Great location, our room had a great view, staff was most helpful, meals were excellent, wine was fantastic. parking was somewhat of a problem
staff was willing to provide a basilica view after discussion, the breakfast choices were abundant, perfect location rooms a bit on the small side
The helpful staff, the proximity to the basilca, the breakfast.
St. Francesco hotel has a desirable location close to the St. Francis Basilica. The staff is friendly. Be aware that you will need to climb a steep hill to the hotel. Taxis are available.
I loved the location near the beautiful cathedral and the comfortable roon for a 5 persons family
Receptionists very courteous
It was close to the basilica and most of the shops and restaurants we visited.
Good location. Tiny rooms.
comfort and facilities no
The location is excellent. The shower in the bathroom.
The staff was great and the dining room personell were great.
Great central location
The facilities in the room were all new and clean. They did not provide me with a parking place near the hotel. In fact this parking is not at all convenient : you need to go up the hill to reach it and then up and down the hill all around the town to leave it because there are works nearby. It is quite dangerous if you are not a mount racer. It is more convenient to use the big parking below for payment and another hotel to visit Assisi
View from the room was fabulous. Make sure to book a room with a .valley view
Excellent location in Assisi with parking.
The hotel is beautifully refurbished, the staff were excellent, the aspect was utterly beautiful. It is very comfortable and clean. I loved being there. The atmosphere was very good. The cost was very good. At this time, Hotel Giotto would be my first choice when visiting Assisi. I will happily recommend it to all those I know. Had dinner one evening in the Hotel Restaurant. The food was poorly cooked, they took a ridiculously long time to serve us and to present us with the food we had ordered, even though we were the first to arrive that evening. When we complained, they tried to justify themselves, but the waiter who served us (whom we do not blame for this) was courteous and would not charge us for the meal.
The view was wonderful. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable with good bed linen and the bathroom was nice with good towels. The TV had BBC world which was handy. There was a wonderful lounge area with comfortable leather sofas where one could relax with a book and enjoy spectacular views all around. There was one very helpful staff member on reception but unfortunately we can't remember his name but think it began with either G or J. Instead of a full a la carte menu being available we were told only two starters and two main courses were available - both of which were meat and I don't eat meat. We were not told this when we made a dinner reservation and were only told when we sat down to eat. We believe this was due to an American tour group staying at the hotel and ordinary guests took second place. It ruined our last meal in Italy. We had no bathrobes in either room and some of the little extra products were missing from one of our rooms but were in the other room. At breakfast the dining room was very very cold and the breakfast was basic. Tea and Coffee were from a machine and so you had to keep going back for another cup. A coffee pot or tea pot would be better.
Located just inside the city gate, It was convenient to drive to, in a very confusing area of Italy. It was also located very close to the Church and tomb of St. Francis. Great views, nice clean room. Excellent olive oil products in the bathroom. They have a lovely lobby with great views, personal service, and inexpensive Wi-Fi. Breakfast was second rate - I had hot chocolate with breakfast because I didn't like the coffee (to be polite). Breakfast bread was just okay.
I have stay at this hotel twice before and love it. The location is right inside one of the city gates and it has its own parking. The view over the Umbrian plain is gorgeous and the flights of swallows and swifts fascinating.
Very, very clean. Especially the bathroom. Alessandro and Camillo at the front desk were wonderfully helpful! Breakfast was very good with plenty of food choices. The room was not very sound proof. Don't know if that is a problem with the other rooms.
Very cool spot, modern in the middle of ancient.
Very clean, great location, friendly proprietor
Fabulous...great location, beautiful hotel, great staff...very friendly and helpful. I got a little hot in the middle of the night I think our ac was inadvertantly turne off...but it wasn't too bad.
Wonderful location in the heart of old Assisi with a great view over the valley from teh bedroom window.. Parking across the road from the hotel. Modern room with flat screen LCR TV. Excellent restaurant connected to the hotel. The concierge really cared about you. Enter the town through the San Franciscan Gate and finding the hotel is easy. Try it any other way and you are doomed to a frustrating time finding the place.
Location was perfect - could walk everywhere. Best thing was the parking. The room was a decent size and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable with wonderful linens. The bathroom was fine but the shower had no water pressure or volume - it was only a trickle and we had to hold the diverter the entire time.
the position of this hotel is very good. Our room with a view was wonderful.
The view was spectacular, the staff was helpful and kind. The buffet breakfast was OK, compared to the coffee+cookie style italian breakfasts.
Great location and view from room The breakfast was not that good .Keep it simple and good quality
Central location, willingness of restaurant staff to serve us dinner even though we arrived after closing time Lack of attention from reception staff. Confusion over car parking arrangements and costs.
Excellent, enthusiastic staff, good location Beds could be better.
