10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place surrounded by jungle and close to park entrance. Big comfortable rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Being only 200m from the park entrance this is the best accommodation to start exploring the Parque. The super friendly staff makes you feel at home right away. The restaurant they run serves great meals and breakfast is very good too. Still the undoubted star is their coffee :) The rooms are very clean, comfortable and in very good shape. They have an own parking space where you can leave the car, too.
Cons: Nothing at all!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I never met in my life such helpful hotel owner!!! Cesar and his staff were always ready to make us feeling at home! One staff member even was waiting for us at the parking lot with lanters to guide us safe back to our rooms. Wonderful environment.
Cons: nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An outstanding base from which to visit the park and walk in the countryside.Everything from the huge bed , the food to the extra kind staff was perfect. We are a couple of wrinklies from UK with no Spanish,no problem !

Pros: Breakfast is very good, the stuff varies according to your wishes. You learn a lot about coffee if you like.
Cons: Nothing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent, very close to the park, peaceful environment. The owner greeted us the first morning we stayed there, Jefferson was very friendly, and attentive.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Due to a fault with their booking system we weren't able to have a room on the first night we had reserved. However the manager and staff couldn't have been more helpful in finding alternative accommodation and gave us a room upgrade and a free dinner on the second night. Thanks Jefferson for your friendly service! The property is out of town but peaceful and quiet with a lovely garden.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a great hotel from which to base yourself for a trip to the archaeological park of San Agustin. The rooms in the hotel are simple, well-appointed and incredibly spacious and comfortable. The rooms and grounds of the hotel are couched in a pristine forest environment, alive with bird calls and exotic vegetation. The staff and attention provided is second to none, and the location of the hotel adjacent the park entrance is excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved my stay at Huaka-yo. Perfect spot to explore the archilogical park, spacious rooms, peaceful surroundings, tasty diner and breakfast and above all, extremely friendly and helpful staff.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff is very friendly and helpfull. Rooms are clean. Close to the archeological park and a good start for trips around. It’s quiet and relaxed. Restaurant is okay.
Cons: Actually, it was all very okay. But if I have to mention one thing... it’s the distance (and the stairs) between the rooms amd restaurant.

Pros: Beautiful setting, lovely room, amazing flowers and plants all around to enjoy and great outdoor seating. The staff were so kind and so helpful!!
Cons: Nothing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Big rooms big exellent beds, perfect shower. Fine kitchen. Comphy living, awesome garden. perfect place to stay another night and relax and rest. All just perfect. They organise bus pickup by departure and also daytrip horseriding.
Cons: It is a little uphill. But once you get there, its all forgotten, really worth it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful gardens with areas to relax or socialize. Out of town so a walk or taxi (for uphill return). Makes for a very peaceful environment and birds love the established gardens. Friendly and helpful staff. I would love to return!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Casa Nelly is a wonderful place!! It is just perfect to relax and meet other travelers, and it is ideally located to explore the San Agustin area. The rooms are in different buildings all around the central garden, which is so beautiful and peaceful. You can do like the house cats and just be lazy and hang around and dream away in one of the hammocks, or play with one of the two lovely dogs, or you can engage in one of the many activities. I would definitively recommend the horse riding trip that Harry (the host) arranged for us: a 4 hr exploration on horse of the immediate surroundings, but also with stops at various places to watch statues outside of the park, and the incredibly nice views of the Rio Magdalena valley. If you want to visit the archeological park itself, that is just a 45' stroll away up- and downhill via a non-paved countryside road where you can look at farms and make a stop at one of the bar-restaurants that try to make a living by offering the passing-by tourist refreshments, a meal or souvenir. The village of San Agustin is a 15' walk in the other direction, it goes downhill and to get back and avoid the steep climb, a motto-taxi from the village costs will cost you 3000 pesos (1 USD)... Rooms are nicely decorated with eco-friendly materials, showers are hot, and at night it is all peace and quiet, you will sleep as a rose. Breakfast is the best I got on my Colombia-trip so fare: yoghurt, cereals, fresh fruit, eggs, toast,.... I can't think of a better place in San Agustin then Casa Nelly.
Cons: Nothing really. The wifi is sometimes slow, but that seems to be the case all over Colombia...
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Casa de Nelly is set in a beautiful garden area with lots of birds and nature around. It is 1.5km out of town which made it so quiet and peaceful. You could easily walk to the ruins and town in 20-30 mins or get a taxi for 6000. The kitchen was well equipped and the hostel had lovely inside and outside areas to sit in. It sold cheap beer and the guy at reception spoke good english and was very helpful. Our private room with bathroom was a lovely little cabin in the garden and was very clean.
Cons: There was no way of lighting the gas so bring matches!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hostel 15 minute walk from the town. Great facilities friendly helpful staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hari really made the place. He was very welcoming and informative. The garden was lovely and the atmosphere was chilled and friendly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very tranquil and serene place with many beautiful plants:) Great after the city, would recommend Tomate veggie restaurant in town!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The kindness of the owner and the staff, the garden and chilling space! Also the breakfast was great!
Cons: The location is a little bit out of the centre but it is a 10 minute walk, and most tours or other transportation will pick you up at the front door.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful host. One of the few english speaking staff. Very nice garden and cabins. Gracias

