Friendly, efficient staff. Lovely atmosphere - lots of family groups. Felt very genuine and obviously well liked by a regular (and Spanish) clientele. Location across from beach was wonderful as was the view from the bedroom and the sea air. Food was a little average but that did not detract from and enjoyable stay. Parking, like with many hotels on the Coast Brava, was a bit difficult on arrival but the Rosamar has a good and secure outdoor car park quite nearby.
Nivel hotel close to the sea, ideal for families and quiet people. Quiet charm pool and large bedrooms. Not very modern though charming.
Fantastic Hotel. Staff really friendly, its in a central location right on the beach, plenty of choice for breakfast and the pool are is amazing, really relaxing. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
It was great, just in front the mediterraneo, not really near from Palamo's cntre, but that was not a problem if u go to the oposite direccion you will find the most amazing beaches insted.... no,it is really nice.
Location is excellent. Facilities Noise of revving motor bikes at night and explosions of crackers thrown into grounds at night
Quite Location - Relaxed Athmosphere - Nice Staff Charged me €5.00 a day to park my car
Friendly staff. Good food at the hotels own restaurant.
friendly staff, location right on the beach, beautiful view from the balcony, generous breakfast, convenient parking
The staff was incredibly helpful and considerate. Breakfast was included, and was lovely. The location is unbeatable. 30m from the beach and right at the start of some incredible walking paths along the coastline. Room was clean. Nothing extravagant about this hotel, bery basic, but done well. Has everything you need and is a fantastic value for the price. It's not really a dislike, but the bathroom amenities were a bit old and the shower head kept falling off.
Beautiful views. A lovely hotel. Dogs allowed in hotel but not on beach, but okay since big boardwalk to walk along. Fabulous location. Will go back for sure. Pool area was noisy with children crying/swimming, but that's okay.
Situated near wonderful small beaches Poor breakfast, expensive extra beds for children
Small homely hotel. Right on the beach front. Good selection of food for breakfast. Hotel parking.
Wonderful view from room of beach etc A bit far out from town, staff were not 'cheerful', decor needs some money spent on it, & 7euro per night car parking charge was a disappointing, hidden extra
The hotel is ideally situated about 15 mins walk from the town and commands beautiful views of the beach and cove below. As others have observed, the bedroom corridor needs new carpet which detracts from the otherwise quality feel of the hotel. The restaurant was disappointing but that wasn't really an issue as there is an excellent choice in the town.
The staff were very good, friendly & helpful, especially in helping us with our air carrier who lost our luggage. The noise. It is on a very busy main road, which was being re-paved at the time we stayed there. Ask for a room off the main road.
Room with sea view was spectacular. The hotel is built on a cliff with a golden beach (coarse sand) beneath it. Reception were very helpful and friendly and the room rate was very good indeed. The room was very comfortable and relaxing. Attitude and working approach of the breakfast staff left a lot to be desired. They were noisy, sullen and on the first day when we were late down to breakfast one of them was very hostile. This would not be acceptable in a 2-star hotel and much less in a 4-start resort. In addition, why does the hotel charge for overnight car parking? This may be common in some hotels, but was unexpected for us coming from Ireland.
Nature, location, room price, breakfast..... drainpipe to sea, internet costs
We stayed at a triple bed room which has fatastic view, we could see sunrise from sea on the bed. Blackfast and dinner was nice with reasonable price, we will stay the hotel again in case of visiting San jose again. highly recommended. Wifi is available only at public area/
The wonderful situation of the hotel abit rnu down in the bedrooms section awful coffee for breakfast
The view from the room over the sea, beach, rocks and pine trees is stunning. One of the best breakfasts I've had in Spain; really lovely lounge, bar, terrance and spa. Unlucky they had a wedding party on the Saturday we were there but they stopped the dancing at 11.45pm so very good really.
The staff were caring and helpful. The view of the sea was amazing. Strange smell in the room(not too bad).
