The ants in the room!!!!!The swimming pool was very dirty. The childrens pool should not of been open to the public because of Black Algae!!!!
Outdoor pool was fantastic, proximity to the beach, excellent breakfasts No tea/coffee making facilities in the room Extra charge for the sauna/steam room
Patient staff, amazing lobby leading into beautiful gardens, breakfast selection, secure access to beach
We were there during the off season with only a few people. It was marvelous. The decor in the lobbies is beautiful being filled with green plants, even olive trees. The garden and pool area is just stunning. The food was good. We were surprised to find eggs available at the breakfast buffet, which is unusual in Spain. The coffee at breakfast was mediocre.
the swiming poll wasn't very clean.
Room was nicely decorated and equipped; a la carte food; next to beach; staff were pleasant; overall good value for money Food a bit pricey
The hotel, gardens and pool area are attractive, well contructed and well maintained. Beach great for long walks. Free Wifi. Very dissapointed that hotel attempted to charge 25% higher room rate upon arrival due to the age of one child. Attitude of reception staff and managment very dissapointing. Was a very bad start to the 5 night stay. Food quality in restaurant not good. For size of hotel the restaurant was over crowded, even in September. Spa more or less useless. Drinks far too expensive. Elavators overcrowded. Parking too expensive.
hotel was in a beautiful location, everything was very formal. No entertainment of any sort. staff had no idea how to deal with non english speaking people
Good golf facilities and nice setting. Friendly staff. Good breakfast buffet. As it was low season, restaurant menu was very limited and there was no buffet available on 3 of the 4 evenings. Indoor pool was very small and not worth using.
Room was good and clean, breakfast with a lot of choice and excelent location.
Friendly and professionel staff. Nicely decorated rooms. Dirty under the beds... We couldnt get interconnecting rooms even if we knew they were available.
It was quiet, relax atmosphere and the room was spacious. There wasn't information about the restaurant menu, times, internet, local area, useful contact numbers... and hotel facilities in the room.Staff wasn't experienced and they seem to be new recruits. No free newspaper availability(national or international). You could buy them from the convenient shop at the hotel. I missed certain local food from the buffet breakfast, more choice of fruits and it was salamy,chorizo,cheese...but no Spanish jabugo ham!!!.The air conditioning of the room didn't cool enough the room.It makes more noise than real air conditioning. If you open the balcony door it won't work. They inform you abou this but they don't inform you about other hotel facilities except for the lesson with the golf trainer in some brochures displayed at the hotel. There is no trace of the bell boy.
Clean, efficient, great golf and very nice touristic area
The weather and the food. Uncomfortable bed! Poor driving range. Only 18 out of 27 holes were open, so restricted golf.
Good place No doctor in the hotel. My girlfriend didn't fell good and the receptionist told me he could not call a doctor because too late (7 PM!) and to wait on next day or to drive her to the town. In my opinion it's more important to provide this kind of service rather than a free navetta for the beach, in particular for a 4* Hotel
Rooms very hot as heating/air con system was turned off.
We're non-golfers and were therefore in a minority but not made to feel so. Very quiet and peaceful hotel, perfect for a short break out of season. Excellent quality evening buffet.
The breakfast buffet and evening buffet offered a wide range of well cooked food. Service was excellent. All staff were cheerful and helpful. Golf course is a fair challenge but we preferred hoyos 10 - 27 No
hotel and grounds were immaculate, beautiful setting
good overall hotel. would say staff friendly and helpful. breakfast very good and varied choice.room reasonable. rooms ready for a little updating. also the bathrooms are a little dated and no bidet. but comfortable, think the category should be closer to 3 star than 4.good family hotel.
The food was of a high standard, with wide choice, late meal available on arrival. The Bathroom let down the standard of the Hotel, small with no bidet, and fixtures badly located,(i.e. Towel Rail and Toilet roll holder.)Difficulty in getting into the bath to use the shower due to the height of the side of the bath. In short a dated bathroom of 3 star standard.
We have stayed here before so it was a deliberate choice to return. The beds are fantastically comfortable and the evening buffet is excellent. We really like this Hotel. The staff this visit were even more accommodating than before.
scenery, location lack of english tv channels
Very comfortabel hotel, friendly staff. Breakfast and Buffet are exellent !
the surroundings are fabulous, the hotel has a nice architecture, i like the ecological priciples. service of the restaurante too noisy .
The hotel was very good and I can't complain on anything. The location is very good and it was quiet during my stay there. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The food could be a bit better.
it is an absolutely gorgeous facility in a beautiful setting. breakfast is amazing as well as the evening buffet--if it's not there, they will make it!
