Excellent well run 5* hotel lack of a beach nearby
Tranquil and relaxing Location is not exactly perfect.
The hotel staff and facilities are excellent as well as the hotel being exceptionally clean. The food is wonderful too.
location, facilities, food, peaceful. Allstaff very helpful and efficient. Prices of food and drink very reasonable (contrary to some other opinions I have read) no
Beatiful location,Swimming Pools. Excellent Food and very high standards of service.
Pool and roooms are wonderful Front desk service could have been better. Location is fine for full-board, stay on site relaxation, but not for island exploring without a car.
That they upgraded us to very spacious rooms with terraces overlooking the ocean; natural friendliness of staff; choice of food in buffet Service at reception was sometimes (when they were busy) slow and unhelpful.
It was very quiet, no noise, very clean. Excellent view overy the see and the garden. The hotel staff was always helpful and nice. I expected the spa infrastructure was included in the price of the hotel, but you had to pay additionally.
All staff very friendly. Fantastic food. All facilities very clean, especially pool areas
This time, nothing We were put in a room on the second floor. It hadn't been cleaned and was gloomy. We asked in reception to be changed, and were told that clients that use booking.com were usually put on the first floor, When I pointed out that the five or six previous visits , all using booking.com, I had been put on the 6th, 5th 4th floor but never on the first or second. The receptionist then said it was a "courtesy" of the hotel to do this, and I then asked why this had not been explained to me in previous visits, as it seemed to be important information, i.e. if you book a room in this hotel, through booking.com, you will be placed on the first floor, unless the hotel deems it fit to offer another room as a "courtesy" at their convenience.
Room was nice (but needs to be redone urgently), we received sea-pool view without any extra charge. Food was excellent and very clean. very quiet place. friendly staf. nice beaches nearby (in front of grand duque hotel), nice admosphere. lots of natiionalities in the hotel, not only russian or german, we liked the hotel for the money we paid, but see con- points if you pay a lot. Pool was too deep for people who can not swim (min 1m55 !!) (all 3 pools!!), piano man in evening is terrible. people who stayed in ALL-in did not get all in at all, still to pay a lot for some drinks. rooms need to be re-decorated urgently, are getting old, bathroom very badly build (tiles in all directions, paint all over places where it should not be, etc...), Not palace or **** level at all, more ***. if you want nightlife, not the place to be. food at poolbar is terrible
This was a lovely hotel in an ideal location for quite, restful holiday. Food was good and hotel facilities excellent.
Good size rooms, courtesy room for travelers who had late flights home. Good choice of food but it was not always seved hot, it was mainly warm. Could have done with more staff on reception.
There was plenty of on-street parking. The food was very poor. The furniture was old. I had ants in my bathroom. The whole hotel had the air conditioning turned up too high. I was very cold at night. I asked 3 different receptionists for some hotel information and none of them got back to me at all.
Facilities, food Staff were rushing to clear dinner away even though you were allowed in up till a certain time
friendly service, large rooms, large lounges , good food ,clean, free wifi the room we booked with booking.com was on the external side of the hotel where was quite some noise in the evening and night. On this side was the parking of the staff, soa lot of cars starting at 23-24 h and arriving at 06-07 h;also the garbitch was there,so collection during the night.I don't know if this due to the price of the room or coincidence
Their organisation, the catering runs like awell oiled machine. The rooms although clean and comfortable were a bit souless compared to the public spaces in the hotel. However this is a minor critisim and would not put me off staying again.
Staff were friendly and helpful. The buffet at both breakfast and dinner were amongst the best that we have experienced. During our stay it was my wife's birthday and, without prompting, the hotel served us sparkling wine in our room. The beds were uncomfortable. Because it is the last hotel in the resort it is a long walk to nearby Playa de las Americas - but this could equally be an attraction to some people because if you just want to chill out the hotel can comfortably satisfy all your needs.
the food ,staff, location and facilities noise transfer-they need to carpet bedrooms
Excellent hotel with good selection of restuarants, nice pool area and friendly staff! For the price paid & star rating I would have expected; - 1 - internet access in the room - 2 - more/higher grade Audio & Video equipment (no radio, cd- or DVD-players and an old 22-inch tv) - 3 - Mineral water or a bottle of wine and/or fresch fruits etc to be in the room as a welcome gesture on arrival!
Breakfast buffet and the spa. Non-functioning portions of the spa circuit, lack of transparency of the in-room international phone rates.
room size and cleanliness too impersonal
It was quiet. Great value for money. Loved the padded matressed sun beds. Also great to have 2 sunbeds on the balconey. No iron despite saying on website you could get one in reception which resulted in me having to buy one. We Arrived at 2Am due to 2 hour delay at airport and despite ringing the hotel beds for the children were not ready and they were exceptionally hard.