Great location, comfortable room. Good breakfast. Restaurant expensive with very small portions. (Not for a hungry golfer). Bar closed at 12pm
due to a fire the week before the hotel was closed, for a few weeks booking . com should have know. It is a fabulous hotel otherwise the staff were amazing , we had the best ervice and the hotel all for ourselves , but of course no facilities that was the only reason we went to that hotelfor our wedding anniversary , we will be back next year definetly
the view of a construction site.
helpful staff, spa restaurant didnt have half of dishes and vines mentioned in menu; beach is too small and not kids friendly, we had to walk to other beach
Hi,I spent 17 days in Spain ( 30July-16 Aug) with my wife and son (9). Booked Cala del Pi. We were really upset, becouse this hotel is pretty far from being 5* grade European hotels. There are several reasons: a. sound insulation is the worst I ve ever seen. You can hear everything is going on in rooms around your room, and also how the housekeeper cleans the upper room in 8-30 in the morning. b.
The relaxed friendly atmosphere, spending the day in a bathrobe if you felt like it, great breakfast selection and beautiful views of the sea.
The staff ~ friendly, helpful and professional. The hotel ~ Clean, fresh smart but cassual
Wonderful breakfast, perfect rooms and service, always a pleasure to be there

Near to Playa D'Aro and fronts directly onto the beach although difficult to access. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast staff the opposite. Good sized room with terrace and sea views. Luxury fittings throughout and unusually furnished and decorated but all quality. A good four star hotel but not quite a five. Fairly small bathroom for all the fittings provided. Expensive for dinner served in comparatively small restuarants. Hotel not geared for children which suited us. Bedrooms overlook terracing to bar and restuarant areas which could prove noisy in season.
The hotel was just amazing, 5 stars in every respect. The spa was first class, the views from the pool were so nice, and the private beach cove was also really cool. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful. Overall, one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in, and it's unquestionably the spot to stay in Platja d'Aro if you're looking for something upscale. So what are you waiting for?!? Only slight negatives were there was some construction that blocked our ocean view from the balcony, and the a/c unit wasn't working properly so the room was hot and dry during the night (which probably would have been fixed if we'd noticed the problem before midnight).
The location of the hotel The room was far too small and a bit noisy
very pleasant environment
The restaurant was on the pricey side and parking a little difficult.
Beautiful setting.Fantastic bathroom with jacuzzi bath and shower.Made our two dogs welcome. .Coffee machine confusing in the restaurant for breakfast and no help from staff.
The hotel has lush grounds with views of the sea, a big pool, and good access to the walking path around S'Agaro, which must be one of the most beautiful strolls in the world. They were also kind enough to store our bags and let us enjoy the use of the grounds after check-out time.
breakfast was excellent, also the bar and restaurant, and proximity to sea room was rather small
The position The receptionist didn't ask for any confirmation document until after we had gone to our rooms. Then there was a demand for the number which unfortunately I had left at home. There was a suggestion that we would have to leave despite our names being registered and this caused a lot of stress. In addition because I thought that payment had already been made I was concerned that I would be charged double with the hassle of reclaiming. eventually agreeed that I would try and get in contact with associate. Spent a lot of time trying to get info requested from my e-mail account with no success. In morning we were advised that there would be no problem then when we checked out we were advised that we had to pay the bill because my original credit card had been used only to guarantee booking. There was a language difficulty but if the staff had explained that fact earlier it would have prevented a lot of stress especially to my wife and guests. I still don't undertand the importance of us having the confirmation number as the hotel had all the information from you and they copied our passports.
The location is great. Antique furniture which makes it all very romantic. Clean. The hotel is surrounded bu pine trees, a fontain at the entrance. The room was very modest for a 4 star, but the bathroom was new and clean. TV was vey small. The sunbeds around the pool are worn-out. Breakfast is limited to minimum necessary.
