Vendor sight could not validate my id even though it’s a valid dl from Indiana, the same one that I’ve used dozens of times to get rentals at other locations. To add insult to injury, the vendor refused to help and directed me to call customer support. Then when I contacted customer support I could not cancel my reservation and not could I rent a car because of their inability to validate a drivers license. Kayak is a scam.

The price was double what was quoted on kayak website. The name of the company is not ACE it’s Charlie Car Rental. Terrible customer service, the car had sand all inside of it. I had purchased insurance through kayak they made me buy an additional insurance coverage. Just all around terrible experience. I would’ve absolutely picked another company if I knew this would’ve been the outcome. You should remove them from your website.

kayak was misleading. i booked the rental for sju but when i arrived the rental car company was not at the airport. very confusing. we waiting over 30min for a shuttle. then i paid much hiring than the advertised price. i wont book anything with kayak again and do the research myself to find a suitable rental car company.

To begin with, the amount quoted was definitely not what I received from Kayak. They obligated to take their insurance because I didn’t show proof, ( a letter), indicating that my insurance would cover vehicle. Otherwise, I couldn’t take the vehicle. That’s real bad business and will NOT EVER recommend Dollar rental to anyone and maybe even Kayak because of false quote.

You should have told me it was not on the airport property. You need to clearly disclose that you need to wait for a shuttle to go off property to get your car. Finding the shuttle is hard and takes too long. Cheap price is good but not if you don't disclose the inconveniences,

Upon arrival from CT, I was told my reservation had been canceled the night before! More outrageous thing was that I was forced to take insurance full cover!!! Either that or stay stranded without a car. I believe that was rip off and illegal, since i had declined insurance because my own insurance covers rentals. Staff was not helpful and did not seem to care that they took advantage of travelers with a blank stare. Also, I was charged a whole day plus taxes, fees and insurance for returning the car one hour late!!! Won’t rent from Dollar again. Better get Uber. Stay away from this company!!!

The staff was very friendly. I rented a Jeep Wrangler and received a Honda CRV. I would not have mentioned it, but it was specific that it was a Wrangler to enjoy the environment on this vacation. Our flight was late, so they cancelled the Jeep and gave it to someone else after two hours. Nowhere does it say after two hours your car is cancelled ( I would’ve called if I knew this information). They did not call to confirm.

We waited over 1 hr in line for this car. Then they gave us a cat and then said, oh no you have to wait another 30 minutes for another car. This one is rented! -1 1/2 hrs wait to leave Thrifty. We missed our dinner RSVP. Terrible service at the counter. terrible!

We booked a car for $140 for 6 days. I checked several times to make sure the car rental was at the airport, not with a shuttle. When we arrived, and finally found an attendant for U-Save amongst the crowd when you exit SJD (Cabo) airport, he indicated we would take a shuttle to the car rental office. We still waited 5-10 minutes for the shuttle. When we finally arrived, they said there were mandatory insurance fees of nearly $60/day, which would bring my total closer to $500–that’s more than triple the price I had reserved with. That was supposed to be the total cost. After much back and forth, they said there’s nothing they could do and that this 3rd party insurance is required in Mexico. We were almost going to agree, about to start the paperwork, then they said they would have to charge $1500 as a deposit for incidentals. This was NOT a hold, this was going to be a charge that they would refund. I’ve rented cars before and I understand a deposit for incidentals. But this amount seemed outrageously high, especially in light of the forced insurance. We decided to skip the car rental altogether and just used taxis/Uber to get around. It cost us much much less, and definitely less headache. I would never ever book with U-Save ever again. And generally be wary of renting a car in Cabo for that matter, as they just try to impose additional costs and triple the anticipated cost.

We requested a large SUV - like an expedition. Instead we got a palisade. We had 8 adults and luggage for a week, so it was extremely cramped and uncomfortable anywhere we went. The Hertz team initially told us that is would be 35 minutes while they cleaned the vehicle for us. But they just immediately gave us the palisade. We were happy to wait for the correct size vehicle, but they would not give it to us. Extremely disappointed in Hertz this trip. We would have even settled for two vehicles instead, but they would not accommodate. I’ll rent somewhere else next time.

They didn’t have a car for me. The customer service at the station was awful. The young lady at the desk couldn’t have cared less about the fact they had no car, despite me booking one. The main depot didn’t even answer the phone to her so she could get an update. I eventually walked out after I was an hour late after my booking time, with no car. So disgusted. I am an ex Avis employee so it’s even worse!

Nothing. I arrived at 10:00 AM. I waited in the hot garage with mosquitos for 45 minutes. We got our car after 11. The computer system was down so the 2 customers in front of me took about 25 minutes each.