The hotel staff were so helpful and accomodating - certainly a plus for a hotel. The rooms were a nice size, nicely decorated with very nice bathrooms. The view of the valley was beautiful. Dining was a pleasure - the breakfast was very nice, and dinner at the hotel was excellent. We would definitely like to stay again but for a longer time.
staff very attentive and helpful, the hotel is very cozy, comfortable, and the temperature inside was perfect, great breakfast, location wise was well located, a couple of blocks up from the entrance to the city.
We liked it all: the whole building is gorgeous, the service was warm, the hotel was all very clean; very easy to arrive. Internet access was ok. Conveniently located between the upper and the lower Assisi. Price-offering relationship was ok. When we go back with Assisi, we will for sure come back to Ora Cenacolo. Coffee could have been better, I mean, italian standard.
The only good things I can say about this hotel the location and views of Assisi and the large size of the rooms. Everything made for a bad stay. The hotel seems to be all about "form". The substance of how things work and comfort have been missed. The room lighting is inadequate for reading and the bathrooms, while large, have tile floors that get quite slippery when wet. a large tour bus was there on our visit and at breakfast the group consumed all of the warm food and emptied juice and coffee dispensers. My biggest complaint was for the staff. If I mentioned a concern or complaint I was met with indifference and a shrug. This was one of my poorest hotel experiences in all of my European travels. be aware !!
manager very abbrupt, walked us to our room as you'd walk cattle. I didn't like anything about the hotel. Should be one star, not 3.
The hotel was in great location, very clean, great breakfast and easy to find with our gps!1
Easy to access, excellent location, cozy, nice atmosphere.
an excellent hotel for the price. right at the old city gates, with a bus right across the road. quite location and helpful friendly staff.
This hotel is situated in excellent position,we had no view as we were in a back room, but with car parking free and it being only a very short walk into the old town it is the perfect location.
This hotel is perfect if driving to Siena. It has excellent access into the heart of Siena by foot or city bus. The views are beautifull. the staff are extremely helpfull and curtious.
Great location, right on the bus line. Comfortable room and very helpful staff. Great breakfast buffet.
The hotel is in a great location to explore Assisi.
It's location right at the main entrance gate to Assisi and that it had parking The website does not give it justice. It's much better than the website describes it to be.
The location was just outside the city gates and the hotel offered free parking. Night manager was a aloof.
Excellent room and furnishing, view, air-conditioning Room got hot during the day
Maybe they forgot to charge us for internet, but it was only one place in Italy where we did not have to pay for internet. Breakfast was poor.
It was too far from the centre of Assisi. The infomation given leads you to believe it is within walking distance and it certainly is not.
It is confortable Yes, the night employee (an elderly man) is very rude !!!!!!
Care of the staff
Managemant were courteous, rooms large and air conditioned, and the meals were a very pleasant surprise, amongst the best we had after two weeks holiday
The restaurant is excellent, with extremely good and very well priced food. The staff were extremely welcoming & helpful. It felt that there was a very personal touch to our stay. We would use the hotel again. I wasn't very happy with the bedding on the children's cot. A simple child size duvet & pillow in the cot would have been better.
The hotel's location is very good and near to most touristic attractions. Breakfast was good and room clean. If I really had to criticize I would say that even if breakfast was abundant and there was a good choice, some slices of ham together with the salami would have made the choice wider.
The staff were very friendly and the room was large and comfortable. The distance away from Santa Maria dell'Angelo and Assisi is further than you think so you have to drive, and then parking is a problem.
Location to Assisi town no
The view from our room was outstanding...very pretty and relaxing. The air conditioning did not cool the room. It was placed under the table and it did not circulate throughout the room. Therefore, I would not recommend this hotel for the summer months.
Lovely hotel - nice room with balcony and splendid view - exellent swimmingpool - 15 min. walking to towncenter - good restaurant and friendly staff
Staff were friendly, but restaurant is in basement, food only so-so, and not good value. We ate there the night we arrived for convenience, but never again. Pool and surrounds good. Wi-fi was promisd for the rooms and lobby, but was not available, We were allowed to use a hotel computer to check emails, but annoyed about this. See above. Very poor arrangement for resaurant, andno wi-fi as shown on hotel website.
Our room had a patio in front with a view of the valley below Assisi. A ten to 15 minute walk to the city.
The personal service, picturesque location and swimming pool area.
Hotel staff were helpful and efficient; the room was very clean with a good bathroom; breakfast was included and was excellent. We had direct access through french doors from our room on to a large terrace with a beautiful view overlooking the Assisi valley. We would have appreciated having wifi access in our room.
Very quiet, clean and people were helpful No
The room was a little cramped but clean. outside surroundings of gardens and crystal clear pool very pleasant
We liked the view from the room. Beautiful and excellent view on the valley of Toscany. We appreciated the big balcony with table. We spent and excelent moment in the swiming pool. We prefered this hotel because it's outside the the Assisi but not far (on kilometer by walk). We were in the calm and nature. Great hotel.
