Terida Airport B&B - Alajuela - Building
1
9.4 Excellent (372 reviews)
Overview Reviews
A stay at Terida Airport B&B places you in the heart of Rio Segundo, a 5-minute drive from City Mall and 5 minutes from Plaza Real Alajuela. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, express check-out, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Located very close to the Airport. Effortlessly clean, it's literally spotless. Comfortable beds, all mod cons in a spacious cabin with access to a nice garden. Property in a secure private neighbourhood. The ear plugs are a nice touch as proximity does cause noise from morning aircraft departures. Breakfast is of a good standard. The host Darren is very welcoming. I recommend this B&B
Cons: It's a tricky property to find when you land in a new county with after dark and right side driving etc factored it. The owners make a great effort to stress this prior to arrival and the following is not their fault. Costa Rica has no street names and we couldn't pick it up on our GPS either.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay! The only reason it wasn't "excellent" was because of the noise from the airport, but that's also why it's a great place -- because of its close proximity to the airport. Otherwise, the place itself was clean and comfortable -- and Araya's breakfast was tasty! Darren was very welcoming and had some good suggestions about where to go shopping and for dinner nearby.
Cons: Airport noise in the morning, but there's not much to be done about that (and it wasn't constant).
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We'd like everything about the place
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very safe gates location, American standards, English speaking owner, newly remodeled
Cons: A little difficult to find the address
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is great for people like me that don’t wanna Hassle whit traffic to cache a plane the owners are very accommodating thanks.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Adriana and Darren’s B&B is a great place to stay before a flight or right after. They were so friendly and welcoming and truly had thought of everything to make it a very comfortable stay. We didn’t have to worry about finding food or transportation as they organized it for us. Would stay here again without thinking twice!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A nice B&B close to the airport. Very nice garden to relax in, and they have a small menu for dinner, which was perfect as I got in late and didn't want to go out looking for something to eat. Nice place to stay if arriving to or leaving from the San Jose airport.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hillside location gave beautiful views of the town below. The location was so quiet and felt like we were in a private retreat. The staff managed to be hidden when we didn’t need them but easily available when we did. They were all really friendly and helpful. We hired a car from Adobe and had it delivered to this accommodation. The property owner xo-ordinated this for us, which was a real luxury.
Cons: The road to the property is a really steep single track road, only a problem if you are afraid of this, otherwise not a problem at all, it is a sealed road.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place with great views! Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very peaceful very clean the owner exceptionally hospitable. The swimming pool very clean. Easy to locate plan to return many times
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I pulled into the parking lot on my first night in Atenas unaware of what I was about to see.I checked in quickly with Saydee...(who is an absolutely darling woman)...and was also greeted by Elmus her companion. When we rounded the corner of the building toward my room the perfect swimming pool was located four steps from the threshold of the entrance to my room..But I was awestruck by the view which twinkled in the darkness of night.I was also taken back by the level of sound.Nearly silent.I could not have had a nicer time at five times the money...But no money could buy the connection to the B&B I felt when I left. The warmth and sincerity of all made me lament concerning my revisiting. So I have decided two book another stay within two weeks. Can't wait to see this wonderful property,...and I long to pick it up where Ieft off.Don't miss the opportunity to visit this tremendous place. You may fall in love there like I believe I may have.
Cons: Leaving!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Magnificent views! The rooms we had with our family of five where rather basic but clean. Decent breakfast. Friendly staff. We had dinner in a nearby little restaurant named ‘Poco Loco’. We can recommend this one!
Cons: Apparently this is a bed and breakfast where breakfast is not always included. Quite silly. Instead of welcoming us after arrival the owner directly told us to pay USD50,- extra if we would like to have breakfast. We were confused, our confirmation said ‘breakfast included’. Turned out to be a misunderstanding but without a ‘sorry’ to us. We didn’t feel very welcome, also due to remarkable rules as ‘swimmingpool only opened from 8am to 4pm’. Our ‘pura vida’ feeling dissappeared for a day. A pity. The property does have a lot of potential.