The Hotel S'Agaro is just across the street from the beach, so the location is wonderful! We could see the ocean from our room, and would have had even a better view, except for the beautiful huge trees in the garden and on the grounds that create an exclusive feel to the hotel. The breakfast buffet was the best I'd experienced in Spain. The maid was a sweetheart; so friendly and helpful. Even though she couldn't speak English she went above and beyond to help us out. We had a quaint little balcony, large enough for two chairs and a small table. The bathroom was quite large. There was only one computer available for patrons to use for internet access, and the internet was very, very slow the night I used it. The cost of using the internet was one euro for 10 minutes, which I thought quite high considering the slowness of the internet access there. I wanted to print my boarding pass for my flight home the next day, so there should have been a printer available, but there wasn't. The "standard double room" has only one double bed, and the room was quite tiny.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was lovely with the large gardens, pool and sea views from the terraces. Breakfast buffet was very good. The fact that if you don't have a room with a pool view you are then looking out the back of the hotel to other buildings and a view of the hotel's solar panels, and have to suffer the noise from deliveries into the tradesmen's entrance.
beach, city, space around hotel and pool, food ... disproportion number of people and services/facilities, time cleaning rooms and incomplete change equipments in bathroom
The location was very good and the hotel was a good price for what it is.
Views from room were fantastic and location very good. Female bar staff were rude, very expensive for drinks.
It was quiet enough as I stayed here due to business. Communication was a problem as I don't speak spanish and staff engish was very limited. Food repetative, but if you were prepared to wait and queue for the duty chef to cook fresh it was good but still repetative.
Location right on the beach and close to main street of resort area Chaotic at meal times; not enough staff to clear tables. Also, terraced area outside restaurant should have been washed daily due to spillages.
the room, light & airey',and very clean airconditioning, plenty sun loungers, no etertainment,. bar to small.
we got moved here from another hotel that had decided to close for the winter, good food and nice staff. don,t think I would come in hight of season. a very small pool area for amount of rooms, could be busy..we will use again though as we have a house in france and like to visit spain for a few nights off season would have liked wifi in roms as well as public areas
There was one lovely man at the check in desk... Spent two days in summer without aircon. Reported to the staff four times without any result. The stench of breakfast made it inedible. The dining room was like a herd of cattle at feeding time. The pool was so crowded with screaming children we did our best to avoid it all times. Beach was overrun with package tourists. Have travelled through Europe for ten years and have never experienced anything like it. We were promised a reduced rate due to the aircon problem....but on check out noone seemed to be able to provide this....
Rooms fairly clean and comfortable. Food hot and varied. lots of French, Spanish Dutch & German guests so problems with noise. Packed lunches very poor. Floors in busy areas washed at busy morning period (dangerous). Car park charge extortionate and unneccesary.
We toured around the coast and eat out We would not recomond the breakfeast , we went across to the local bakery for ours.
Great breakfast. The rooms were very large, clean, and comfortable. They have a great pool and are a 2 minute drive from a beach or about 15 minutes from nicer beaches in Begur. Overall this was a great escape. We were there mid-week. Things seem to get busier towards the end of the week with weekends breaks. Work around the grounds (mowing grass, etc) should be done at times when guests are not trying to enjoy the pool. This may have occured because we were there mid-week and it was not very busy. Hotel staff could be a bit more knowledgable in suggesting places to dine in the nearby area.
Delightful hotel, wonderfully stylish, very classy. The couches in the lobby are great for a cosy reading session. The bikes were very handy for the ride to the beach.
Beautiful and peaceful setting. Excellent lunch and attentive staff in the restaurant. Used hotel bikes to cycle to the beach Quite an eclectic style which was not to my taste. Outdoor swimmming pool not heated
It was a beautiful hotel, the building and fittings are top class and the position of the hotel was just what we were looking for, peaceful quiet with lovely walks all around
one of the most beautifully appointed hotels ..elegant, stylish and so very well-maintained. It isn't convenient for those who wish to be near other facilities. No options re: food unless you have a car and can drive in and out to Palamos or one of the other nearby towns.