Half board option with excellent wine and beer included Nothing
Great value for money. Attencious staff. Wonderfull breakfast. The "private" island was perfect in this time of year.
Hotel is great to relax rest and forget about everything is perfect. Wonderful beach and very nice sourrounding of the hotel.
beutiful building, unique surroundings inside pool not open 24 hrs
Location is superb, not in a highrise block very tasteful next to national park perfect for the quite holiday off season, great golf nearby, long walks and loads of wildlife
We loved the location which is really picturesque- we liked the fact that there were restaurants and bars 2 minutes walk away. The hotel itself is lovely and the pool area is fabulous with beautiful views. The swimming pool was a pleasure to swim in. Our room had a good sized terrace - again with lovely views over the estuary and swimming pool. I had mentioned it was our 20th wedding anniversary and they put 2 small bottles of cava in our room which was a really nice touch. The outside bar area is a really relaxing area to sit and have a few drinks in the evening. All in all a really good find. We are not keen on buffet dinners - as we stayed late September the other 2 outside restaurants were closed. However, the standard of food was very good but we prefer a la carte dining.
The lifts were unbearably slow, full of people and one was often out of use.
the pool area
Right in front of the beach, very close to some shops and restaurants, great swimming pool. The swimming pool inside the hotel has no chairs or beds. Towels or clothes have to be left on the floor!
Location. Facilities for disabled. International buffet breakfast menu. Poorly cleaned bathroom facilities despite having unbroken "hygene seal" on toilet. Floor unwashed.
It was good value for money (except the costs of having a drink)drinks are available for half the price in the local bars no waiter service particularly round the pool I would recommend your hotel but not for more than a 2 or 3 night stay because of the price of drinks and the poor waiter service
The quality of the downstairs facilities and the pool area and its closeness to the beautiful beach. Also brilliant breakfast selections. The evening entertainment was rather dull.
Spaaanish environment, dpainish people and staff in a spanish tow: a very interesting and enjoyable experience.
Clean room, breakfest
Proximity to beach. Good pool The spa staff were not up to the job and appeared not interested. Very poor English spoken.
The hotel is modern and efficient ,the staff are courteous and helpful , the range and standard of food is excellent particularly the sushi.
I liked everything no
Efficiently run, modern hotel in good location at beachside. Was on a room only basis for a short business trip so I cant comment on food. Very nice looking asian style spa and excellent outdoor pool.
Very confortable hotel and very nice service/rate! Very recommended!
very friendly staff
Well situated between the town of Ayamonte and Isla Canela beach ( 5 minutes by car to each) Bar and food service very slow
Peace and quiet. Not particularly well signposted, entrance off a roundabout difficult to see.
Nice hotel, good standard and level of comfort Breakfast too expensive - €15 each. Walls thin (can hear the next room).
I do not think that this is a 5 star hotel, more like 4 star. This is the second time we have stayed here and it is very much aimed at the golf market.
Quietness of hotel location
The location is excellent and very peaceful, the staff are very polite and helpful. The bar area is usually unstaffed and you have to wait a while for somebody to appear, if the reception staff see you waiting, they will call a member of staff to serve you!, there seems to be no management at the hotel, just kind staff, I dont know who Mr. Big is, but personally, if he worked for me, I`d dismiss him for not being obvious in his role as manager!.
I liked the beds, that were very good. At night is was quiet. I did not like the poor state of repair of the bathrooom. I also did not like the poor quality of tv reception.
All the staff were most helpful and looked happy. The room and beds were very comfortable. The restaurant offered excellent food albeit no a la carte. We were ground floor and there were ants around. (Solved by buying ant spray!)
We like the position of this Parador, and the bathroom, and the excellent breakfast, and the service. We did not like the high price of evening dinner - too expensive.
We loved the views from the hotel and discovering the countryside with the Donana National Park and birdwatching - fabulous. It was a nice busy hotel atmosphere and the afternoon tea and cakes was very good. Plus good service.
it was relaxing and peaceful and the staff were friendly and very efficient breakfast was good but dinner was not very good
Room space, the breakfast, the cleaniless and the staff.......they were very friendly . We had our 7 year old son with us.. Although there was a small playground.... the surroundings were designed more for adults to sit round ,relax and read a book etc.
It was very nice to be up graded to a superior room with a lovely balcony and view of the river and Portugal. The breakfast was excellent and included in the price. The air conditioning did not work and it was very hot.
