Wonderful artwork came as a great surprise. Location is excellent for access to major roadways and within walking distance of all the sights. Lovely dining patio and swimming pool.
the staff was very nice and very helpful; the rooms had very good facilities and also the hotel in general. Excellent hotel on all the aspects.
The hotel was a bit hard to find, would be nice with better indication of the hotel's location.
It was in a quiet position yet with very easy access to the sights. There seemed to be few people staying there- probably because of Italian holidays, so it was quite empty.
The staff were quite nice. I had to check out 1 night early at short notice and they did not charge me for the unused night, which they could have. The hotel pool was not yet open and it was a big holiday weekend at the beginning of June - and hot weather! I chose the hotel based only on the pool. When I arrived I learned that the Management does not even open the pool until july, which is unbelievable as in Umbria it gets very hot in June. This fact should be very clearly disclosed at booking.
Rooms were new, nice and comfortable. Facilities were nice. Breakfast was mediocre. My room smelled like cigarettes and when I complained they didn't offer to change my room. However polite they may have been.
Excellent Room, Beautiful Hotel...but a four star hotel where you can't get anything to eat or drink at 2 o'clock in the afternoon (that's afternoon not morning!) leaves a lot to be desired The point above typifies Italy so it's a general.
The pool, the laid back staff, the cleaness and the facilaties of the room and the location.
The center town is very close to hotel. Parking is free. It seems a contemporany art museum.
Old style room was comfortable. Building work going on next door and throughout Spoleto. Breakfast was poor.
In general we had a good experience at the hotel. We heard others complain about the broken air-conditioners in their rooms, but ours was fine. The restaurant food was only fair and too expensive. We ate there only once. Our room was fairly small and there were only two small drawers to put clothes into so we had to leave most things out and on chairs
A pleasant hotel well-situated in the heart of the medieval town of Spoleto. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Staff are helpful. Food in the restaurant is excellent, however, breakfast is a little basic. I have stayed there before and would happily return.
OK location. Free parking at all areas in town and parking in front of the hotel if you are lucky. Nice restaurant with a terrace facing the small piazza. Good view from upper floor rooms facing the valley. Breakfast was a disappointment. No shower curtains, so the whole bathroom was wet after taking a shower (seems to be an Italian thing). At first we were showed a room at the lowest floor with an old and dirty looking carpet on the floor and a view of the neighbors roof. After asking for a room without a carpet on the floor we got a nice room at upper floors facing the valley so it seems the rooms are in different shape.
Good location, good value for money. Breakfast could improve a bit. Shower didn't work properly and had no shower curtain (not a surprise in Italy though).
Excellent cuisine when dining at the hotel in the evening, lovely terrace for outside dining and nice lounge/bar for evening use especially Room was very small considering this was 'luxury' level, and only one mirror in bathroom / bedroom combined, with relatively poor visibility for shaving / make up purposes
Not far from the center of the city and the location of the hotel is good if you want to spend a few days in Spoleto. If you have a car, near the hotel there is a free parking; but you have to know it, because of the staff do not tell me about. There is a free car parking near the hotel, and the staff tell us about this park at the end of our travel; but if you pay ... may be they will tell you at the beginning of your stay.
Public smoking area
The location just opposite a gate in the city wall, was excellent, and easy to find. The hotel is immediately adjacent to a huge free city car park. Based on earlier guest reviews, we expected a very poor breakfast, but the breakfast supplied was adequate.
we enjoyed the location, the price, the service was beyond the necessary, and the breakfast wasgood
We were given a warm and polite welcome, and breakfast was served in a frindly manner Noise from traffic along road, Plastic plates and cutlery at breakfast, a breakfast a bit light
It was good value for money with a good location. The room was cleaned and the bed made every day with fresh towels also being set out. Whilst simple I enjoyed the breakfast and there was plenty to eat, On leaving I was left a half bottle of Prosecco and a short note, which was greatly appreciated. There was also an excellent restaurant next door called Le Logge. Whilst I found the staff very helpful it would have helped more had they spoken English.
