10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location on the Plaza Major - room quiet. Maria Jesus and her colleague very nice and helpful. Excellent value.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Centrally located. Easy to park outside, opposite in the main square. Very clean rooms overlooking the main square. Good heating as it was a cold night Friendly welcome for the dog and no charges Excellent value for money Lovely town. We shall return
Cons: Nothing to dislike
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The building was beautiful compounded by a fantastically warm welcome by Maria
Cons: Nothing to improve
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent, with the front door opening directly onto the Plaza Mayor. Despite the central location we were amazed by the soundproofing. We had room 001 (which has a glazed terrace, suitable for the dog). The noise from the late night cafes and bars was audible, but not too unsettling. When we closed the wooden shutters, it was difficult to believe that we were still above the Plaza Mayor, for it suddenly became so quiet. Our room was well maintained and decorated, in colours consistent with the antiquity of the building. The bathroom was very clean and roomy. Our welcome was warm, friendly and very helpful. Overall, this a great property for a short stay. A day is probably enough to see Ciudad Rodrigo, though this would also be a good base for touring other towns in Salamanca Province, or even a day trip to Guarda, Portugal.
Cons: Parking, but that is not the fault of the property. The whole of Ciudad Rodrigo Old Town is a tightly controlled parking area, to preserve its antiquity. The long stairway into the property. It is very beautiful, though difficult for anyone with restricted mobility. Again, this is not the fault of the property. It is a heritage building, very well restored and maintained.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: nice location , friendly staff, large room
Cons: noise isolation. can hear everything from next door room, especially TV and loud talking till late at night
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel had a lot of atmosphere - interesting history.. It is on the main square, with street parking (we paid a small amount for a meter to park overnight). The receptionist was very helpful.
Cons: Nothing !

Pros: Great Junior Suite, plenty of room and good atmosphere for historic building. Good views. Friendly staff. Secure parking for modest fee. Good breakfast and restaurant
Cons: Small number of general public strolling around as historic building.
4.5 Okay
Pros: NOTHING -The water was rusty. The bathroom was both smelly and needed updating. The food was not good-terribly pricey but awfully prepared. It was basically 'a joke'. Breakfast poor. Coffee awful, tea awful, bread stale etc.
Cons: Already said that above. The scenery was good and that's about all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the ambience of the historic building but with all the modern comforts. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful
Cons: It would have been nice to have had a facility to make a cup of coffee or tea in our room.

