english speaking recepionist was fantastic. Well appointed , great location to explore the mountains and historic sites eg monastry
convenient stop in the pyrenees breakfast sparse
Too hot in the room
Modern, purpose-built hotel located in a residential area. Jaca is a small place, so even though the hotel looks like it is in the outskirts of the town it is actually only five minutes' walk (uphill) from Calle Mayor, the major artery of the Old Town.
The hotel was a short walk fron the town centre. It had very friendly and helpful staff and good restaurant facilities. Despite what is says on the booking.com website there is no WiFi and there are no laundry facilities.
We liked its situation, right in the center of lively Jaca. The rooms were very nice and the breakfast excellent. No
The hotel was plain and down to earth. good value for money. would use again.
Hotel Mur was in an excellent location opposite the castle, close to shopping and restaurants. It was well placed for exploring the rest of the countryside, breakfast was good value and the room was quite lovely as was the whole hotel especially being open since 1875. No parking available.
Centrally situated in Jaca, a most pleasant medium sized town. A good selection of restaurants nearby; overlooks the Fort and a pleasant open space. Comfortable rooms, excellent value.
location, and service no
good location, friendly staff, clean hotel.
Central for all amenities. Jaca was a pleasant surprise. No Car Parking,
Location in center of town. Internet available at hotel and nearby. Good food. Quiet rooms.
The hotel is in an ideal location, surrounded by fantastic scenery and close to the mountains for walking etc. Excellent standard of food and service in restaurant. The bar area is not very comfortable.
We loved the location, only 5 minutes walk from the centre of town. The pool area was lovely to relax in. Room was great value for money. We would use this hotel again. No
Very clinical. Walls are very thin - could hear noise from all bedrooms around us the next morning.
Close to the town centre, staff were helpful, rooms clean but a little dated, would stay there again.
Location of hotel Hotel is somewhat dated
A lovely hotel with friendly staff and a great pool!
Location in centre of town. Rooms ok and air conditioning very effective. Breakfast very good value. Very limited parking in hotel and in surrounding streets. Thier garage has very low headroom.
Swimming pool lovely; restaurant excellent; proximity to town (shops, sights, liveliness).
Good quality and very clean Very noisey young families
great welcome, excellent hosts, amazing tasteful decor, total comfort, great unique home made organic mostly food, attention to detail, very helpful re maps and directions. Very relaxing atmosphere, lovely relaxing music. Luxurious public lounge, lovely room and superb location near to astounding scenery and lovely little town of Ayerbe. Will return again and hopefully have an extra night. A real treat. Perhaps a better sign from the road.
Very poor breakfast. With one notable exception staff were not customer friendly.
Central location, comfortable room with a balcony, fridge and safe. Secured garage available. Wi Fi throughout hotel, attentive staff and very good continental breakfast which was included in the price.
Once you are there, you would use the hotel restaurant and its food is very bad.
The surroundings and location on the top of a mountain were exceptional as was the reformation and preservation of the ancient site. The location is 25 Klms from Jaca making guests unable to exercise any lternative sites to eat. This hotel did not merit it's 4 star rating and the staff were certainly not up to the job. The manager informed us that they had only taken charge of the business a month earlier but this does not excuse the lack of professionalism in both reception and dining areas.
Absolutely Fabulous peace and quite, food, suroundigs and excellent price
Wonderful quiet location and unique atmosphere. Helpful staff who dealt quickly with any problems. Fittings of a poor standard. Door handle to bathroom fell off and apparently this is not unusual. Towel rail about to come away from the wall. We were moved to an upgraded room to compensate where there were vertical bars on the stairs forming a weak balustrade; the bottom bars were loose and will come away at somew point. Desk staff gave us incorrect information about the opening times of the cafe.
Facility was clean and orderly, checkin and checkout were quick, room was nicely decorated, access to museum & forest walks very good. Once we set up wifi connection, it worked well. Breakfast was fine, good value for money. Very quiet! With so few guests in mid-November, the hotel didn't feel very welcoming. Only one TV station available in room. Would visit again in warmer weather, when you can walk through park. Very chilly in the morning in museums!
A very quiet location near the fantastic old Monasterio. Excellent departure for some walking in the area. The rooms are very nice and the regional plates are very nice but there is a limited choice.
Friendly and very helpful staff. Excellent hotel facilities and services. Especially the food was great! Fluency in English and French could be improved. The swimming pool was a bit too small for a 4 star hotel.