Pros: Excellent service very clean n staff is friendly n help full! The view is amazing beautiful pool
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Stayed here on our first night in Costa Rica before heading North to Tortuguero. Lovely guesthouse with an amazing view and pool. Breakfast was first class. The whole place feels like you're staying in someones house with lots of privacy. Arrived in the evening in the rain so couldn't use the pool but the morning was beautiful and the gardens are amazing, fresh flowers scattered around the guesthouse too. Oh yeah and if you like the cats there are loads of beautiful cats that love a bit of attention, and a cute dog.
Cons: I wouldn't use their Airport transfer as we had to pay various tips to people holding cards and the driver and it cost €30 but when we returned to San Jose after travelling around we realised Uber is 1/3 of the price so just Uber it when you arrive. Rooms could do with updating but didn't effect us one bit. Lovely place.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Very friendly helpful owners
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Amazing small cozy boutique hotel and friendly stuff

Pros: Amazing place. The staff is very attentive and sweet. Our stay there was wonderful. We will definitely be back.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location was great (if you are by car), it is remoted so it is very quiet. The rooms are spacious, clean and very light (windows everywhere). They have a beautiful garden with some animals. A great terrace with a awesome view. Breakfast is traditional and delicious.
Cons: Nothing.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I am writing a review for the Superior Double Room although originally i booked the suite. The room was comfortable, big, had everything we needed. It was not a suite as we wanted but a great value for money, and wonderful staff! really the best :-) helped us a lot! Very close to Poas volcano,a must see!
Cons: The suite is literally a spider horror house...Above all it is so dangerous,to have so many spiders in the room everywhere! I really wanted the suite, but the many spiders+moldy smell wasn't for us. It was our luck the hotel wasn't full and they helped us a lot by changing the room, but it would be another story if we had nowhere to go... I hope that they took care of the spider problem and no one will get bitten there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We arrived very late becouse of a delayed flight, and the guy waited for us and welcomed us very well! We were starving, after 23 hours of flights, and he got us some pizza and bread sticks to eat in the middle of the night. Overall a great hotel for the first night or two in costa rica, nice breakfast, clean, and the best people!
Cons: We have been 1 night only so there wasnt something we didnt like!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a find! We loved it here. An absolutely wonderful hotel with so many nooks and crannies. Great gardens and stunning view points. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms spacious and welcoming. A ten minute drive to the volcano with numerous eating places around. Quiet and peaceful.,.loved it.
Cons: We didn’t stay there long enough!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Despite the fact the volcano had recently erupted and due to cloudy weather we were unable to get close to the volcano. However, the view from the room was amazing and we spent a long time staring out across the valley with a cup of tea in hand. We experienced some torrential rain but the room was cosy - complete with a fire and lots of fluffy blankets. The garden is huge and our 3 year old enjoyed exploring the paths and seeing the chickens, donkeys, cows and many, many humming birds . We had an amazing home cooked Cost Rican breakfast from the 'dome' from which we could see for miles. The staff are welcoming and kind. We knew in advance that there was only breakfast provided so we brought plenty of our own supplies for lunch and dinner.
Cons: If there was somewhere to warm food in the room it would be perfect!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the whimsical art work and the architecture. I liked the country setting.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: It's a fancy hotel. Definitely five stars+.
Cons: Far from downtown area.
7.9 Good
Pros: The breakfast was very good with wide selection. The location was also very good close to a mall which was handy as the airline lost my bags and I had to source some basic items until they showed up. Staff was very friendly.
Cons: The room I was in was close to the elevator and overlooked the reception area and open bar. The live music was good but very loud. The rooms were starting to show a little age and could be maintained or renovated.