Pros: The location is great to disconnect from the world. Facilities are great and rooms hace special decoration. I love the shower and of course the hamaca. The social área it is great to have some cocteles. Food is good.
Cons: The shower went hot and cold so many times.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff, like Franci in reception, were extremely friendly. Breakfast chef, Lorena, cooked perfectly to our preferences. The views from the hotel are lovely. The drinks at happy hour were awesome. The hotel grounds and gardens are beautiful. And the hotel is a few minutes drive from every attraction in and around San Agustin.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Installations, facilities. Architectural design integrated with the environment.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good beds, liked the box style, the private lamp, the curtain. Very clean. Very beautiful hostel. Laundry service. Great breakfast (not included) with very nice staff, but over my budget.
Cons: No separation between the bathroom and the dorm, can be a little noisy for people already sleeping. Same problem with the kitchen that is very open on the main area. You could hear people in the room next door that were singing in the shower at 6am but I think this was just bad luck !
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful surroundings, lots of activities to do such as ping pong/tejo/yoga, awesome ho(s)tel, nice staff, great breakfast
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Awesome view of the canyon. Very peaceful. Excellent food. Well laid out airy light room.
Cons: No gin in the bar!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Views from the hostel are magnificent. Staff are helpful. If you don’t want to join the jeep tour operated for site visiting. There are some free sites close by the hostel which you can walk to. Also a great place to chill, if you prefer (like me) to stay in and enjoy the hostel itself, lots of games provided, common room for parties and movies, I particularly love the gigantic Jenga
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the location, it is absolutely stunning and easy to get to other places. I love that the social area is far from the rooms, so one can get proper rest while others are socializing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was the sweetest hostel I've been to in the whole world!!! I decided to stay five days instead of 2 days like I originally planned. All the staff was super nice and super helpful. The view was the best of any hostel I've ever been to. There is a creek running through the hostile grounds that makes you feel like it is out in nature, which it is! There is a camp fire circle where we had fires every night. An awesome, and comfortable, stone sofa is right next to the fire area(more comfortable than it sounds). Beds are Comfortable, breakfast is really good, although it isn't free. It was really easy to keep staying there as it only cost $7 per night. Best value for a hostel ever. It's like a resort. Even though I didn't leave for 5 days, they still made my bed every day
Cons: Umm...food was expensive.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The view is amazing
Cons: They should be ashamed for charging this kind of money and not even having hot water! I had a cold so I decided to stay at a fancier place, and ended not resting. The room temperature is like 15°C at night, and the water was freezing cold. I warned the staff, they said they fixed it, but it remained the same. Also, when ordering dinner, the person taking my order decided to take someone else's order at the same time, basically leaving me there hanging. It's just disorganized

