This place dates back maybe 200 years to one of the city founders or something...fantastic architecture on inside...worth just dropping by to see even if you don't plan on staying there. This place is a hidden treasure. I think it was low season so I got in on deal...I tried to extend it a day or two but they wanted 3x what I paid 1st night. Still neat place and would go back when I have more money in my pocket.
Although I got the cold shoulder from one of the employees, the older gent working in the mornings was very friendly. The location near the main plaza of Latacunga is probably the best part about this place. They have some sewage issues, at least on the 3rd floor where I stayed. My room smelled atrocious! Also, the walls are not very sound-proof, so you will definitely hear your neighbor's TV!
