Pros: L'Ippogrifo is beautifully decorated with generously sized rooms. We stayed there last week on our family trip to Italy. It is in prime location just steps away from reaturants and old city sights. It was perfect for spending a day in Ferrara. The breakfast selection was very very good. Even picky kids could find enough to eat. Tiny doughnuts were especially popular ;) The best part though was the amazing and friendly service ! This place is a gem!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This B&B is in an old house very close to the city centre in an excellent location. The rooms are stylishly furnished and a good size - ours had a kitchenette. The highlight of this B&B is the breakfast - there was a fantastic array of home baked cakes and pastries to sample, with different items each day.
Cons: Breakfast was slightly crowded as there wasn't enough room for all the guests to eat at once - but it was worth the wait!

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Roberta went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable. The room was very clean and spacious. We had a lovely breakfast on the balcony, warm croissants delivered to our room door. We borrowed bikes, free of charge, to move around town. Everything was perfect, I would highly recommend this acommodation
Cons: Everything was great
5.5 Okay
Pros: The possibility of free use of the bike.
Cons: We paid a "king room" overlooking the garden and got Depandance! Is this reserved exclusively for Italian guests? The location is desperate, it is solved by the possibility of visiting the center of the city with a bicycle, which in the price of the rented room. The breakfast, which is in the price, is a not worth mentioning clergy is just a crochet with a coffee and optionally a yogurt (fruit). Far from the breakfasts that are usually in the region ... Would you come back to this accommodation again? No. Never! Luckily we were only one night in this accommodation, so we were so much appreciated with the rating.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was wonderful. Confortable room, free bikes, close to the center.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very gentle and helpful owners, going out of their way to assist, beyond what can normally be expected by a guest. Thanks.

Cons: The temperature was 38C when we were there, but the hotel cannot be blamed for that.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was very convenient.
Cons: No garage. Parking not close by.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This is our third stay. We love the art, the charm, the spacious and quiet interior. It's got everything a boutique hotel should have. The breakfast is one of the best hotel breakfasts we've had in Italy. There are both sweet and savory options, there are ample tables, newspapers from around the world, excellent espresso (and American coffee if you want), outstanding cakes. The aura of the place is serene and well cared for. Tons of information about Ferrara and local artists. Our room was of average size, with ample storage space and a good-sized shower. Bed was queen-sized, firm and for us, quite comfortable. There was not actually much of a view from the room (street view) but that was okay and there was some people watching to be done. Very clean. Front desk is always staffed, check in and check out are cordial. Before arrival, Hotel helped us book a private car to get to a more distant city, and the driver was absolutely outstanding (and a friend of one of the owners, we felt very safe and cared for). One of the owners is on site at all times, everything is managed very well. Unobtrusive cleaning staff. Excellent location for visiting the Castello and other parts of Ferrara. I just wish we'd had more time.
Cons: Small issues with the wifi, and the wifi wasn't any better in the lobby. It seemed to go off and on, but it wasn't a big deal and ultimately connected me most of the time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hosts and location, good breakfast and a lot of nice tourist booklets in the reception :-) They gave us a great tip for a nice local restaurant. The room was clean and furnished nicely.
Cons: The main attractions were closed for renovations, but that is hardly a fault of the hotel, which was perfect.

Pros: friendly greeting from all staff, very efficient check in and out, upgraded with spectacular view of castle and centre of city, which is very quiet at night.
Cons: Hotel is on 3rd floor and doorbell instructions are only in Italian and difficult to understand.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is the “place” to stay in Ferrara overnight if you want have all the attractions resting at your feet - yes the rooms with a view are worth it. And please don’t forget to have breakfast!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great view from the room. Very helpful and friendly staff who provided a welcome pack and an umbrella when it rained.
7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast is great, with a splendid view
Cons: The shower didn't work well, we awoke early in the morning with a lot of noise
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was fantastic, with a view looking directly across the old cathedral. The breakfast was also good, taking place on a third floor terrace that overlooks the main piazza and the bustling, early morning crowd. Where the hotel excels far beyond its competitors, however, is its incredibly friendly staff. They went out of their way to assist us with several issues not related to the stay. Overall, an excellent option for anyone visiting Ferrara!
Cons: The A/C was a little weak and the temp went as high as 106 during the day. It was still 100 at 10:00pm, so that didn't help.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location
Cons: Terrible smell throughout the hotel!

Pros: Terrace next to the room. Restaurant as a part of the property is excellent choice for lunch. Too bad they are not open for dinner.
Cons: Unloading the luggage was not easy on the busy street. Parking away from the property.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location is excellent for main square access. 5 minute walk on beautiful back streets. Fairly large room with opening skylights instead of windows. Very bright in daylight. Bathroom fairly roomy. Quiet, even though it’s on a Main Street. Cafe downstairs but not a noisy bar. Rooms open onto a lovely roof terrace which makes a nice respite from sightseeing. Rooms are tastefully decorated with etching/paintings and the decor is warm and not overly modern. Included breakfast isn’t stellar but the essentials are covered and you won’t go away hungry. Very comfortable feel for the price / location and will go back.
Cons: Shower was bizarre. Radio and lights in the tiniest shower imaginable. Very dangerous actually. Not crazy about the mansard roof interior - seems to make the room much smaller than it actually is. Not much table space for drawing or writing, but what else is new is midrange European rooms.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Rooms do not have good sound isolation. You can hear even the littlest sounds from corridor and other rooms. Towels were terrible and strange - more like bed sheets than actual towels. Also, from our room there was no view at all since half meter from our window was a wall.