Cons: N/A
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing experience! Social vibes , hostel is well equipped for all backpackers needs. Staff is very helpful and nice. Feels as homely as possible (: The views from the terrace is super, can see great sunsets and very hot water in showers You can also book tours in very good prices compared to what other agencies offers with great guides
Cons: All good
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The social areas are really good. Social but not a party hostal. Fantastic terrace with great view. Excellent well stocked kitchen. Good comfy beds. A very good smoking policy which means non smokers are respected. Excellent hot showers. Excellent location. Staff very nice and helpful.
Cons: There wasn't anything that I didn't like about the hostal, it was fine and it's also good value for money. It's not a perfect hostal but then you're not paying top dollar. So the bathrooms are not super clean. The kitchen is a little small so if lots of people want to cook it's a bit short of space. It would be good if the hostal could put information up of local events as well as tours. While we were in town there was something going on every evening in the town, crazy horse night, a folkloric thing and the last night we were there yet again something was happening. I wish all hostals would stop guests playing films / terrible music from people's phones on load speaker. They have rules about noise at nighttime for everyone's comfort so why not this?
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice rooftop. Very clean. Helpful staff.
Cons: Unfortunately only one option offered for breakfast and not a very traditional one.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great hostel, and facilities. Really nice to lay in the hammocks in the afternoon and relax. They sell cheap beers at the bar but its definitely not a party hostel. Offer activities of evenings and book tours for the region
Cons: Only fault is We had a room outside of the hostel on the street front, it was incredibly noisey almost 24-7. Roosters man, roosters roostering non stop also. As long as your not in that room you’ll an awesome stay
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Close location to town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hostel to stay at while in San Augstine! Highly recommended. All the staff and guests are super nice & friendly and the vibe is great. Kitchen is well equipped and does sometimes get a bit crowded but it was mentioned that if there main kitchen was too busy you could use the second smaller kitchen downstairs! Everything is very well thought out - from the information books in 3 languages to the great terrace to the glow in the dark light switches in the rooms. The 4th floor terrace is a good place to hangout and the view is great! We really enjoyed our stay here! Thank you !
Cons: There are many bathrooms / showers and I never had to wait for eithee but to make things perfect another toilet on the 2nd, 3rd or 4th floor would be very helpful to those staying on the 3rd floor (having to go to the down 2 floors in the middle of the night to the bathroom was the only downfall)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great space. Best hot water supply in Colombia. Staff v helpful. Everything you need at a great price.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location, decoration, the hostal is beautiful. The bathrooms are really great, and staff is nice.
Cons: Bed not comfortable, a bit noisy at night because of the guests and lack of soindproofing. Not all rooms seem to be as less soundproof as mine, so you might have a better experience than me!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The women who work at the hostel are all very fun and kind. The owners care a lot about the experience of their guests and are also ready to give any help or clarification that the guest may need. The hostel is organized very well and it has a very cool atmosphere. Excellent location. You can hike to Maziso from the hostel, which is where the most important rivers of the country are born (you can also see 5 waterfalls at once). You dont see hostels like this one very often.
Cons: The milk powder jar was empty from when I checked in to when i checked out. I ate my cereal with water.

Pros: It is a hotel to enjoy it with all the facilities. The owners live there and are always very aware that everything is fine. Cons: The location is a little far away from town. Hard access

