very accommodating. The room was very clean, as were the grounds. Very convenient!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is clean, well presented and has lovely views of the lake. There’s not too much directly around it but it’s about a 5min walk into Flores island. We took a helicopter tour from El Mirador and the helipad is literally outside the hotel so is was the perfect location
Cons: The staff were professional but weren’t as friendly as other places we stayed. Not really a crisism just an observation
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I choose the hotel due to the close location to Flores Airport as I had an early flight out. My room was on the water side overlooking the lake and Flores Island ..... fantastic. More than I expected. Nice clean room, good mattress and very friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant was very good and they found me Negra Model beer. Nice friendly atmosphere ... no stress. Very good food.
Cons: It would have been nice to have wi-fi in room but it was perfect in lobby and restaurant.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is very caring and goes out of the way to keep everything comfortable. The view from the room is spectacular, all the wild life you can see from the balcony is amazing.
Cons: The hotel could use some maintenance, even though it’s a beautiful place there are some areas that need some work...
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location on the lake
Cons: The desk really confused my reservation and payment which is still not resolved
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pontoon restaurant with lakeside views across to Flores. Right next to the supermarket. Easy to walk across the bridge to Flores in 5 to 10 minutes. No hassle of being over touristed in Flores. Feels more local here in St Elena. 5 mins from airport. Ecofiltro water so don’t have to buy plastic bottles. Great food in the restaurant. Incredible bird life in the lovely garden. AC in the rooms. Wifi in reception but my tip is to buy a Guatemala SIM (called a chip here) from Tigo who have excellent coverage round here.
Cons: Restaurant dinner price point was slightly high but the breakfast was value for money. I ticked the box for shuttle from the airport but there was no communication about this and when I called that morning from Guatemala City to confirm they said the couldn’t oblige. As it turned out there are numerous taxis waiting for the flights at 20Q. I suspect shuttle is complementary but hey we’re supporting the local tourist economy here.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice location, clean, good atention! Great place!
Cons: Restaurant may be little expensive.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The swimming pool area was a nice place to chill out, and we were able to use it upon check-out until our bus time. Hammocks available to use on the balcony. Inner patio feels very safe and cozy. Close to a big supermarket.
Cons: We had to essentially break in to the hotel to enter as they seem to completely lock the gates with nobody paying any attention. We arrived at late evening so this was not pleasant as it's situated in a very quiet area, and we had to reach into the gate to unlock it from the other side. The wi-fi didn't work in almost every area of the hotel, (not ideal for travellers!). We had to specifically ask for a hair dryer at the reception. They did not have iron. It's not in the most pleasant location, and it should be cheaper based on this especially.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect hotel with pool for family with small kids. Wonderful patio for afternoon chill. Walking distance to the island, sometimes vetter to take a tuk-tuk for roughly 15 Q.
Cons: Breakfast not very attractive for the price.
6.8 Good
Pros: Beds were very comfortable. The pool area is pleasant and pool is a decent size.
Cons: A bit too pricey for what they offer. No wifi signal in the room. Had to sit in the reception area to get any signal at all. Rooms are a bit too small.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It was great!
Cons: Parking was outside hotel. Not protected.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It’s very pretty and clean, I really didn’t want to leave. It has a nice area with hammocks to chill. We arrived very early in the morning and could rest there comfortably until our check in time.
Cons: The WiFi is awful in the rooms upstairs, it does not work at all, you have to go down very close to the reception area to use it. There were not many restaurant options around and I found the food prices at the hotel to be expensive. Granted I was travelling on a budget. I wasn’t allowed to read in the restaurant area in the evening because they were supposedly closing, yet they remained opened for at least another hour...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were extremely accommodating and helpful. Food was great also.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This is really nice place to stay. It has a great swimming pool.People at reception are really kind and helpful. unfortunately we stayed there only 1 night, but I would recommend this hotel for long stay.

Pros: Really powerful showers. Nice and clean pool. Comfortable beds. Convenient store and ATM located 2 minutes away by walking. A short walk (10 mins) to Flores island.
Cons: Struggled a bit when communicating with the reception as they did not speak English.
