the peace and tranquility. the beautiful mauntains. the village.the wine.
comfortable room with a lot of space there was no space outside, there was not a terras or a swimmingpool
A very interesting place - we had a really good giuded tour of the Monastery - the guide kept apologising for her English but it was charming and we understood it very well the meals were excellent in the hotel and the restaurant acrooss the car park Nothing
The rural setting in the mountains and an old monastary were very impressive. The size and quality of the rooms were very large by European standards. It was a tremendous value! Nothing
peacefull location, very pleasant staff, comfortabe room the food was not great
The hotel is ok, location so so the food in the hotel is really bad. Dinner was the worst in our 9 day trip, next to bad street food.
the room and general hotel were very good lack of restaurant on the day we were there is not acceptable in a 4 star hotel
Quiet relaxing hotel in a beautiful valley. The rooms are clean and quiet. The staff were quiet and relaxed and provided adequate service. We booked a wine seller tour. It could not be completed as there are time limits and guide bookings to be arranged. The wine celler is approximately 8 klm away from the hotel. The web booking suggested it was in the hotel.
The hotel was charming and the staff were wonderful. The rooms were absolutely beautiful. Absolutely nothing!
peaceful location, quiet countryside around.
Lovely setting in historic town centre. The Parador benefits from secure (underground) parking and is right next to the cathedral. It provides an oasis of calm. Like all paradores this one doesnt serve evening meals until 20.30 - far too late for many northern europeans. Fortunately there are splendid restaurants nearby.
The building and ambience Difficult to find and entering the square.Clear mud maps necessary
Old historical building in the center of town next to cathedral, good breakfast Unfriendly, even arrogant staff, the hotel has been of a v good standard 20 years ago, today it´s not on the level as expected, dark rooms
Wonderful setting right next to the cathedral and close enought to do a fantastic wine tour at Marques de Riscal
Great central location opposite cathedral, free parking, nice lounge area in mediaeval hall, bright clean room overlooking the square Service ok, but a bit institutional
We have stayed here many times when we travel back to the Uk on the Ferry from Santander.Very good all around!
We have stayed many times at this Parador - always clean and comfortable.
excellent location in beautiful city poor food quality much below expectations
lobby is spacious and good atmosphere
A typical parador, with the ambience of a historic building and excellent food and drink. Slightly expensive.
The building, the service, the room, the staff, the restaurant, exellent. No.
The decor in the traditional Spanish castle style. The food was Spanish and excellent which was what we expected. Porterage was poor but it was a Sunday onnwhich we arrived
Great menu and dining experience and the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.
Very attractive hotel, nicely furnished in keeping with fact that it used to be an old monastry. Good restaurant - and open Sunday evening! No door directly from car park into hotel - and it was snowing.
Atmospheric and comfortable with good food nothing
Design and interiors - renaissances style, hotel's bar - variety of tea, nice vine list. Location - rather quite place, not in the tourist area, but still rather near. The room was a little bit small, but comfortable. Very fine and expensive windows. Please take away awful lithographs over the beds. Besides they do not match at style and the colour palette used in the room.
Very peaceful and calm. Would have liked some local information. Some friends had stayed previouly and had told us about the wonderful Cathedral containing the Cockeral ! We would never have known otherwise.
Fantastic hotel in rural, off the beaten track Spain in the heart of Rioja country. Exactly how i imagined a parador to be. Good choice of typical Riojaian restaurants in town. No
The Hotel it's self, along with the location was first class. This was the fourth Parador that we have stayed in, and both my wife and I thought that this was, possibly the best. The food was good, and the staff were polite.
i like best the hotel itself and the staff excellent assistance
The hotel is newly refurbished from their family home, tastefully redecorated As it is family ran business, the service is not very professional... but good price... spa is not working... casual food served at the hotel but not recommended.
Beautiful, cosy, taken care of hotel. Helpful staff. One of the two receptionists spoke no word of English and did not come across as very friendly. Hotel does not allow children below age of 16, but right next to it there is a playground where you hear kids cry and shout all the time. Smoking at the breakfast tables is allowed.
One of the cleanest hotels I have stayed in. Not much breakfast left after a party of cyclists preceded us and no discount for limited choice.
Very helpful and pleasant staff. Nice bright spacious clean room. Excellent location.
Owner very helpful when luggage transport didn't arrive the hotel. He personally drove to our last hotel to collect the luggage! Very friendly and helpful!! Nice, tasty breakfast with freshly made juice, coffee and bread/bakery and selection of fruits and chesse, ham etc Nothing at all!
the bed was comfortable and the bath big and clean with lots of accessories. THere was a lot of noise in the street below, but luckily it died down by 10pm. I thought the price of E50 which did not include breakfast was too high. I found the manager to be lacking in charm and friendliness.
The intimate scale of the hotel allowed one to relax. The staff were knowledgeable and very friendly while the room was tastefully designed. Very good value.
Locartio The windows didn't open!!
A delightful hotel, not very friendly, staff at the bar, not around enough, the restaurant seemed to empty all of the time, and the outside terrace and inside the hotel has a very bad smell of cat pee, they seem to have a serious problem. Our room was on the front of the hotel, and even with treble glazing the noise of the traffic was seriously disturbing.
The room was bright, spacious and extremely comfortable. The staff were courteous and helpful at all times.
Receptionist very pleasant. helpful and spoke good English. Useful location en route to Salamanca from home. No evening meal available but nearby tapas bar quite good.
Really lovely hotel in a converted palace. Excellent decor, very comfortable rooms , beds and bathrooms. Excellent staff- very warm , welcoming and helpful. Great breakfasts Limited range of food available in the evening
The relaxed atmosphere; spotlessly clean; calm decor; comfortable; extremely helpful owners.
The hotel owners were more helpful than anywhere we've stayed before. They will do anything to help you and make your visit memorable. They gave us maps, itineraries, suggestions for sightseeing, and even made dinner reservations and bookings for wine tours. They are first-rate. There is a rooster in the village that likes to get up early....
We loved this charming hotel! It had comfortable beds, warm colors, nice decor, good size bathrooms, nice showers, wood floors and plenty of amenities. This is a hotel, not a hostal. Though there wasn't anyone at the reception desk when we arrived, we received a warm welcoming tour from one of the sibblings. We were checked in by one of the twin sisters. She was very sweet, and went out of her way to help us. At the Masip Bar next door, we met the other twin sister who was also very hepful and sweet. We ate at the gourmet restaurant and were pleased at the quality and flavor of the food prepared by the chef -another sibling (though it was quite pricey). The continental buffet breakfast was good. Park in front or garage is 1 1/2 blocks away