Excellent view of the Umbrian plain from the terrace. You should ask a room with a terrace. Pool and play area for children. Our room had a terrace but the space was very small.
everything was fine unfortunately hotels in Italy are a little bit expensive
I recommend Dal Moro gallery Hotel to anyone . It's hip clean and looks like a scandinavian minimal hotel with a view from your room of the local square. It's close to Assisi but you don't have to worry about parking.. the local coffee shop in front of the hotel i excellent and cheap. The staff deserve a standing ovation The pool is more like a jacussi.. Too many sugary food at breakfast
A wonderful place near Assisi. New, modern and very helpful staff.
Convenient, quiet area, felt at ease, relaxed atmosphere, clean and bright, comfortable, staff very plesant. Can't think of any.
Excellent and friendly staff. Good and clean rooms and and safe parking. Good restaurant with helpful waiter at reasonable prices. Location is perfect, you can easily visit Assisi, Highly recommended and good price value.
Very good feeling, small hotel, free parking-garage, clean room, beautiful position near the Chiesa Santa Maria del angeli, and not so far from Asisi centar. Everything its Ok better then other hotel in Italy
Great Service and location
Excellent hotel. Full size modern room with balcony. Large bathroom with real overhead shower & sliding doors. Hairdryer and toiletries. Best breakfast service I`ve had. Friendly competent staff. Walking distance from RR sta. and half block from bus up to Assisi. No. Fine hotel. I had double room for single use.
It only takes 5 minutes by walk from the railway station. The hotel has a big lobby and is stylish and nice. The staffs were kind. Breakfast could be better, maybe with some warm vegetables and eggs. The price was a little bit expensive.
An excellent, modern hotel with friendly and helpful staff, all of whom seemed to have a great sense of humour. Our room was light airy and spotless. An added bonus was that we fell in with a group of Irish pilgrims, so entertainment was also provided, in the form of a communal sing,
the hotel is brand new resort facility with nice, spacious room and breakfast is outstanding with fresh squeezed orange juice and exquisite espresso machine. even though it was high season, it was good deal for the money
The place of the hotel is quite pleasant notwithstanding some details of an industrial landscape around. The design is rather stylish, a nice combination of rustic and modern styles. Overall nice impression and a good rest. The kitchen in the restaurant is simple but fine. stayed only one day visiting Assisi. To my opinion the territory is rather big and it would be nice to animate it somehow, otherwise the place looks deserted. The personnel behaves a little bit arrogant and seems to be enjoying the place of their job, not catering to guests. And their uniform looks three stars and business hotel which does not correspond to the implied atmosphere of the place... Generally the hotel is just new and it might take time to orchestrate the work of everything. Would be nice to provide a shuttle bus service once a day (go and back ) at least to St. Maria Novella from where it is easier to get a connection to Assisi case there are some travellers who wish to go around and they are without a car.
Simple and clean hotel at convenient location for touring the countryside. Nothing fancy, but very inexpensive and a good value. If you want to save money but don't want to sacrifice cleanliness, its good to keep in mind. I had no problems with using the WIFI in my room and at breakfast. They also provided a decent simple breakfast. There was road noise and an alarm outside that woke me early in the morning. There was also a loud group that made lots of noise until late at night. The hotel was fine in itself, but because of all the noise I had a terrible night's sleep. I would consider it comparable to a nice highway roadside hotel in the US with a good breakfast.
The reception staff very helpful, clean, beautiful setting, views of assisi etc They said restaurant was fully booked so we had to dine in the breakfast room, the hotel was described as a resort hotel and yet there hardly seemed to be anyone in the hotel at all, we only saw about 8 other people the whole time, and the things offered in brochure all seemed to be shut.
Excellent coutnry location outside of the town of Assisi but with a beautiful view of Assisi. Well furnished new resort hotel with good facilities.
Lovely rooms; staff was indifferent; breakfast good No newspaper in English; staff was not very helpful;
large swimming pool and very quiet at most places, very kind reception Not yeady ready. Working people. No drinks available near the swimming pool (1.2 km) and to drink something was not very exciting in the hotel.
The location was stunning and so peaceful. We had a beautiful villa, not a single room, in amongst the vinyard with views of the hills and Assisi. It was wonderfully bucolic yet so convenient for touring Umbria. The resort manager was excellent - friendly, professional and generous. However, some of his stylish and rather gorgeous reception staff (initially at least) appeared aloof/unfriendly/unhelpful. Check in was a terse, "cold" and un-Italian affair. Our encounters "warmed" somewhat over the 8 days we were there but we never felt like "valued customers". This was not the case in the Restaurant or elsewhere around the resort - where staff blended professionalism with warmth and hospitality - where we flet welcome.