Pros: Everyone was very friendly and helpful, especially Roger. But also Rafael, Ronald at reception and Rodi at security entrance. The cold juice at checkin is a nice touch. The French fries at the attached restaurant are great. The breakfast buffet is generous. The taxi service that picked me up from hotel was also friendly.
Cons: Nothing
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The BREAKFAST is amazing, the staff great. I do wish the water was hotter and that there was a little more attention in the workout room. We stay here everytime. THE TAPAS place next door is GREAT. I LOVE that you don't have little wasteful shampoo and conditioner bottles.
Cons: water not hot enough in the shower.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful art everywhere. Super pleasant staff. Decent bed. The bed is definitely better than many other places we have stayed in Costa Rica. Great location for expats coming in to shop
Cons: The breakfast is not awful but closer to awful than it should be.
7.1 Good
Pros: Tasteful decorum, comfortable beds, good size room, nice pool and bar on the 3rd floor. The breakfast tasted really nice and the coffee is probably the best filter coffee I ever had, but at the breakfast I'd stay away from anything not cooked (I suspect the little cups of fruit and yogurt)
Cons: I got food poisoning at the breakfast at this hotel which basically made me miss an entire day of my vacation. This is the reason why I treated cleanliness very low. The room was very clean though, but the fact that I got food poisoning is unacceptable. Though the staff was attentive no real apology was offered. I had to ask for the room service chicken soup and Coke to be credited off my bill (which they immediately did).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were lovely, close to loads of restaurants, great breakfast with a nice selection and traditional choices as well as continental. The room was big, clean and well equipped. Great hotel would definitely recommend for a sop-over.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The art was very interesting and we would have enjoyed staying for two or three days The staff was very nice, the entire facility is very clean, and the breakfast was very good.
Cons: Shower has low water pressure
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Decor and art work is very upscale, great price, exceptional clean and modern. The bathroom has glassware not paper or plastic cups, blow dryer and nice towels. The coffee for a hotel was phenomenal. The bed was extremely comfortable. Was very quiet, and TV had great chanel options for English speaking and sports. The breakfast was outstanding.
Cons: No transferse available. I needed a transfer. No microwave or bath robe. But didn't need it anyway.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing service, greeted us with fruit juice and snacks. Front desk was so helpful and kind. Will definitely stay here again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was included and the bed was very comfortable.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel; staff was very eager to help. Enjoyed dining in a quiet environment; good food.
7.0 Good
Pros: The food was great, the service was great and the atmosphere and decor were wonderful.
7.9 Good
Pros: We had two nights at the hotel at the tail end of our trip around Costa Rica. The Hotel exudes history and stature and the restaurant is absolutely incredible. everything we ate was exceptional. The staff were also very helpful.
Cons: Given the age of the building the rooms are quite dated and to be honest let the hotel down a little. We had a very small bed that was not overly comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was amazing in the restaurant, though definitely $$$. Loved how comfy the beds were, how super clean it was, loved the service, and really everything was 100%. The staff went out of their way to make sure that when breakfast only opened 30 min before our private transport was due to arrive, that they had everything mad for us quickly for breakfast and it tasted amazing! Had an excellent night of sleep here and they were just the friendliest and the cleanest. Worth it.
Cons: The nuns next door were having a crazy loud party. I was assured this is pretty unusual, and in fact the three other times I’ve stayed, it has been incredibly quiet there. Best sleep in San Jose.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely stuff willing to help with anything The restaurant is really good as well