Clean, nice location, excellent breakfast buffet. The room was spacious, with balcony and very nice view to the river. Quiet. Absolutely recommended.
great location, wonderful hotel with perfect rooms. breakfast was excellent historical places next the hotel are private and closed to public use
I've stayed at this Parador before and the staff are always helpful and even the standard rooms are very clean and comfortable. Quite a good base to operate from when covering Huelva Province and the border region of the Algarve. Initially I stayed 3 nights (included a 1 night extension to the booking & on my return journey booked into the Parador again as the best available hotel. This Parador is one of the simple ones but maintains the appropriate standard hence you get exactly what you pay for... I've never had to complain and if an item of equipment has failed it has been repaired on request.
The hotel exceeded my expectations. The view from the balcony over Ayamonte was stunning. The bedroom was spacious and very comfortable. There is a feeling of space throughout the whole hotel. It was very clean and tidy. Breakfast was excellent. I would certainly recommend this hotel. Nothing.
Service and quality of food
The proximity to the beach and the location of our room, offering a magnificent beach view. I found the buffet very poor, in relation to the breakfast and dinner. There was hardly any choice and many dishes were repeated. I was extremely disappointed. I also found a staff member of the housekeeping department using the same elevator as used by guests to transport the cleaning cart. Coming from the Hotel business, this is not acceptable for a 4* Hotel.
enjoyed staying very much. Staff were excellent. The rooms were spacious and clean. Facilities for families were very good also. Loved the spa.
Very spacious and excellent room and bathroom, very close to the beach. Comfortable beds. Very rich buffet breakfast; altough the choice was the same all the days, there was a lot to choose from. Very helpful the staff at the reception. It is a family hotel, full of screaming children at all the hours of the day and of the night (!) and their mothers screaming even more (despite we were there at the end of September), tourists in shorts. If you are searching for a romantic holiday, you risk to be disappointed.
Food was good. staff presence sometimes lacking, difficult to find facilities, need more signage or better information on arrival, cleanliness could be improved.
The size of the rooms were excellent the views of the beach were also excellent. The show cooking was very good. Sara the receptionist was particularly helpful. The dining was changed from buffet to A la carte and there was not enough choice for us and the menu was the same every night maybe because the hotel was empty this was in February. We found a couple of the staff in the restaurant quite rude.
Lovely rural setting just south of Lepe. La Antilla within easy reach with car. Plenty of parking-space at the hotel. Helpful staff in spite of the lack of english, but with finger language and a fraze-book we had no trouble.
The character of the premises and the rustic theme.Good car parking facilities Dining room closed for 3 days due to a local festival.
We arrived at 00.30. No problem with late check in. Large comfortable room, beautiful bathroom. Staff very helpful
Excellent service which meant for a calm peaceful stay.
Good location and it was clean. The room had a strong smell at first which was not pleasant. Opened windows and it disappeared.
Great peaceful location in a rural setting but just a few minutes by car to the beach / into town. Friendly staff. Roomy hotel with a nice pool. Breakfast mostly the same but fine for 2 or 3 days. Fridge in room. The hotel has a splendid terrace next to the dining room and pool but you are not allowed to have your breakfast your lunch there, which meant sitting in articial light when the day was glorious outside.
Large spacious room. Located centrally in Ayamonte Very noisy hotel. Hard surfaces in corridors amplified sound. Doors to the rooms did not keep our noise.
Excellent position. Although no car park we had no problem parking outside. There were plenty of restaurants within easy distance, and easy to visit the portuguese Algarve. The room was very basic, with quite narrow beds.
Good location for Ayamonte centre
Location was good The room was extremley basic and was sold to me as a double when in fact it was a twin,no hot water in shower, very dated.
Very helpful and friendly reception staff. Very good value for money In need of re-decoration. Very poor breakfast. Some fruit would have been nice. Beds very hard.
Very pleasant staff. The hotel is very centrally located and reasonably priced. Our room decor a little dated but very clean and comfortable No
The hotel was very close to the marina / beaches and the ferry which takes you across to portugal. Littl Zoo next to the hotel. Nice large rooms with balcony and large bathrooms. Nice breakfast. Can be a little cold in the rooms - make sure you take the extra blanket out of the wardrobe.
good breakfast location to town centre
Nice ocean view from balcony :) Realy great location. As it was no a travel season, the breakfast was poor.
Very good location. Right at the beach. Breakfast for only 2,20€ per person. late check-in. Nice staff. free parking. not easy to find. was kind of hidden! we had two single beds instead of one big bed. it was a very stormy night and the doors of the balcony did not close completely. some of the rain came in the room. Heating system was working but not full power. We had to use 3 blankets.
Seaview is fantastic, good bed restaurant closed for dinner during wintertime
The hotel was closed - apart from the access to the room. Could get nothing else
Location was perfect, on the beach and quiet promenade. Nice board-walk to town Very noisy room due to compressor noise from bar area below. Breakfast was very basic, staff indifferent and no coffee offered.