The setting is magnificent, the hotel is very nicely appointed, the rooms are perfect in every respect We did not have the midday meal, so I cannot judge that; however, we found the evening meal menu somewhat lacking. Good quality, but very limited choice.
Friendly staff, excellent design, good facilities and installations, spacious room, very well equipped bathroom, plenty of storage space, peaceful, very attractive surroundings and an extremely interesting and well mounted museum. The food did not live up to the excellent standard of the rest of the hotel.
The walk down the mountain to the old monastery, where the Holy Grail was hidden safely away from the Moors. Teriffic walk, and a teriffic place. No
The staff were absolutely brilliant, and went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. Our Spanish isn't particularly good, but a great deal of fun was had in attempting to communicate, and they made our stay highly enjoyable. Great dinner too.
comfortable and great location. Staff wonderful and accomodating.
A tastefully modernised, beautiful old building within easy walking distance of the town centre. Staff were very friendly and courtious.
Friendly staff and the ability to take pets was a benefit for staying in this area Whilst the hotel accommodated pets, they had a policy that you were not allowed to leave the pet in the room when you weren't there, this restricted activity over other hotels that did not carry this policy. Extras were charged for everything you wanted to use, i.e car parking, WiFi, pet surcharge and meals as there was no option for accommodation with meals included. This meant that the final bill was far in excess of double the cost of the room.
Good staff, great help. Tv, only Spanish channels.
The restaurant is very good. Hotel desk is courteous and efficient. Location is quiet. Room was not very spacious and cluttered because of too much (old) furniture. Hall was noisy, because of the bare wooden floor.
Choice of quality or cheaper restaurant. Very professionally run.
very nice family run hotel. restaurant was a bit pricey
The traditional feel of the decor, whilst still being comfortable. Reception staff all speak good English
simple and clean value for money a little noisy at times, early in the morning
Located in the very center of the city close to the local places of interest
Staff try to speak english eb were very helpfull No wifi avalable
Quiet, nice view from balcony, restaurant good value Restaurant had no atmosphere
Great helpful staff centre of town clean rooms None
The friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast, which was included in the price, was very good. This was only a one-night stopover for us, but we would definitely like to return to this hotel and region of Spain for a longer period.
Lovely hotel in good, quiet position in town centre None
Great, great value!! Really nice room for a very reasonable price in the very centre of the town. Breakfast not luxurius, but really enjoyable: coffee, oranje juice, ham/cheese sandwich and biscuit/croissant, and you can enjoy it from 7 to 11! Staff was helpful and nice. Very comfortable beds, quite rooms (4th floor), flat screen tv, free Wi-Fi... The room was cooled/heated by a very modern and a little bit too noisy air conditioning system. a minor point though, because the rooms were very good insulated, so we just had to switch off the a/c when going to bed and the room remained warm all night.
excellent location at the center of old town Jaca. Staff was very helpfull. Room was clean and basic. Small balcony.
The Staff were very pleasant and helpfull also we found the Hotel to be in a very convenient position NO
Good location. Quaint old fashioned setting. It can best be described as the Spanish version of Fawlty Towers. The staff were more interested in their children than the guests and children live with the guests. The room was cold because the heating was not switched on. The hot water supply ran out. The steak for dinner was like boot leather. The hot water for tea at breakfast ran out. Our room infested with flies on arrival.
It was great Everthing was fine
the setting was beautiful as was the hotel itself. Try for a bungalow next to the river and off the road.Visit the stables round the back and explore the nearby countryside free wi fi in rooms a bonus you showed booking in 12 till 5pm l contacted hotel who told me any time before 10pm would be fine. However we tried to get there early and pleased we did to enjoy the hotel
The evening meal was really grim which was a shame because the staff were helpful.
It was a friendly , homely hotel situated in a small but picturesque village. Off the beaten track but in the centre of a good tourist area. Breakfast was good but expensive. The services from the other rooms were very very noisy which disturbed our nights sleep.
The people in this little village were absolutely wonderful. The food at the hotel was outstanding and the price was extremely reasonable compared to any place else we've stayed in Spain. It's a very small village but very scenic and just a great experience! No complaints.
Lovely hotel in a very pretty village in the foothills of the Pyrenees. Staff were vary helpful and pleasant, the breakfast was very impressive. Had to change rooms because the floor hadn't been cleaned properly, no big deal and the staff were happy to help us move.
Quiet small mountain town in the center of town great alturnative to bigger Jaca or Huesca if travelling in the North Spain mountains.