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was professional, informative and friendly. It was a nice treat to have snacks, cold water, soft drinks and juices available free daily in room. We availed ourselves of spa services. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our needs.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous. I had an amazing hike to see the river and waterfall. Then enjoyed the pool and hot tub. I did some work in the morning on my patio with the most incredible views!
Cons: The ceiling fan worked fine but I prefer air conditioning
9.2 Excellent
Pros: From being greeted on arrival with a fresh fruut juice, to our last morning, the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room had an amazing view over over the largest pool to the lights of San Jose below.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this resort was amazing!! The privacy, the colors and artwork throughout, the comfort of the beds... I loved that they thought about every little detail here. There were things to do on the property in case you got rained in (board games, a small library in your room, etc). The property has it own waterfalls (#5 is definitely worth seeing) and the hike was a great workout! The staff went above and beyond from the day we arrived to the day we left to make everything effect (they called cabs/Ubers for us, packaged breakfast when we let them know we were leaving extra early, etc). We loved the restaurant staff. They were always so happy to assist us. All of the food was amazing although pricey. The spa was AMAZING!!! Do spring for the herbal jacuzzi before a massage!
Cons: If you don’t like nature this may not be for you because it is in the midst of a small tropical forest. That means bugs are around. We did see ants on our bathroom vanity any time we sat lotion or anything up there but nothing else inside the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hike to the waterfalls was my favorite part.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Xandari ticks a lot of boxes, and excels on several levels. Stayed here for one night only, but wish it had been longer. The grounds and expanse of rainforest on your doorstep here are perhaps the most defining features of this relaxing resort and great care and attention has clearly been taken over the years to build up an impressive array of colourful plant life that will have you taking pictures in no time. The resort is spread out over a large area giving an amazing feeling of space and of being immersed in the rainforest. I really enjoyed walking the trails and exploring the numerous waterfalls, making this a great way to spend a few hours. The architecture is particular, and a point of interest in itself, but somehow it blends harmoniously with the surroundings. The rooms are very spacious and well equipped - I had a little kitchenette with a fridge containing complimentary soft drinks - and the views from all over the resort are stunning. Lots of options for cooling off in the hotels three pools (one of which is a cold water pool), but when I was there in the off season there was practically no one in any of them. The restaurant, with its spectacular view, is the perfect place to enjoy a few leisurely hours, as well as lunch or dinner. The food was of a high standard with a range of choice to keep everybody happy. I found everyone to be super friendly and helpful which creates a very welcoming atmosphere in the hotel. I would have no hesitation in staying at Xandari again, and given its proximity to the airport it makes the ideal stopping off hotel at either the beginning or end of a trip to Costa Rica.
Cons: Liked everything.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed several amenities at this property including the botanical gardens, hiking trails to waterfalls, and the pools and jacuzzis. The staff were welcoming and accommodated our need to check out early with breakfast boxes of fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, and homemade baked goods. The room was spacious, had a porch overlooking the jungle and nearby city, and had a kitchenette stocked with useful kitchenware and complimentary snacks.
Cons: We did not partake in the spa services as originally planned because of the expense compared to other options in Costa Rica. While the restaurant food was delicious, it was also very expensive which could be challenging if staying at the property for several days.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfasts were delicious, beautifully plated, with a variety of choices. The covered, but open air seating area for breakfast created the perfect ambience for our first few days in Costa Rica. We also had dinner one night which Laurie, the owner prepared. It was gourmet! She also went out of her way to make sure everything about our stay was perfect, y arranging a tour and also taxis when we needed them. Her housekeeper, Miriam, was also wonderful and always smiling.
Cons: We liked everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: So friendly People, you feels like at home with your family. And so beautiful House!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Laurie is a fantastic and caring hostess. She goes out of her way to be helpful... She even arranged a rental car for us at a better rate then we could find online. She arranged a ride for my son, who came in a few days after us, to meet us at Carara National Park. Oh, and her place is convenient to the airport and a very nice place to stay as well. You can't go wrong staying here if your plans require a place near the airport upon arrival or departure or if you're staying in the San Jose area.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Laurie goes out of his way to be helpful and is a pleasure to deal with! Would stay there again in a heartbeat!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good location with excellent staff. Perfect for our stay night of arrival and night before departure from San Jose. Also great help in organizing driver and dinner for family.
Cons: Just perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Laurie was an amazing hostess and the house was an architectural delight. Laurie and Miriam are great cooks and I am still savoring the incredible omelet filled with asparagus and other veggies melded with cheese that they prepared. One of the things I liked best were all of the wonderful guests and friends that dropped by. Laurie made us all feel like we were part of her extended family home for the holidays!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Laurie, Victor and Miriam literally welcomed us to Cariari B &B with open arms, so arriving there was like coming home. Cariari B &B is conveniently near the airport but with very little noise.p and all of the amenities. We'd had a tiring trip getting there so we requested Quesadillas for dinner, which were amazing and stacked with chicken, tomatoes and avocados. Miriam also fixed a number of extras along with dessert. We returned on the last night of our trip and had a wonderful Sea bass dinner with many side dishes and dessert. The breakfast was unbelievable...too many wonderful foods and fruits to mention and they even catered to our daughter's Celiac needs. All meals as well as wine or beer were at very reasonable prices and lovely when we were so tired and didn’t want to go out. We had six year old twin boys (picky eaters) and they were treated like kings. They loved Penny The dog and Chloe the cat. Laurie's house is lovely with wonderful sitting area plus an upper outside deck for drinks. Our rooms during both stays were terrific with great bathrooms. We were so sorry to have to leave too early for breakfast our last morning but Miriam kindly got up to serve us banana bread, gluten-free bagels and coffee to go. Laurie was wonderful in adavance of our visit as well as when we were there, arranging great drivers to and from the airport, as well as for our traveling all over Costa Rica. She's a gem and someone you have to meet...and experience! She's a former actress and a natural born hostess, as well as being my new “best friend”. Also a bonus of staying there is meeting other interesting guests. Staying at Cariari B & B is a true pleasure and we'd return in a minute.
Cons: We liked everything except having to leave too early for another of Miriam's fabulous breakfast!