La Malcontenta is a very charming hotel, where you find a very quiet environment, an historical building renovated with style, very comfortable suites, amiable and thoughtful staff and a wonderful garden with swimming pool. We enjoyed the place tremendously. We just regretted not to be able to stay longer.
golof, sun, sightseeing, eating slightly understaffed
Airconditioner did not work
it is very relaxing and beautiful surroundings
The location is very tranquil although I think that was because the hotel was quiet when we were there, it would have been a very different scenario during school holidays. The decor is interesting and the pool area looks very nice, and the gardens are well landscaped. The reception staff are 'cold' and not very professional. Also the restaurant food has gone downhill since our last stay 18 months ago.
The night receptionist was super helpful when we needed to print out a boarding pass and were having trouble with the internet connection. The seaview from our room was beautiful, but the hotel is very basic otherwise. We came in mid-October and it's probably a much nicer stay during beach season. Free parking along the street jut outside the hotel. The afternoon receptionist was friendly did not seem to know the area well to make any recommendations about what to see and where to eat in the area. We came in mid-October and the hotel was deserted. The hallways, staircase, and lobby were unlit and made us feel very uncomfortable walking through the hotel in the spooky dark main areas. There is no gym and internet is only available in the reception lobby. The area is a beach town and felt like an abandoned ghost town when we visited.
Not a lot! Food was poor, cold, poor presentation, selection for breakfast same each day, poor bar service, SKY News was not available
Good hotel in a great position - all areas modern, clean and airy - sea view rooms worth paying for. We stayed at the end of the season so only few restaurants were open in S'Agaro. Lovely coastal path walks. Very disappointed with the food in the hotel. Breakfast was fair. Had one evening meal and thought choice and quality was poor - we ate at the beginning of the buffet time and the food was not hot - did not eat at the hotel again.
Location, actually on the beach, good sea view, free internet and excellent breakfast choice The pool was freezing would be nice if heated during cooler months but beach was excellent so swam there instead
Excellent buffet breakfast. Lovely pool and view of nice beach. Off seasonso nice and quiet. Beautiful coastal paths. Very friendly staff despite negative comments we read on internet!! Sorry it closed for the winter months as we would have looked forward to going there for another off season break.
The location of the hotel was great, and so was the possibility to enjoy breakfast and dinner outside. The room was a bit dark and untidy.
The magnificant views from the rooms Hotel buffet dinner was particularly poor. Food was cold, quality of meat was poor and generally very bad value for money. Breakfast was good but tea and coffee poor.
Reception staff very professional and efficient and an under rather than over-designed simple clean modern interior space with a main building that does not dominate the location..... plus trees around it. Bar staff could be more efficient
Breakfast buffet is excellent with wide selection of food. Nice sea-view from the room. Silent becuse the hotel is upon the beach not just in front of the beach. Price is perhapse a little bit too high compared with other same level hotels because hotel is quite old anyway.
The hotel is lovely, situated right next to the beach on the Costa Brava in a charming small town. The staff are phenomonally helpful and friendly, and directed us to not only some very good local restaurants and bars, but also to locations along the coast that we very much enjoyed. Our room was beautiful, and oversaw a beautiful stretch of the Med. We would absolutely stay here again.
Fabulous in all respects - we stayed 2 days and it felt like a week Nothing
The pool and spa were excellent and its situation overlooking the sea and beach were just brilliant. We stayed in a suite which had no balcony and for the astronomical price we paid I would have expected one. The shower was over the bath and once again I would have expected a separate shower in a suite.
The place is enchanting. The appointments are exquisite. The location is fantastic! Great place for couples, honeymooners, romance....The surrounding area and beaches are phenomenal! The only disappointment was that the candlelight restaurant which they are famous for was not open yet. Considering that it was the beginning of July and the weather was fabulous, I do not understand why they had not opened it yet. The hotel staff was very nice and attentive, however, they were mostly new and inexperienced.
Grand hotel....room, facilities, and staff were excellent. no
The position of La Gavina is stunning with the swimming pool overlooking the bay of S'agarro. We love the old-school luxury mixed with genuine caring and friendliness from the staff. Considering they are struggling to get guests this season you would have thought they might drop their prices a bit - it's very pricey!
the hotel is beautiful with a lovely surroundings, the breakfast was good and we really loved the hotel. it has a wonderfull swimming pool and spa.