Cons: Nothing

Pros: Position was excellent
Cons: Historical & position
7.0 Good
Pros: Ciudad Rodrigo is a very unique and interesting old town. The Parador is also a unique place to stay - nice decor, good access to the town, onsite parking and a tower to climb. The breakfast was fine with a pleasant lady looking after our needs. .
Cons: We felt that the dinner in the restaurant was not good value. Although it is normal in Portugal to pay for bread and olives, the €2 each for one small piece of bread was excessive. The actual main plates were small portions.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed here last year. It was an ideal stopping place for our car journey from Portugal to Santander. We love using Paradors. This year the Manager organised a BBQ and traditional Guitar/singing music in the gardens. It was well attended and very enjoyable.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: The WIFI internet system was not stable And could not be used in the room!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, v good value
Cons: Nothing!
6.3 Good
Pros: The location just inside the walls was wonderful. The hotel was very clean.
Cons: There was no parking at the hotel this did not seem a problem as just outside the walls was a very large car park, unfortunately for us it was used for a market on the Saturday morning and our car was towed away and impounded. It cost 150 euros to get it back and we still managed to catch the ferry. A little notice in the hotel telling you not to park on the car park over night on a Friday night could have saved this from happening. Unfortunately the blind did not work in the room leaving it in permanent darkness. Water was dripping from the ceiling into the toaster.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Warm comfortable room with a very good bathroom. The hotel is very close to the main square where there is a huge variety of restaurants and cafes.
Cons: Nothing really.
9.3 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very spacious as was the shower The breakfast was really good with choice of cereals fruit and cakes
Cons: We would have liked better directions for the drive to the hotel Although the sat nav found the street it was not possible to park within the old town walls The direction to the nearby car park and the short walk to the hotel would be beneficial
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Warm and cosy.
Cons: No parking near by.
Casa Rural El Pasil - Serradilla del Llano - Building
6
8.7 Excellent (106 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Casa Rural El Pasil in Serradilla del Llano, you'll be 12.8 mi (20.7 km) from Palacio Moctezuma and 13.1 mi (21.1 km) from Vazquez House. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The girl at check-in and the man at check-out were very nice people. They have the place very well kept and run. The room is a perfect size, not too small, not too big. It was a perfect size and was very quiet, even for a light sleeper like me. The bed was a very comfortable large double bed with a good firm mattress. The room was spotlessly clean.
Cons: When we arrived at the property, the girl had not received our booking from booking.com, so our check-in was delayed by a good bit. A bit annoying after a long days drive. However, it was eventually sorted out. There was a stench of smoke coming into our room in the morning, which was disgusting and annoying. It seems to be a Spanish thing but, like most places in Spain, we had horrible flimsy pillows on our bed. We had to prop them up with a thick sheet. After our long day, we were looking forward to a nice hot bath. Unfortunately the property seems to take it upon themselves to control the water temperature for their guests, and we couldn't get the temperature anything more than lukewarm. I like it hot....and it was the same story in the morning. The wifi reception was also dreadful in the room. I realise that this is a rural region, but it was fine in the bar downstairs.....but useless in our room. Very annoying for people who wants to organise their next step from the comfort of their rooms.
6.8 Good
Pros: Small and convenient Hotel with a nice restaurant and friendly staff. Very cheap in terms of price. The nature in the area is an experience in its own right and its stunning beauty must be seen to be believed. Buen ambiente, el personal estaba amable y la naturaleza alrededor del hostal estupendo.
Cons: Very isolated in terms of location, but since I was coming to town for the Carnaval del Toro in Ciudad Rodrigo I was very aware of that, since almost all Hotels in the town are sold out way in advance. But the beautiful nature that I got to see travelling back and forth from Ciudad almost made it worth it.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The food was amazing! The staff was super friendly. The natural swimming pool 2km away is a gem (particularly in the morning as it was virtually empty!) gin&tonic was very cheap ;) there is not much to do in the village yet it has a super welcoming feeling, particularly as many locals get together at the bar of the hotel; the night sky is priceless.
Cons: No air conditioning in the room (although it is OK given the great value of the room!)
9.3 Excellent
Cons: The guy at the reception didn't know about my reservation..

Cons: Nothing.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything, really good quality over price, totally recommended.
Cons: The only thing to improve would be how comfortable the bed was, but this is very personal since I suffer from backache.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good value budget hotel in Cuidad Rodrigo, just outside the old walled town. Lively bar with tapas style menu.
Cons: The separate restaurant room was distinctly lacking in atmosphere and the food wasn't great. You're better off sticking with the bar menu.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Although outside the walled city, it was only about a ten minute walk. Lots of cafes and restaurants within walking distance
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice staff, both in the hotel and their cafeteria. Very comfortable beds. Excellent soundproofing on windows, (although on the first floor you could hear noise from the bar and restaurant through the door).
Cons: Soundproofing of door. Could do with a minibar / fridge
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super clean and the staff were very helpful.
Cons: A place to get a full breakfast would have been helpful.