Great place for rest and enjoying the nature, ideal starting point for exploring not only Assisi but other Umbrian towns (Perugia, Terni, Gubbio, Lago Trasimeno… could be reached in half an hour or at most in an hour by car). It’s really beautiful resort, with nice hotel and stylish cottages. Nice swimming pool, but without stairs to go in/out – very inconvenient. The hotel is not easy to find. There were no signs directing you to the hotel if you coming from St. Maria degli Angeli.
It locates in the country side (very quiet place), and also not too far to the town(Santa Maria degli Angeli) and high way. Frendly stuff. Room and bath room are very clean and confortable. Nothing
very good breakfast and use of internet, open space in main area to meet business appointments. the restaurant was closed all nights I was there, and after asking how close the nearest restaurant was I was told only 2kl towards town 6kl later we found a restaurant. the shower leaked water under the tiles making bathroom floor wet
Castello Di Petrata was a great place to relax and enjoy the countryside of Umbria.
The surroundings were magnificent, the rooms beautiful, the food was excellent and the staff went above and beyond to help us with some challenges we had with transportation. The kindest and best customer service we experienced during our time in Italy.
The setting and views were beautiful. The room was distinctive and spacious. The hotel staff was extremely pleasant.
Spectacular setting -quiet & relaxing. Dinners were very good & intimate; Staff -most friendly and helpful; welcoming environment. Planning to return again. Highly recommend.
The views are fantastic. We only stayed one night. Wish we could've stayed longer. A bit of a drive from Assisi.
Beautiful setting with gorgeous view of Assisi. Warm and friendly staff. Low key beauty.
The owners were lovely, the property and grounds stunning and the views fantastic! no
Very nice staff, great private spa (paid, but a real recommendation), bath tub with view on the mountains
excellent location, close to assisi on one hand and distant enough on the other. good for sunny days - lots of space to explore
The Castello was very nice, the room was spacious and decorated tastefully. The Castello also had a beautiful swimming pool and jacuzzi with great views over the vineyards and the Tuscany landscapes. Everything was perfect. Choices were quite abundant at breakfast too. Nothing, but it is a must to have a car to access and it could be quite difficult to locate as it was not on the GPS.
The Assis Garden is centrally located. It had a room that accomodated the 5 people in my family very well. It was a good value for the money. The restaurant was and excellent value, and the food was very good. We ate dinner there twice!
Very friendly staff and a nice walk up to Assisi.
It was very nice. Staff was excellent, room was great. Location was ideal if you have a car--free parking, yet an easy 1 km uphill walk on a brick path into town. Breakfast was good.
The location, the staff, the quietness, the beauty of the surroundings, and the fact that it was a good place as a base to come back to at nite. The fact that they did not have lunch facilities.
The hotel was very clean and the buffet breakfast was excellent. The staff was very courteous and was very helpful in giving directions to the areas around Assissi. None.
Very quite and calm, good for relaxation . A bit far to the town and up hill.
Well maintained hotel with beautiful views over the Unbrian Valley. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. There was some noise from a disco a few nights down in the valley. Air conditioning would be good but the fan did help. Would have liked to sit in the garden under the trees but no chairs.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The surroundings were peaceful. The outside tables and chairs for relaxing were wonderful. I would definitely stay again if I were in the area.
The staff is very gentlemen. Breakfast.
Centrally located in Assisi, Italy. Excellent value for money
Great hotel in the center of Assisi, within easy walking distance of everything. Charming rooms, very prof staff.
Location, location, location. The staff was courteous, helpful, and friendly and offered the parking discount pass upon arrival. The public spaces at the hotel were stylish and clean and the room was nicely appointed. The continental breakfast was average. The carpeting in the room was dirty and you need to be a contortionist to use the bathroom; mold was starting to form in corners and crevices due to poor design and workmanship.
Helpful staff. There was a large sign in the bedrooms with information about the room minibar. It would be replenished daily and one was requested to make a note of items consumed fom it. But.... there was no minibar. Not in either of the rooms we took.
Rooms were comfortable, spacious. Front Desk people very helpful and friendly, great location and attractive hotel. Bathrooms were small.
They go out of their way to help you in directions, buying bus tickets, getting the internet working... I didn't know how to get there as I was confuse with the bus routes
Excellent staff, happy to accommodate our needs. Couldn't fault the location. No on site parking so a substantial extra cost.
The room was comfortable. The staff were nice and allowed us to use the lobby all day long back and forth from our walks until we left the town in the evening. The bathtub was very small and the bathroom had a strange smell.
Very nice and quiet location and the windows darken the room during the day enough where you can sleep during the day. Really updated with nice views. The host, Giulio, was very hospitable and will pick you up anywhere in the city. The soap provided is really small.