Pros: Ok rooms, very rustic but comfy. Mosquito nets over the bed. Excellent restaurant. Delicious breakfast. Very nice surroundings, within the nature. 15-20min walk to "downtown" Tours organized directly in the hotel worked out nice, same price as everywhere
Cons: There's nothing much to say actually. The only complain is that we've been there in a very low season, so no one at all to socialize with
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable stay in unusual accommodation. Staff very helpful and restaurant excellent.
Cons: n.a.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The finca is set above the main town centre, on a hill, in total peacefulness. The rooms themselves are incredibly comfortable and cool, and have wonderful beds. The breakfast was delicious - homemade yogurt, fresh fruit, eggs, the best bread (homemade) we've had in Colombia and coffee from a local coffee farm. We also had dinner twice during our stay and that too was delicious - vegan curry was heaven, and the spaghetti apparently was very good too! The staff at the finca are delightful, friendly and helpful. They arranged a tour on horses of the local archaeological sites with Pacho, a local guide. We loved Pacho and the ride so much that we booked another afternoon of riding with Pacho. He is an absolute dream, and even though we don't speak much Spanish and he doesn't speak English, we still had a fabulous time. We cannot recommend this Finca highly enough. If you like peace, nature and are sensitive to ecological matters, Finca El Maco is for you.
Cons: -
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I spend 6 nights at Finca el Maco (3 in the dorm and 3 in Chalet 2). The dorm is without a contest the cleanest dorm I have stayed in in over 20 years of travelling (the beds are made up every day) and the only reason i changed to the chalet was to get a better view over the mountains (the views are absolutely stunning from Finca el Maco). The chalet was also amazing with a terrasse and hammock and also super clean. The food is amazing and the portions very big. Yolanda and Christian in the reception are super friendly and professional and made sure I had a great stay. All the rest of the staff are equally friendly and helpful. I would really recommend the horseback tour with Pacho and the jeep tour.
Cons: Nothing not to like.
7.0 Good
Pros: Very comfortable bed and nice atmosphere in the cabana. Quite big cabana and nice bathroom Good service, very clean
Cons: Very cold in the cabana and no hot water we had to take a shower in an another cabana. Lots of insects in the room (spiders, mosquitoes, cockroach) , you should not be afraid of living in the wild :) Bad wifi reception in the cabana The hotel is located 10 min walking from the pueblo, then you have to walk up a hill for 8 min as the road is being fixed
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great quiet bungalows with Gardenview. Friendly staff and best breakfast in Colombia!
Cons: Sometimes water was Not warm enough for showers.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Out of town and a beautiful setting. While communication wasn't easy the staff certainly fulfilled every request.
Cons: Out of town so not very convenient for some things. It felt odd the first night that we were served dinner and then everyone left. No questions or offers re the meal. Of course we seemed the only guests that night and we didn't speak each others language so I don't know how it could have been much different. The food was very good but a bit pricey.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff; great views, lovely garden, interesting birds.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is very nice! We dont speak Spanish and they didnt speak any english, but they were perfectly happy to let us use Goole Translate and we generally got everything across we needed to. The food was delicious but not a ton of options if you are there for more than a few days. Our room was huge too, which was nice. The property itself is also very tranquil and relaxing!
Cons: The rooms have zero insulation so it feels like you can hear a pin drop. Luckily, nobody was crazy loud and I wore ear plugs, so not a huge issue. The hotel only takes cash (as well as for any tour you book). This was a bit annoying as the ATM in town was out for a few days...
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfortable and the staff were incredible! If you want to stay in "heaven" this is definitely the place!
6.8 Good
Pros: The view is beautiful. It is quiet and peaceful with fresh air. It has a character about it that is quite attractive. The staff is very helpful and pleasant to deal with. This might be a better place for a family or a couple who has a very short vacation time and not so much for budget travelers.
Cons: It was too far away from the archaeological park for us. We had no choice but to eat at the hotel, which was a little bit expensive. The water in the shower was cold. Whether it was the bamboo walls or the calfskin rug on the floor, there was something in the room that made us itch and cough.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Magical space in San Agustin. The staff is so welcoming and gives you a feeling like your at your grandma's house. The breakfast is delicious combination of all of the colors of the rainbow served up by rainbow smiles. The ecological park they are developing is on its way to become an enchanted forest. Hands-down one of the best places I have stayed at!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: El llugar es mas bonita! A wonderful place with a nice garden, nice people, very friendly and our room was a tree house! We loved it! The bed was very comfortable and we had a very good stay at finca cielo! Absolutely to recommend. And I loved the horse riding during the mountains! What a great experience!
Cons: Nada, todo perfect