Cons:

We showed up at 10:00 AM, we should have gotten our car before 11....We could have been allowed to wait in the AC instead of the hot mosquito infested garage... The employee could have moved a little quicker. I would not rent here again. The car gas tank could have been full instead of 5/8's, so many things could have been better.

We had a two week rental. On first day of the tental the agency called saying they had no cars leaving us stranded at our Airbnb. He said they might have a car later or maybe it would be 3 days. For hours after that call they would not answer their phone.. Finally they did answer and he had one come in.

That particular location did not have an airport shuttle, the shuttle took me to another location where I had to take a cab to the correct location, which was a total drag since I was coming from the airport.

This is now the second time with Nu car that I have had this same/ awful experience. Will not rent with them again. I arrived 2 hours after my rental was supposed to begin. They told me they no longer had my car (even though there were 6 of that same car in the lot) and made me pay an extra $160 for a different car. This is unethical and I will never rent from my car again.

The reservation company took my money and made the reservation with NU Car. When I went to pick up the car they refused to give me the car stating that I was a Florida state resident and they did not rent to Fl state residents. Says it is in their contract and it absolutely was not!!!! The reservation company could not find it either. I did get my money back but was without a car again. Will never use NU Car again. Reservation company was awesome, not NU Car.

Horrible customer service at the desk. I felt lied to and they upsold me. Business was closed when I arrived on a late flight. They told me my class of car was not available. They knew I wouldn’t be in until after they closed and was told I shouldn’t have a problem and when I went in the next day they claim they didn’t have the class of car I asked for and I would have to pay more money: it got so frustrating I gave in. Stuck in a city with no money, kids and luggage, I was taken advantage of.

They didn’t have my reservation. Very unfriendly and wouldn’t try to solve what happened. Even though they had a car available said they couldn’t do a direct reservation. Went back to terminal which is about 20 min time and rented with Avis - They were very helpful. My advice. Stick with the main car rental companies at the terminal.

Once we made it to the car rental facility via shuttle (all other car rentals are on site…that was the first alarm bell that went off), we had to wait about an hour until our name was called (we were second in line!!). The staff was moving at a snails pace. I almost thought at one point that they were going that slow so we would get frustrated and leave. It almost worked. Once my name was finally called, the guy was going through the contract with me and suddenly it was an additional $120!!! I asked him to explain that to me and there was a $20 daily charge for going to another state (our trip was 1.5 hrs each way) and an $80 fee for insurance. That’s such a scam! Most personal car insurance plans cover rentals. I had to show proof of insurance (had my husband send a pic) and he removed the fee. The gas tank was only half full and I was told to bring it back at that. Also a scam bc it’s harder to control than a full tank, so I brought it back at 3/4 tank. The entire experience was so frustrating. I will pay the few extra dollars to go to a legit car rental for now on. What a joke!

They charged me $1500 on my visa. Not a hold. It took a whole week to get my money back. They could not electronically return it after I returned the rental car a day early. They had to write me a cheque. I was not happy that it took so long and it inconvenience me.

I don’t know. I never got to rent it. My flight got delayed and they cancelled my reservation and then closed. Luckily there were half a dozen places still open.

Horrible - do not book with NextCar. They denied my car insurance because I was not the primary policyholder. I have full coverage insurance, so there was no logistical reason to deny it. The supplemental insurance cost as much as the rental itself. I was never told at the time of booking that I would be forced to use their insurance if I wasn’t the primary policyholder. I was only told so 24 hours out from my booking. I’m actively trying to get a refund for this.

I liked and enjoyed the car. The pick up was the worse experience I’ve ever had renting a car. I was told I had to get collision and sign up, get a quote on the spot and pay for it to continue the rental process. Very strange that they don’t have that worked out already. The vehicles were in a shared parking lot. I wasn’t given the paper to hand off to the attendant to receive the vehicle so I had to go back and get it. They only have one shuttle bus so if you miss it you have to wait an hour for the next. It was AWEFUL. I willl never use this company again.

Upon arrival we followed instructions and attempted to contact Nextcar. Nextcar never responded to any of our calls or emails, we eventually had to secure another rental at the last moment for 3 times the cost. Do not ever use Nextcar!

This company is a scam. They didn’t even have the car. I had to have 4 wheel drive for the location I was staying. I paid for a 4 wheel drive. They didn’t have it. They had a beat up car. I couldn’t get my money back from them. They said there was nothing they could do. I should have read these reviews on this company before. I normally do and of course when I slacked, I had the worst experience with a rental company of my life. I paid for 2 weeks rental and never even took a car. Total scam!