Small hotel, very likely to a town house; perfect if you are on holidays and not in a hurry in the morning. I was there for a work meeting starting at 9 a.m.; unfortunately the breakfast service doesn't start before 8.30 a.m. so I had to go out without even a coffee; but the morning after they were very very kind
This was the most dreadful hotel experience in my life. The staff was extremely arrogant and unfriendly. The whole atmosphere was more like a prison than a hotel. Not to be recommanded is just an understatement!!! Should be removed form hotel.com
The hotel owner greeted us with a glass of prosecco, which was nice, and the bath had inbuilt jacuzzi jets - which didn't work! Yes. It was hard to find, on the edge of town, the breakfast was minimal and its location should have been better flagged up.
everything. Excellent hotel. Perfect locatiobn. Very quiet. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful breakfast, good dinners and big rooms, in fact almost suites. We really felt wonderful and will always - when in Spoleto - come back!!! Nothing..
Comfortable & quiet room, convenient elevator, excellent food, pleasant & helpful staff.
Courtesy and location There were some problems with electrical supplies that entailed a disturbed night on 30/31 Jan
There's all what you need. Quite big rooms, tidy. Great location. Nice personel. For this price - I was really surprised after past visit in other hotels in Italy. I highly reccomend it.
nice location, easy access to Spoleto center, private parking provided, good restaurant the room's furniture was very simple and old fashioned, not for a 4 star hotel, breakfast good but not for a 4 star hotel
Absolutely wonderful. I recommend everyone go to Spoleto just to stay at that hotel and be treated like a human being. Bravo Hotel dei Duchi, bravissimo!! No
The lovely large bed.
Facilities and service to a consistently high standard
Comfortable,relaxed,quiet Bar not staffed
Excellent service and well located. good restaurant Not easy to find initially.
Terrific room with a great view. Very good breakfast. We arrived late, and the attending concierge did not speak any English, resulting in us unneccessarily paying for public parking (there were permits available) and not using the wireless internet (as he told us there was no internet facility). The morning staff was well informed, but unfortunately, too late.
Was staying in this hotel for couple of days in end of March. The room had large windows with incredible view of old town. But the bathroom was styled like in 3-star hotel with cheap bath tube. Additionally the hotel switched off the heating in the nights that resulted in +15 degree inside! So I would rate the hotel maximum for 3 stars.
The staff were super! Beautiful hotel and perfect location, the views from our room was breathtaking. Clean and well organized. Breakfast was good, we really enjoyed this hotel.
very friendly and helpful staff, breakfast is nice, beautiful view however if you check in downstairs some roomes wireless not work inside room have to go to the reception room all the time
The employees were very nice.
The hotel staff were very gracious. The breakfast was wonderfully presented and the room had an extraordinary view through a wall of Venetian windows. It was cold and rainy while I was in Spoleto and the room, charming as it was, did not have a warm and cozy feel.
The Hotel Dragoni was a true find for me. It was perfect. The owner was charming and helpful. The room was beautiful and comfortable, besides having a wonderful view. It was also centrally located and featured a nice breakfast. What else can you ask for?..Jorge Santis, Fort lauderdale The only thing that it lacks is a bellhop. It should have someone to help the guests with their luggage.
Superb facility, ideally situated and a wonderful caring staff. The furnishings and room facilities were excellent. An ancient and romantic building representing a most historic period in Italian history. Nothing
It was a nicely situated Hotel, very clean, elegantly furnished, with excellent staff service -friendly and polite.
Very quiet, Spacious rooms. Beautiful grounds. Perfect place to stay while in Umbria. Excellent restaurants with reasonable prices nearby. Pleasant experience all around. A/C seemed not to be working properly, didn't really cool properly.
Il Baio in general is recently renovated for Relais purpose and the whole area is very neat and clean and well taken care of. They have most friendly and helpful staff, excellent food & wine at dinner. Our suite was ideal for 2 adults, also clean and airy. Wide range of treatments at Spa and nice outdoor pool area where you can also enjoy lunch. The resort is some 8 km from Spoleto center which is very easy to reach by car.
Very nice staff. Free internet. Free parking. Very good restaurant, with reasonable prices. Just one comment: GPS coordinates provided on booking.com are incorrect (around 7Km away, better to follow the address).