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Ok so the staff is so nice but room 414 had little to no water pressure and trickle of hot water...... I asked the front to change rooms but because they were full no possible.... So sucked it up and took Luke warm shower for two days.... Manager said he would comp a dinner at hotel eatery .... Didn't happen and no one seemed to know how it would work. Bed was comfortable location is great for San Jose . My best advice to anyone staying in Costa Rica is get out of San Jose and see the countryside unless u want to be in New York meets Tijuana
Cons: Staff is super nice Breakfast is great Bed was comfortable Location is superb although good luck finding the entrance of you drive in from airport alow 2 hrs for 10km No kidding Traffic is something out of a comic book u will understand if you see it first hand Costa Ricans in general are so nice honest and hard working people enjoy
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Save your money and spend it somewhere else it smelled bad the people were rude we paid extra for upgrade the AC did not work breakfast was late the shuttle to airport was late. It was supposed to be free but cost 30.00 I'm trying to find something good to say about it Sorry I can't .

Pros: Location location location! Couldn't have been in a better location. So close to all the tourist spots and good restaurants. San Jose is surprisingly a great city to explore on foot. It certainly has its gems. The staff at the hotel was AMAZING and super friendly and helpful. The included breakfast on the top floor was certainly a treat each morning.

Cons: I don't really have any complaints.
7.1 Good
Pros: location was ok
Cons: the menu was rather limited, not much of a vegetarian or vegan selection. Gluten free bread was not a possibility. Mini bar empty except for coffee or still water

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was awesome and the team was nice and helpful.
Cons: nothing that I can think of.
7.7 Good
Pros: Awesome location, right in the heart of San Jose. Walking distance to the major downtown sights, like the theatres, cathedrals, and markets. The restaurant is great, and the lobby is well kept.
Cons: Rooms are run down, and not in the best condition. We had to change rooms because of bugs in the first. AC would have been nice.