The hotel was very nicely decorated & situated in a lovely place, We only stayed one night as we were passing through. We did not like the fact that the restaurant was very expensive & the food was not good, We did have the menu del dia but there was only a choice of 2 out of 4 things & we had to pay for coffee as an extra. We had no choice as to where we ate as the staff said the closest place to eat was 5 kms away.
Welcoming staff in a small but quite lively village square but very safe for children despite its central location. The menu del dia was excellent regional cooking at a very good inclusive price.:the breakfast was in a quiet relaxed environment, with many options and excellent value. We travel through Northern Spain frequently but rarely find such a combination of overall qualities and value for an overnight stay. Highly recommended..
This is a small friendly hotel run by an Anglophile. The hotel is located at the centre of Loarre, a small historic village near Loarre Castle, "the best castle in Spain". The rooms are not large but are comfortable with a modern design which fits in well with the old building, ours had remote control air-conditioning. The evening meal (Euro 20) was good quality, relatively simple but tasty. Breakfast was fine too.
We enjoy being in a Spanish village but were disappointed that no other guests were there Lack of the good atmosphere that we had experienced on our previous visit due absence of other guests
relatively cheap. available no reception. this is an annex to another hotel
It was the worst experience!!! Please don´t stay at room 309, you simply don´t sleep because of the noisy people that lives upstairs. The only thing good was the breakfast.
the hotel was clean comfortable quiet and warm exelent positi8on for the town and ski slopes would have liked more of a choice of food for breakfast
Finally we were accomodated in the "mother" hotel Mur. It was close to the center with nice view on the "Ciudadela de Jaca". The toilet in the hotel Mur smells and without air conditioning it was hard to spend a night.
Ideally located for touring the Pyrenees. The town of Jaca is big enough to keep your interest of an evening, yet not so big as to get lost.
The hotel is nicely located close to city center, The pool was very clean and pleasant addition for tired legs after a whole day walk in the Pyrenees. The room furniture will need some modernisation.
Nice hotel, nice town, relaxed, not crowded
Close to city centre, the castle and main roads in/out of town. Easy to find, had parking and breakfast was good.
Central hotel - nice swimming pool. Staff were courteous but not in the least friendly. This is not an apartment hotel - there are no apartment facilities - except a fridge.
Stunning views of the Pyrenees from our balcony where we watched a wonderful sunset. Charming waitress in the main dining room who spoke very good English. Badly cracked basin in the en-suite. Very limited choice of dinner menu in the main dining room. Breakfast buffet was below par.
the room was very clean - quiet the staff at the reception should understand that we are the client and should be more sympathetic
Hotel location is really good. I liked the fact we had a parking area. The general construction of the building, is good as well. Not a fancy modern hotel, but very nice. Very clean, with excelent room temperature. The rooms are quiet big, good when you need space for snow lugage. The price it's a little bit high.
difficult to park, aircon turned off at night (12 pm to 8 am)
This is an excellent hotel close enough to the centre. The room we were given was actually a studio room. Very spacious, very comfortable and included a dining table and microwave. It was a shame we were only staying one night. The view from the room was spectacular, mountains all around. Jaca is a great place buzzing all the time even though it was summer and the town is really a winter ski base. The restaurant was lovely, very cosy, well decorated and the food was delicious and in our opinion not overly expensive for the quality. I would be more than happy to go back and spend more time there. there was nothing to dislike.
Lovely location, beautiful views from balcony, very nice staff and a good breakfast buffet of meats, breads, cheese, cereals and pasteries. The local resteraunt and bar was excellent and very well priced. The local wines are great. Check out the potter in town. Sauna was nice. Hot tub smelled a bit like a river.
Lovely home converted to a small hotel in a very picturesque setting. Even had a pool and sauna. Owner/operator very helpful in suggesting places to find bird species I was looking for.
Alphonso was very very helpful and gave us lots of useful information on walks for bird watching. We would have preferred to have a hotel restaurant to Jacuzzi and Sauna - but swimming pool most welcome.
The town was the prettiest little hamlet I have ever seen. The hotel was equally charming. It was really "out in the country" although only a few kilometers from Jaca. The room was delightful with a little balcony overlooking the mountains and town and wonderful down cover. There were welcoming biscuits? cookies? and a little appertif wine. Breakfast was fresh and supberb. The staff was also charming and attempted to understand our Spanish/English mix. The town closes up totally on Mondays and unfortunately we had one night that happened to be a Monday. Townspeople sent us to the Hotel Aragon on the road to Jaca for a late lunch and also dinner. This was a really simple neighbor hood pub type that served dinner also.