Staff were very helpful & most welcoming. The hotel has The best locatio n in spoleto.
very comfortable; very helpful; close to Duomo: Breakfast was only fair
The location and helpfulness of the front of house staff
The view from our room was stunning. The hotel is very stylish. All the public rooms and areas are very comfortable and also have glorious views of the aqueduct and the beautiful tree-covered valley and hillside opposite the hotel. The staff were all courteous. We loved the experience of staying in this hotel.
Beautifully developed, spacious, peaceful, very clean, very nice swimming pool, relaxing and you are in the middle of the countryside. Staff (we only met the receptionist) excellent. Incorrect description on booking.com - now updated however as of 22 Jul 10 no gym, no massage, you need a car to go anywhere for dinner as none is available in the facility, very limited reception hours, more of a complex of rooms and suites rather than a hotel.
Beautiful resort, it is new so they have a long way to go to make it perfect. Restfull, car essential as it is in the middle of nowhere. Short stays better. Needs more staff on hand. The Gym and sauna are not presently working, but the intention is there.
The warm welcome we received on arrival and very good cuisine.
very nice and friendly owners! nice pool and very clean room. hotel is rather hard to find, you need a GPS!
Quiet, relaxing place It was a bit difficult to get hold of the owner, but they gave us a discount for that inconvenience, so no problem
Lovely friendly atmosphere, run by delightful owners, very freindly and jovial staff. Abundant good food and above all moderate prices.
A historic building in which the owners have thoughrt of every modern comfort and give the warmest of welcomes. Magnificent views,
The staff were wonderfully helpful and cheerful. The scenery and setting was as good as you will get anywhere in the world. Not really. The approach road is not easy, and anyone with a big car would struggle.
An interesting location and hotel, full of history and in a fantastic position with fabulous views. Well worth the drive up the hill to find it. The evening meal was a little limited in that it did not cater for a vegetarian option. I am sure that this could be arranged if prior notice was given.
The room was spotlessly clean. Bottled water was available. There was a restaurant and a snack bar on the ground floor. Breakfast was quite good and served for 4 hours (7-11) each morning. The hotel is some distance outside the main town and, though there is quite a convenient bus service, this does not operate on a Sunday.
The hotel has got a very friendly staff which helped us out all the time we needed assistance(for example to find certain places in the city). The rooms were clean and the breakfast was very good. All in all an absolutely recommendable hotel!
very good room, hotel and restaurant. the staff and owner was very kind for us. It is possible to use for free sport swimming pool at hotel nearby (10min by foot). easy to find parking place near hotel, and for free outside city walls (10min by foot). discount for dinner at hotel restaurant. i like this place very much.
we liked this hotel pretty much. Someone seeing the front desk wouldn't imagine the confort and good taste in the (simple) rooms. The breakfast didn´t have enough bread for all the guests.
quiet, peaceful stay with wonderful outdoor patio area with countryside views, yet so close to town, easy to drive to, wonderful staff and very delightful rooms and decor of common areas
This is a lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. The owner is very helpful and speaks english. We had breakfast on the patio. It was very good with pastries, cheese, ham and local honey. The hotel is about 15 mins walk from Spoleto. We had a wonderful stay here.
helpful proprietess blind exit on to road
Lovely view from hotel across countryside. Available car-parking. Had to remind owner to turn hot water service on.
The owners were very helpful, the breakfast was wonderful and different each day, the room was spacious and bathroom very large. The owners provided clean towels, soap and shampoos daily and the option for laundry services was on the premises. We enjoyed speaking to Anna Maria, Angelo, Eduardo, and Michela. A very relaxing and memorable stay. We would highly recommend to others. The owner was very helpful in facilitating transportation within points of Spoletto. However, because of the romoteness of the hotel, one would be better served if they had a car. Getting to the hotel with public transportation is not possible.
We felt thoroughly spoiled during our stay at Albergo Villa Cristina. We had a wonderful time, it was like being with family. The room was spacious and clean, breakfast was good and the location, just out of Spoleto was perfect for us. We will unreservedly recommend this accommodation and would like to think we might be back to visit again one day!
Nice location, beautiful view, 15 minutes walk from Spoleto town centre. Nice room with good facilities. Very friendly management. Picked us up from train station and brought us back the next day.