I love the open air hallways and the outstanding staff - they are very helpful and friendly - from the cleaning staff all the way up to the managers. No real complaints - some of the shopping units were empty - this was a pity. They should offer local shops a 'free' day or night where they could come and use the units for free to promote and bring awareness of the local shopping area.
I throughly enjoyed the pool/decking area on the top of the hotel it was very relaxing and peaceful, just what the doctor ordered.
Very comfortable hotel, great value, location
Truly a grand, impressive entrance and hall. Spacious rooms, comfortable.
We enjoyed our stay here. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is also very clean and at anytime of the day you can get a sunbed. Poeple who reserve beds are in for a shock as the hotel lifts all towells and belongings from unoccupied beds - very relaxing holiday indeed. My down side was the food. I am really glad we were bed and breakfast only as the breakfast was a big let down and speaking to various people around the hotel the food in the evenings was not of 5 star standard. 1 couple said they have eaten out all week as the food was terrible. Five star - I don.t think so I would grade the food side of the hotel a poor 4 star. The hotel room should also have tea making facilities in the rooms.
Being able to choose location of room
efficiency of staff
The hotel was as advertised and an enjoyable experience. You had to pay into the hotel gym. This is not what you expect from a 5 star hotel and seems a cheap attempt to get extra cash out of their guests. One expects a hotel of this size to have its gym available at no cost and indeed, I have not come across this before. Also, the choice of food available, esp in the evenings, was limited with not much variation.
Everything was perfect! I was very surprised when I was offered an apartment in bungalow. The food is very delicious and various. Free wi-fi is extremely low...
When I registered by distaste for the bungalow presentation and position the staff were extremely helpful in repositioning my family. The bungalows
Great hotel for familys with young children, separate bugaloes gives feel of more privacy, lots of children facilites and activites
Reception manager helpful and flexible about the location of our bungalow: first was too close to pool; second bungalow towards the back and higher up the ground suited us better. Stayed half-pension, breakfast and dinner were ok. Dinner drinks were extra, but not too expensive. Pool was nice: shallow part for children, no scramble for lounge chairs and towels. Best part: Kinderanimation (children's entertainment)! Animation team primarily German, but they also engaged with English- and Spanish-speaking children. Our 5-year old loved it: when not swimming, he was at supervised play room or grounds; and 'Kinderdisco' every night. We bought their CDs so our son can sing and dance to the Animation music at home. Most cakes for buffet dessert pretty much tasted the same, after a week of eating at the restaurant.
The Location of the Hotel was very good with just a short walk downhill to Fanebe Beach. The All Inclusive element was very good value considering the Euro/Pound exchange rate. The breakfast buffet was a bit manic!!
Rooms size is very good, big balcony, variety of food in breakfast and dinner, cleaning is excellent, very good location for family vacation reception stuff was not friendly, rooms are bit tired, also bathroom
Weather and food Our child was abandoned and left unattended at the kids club
I did not like having to stand in line for tea or coffee in the morning. I do not think this ia 4 star standard.
I found the hotel excellent in every way, the staff were very efficient and helpful. I stayed half board and found the food very good.
The position was good The pool area wasnt the best we have had before
Family friendly & pleasant staff Could be difficult for people with walking difficulties going to anf from the besch
I liked for sure the spatious room and the view to the swiming pool. The food is good and I liked that impression I had - good management with smiling people. The personnel at the reception desk are profesionals and they gladly offer their support. Our compatriote - Adrian helped us a lot to organize our to Aeropuerto Sur and all his colleagues from the restaurant were doing their best to make our stay there a more pleasant one. The walk to the beach is a good opportunity to inhale that magnificent air of the ocean breze. A suggestion I have: I consider that a more variate fruit buffet at breakfast it would be an appreciate improuvement.
Friendly staff and hotel facilities Brakfeast
The staff are very friendly and very efficient. It is a very relaxing hotel to stay in. We were with our friends and our daughter with a 7 year old and we all loved it would go back again. The pool is excellent for children and the all inclusive is great value. It was our second time there and we will definitely be going back when the ash cloud is over. not 1 complaint
Hotel very nice and in good location. Food really nice with plenty of choice. Two big swimmingpools and well equipted new gim. Very friendly animation team (international). Rooms furnitures quite old...and I would say the same about other hotel guests;) 70% of all guests were over 70 years old..mostly British..In the morning they booked best places near swimming pool (thou it is not allowed) and spent there no more then 30 minutes in the afternoon...Slow lifts especialy during meals..better take floors 1-3 and use stairs if possible.