Pros: Absolutely breathtaking views. By far the best place to stay when visiting the volcano. The couple that runs the lodge is amazing. Super friendly, very welcoming (thank you guys so much!!!) and the food they make is delicious!
Cons: They place has improved even more since the new owners took over.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay at Mathew and Leah's Lodge. The view from the rooms is just stunning. Breakfast is included and you should also try dinner in the evening. Leah will prepare some delicious meals for you. You will love the authentic fire place, it's cosy and warm while you can enjoy the magnificent view over the valley. The lodge is a perfect place to stay if you're going to visit the La Paz Waterfall Gardens and visit the Póas volcano. Mathew informs you on the visibility on top of the Póas crater. He can also arrange entrance tickets to the Volcano park (you need to book online in advanc!). We sure recommanded a stay at the lodge!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Matthew and Leah were lovely hosts, very welcoming. Leah is a great cook as well. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent, try the Costa Rican dishes. Amazing views and really close to the volcano.
Cons: Nothing.
7.9 Good
Pros: Poas Lodge is a cozy place, practically furnished and clean. Very hospitable "GrazyGringos" Matthew & Leah, the Texan Hambuger diner we can only recommend. If you want to visit Vulcano Poas we can only recommend this lodge, with a great view of the San Jose plain. Matthew gave us some very useful tips for getting to Vulcano Poas, which we were able to enjoy with great weather. Gladly again

Pros: Breakfast was great. View is incredible. Matthew and Leah were great hosts. Very personable and made great conversation. Very accommodating with any requests we had. The location is great for visiting Poas Volcano.
Cons: Everything was great for our stay. Nothing was out of place or missing.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location, beautiful views, staff was incredibly helpful
Cons: The bed was squeaky, it played into the whole, "rustic" experience, but could be improved, and I believe the owners are aware of this.
7.5 Good
Pros: Fantastic view. Owners give you a warm welcome and holiday feeling. Nice food/menu. Close to NP
Cons: When arriving at the Poas the building looks a bit sad. Rooms are somewhat old-fashioned.

Pros: We arrived in a full rainstorm after 8pm but were able to find some lovely local food at a bar recommended by Jan nearby which was still open and going strong (a rarity in Costa Rica for that time in the evening from our experience). The sublime breakfast was the best we had in Costa Rica. The garden is a genuine Eden which we admired from a hammock for hours. The little touches were all there in this taste of paradise so we didn’t end up exploring Atenas (from our drive through we felt Eden was a better option). Nice to have a warm greeting and hug from your friendly dogs! Thank you so much for the most fantastic end to our travels.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: such a beautiful piece of earth. breakfast was delicious and the garden and terrace are like paradies. you feel like you are surrounded by nature, listening to all kind of animals and observing hummingbirds. Thank you!
7.9 Good
Pros: Such a beautiful property with nature all around. The owners were friendly and willing to help. The booking.com description was a little mixed up when we arrived it said we had a kitchen and a view with private entrance and when we came it was not what we thought, but the owners gave us a different room that fit the description and more of what we thought. I think the problem lies with booking.com mixing pictures up with different rooms. They were accommodating and fixed the problem. Jan could a breakfast fit for royalty. I felt bad because I got full to quick, but wanted to keep eating. The grounds are breathtaking however it is not the quietest neighborhood on the weekends. Not sure if it is every weekend but the neighbors had a three-four hour band practice next door and it’s not the best recipe to rest and relax. Not the property’s fault but something to note. All in all we were happy with the place. My biggest suggestion would be to get a buzzer or something at the gate. We had a car with us and in order to get in you have to honk for them to let you in but sometimes whatever is going on noise wise around where the owners are it is hard for them to hear us honking for them to open the gate and when we tried to call the property the phone number went to voicemail. We never game back very late but if you wanted to come back really late i would just feel bad honking and waking up the owners and also the neighbors if we did choose to go out late for the night. We did enjoy our stay and appreciated the hospitality.
Cons: The gate situation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful tropical setting close to the amenities of Atenas. The hosts were incredible. The breakfasts were fabulous! The facility was amazing. We could not have picked a better place in all of Costa Rica.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely beautiful setting and grounds! Hosts were wonderful and the breakfasts were incredible! Transport they set up from the airport was convenient and he was so kind and professional.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is intimate, the gardens are gorgeous, there are terraces and balconies to enjoy the perfect weather. Breakfast was SUPERB, both the owners and their dogs are super friendly, we loved it!
Cons: Connecting to the wifi took a little help
7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely gardens, breakfast was lovely
Cons: Very noisy dogs compared to other properties that we stayed at, I’m writing having returned from 2 weeks in Costa Rica travelling around. Owner had a terrible cough which I guess can’t be helped but it was audible throughout the night...