Cons: Sound insulation between rooms was poor
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Centrally located in historic part of city.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was spacious, the location of the hotel is fabulous and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was spot on, just inside the city walls and short walking distance from all other sites. Plenty of reasonably priced bars and restaurants, superb nightlife as it was one of many Spanish fiesta weeks.
Cons: Parking was a bit hit and miss. Fee payable every two hours during specific periods. Confusing! Breakfast was rather lacking, 1 croissant, jam and coffee 4.55euro not worth the money, could have got better at local cafe nearby for the same price. Wouldn't bother again.
7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely building in a tranquil and charming square very close to the town centre. Large room, comfortable beds and air conditioning. View across the square from our room. Reception staff pleasant and efficient. Restaurant food for evening meal was delicious.
Cons: Restaurant is open at lunchtime and then not until 20.30. We know this is typical of Spain but not ideal for us when there is no provision for service between those hours. We were fortunate to find a parking spot nearby but the hotel doesn’t have its own allocated spaces.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything it was as good as possible
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: hotel has had a makeover since i last stayed here about 5 years ago. new dining area and separate breakfast room, and a new reception area, all very smart and modern. i stayed here twice over the same weekend while travelling to and from portugal. my room was a good size and very clean, comfy bed and modern bathroom. i ate both nights in the restaurant , steak the first night and cod in a tomato based sauce the second, both dishes were very nice. breakfast was a tostada and tea for €4.55 and a large beer in the bar was €2.27. all the staff i met were pleasant and cheery and i would stay here again.
Cons: the girl serving breakfast was rushed off her feet trying to cope with a busy room, a little help for her would not have gone amiss.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenience, friendly staff,nice breakfast.
Cons: The bed I found extremely hard, therefore sleeping was a problem. Plus sadly not living in Europe I prefer my own single pillow, not a long shared one. Those I do not enjoy. Plumbing was weird with burst of noise and water when taps were turned on. I figured just an old building problems. In all very happy
7.0 Good
Pros: Lovely room. Breakfast was a shock, it was so minimal. Wouldn’t pay for breakfast there again
Cons: Breakfast

7.0 Good
Pros: The up-scale restaurant (white tablecloths) and staff were terrific. The hotel is a quaint version of a Spanish land owner estate - with bull heads mounted on lounge walls, solid wooden furniture etc.
Cons: The rooms need some modernization. The hotel is 1 km outside of the city and needs a better sign for the road to turn off the highway - especially if traveling east from Portugal.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was very spacious and extremely quiet. The breakfast was cheap and quite good. Overall, our one-night stay proved to be excellent value for money.
Cons: No restaurant at this time of the year (late April).

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, services, staff.
Cons: Everything was perfect.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good position. Friendly staff. Comfortable.
Cons: The car park, whilst being secure, is incredibly difficult to get out of, and we have been in all shapes and sizes of underground parks! It must be a 1 in 3 slope with a left turn at the top into a narrow street. Ok if you have a small saloon but almost impossible with a large front wheel drive loaded estate car. No traction if you hesitate and no space to turn out of the garage at the top.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location close to attractions and restaurants
Cons: difficult parking, very steep and slippery ramp. Only one pillow per person. One small rubbish bin
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It’s location and excellent breakfast
Cons: Very small bedroom with no outside view

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location in a beautiful walled town. walking distance to all local attractions and their cafe in town was very good and extremely good value for money. Comfortable room and good breakfast apart from coffee (see below)
Cons: Coffee at breakfast had obviously been brewed several hours before and was somewhat unpleasant!
6.3 Good
Pros: Location of hotel within the city walls is good. Parking under hotel is good. Having looked at reviews about the breakfast at €5 per person. I found it money well spent. You can eat as much as you like. Don't expect a full english cooked breakfast though.
Cons: The walls between the other rooms are not insulated. You can hear everything what is going on the other rooms adjacent to yours. Not a good night's sleep.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything

8.8 Excellent
Pros: It's cheap, and that shows in the lack of fancy equipment or frills. But it is excellent value for money, perfectly comfortable and very welcoming - to both people and pets. The food is excellent - to say it is good value is an understatement. It's underpriced. Wonderful 3-course meal for €9. Really good coffee too.
Cons: I didn't love the furry sheets - but that's just my taste.
6.3 Good
Pros: Owners were friendly
Cons: Facilities tired
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The daily lunch & dinner here is excellent and a good value, the carrot soup was my favorite. The lemon mousse and whisky cake we had for dessert were also great! Even if you do not decide to stay here, stop off on your way by to eat. The owner is an ex-Londoner and was able to give us lots of information about Spain in general. There were almost no rooms in Salamanca, and we were going by La Ponderosa anyway, so stopped here. It worked great for us, but we are fine with the outback-1950's in-need-of-some-fixing-up vibe. Everything worked and we had everything we needed. We would stay here again for a night if passing through!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The two dinners that we had were superb. Kelly is an excellent cook and the portions were huge! Kelly and her partner are most welcoming, and helpful.
Cons: The exterior of the hotel needs tidying up and painting. It could put potential clients off.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food was very enjoyable. It was very, very cold outside but despite this our stay was nice and warm! Very nice people, with an awsome fire. The breakfast was very filling.
Cons: On the day we passed through the host had a limted supply of rose and white wine but apart from that everything else was perfect. (Perhaps we were being greedy he did find 2 bottles.)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Pet friendly and quite relaxing...felt at home.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, coaxed my daughter out of a meltdown with smiles and chat, amazing breakfast, lovely bacon and eggs. I would definitely stay here again.
7.0 Good
Pros: The food at the hotel's restaurant was very good and fresh. The owners were very nice.
Cons: We had a room on the side of the hihgway, so it was a bit noisy despite that we had the window closed. There were a not pleasant smell in the room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent food with a wide ranging menu and at 9 Euros for a three course meal astoundingly good value.
Cons: It was all good

Pros: Near to Good bars and center of town
Cons: Check in was a mess and not personal Room decent but boring
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant room and bathroom. Clean and comfortable (relatively) beds. Good value for money and a reasonably central location
Cons: The reception was not staffed and you have to get the keys from an Irish pub a little way away (about 200 meters).
7.7 Good
Pros: Pleasant people - Lovely location on the canal - High quality fixtures and fittings in the rooms - Good buffet breakfast
Cons: We have only stayed here in October but both times the restaurant has been closed unfortunately.
6.0 Good
Pros: This is an excellent value character hotel located on the outskirts of Ciudad Rodrigo. Our room was spacious and clean and had a view up the river towards the old city. Some nice restoration of the mill has been done on the ground floor and there is a large bar, but currently no restaurant.
Cons: The hotel surroundings are rather scuffy, and some better directions are needed on the website. It takes about 20 mins to walk from the hotel into the old town, which is fine if you want a stroll before dinner, but in bad weather or at night you really need to drive.
7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel was pleasantly situated on the outskirts of Ciudad Rodrigo in a converted mill from a bygone day, retaining a lot of the features (stone walls and wooden beams etc.) in the rooms and public places. Our corner room overlooked the river below and a distant view of the castle. Altogether, a satisfying stop on our trip through Spain.
Cons: Signage for the hotel was not obvious as we were coming from Portugal and we travelled the streets of Ciudad for some time before coming to the turn-off which took us down a country lane to the Inn. Once there, all was quite pleasant except that we had to go back into town for dinner as there is no restaurant either there or close by. With an expansion of the business this could be a first-class facility. Lots of potential.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: the setting was fantastic, although their was a walk into town which may not suit everyone. all aspects of hotel were grand.
4.7 Okay
Pros: Nice and tranquil with a good view along the river. An old mill recently renovated but sadly not retaining much of the character.
Cons: No amenities - an unused tennis court and a dry and dusty garden! Quite a long walk to the town (or a short drive)
6.0 Good
Pros: Attractive position, clean modern facilities.
Cons: We stayed in February when temperatures were low. Although no problem with heating in the room, the rest of the hotel was unheated, with the exception of a large attractive fire in the lounge area, although the owners/staff seem to be relying on this for their own comfort and it was not possible therefore to share in this facility!
6.0 Good
Pros: CH and a small hotel having a lift
Cons: Breakfast could be improved and difficulty in communication
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a beautifully renovated old mill building with a sunset lake view over the medievel walled town to die for.
Cons:
7.2 Good
Pros: Very friendly, clean and comfortable. Nice location by the river. Homely feel.
Cons: No food available during the day.
5.6 Okay
Pros: Location and surroundings
Cons: Although we knew that on-site catering was limited to a cafeteria that "serves toasties", there was no prior indication that we could not eat before 21:00, and that breakfast was only from 9:00 - far too late in both cases for travellers using the hotel only as a stop-over.