The room was basic but the hotel was excellent, half board was a good deal and the food choice very good. The hotel was in an good position for the beach, bars etc. None
The location near the beach was excellent. The food was varied and delicious (we had halfboard). We also liked the active animation-team and the entertainment (for both kids and adults). The much-needed airconditioning did it's job perfectly during the hot weather. The room was big enough and kept clean, it also had a nice seaview from the balcony. And last but not least - the staff was very helpful and friendly. There's nothing really negative to say about this hotel. Maybe the fact that the drinks are a bit expensive at dinner/in the bar.
you could get easy from the airport to the hotel,it was very close to the beach, it had a very big restaurant with a good program, outside the hotel is the meeting poit for many trips like Jungle park, San Miguel Castel, etc, tv channels in 4languages english, german, italian, spanish the furniture and the painting in the hotel room are a little too old, and this was unpleasant(I speak on the behalf of my room)
Breakfast, pool area, location. Rooms a bit outdated, elevators hard to catch.
The breakfast buffet was very large. The view from the room and location were ideal. The bed was a bit stiff.
Nice location, beside the beach and promenade, friendly staff, nice breakfast and super view from our 8th floor room.
We have stayed there often in the past and really like the warmth and professionalism of the staff Some facilities could benefit from a "face lift"
The choice of food at breakfast and dinner was excellent. Very attentive, hard working waiters. The hotel has bright and spacious puclic areas. There was good entertainment for families. There are not really enough lifts for the number of people staying in the hotel. Bedrooms could do with a refresh.
This is an excellent hotel in an outstanding location in Playa De Las Americas. Situated right on the beach, we used the small beach right outside the hotel a couple times, even though the shore was a bit rocky. A nicer, larger beach can be found on the other side of Puerto Colon, known as Torviscas Playa. The food was very good, and the selection was absolutely huge, although I have had better food at other resorts. There is certainly something here to be found for everyone. I had requested a room on a higher floor to avoid any noise that may occur at lower levels, and they accomodated my request with a nice 10th floor room with a beautiful view overlooking Puerto Colon, Torviscas, and the sea. All hotel staff was very accomodating! Hotel room was a bit small and out-dated, and in need of remodeling. Beds were very hard.
We like everything except the mattress The mattress
The location is excellent, the staff are great and the hotel is lovely
nice peaceful and quiet with plenty of space in and around the pool area with nice helpful pleasasnt staff rooms are positioned like apartment blocks with some noisy dutch children playing football in among the grassed area causing damage to plants etc no respect to others should be a safe childrens sport area and signs showing no football rooms are very good but not 5 star food very good and entrance hall spectacular and worthy of 5 star
nice place, several pools, meal, clean and cosy rooms
Location Kids prefered facilities at the Iberostar Costa Colero , needs more for children , playpark ?
Location and accommodations. Willingness to help out and accommodate problems. Bad room location at first, other information in reservation was not known to all hotellpersonal at first.
top class kids club. very relaxing stay no magners / bulmers
The saltwater swimming pool was excellant and the reception staff were very helpful and efficient. The spa was very good and value for money Restaurants were very poor quality for evening dinner. restaurant staff were courteous however they were very badly trained. not what should be expected from this class of hotel. There should be a business centre facility. I had to use the reception desk for some urgent business.
The sea view and balcony. The size of the bed and room.
The design and style of the hotel, the large (55m2) bungalows, the choice at the buffet, the products in the bathroom (Hermès), the massage shower and the friendliness of the staff (i.e. most waiters and the very professional staff at the reception). If the buffet offered a large choice and fresh as well as tasty products, these remain rather simple in general. The "Entrecôte" was excellent! Real gourmets should probably try the gourmet restaurant of the hotel. The beach is a few minutes' walk away and the hotel is situated on a hill, but there is a bus shuttle and the hotel offers some nice pools. There is no possibility to get a single room.
The comfort, friendleness of the staff and the spa. Evening meal was poor, in fact very poor for 40 euros a head. Eating out was so much better and cheaper. However Breakfast and lunch were always good.
Nordac walking, some other keep fit routines and massage Lack of vegetarian options on menus
Very big, clean and comfortable room and terrace. The stuff is very polite and nice. The brekfast is perfect The hotel is situated far away from the sea and from the city center.
It was very luxurious and the facilities are excellent.