Pros: The location and beautiful view; Sandro and the helpful staff; the horseback ride to El Puratal y La Chaquira and Faiber, our guide, for his willingness to share his local knowledge; Lucas the friendly parrot.
Cons: In one room, the handbasin waste emptied onto the floor and couldn't be fixed during the 3 night stay. The guadua construction is attractive but you can hear the conversation of the people next door.

6.3 Good
Pros: Great location, nice communal area for sitting. Very cheap.
Cons: Seemed to be run by very young people (all under 18?) who were perfectly friendly but meant for a strange atmosphere. We stayed two nights and one night they had rented out the communal area outside our room for a community /religious / pyramid scheme type meeting which was very strange. Didn’t see any other guests but we were there low season. Bathroom had no separate light from bedroom.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: very nice place. Quiet and confortable. The owners are very nice, and share a lot of informations about the city and the activities available. The place is very clean. One of our best hotel in Colombia.

Pros: The building is very charming and the garden, pond and veg patch are beautifully kept. Such caring and kind hearted hosts, we were made to feel very welcome. The breakfast were massive and to a high standard.
Cons: When we arrived there were hairs in and on the bed, I asked for them to be changed and they forgot to change the pillow cases which still smelt. Each morning there was a hair in my breakfast. Pros: Staff are so friendly and helpful, they'll arrange everything. The location is really good-- quick walk to town, a nice (not too long) walk to the park. Near restaurants and stables for riding. Very quiet at night (but I think that's just San Agustin).
Cons: The wifi didn't really work in my room.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were so happy with our stay here! It's just on the edge of town which is so fantastic because this was such a nice and quiet place to stay. The room was great. Very clean. Hot water was fantastic. Wifi good. But most of all the owners were so nice, helpful and trustworthy. Gerado brought up a thermos of coffee and left it for us on the balcony each morning. We were able to use the kitchen if we wished and there is a fridge. Also, just as tip, I would def do the jeep tour. Your entry ticket is good for two days and covers the park near town and most of the sites on the jeep tour. So glad we stayed 3 nights here. Thank you so much!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Felt homely. The owner arranged a jeep trip and a horse riding that that went well

Pros: View was wonderful and just a short walk uphill to have such a great view. Breakfast was delicious! It was a large banana pancake with fresh fruit and honey on top and coffee. Room was spacious and had a nice patio seating area outside our door to enjoy the wonderful views. Staff was friendly and informative. Would highly recommend.
Cons: There was only 1 shower with warm water. It was a little bit awkward as there was no space to put anything inside the shower room (ie. dry towel and change of clothes) without getting wet. Still worth it to stay here and only a minor inconvenience!

Pros: Very good location, above the town with a lovely view. The hostel has a nice common area on the terrace with hammocks. The owner was very helpful with any kind of information and recommendation. and I'm grateful to him for helping us to get a bus to Popayn and being picked up at the hostel.
Cons: The bathroom in a private room was very small and water pressure very low, it took patience to take a shower. I would appreciate the kitchen to be cleaner and sometimes it was awkward to use the kitchen in the mornings when the breakfast was served by the owners as there was one kitchen shared by guests and owners as well.

Cons: Nothing
6.8 Good
Pros: For a very reasonable price, you get everything you need. The staff is kind, and the hostal is right at the center of town, making purchases and activities comfortable.
Cons: The location is as said, in a central zone. There´s party noise until 11 PM +-, and roosters start making noise at 5 AM, making sleeping for long periods impossible. Also, since the hostal has only two rooms, it´s not recommendable if you are coming alone and want to meet people at your hostal.

Cons: No wifi and no hot water
6.3 Good