A very comfortable suite at an excellent price with a good view of Spoleto. Very tastefully furnished and spacious. Good breakfast with their own honey, elegantly served in a lovely breakfast room. Also some good sitting areas outside. We had our dog with us and there were places to walk her right from the hotel into the countryside. Nothing
This place is in the heart of the Mountains, with some historical sites. Perfect for trekking. Very helpful staff. Not AMEX friendly. It was cold a bit though, for April.
Welcome and hospitality of all at hotel excellent. Good sized homely room. Well situated for walks to all historical sites of the town. Good bars and restaurants within 5 minutes walk. If arriving by train at Spoleto station a bus runs to Piazza San Domenico (Just before Piazza Collicolo),route Circulo `D`. Tickets can be bought at the station bar or newspaper shop.
The Location and general atmosphere
the staff was very attentive and helpful, good breakfast. the hotel, as the whole city, is under maintenance. That meant that I got a room in an annex rather that at the hotel itself.
Air conditioning, parking
The staff were extremely friendly and accessable. The room was very large. Breakfast and bar were excellent. Beds were too soft.
Staff was exceptionally kind. Lobby beautiful. Good-sized room. Breakfast was nothing out of the ordinary but well stocked and endless, decent coffee. We stayed in room 21. Housekeepping was pretty bad. Glass tabletop had not been washed for days and was encrusted with food particles and sticky substance. Detritus from previous guests left in shower stall and in mini bar. No electrical outlet in bathroom. Mattress old and creaky. Would recommend with reservations.
For nights 2 and 3 good room in main building . We booked for 3 nights and arrived at 15.15 the room was not ready. The room was bare with inadequate storage, bed clothes and was cold. We requested another room immediately but were informed none would be available till next day. Breakfast coffee and tea always look warm
The location and service are all right. The room they gave me was really really small.
Hotel Charleston is a very good small hotel, well located in the centre of Spoleto. Nice outdoor terrace for breakfast. Very helpful staff.
Pleasant and helpful staff Breakfast was adequate but should have a wider selection of basics - Rolls etc
secure parking area
Room could have been cleaner, room small, bathroom smelly, fairly noisy position, no restuarant, breakfast minimal. Not good vale for money at €80. Compared with other hotels we stayed in on this trip, this shoulkd have been nearer the €55 mark
Nice room, quiet. I thought it was in the historical center.
The friendliness of the whole place, their whole attitude was welcoming
Very friendly staff that let us check in early. We had a nice balcony room that overlooked the piazza and fountain below. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the train station and well situated to visit the historic parts of town. The hotel staff offered us information on the nearby attractions and gave us directions on how best to walk there. We recommend eating at the nearby Osteria del Trivio for a delicious meal in a charming atmosphere for a good price.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel is very centrally located - easy to get to the train station, local walks, restaurants and shopping.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Very near to train station and tourist attraction places. The bathroom has a unpleasant smell.
Location Noise from the street
I enjoyed the big bed, the view from the breakfast window and the nice behavior of the employers. I think that the breakfast in comparison with the hotel price was a bit poor. As well as the internet connection was very slow and the pc very old.
Central location, very friendly and helpful staff
location, atmosphere, the restaurant in the hotel, the stuff. in short - everything
Eating on the terrace with unbelievable views od wooded valleys.Friendly and unstuffy staff and management. Excellent food and wine. Swimming in a beautiful swimming pool with vistas on all sides. Very well appointed rooms. Not applicable.
Gorgeous hotel. The junior suite we stayed in was absolutely stunning in all aspects (we loved the Italian-antique style decor). Very very clean and the staff was extremely friendly and treated us like royalty. The hotel is situated in a small farming community in Umbria so it's completely tranquil and the views are stunning. The location is a little hard to get to. I would recommend taking the bus rather than a taxi because we spent around 30 euros on cab fare from the nearest train station (Spoleto). The restaurant at the hotel was also a little pricey but we didn't have many other options considering the remoteness of the hotel.
Casale Urbani is a beautiful secret place tucked into the mountains outside Spoleto--quiet and charming. Loved everything about it!