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Awesome views from the room. We had the Master Suite which is very spacious and come with a giant balcony. The pools were also very nice. Having a car makes it easier to explore the area - in fact, most people (including us) who stayed there used this as the first or last hotel on Costa Rica excursions. There are several highways to travel between hotel and airport, so even with heavy traffic on one of them, there are backup options to reach it in time.
Cons: The bed in the Master Suite really is a queen size bed. Its style nicely fits with the rest of the interior fitting, but I wouldn t have minded a slightly larger king size bed.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed the views, amenities and courteous staff (including Fritz).
Cons: Bathtowels were small and stiff. Noisy nature surrounding the property but closing the windows and using earplugs combatted this minor inconvenience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The setting is extraordinarily magnificent The villa is grand, but very comfortable . Breakfast was great. Staff super Very relaxed and Eden-like vegetation overlooking valley. Many outstanding spots on, in, and around the building and grounds for reading, writing, meditation, etc Exceptional villa.
Cons: Coffee was nice, but could be a bit stronger
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Great for a stop over in SJ before taking the plane back, very close to the airport and the highway to hit the south pacific beaches. Staff are lovely and it really feels like a fantastic home shared with the guests.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property in every way overlooking San Jose, the surrounding hills and coffee farms.
Cons: Our room on first floor a little tight for 2. Would have liked balcony or sitting area. I believe upper floor rooms have.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great position in Atenas, in the Hills, overlooking Valle Central, 30 min from airport. Very good facilities, nice pool, courteous staff. Great place to relax prior or after flight. We stayed just one night, but could have easily been longer, good breakfast. We stayed over the Easter weekend and the restaurant had very limited options, but still managed to get something together for us. Owners Mark and wife were in the hotel when we arrived, charming Québécois!
Cons: Nothing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff was wonderful and incredibly helpful during our stay. The pool and the hotel is beautiful.
Cons: The restaurant was closed and the jacuzzi was broken both of the nights we were there. Fortunately, the staff helped us find something very good within walking distance.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was so tasty and the staff were so so friendly!

Pros: Lovely hotel with great views of a beautiful Canyon. The staff is very attentive and helpful. My daughter enjoyed highly the pool and popcorn in the salon.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was our first trip to Costa Rica and had no idea what we should expect. We selected this hotel due to its location, being close to University for Peace. We were so pleased with our decision! The owners and staff took every step possible to make certain we were comfortable, listening to our comments and attending to our every want without us needing to even ask. Perhaps most noticeable was how CLEAN the property was. I have stayed in higher priced national chains that were not cared for so well! Every area that I visited was spotless: our rooms, the salon, patio, walkways, and pool area! Finally, their breakfast was incredible, highlighting local cuisine. Kudos to the owners for providing their guests such high level of comfort, cleanliness, and care!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Eleazar was so welcoming. The view is breathtaking with wonderful seating options. The breakfast tamales were delicious!
Cons: The room was small but well-equipped.

Pros: It's a nice hotel with good facilites and friendly staff. The dinner and breakfast in the restaurant was very yummy and of good quality. Especially the breakfast is worth it since you can order your own custom omelette and get a great choice of fruits. The check-in was also really fast >1 minute.