Pros: Amazing place to relax, very quite, cozy and owner very friendly. Unfortunately we found the place to late during our holiday and we had the chance to enjoy this extraordinary place only for one night. But we are planning to go back next time visiting Bologna. The house has a very interesting arhitecture and is a combination of old classic design and modern. It is really a hidden gem and worth planning to visit.
Cons: Everything was perfect.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: If your looking for the best in slow food Italy and authentic regional food in Emilia-Romagna region this place is a great find. Room cosy, my partner was travelling for work and ended using this place as his base. Food was fresh from their cheese and meat farm. Their own ricotta, Parmesan cheese and their meat. The home made vanilla ice cream with 12 year old Modena vinegar was divine. Their home made pork sausage with chicoria was just like my Sicilian mother in laws cooking. Very traditional. You would pay a lot more money for the food if this was based in a big tourist place like Florence or Rome.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is a bit off main road and not so easy to find, but really worth the visit. Staff was really friendly and rooms very cosy. Bathroom was exceptionally clean and well equipped. They have a nice restaurant downstairs with good food. Their Tiramisu was best I have ever had. Breakfast was excellent.
Cons: Nothing to mention. All was good.

Pros: Room: very personal authentic room - well functioning air conditioning (outside T of 36°C) - good sleep quality Bath room: good shower - changing towels daily Internet: well working at most spots Breakfast: home made things from own garden (cake, marmelade, bread) - nice breakfast taking into account the limited breakfasts one sometimes get in Italy - wonderful breakfast room Host: Paolo and Clara are amazing hosts - friendly, helpful, giving a feeling of 'being at home'. Swimming pool is amazing - clear water - daily cleaning A couple of times a week, Paolo organises brunch, apertives, ... Very tasty lunch can be provided.

Pros: Nice atmosphere and cheerful round pool. Very near Ferrara but in a quiet location. Comfortable

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable, friendly. Great location.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great owner, very friendly and helpful. Very good location near the city whilst being quiet and relaxing. The kids loved the pool.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The attic room was absolutely amazing. A huge space that was really well decorated. Lots of light and a pleasure to the eye. Loved the fact that behind the property was a quiet lane to wander down before breakfast. Paolo was super friendly at breakfast time. The breakfast was good by Italian standards.
Cons: Breakfast choice was a little limited, but we are in Italy and continental selections are the norm. Noisy fridge, we needed to unplug it at night. It didn't feel very 'agriturismo', apart from the homemade jam and bread at breakfast. Compared to other 120 Euro overnight stays, where we've had a complimentary bottle of local wine or similar produce in our room, this was a little below average.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice host, always helping out in case of questions.
Cons: Adjacent main road is not walkable
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location just outside of Ferrara, swimming-pool, breakfast, cleanliness.

7.5 Good
Cons: The towels were not good, there were no one-time washing tools.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Awesome swimming pool, lovely hosts.
Cons: The rooms are a bit noisy because of the nearby traffic. And the pizzeria within walking distance looks really sad (yet the pizza is ok).
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The kindness of the staff and owner, the main property and pool, the interior of the apartment.
Cons: We stayed in an apartment a little away from the main property, which required exiting the main gate an walking down a small alley next to a fairly busy road.
7.0 Good
Pros: The room was comfortable and facilities good
Cons: The breakfast was unbelievable. The use of the word 'breakfast' in the hotel name is misleading. A cellophane wrapped croissant and a bottle of juice, for which there is a charge of €1, is hardly a decent breakfast.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Super pied-à-terre with great facilities. Particularly appreciated the high level of cleanliness and the swimming pool. Bus stop right nearby. The hostess is charming.
Cons: Just a note - buses stop early evening and are much less frequent on Sundays, so takes some planning. Takes c.25 mins on the bus to reach the centre. The road is also pretty busy, but the windows offer very good insulation.

Pros: Simplicity of town and not touristy at all. Very quite bike friendly town. We explore this town on our way from Venice to Florence and was great choice to explore with history
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Really pleased that we chose this hotel amongst a number of options in central Ferrara. The Nazionale's location is definitely its best feature. We were within walking distance (less than 5 mins) of the Duomo and the Castle in a beautiful historic quarter of the city. The room itself was clean and well-presented. The modern bathroom was great. Breakfast options were varied and tasty, with croissants and hams and cheeses, cereal and spreads. Highly recommended. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable with local recommendations, and let us leave luggage after checking out which was helpful.

Pros: Clean and really nice, safe, right in the middle of things. Staff was wonderful. Breakfast excellent too,
Cons: Parking very difficult.
6.3 Good
Pros: Great location. Large bathroom but with insufficient light. Clean.
Cons: Hotel doesn’t have elevator. They help you to bring the bags at arrival but it is not easy to get down with heavy suitcase from 2. floor. Very small breakfast room so people must wait for the table and very poor choice of food, especially for people that prefers continental breakfast. No fresh bread,no eggs...They didn’t switch ON air-condition even after we ask them. Then we had to try to sleep with open window, but the noise were unbearable.

Pros: The location is perfect and staff are really nice.
Cons: The air-co was not working properly so I needed help to turn it off. Other than that, all was good.
