8.5 Very good
Pros:This is a good business model for families. The hotel itself is OK; probably on par with a slightly dated DoubleTree or something of that level. Where the hotel sets itself apart is in the design of the room: ours had a built in "treehouse" that contained a bunk bed and an extra bed. Add in the king bed in the main part of the room, there were four beds overall. That's really nice for a family with several kids who might otherwise need two rooms. The waterpark was nice, although maybe a touch on the small side. That was fine for us; our child is not much of a daredevil so she was happy with what was available. Some children may find it to be a bit repetitive after a couple of days, but the waterslides were surprisingly fun for an indoor park, if a little short. I had low expectations, and they were substantially exceeded. Besides the waterpark, there was some other stuff for the kids to do, which included a scavenger hunt-type game called "MagiQuest." The kids get a magic wand and have to wander around the hotel completing adventures and finding different things based on clues in a book. It's a nice idea because it's easily several hours of entertainment, and it's nice to have something to do other than the waterpark. It's a clever idea and a nice touch. In the vein of Disney, there is a lot of other stuff for the kids to do, like activities with the Great Wolf characters, Build-a-Bear, story time, etc. We were there for two nights and I was concerned it was going to be too long, but it wasn't. Plenty of stuff to do and we never got bored.
Cons:In the vein of Disney, everything is designed to milk a little more money out of you. The waterpark is included with your room stay, but that's pretty much it. The MagiQuest, significantly, is not included, and it's not cheap. You have to buy a magic wand and the game, which together is around $35 or so. It seems like every kid in the hotel does the MagiQuest, so be prepared for your kids to ask you about it. Alternatively, you can buy a "Paw Pass," which includes the MagiQuest and a few other things (including Build-a-Bear) for $60. It's a pretty decent value for what it is, I guess, but $60 is $60. If you have a few kids, that can certainly add up to real money that you may have not been expecting to spend. The hotel room itself, while fun and cleverly designed, was not the most comfortable. The king mattress was not particularly nice, the pillows were not of high quality, and the kids' beds in the treehouse were downright uncomfortable (my kid didn't mind them). I would not put the bedding on par with a DoubleTree -- it is worse. The food is just OK, the selection isn't great, and it's expensive. The main restaurant charges around $20 for an entree. For $20, I expect the food to be good, but it wasn't. It came cold and was only fair in terms of taste and flavor. The kids meals are expensive ($8.95) and also didn't look to be particularly special. There is no lunch menu. By the time that you add on a tip, expect to spend $25-$30 per adult for a meal, not including alcohol. With a couple of drinks added in, it could easily approach $40-$50 per adult. There are two other quick service restaurants in the hotel. The food is also just OK, and the prices are also pretty expensive for what it is (burgers, chicken tenders, etc.)-- plan for around $10-$12 per person, excluding alcohol. The service was hit and miss. Some of the staff was very friendly, while others were clearly phoning it in. Our room was not ready at the already very late check-in time of 4:00 p.m., which is particularly astonishing considering that check-out is 11:00 a.m. The hotel did not seem terribly concerned that our room was not ready at check-in time, and so we were just sitting around the lobby waiting with a lot of other people, whose rooms were also not ready. The rest of the staff, as I said, was hit and miss. Some of the staff really were trying to make for an excellent stay, while others couldn't be bothered. The staff included a lot of younger, college-age type people; I noticed that, in general, these were the people who weren't really making an effort. The older adults on staff (perhaps those with children themselves?) were really making an effort. Overall a good stay, and I would certainly go back. But it's nice to go in with your eyes open.

9.4 Wonderful
Pros:The room was amazing, everything was very clean and comfortable. There was always something to do with the water park, arcade, and movie times in the main lobby. There is a restaurant, and a bar, a coffee shop, pizza//other quick foods stand, and ice cream as well. Super kid friendly, as they have quests you can purchase for the kids to do during your trip. They also have bottle service for adults at night which is nice.
Cons:We checked in after we went to cedar point so we were tired, and the staff at night wasn’t a welcoming as day light. (Understandable). When we checked in, the concierge just gave us a packet and didn’t even tell us how to get into our room. I was never there before and didn’t know the wristbands open your door, and I assumed he didn’t give us a key.

Cons:Wished the water park stayed open later.

8.0 Very good
Pros:Waterpark was phenomenal for an indoor park. Suited more for younger children than tweens. Had a hot tub that was for adults only but children were present and splashing around a lot of the time. Overall, pretty nice. Rooms could have been cleaner and they are not the "family suites" as advertised, they are double hotel rooms with log furniture.

9.1 Wonderful
Cons:GREAT WOLF LODGE WAS EXCELLENT. THIS WAS MY FAMILIES FIRST TIME THERE AND I WAS VERY IMPRESSED. THE LADY THAT READ THE STORY YOU COUNLDN'T HEAR HER CLEARLY, AND THE FOOD IN THE DINING ROOM FOR BREAKFAST WAS HORRIBLE. OVERALL IF THESE TWO THINGS GET CORRECTED , THIS PLACE WILL BE AWSOME.

9.6 Wonderful
Pros:They had everything we needed right on sight. We liked the extras that they offered for our children. They received Wolf ears at arrival and had activities and a bedtime story in the lobby. We all enjoyed the waterpark!
Cons:The game room closed at 9. I think 10 would've been much better. We couldn't fit everything in. We had one staff person at check in that wasn't helpful at all and wasn't very nice. Another person apologized for her and took care of what we needed. Everyone else was very nice and helpful.