Everything was nearly perfect. Breakfast - amazing choice and quality. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Overall style and design - excellent... But, people is the main asset of this Hotel - the personell is superp, helpful, proffessional and friendly. Exactly what you expect from a "real 5 star Hotel". Thanks !!!
not consistent service at lunchbar at lunch time. Otherwise no complaints
This was a superb hotel, with very helpful staff giving excellent service and providing what I would assess to be some of the best half-board food that I have experienced. I recommend taking the half-board option for €35 per person per day from the outset. The pools were well kept, bar food was very reasonable and portions large for the price charged. The suite with upstairs private sun area and personal jacuzzi looking out to sea was a special touch and very well done. Golf was organized with absolute ease and free transfers by the hotel staff to local courses was provided free of charge. Finally, the al a carte restaurant was simply superb with the 7 course taster menu firmly recommended. Noting this was a 5 star hotel, the staff were, on occasion, under resourced. It was not their fault at all as they worked very hard to provide us with great service, but a few more on duty during busy periods would have made the service even better. Also, the location is at the apex of a reasonably busy road which took the shine off what was otherwise a holiday oasis amongst a fairly built up area. That said, it was a relaxing 5 day stay for two adults.
The spa is amazing! The staff were all lovely, food at the buffet (breakfast and dinner) was of a high standard. Lovely lagoon swimming pools and the double sunbeds are amazing - if you can get one! The reserving of sunbeds with towels and books is out of control and unmonitored. There are signs up everywhere saying it's not allowed but noone takes any notice. It's very unfair and they need to actively dissuade people from doing this.
Great location and value for the money. The spa personnel.
position bar products,old type cocktails
Very nice place. All the ingredients for an excellent stay are present. Special grading for the wonderful breakfast buffet. Never experienced such a choice of good and fresh food. Never been disappointed during our stay.
Well designed, high quality hotel. Swimming pool excellent. Very good location close to the beach in a nice area. For a 5 star hotel the food, though perfectly acceptable, was not quite of the same quality as we have encountered on our previous visits to the Canaries.
Beautiful hotel and lovely staff
cappuccino (with milk) bad coffee at breakfast. No cappuccino
The atmosphere was very relaxing and the area where the hotel was located was pleasant. The facilities were great and the staff went about their duties in a friendly but discreet manner. The breakfast buffet was extensive and very enjoyable. Decor was palatial. Really enjoyed our stay.
Breakfast buffet was fantastic. Staff very friendly but repectful.
very friendly atmosphere, staff very helpfull, nothing to complain!
room was great, very clean and spacious. Nice walk to the beaches close to playa de las america.Staff is very formal
Location, comfort, peace and quiet in the rooms, beds, efficency of the staff and the hotel had a nice feel to it. Too many noisy children and having to struggle to secure a sun lounger from the Saturday onwards. Also, the restaurants and refreshments at the hotel were very expensive.
Big room, good bed View could have been better
Staff were very friendly and the facilities were very good Restaurants were mixed. Food very good in Japanese, but service was appalling.
Although the hotel was only 35% full the sunbathing area on the lawned area as well as by the poolside was excellent and spacious. The breakfast was well provided for with free champagne if you wanted it. The prices charged for drinks and snacks were expensive, which we were warned about by the locals! I.E. 4.5 euros for half a litre of bottled water, which resulted in many people going to the local spa, across the road and stocking up with provisions, slightly embarassing when re- entering through the main entrance but unusally the staff did nit seem to mind this and on a good note we were actually provided with an empty 2nd fridge in our room, which we were told was for our own personal use
The tranquil atmosphere, we went to relax and we did.
Nice, spacious room.Beautiful swimming pools, Very good breakfast buffet.Quiet.Beatiful location next to La Caleta with good walking possibilities along the seaside. Mediocre restaurants. Drinks and food expensive.Premium De Luxe Room with sea view: somewhat poor view of the sea and closed in balcony.Better towels.
Excellent hotel; perfect location; very good animation for kids
Very relaxing Too far out, not much going on in the area
Excellent breakfast buffet, Great Spa with friendly professional therapists Staff/ service in Breakfast Room. Felt if you were not in a Club Room you were ignored
The hotel itself is absolutely great in a fantastic position
Location Unfortunately, the booking was not received and we were put a room we had not requested. A lot of mix up and ended up paying more than the original quote. Always use Booking.com and always this hotel, so this experience was a little disappointing as we had to change rooms during our short stay
The El Mirador was luxury personified...very quiet but we had a fabulous stay there. One note, eat at the Torre Mirador restaurant just below the hotel...again fabulous with brilliant music.