Very good pool area, with sensible regulations and lifeguards offering security and hindering sunbed reservations. Very good standard and cleaning on the room. Very nice design both rooms and area. Very high maintenance The that is served in the outdoor restaurant was of a low quality and very poorly prepared. A restaurant that ou only will eat at once.
The landscape was fantastic, very clean paths and a lot of pine trees. Swimming pool and hydro-massage are very nice. Send beach is not faraway from the hotel. Location of the hotel is fine. Kitchen facilities should be replaced with the new one. Four star hotel should be able to provide fresh towels each day, rather then every third day. Managers should consider some change for the garage entrance, presently it is not easy to get card reader from the car.
Very peaceful rural location, large modern rooms, great pool. The breakfasts were lovely and the evening meals were excellent - 24 euros for a 3-course meal and really fresh - a lovely place to stay for a realxing break. We tried to extend our break but unfortunately the rooms were all booked (only 14 altogether)
Lovely room with large additional lounge area. Very quiet location. The ham at breakfast was the best we had during our holiday! Restaurant was closed - we were the only couple staying- but the owner was more than helpful in telling us the best places to eat.
tranquility and lovely staff and very clean
The place, the comfort, the silence, the enviroment. Close to the main road, and enough far to get the silence and good air.
It was just as we expected. Very calm and peaceful. A good location for seeing much of the Costa Brava, and lovely to come back to at the end of the day. We slept really well becaise it was so quiet, and the breakfasts were lovely!!
Very peaceful, high quality feel, great location - we will go back
The owners were very friendly. There in no busy road nearby, so it is quiet and it is very relaxing to lay by the pool or have a short dip in it. Also the fact that there are a lot of olive trees and vineyards around made you feel being secluded from the busy world.
My family and I have traveled extensively throughout the world and without a doubt our experience at Ses Arrels was one of the best. The staff was incredible, the location was amazing, and the food was outstanding. The hotel was extremely sophisticated yet very, very, family friendly. Ses Arrels is a truely gem.
tranquility, but everithing its excellente. I stongly recommend Friendly but poor service
Very friendly staff, beautiful location, clean and comfortable, relaxing, would highly recommend
24 h service, friendly front desk staff
The ease of having teenage boys be able to run around safely. The bar right when we walked into the lobby. The buffet eating (even though it wasn't very good). The food was not very good. My pillows smelled bad. Room key issues the whole stay. Every day we had to get all new keys because they stopped working. Some front desk personal very unhelpful. Hot water issues in showers some of the stay.
The room I was moved to was far better than that originally allocated When I complained about the room I was first put in [windows covered with bird muck, and unopenable], staff said that I was allocated that room because I had booked on the internet and
Very little, thanks to a change of Management and in particular a steep decline in food and drink standards. The Hotel has gone "all inclusive"....a major mistake. Restaurant facilities severely declined and no waiter service or decent wines available. Food vey poor.
Not a 4 star hotel.rooms are 2 star, rest of hotel is 3 star
Just value for money... Very basic. Even if it fits the 4 star hotel requirements unfortunately you do not fell like staying in a 4 start hotel.
Reception staff were excellent and the location is good. The bar service was pathetic.
de sfeer erg gezellig de luxe van het all inclusive goede variatie in eten soms wat lauw maar smaak prima iedere avond entertainment geen klachten de familie kamer beetje klein maar om te slapen prima erg schoon
the hotel wasn't ready to welcomed guests and it lacks manteinance
Everything. the staff was very polite and helpfull, the room and the food was good.
excellent selection for breakfast, conveniently situated, close to beach and to tourist area. often had to look for service in the bar.
Conveniently situated, bedrooms spacious and light. Pleasant dining room facilities and excellent breakfast. all staff friendly and helpful.
General Ambience Dinner on arrival was poor, breakfasts ok (just average)
Comfort, Style, Peace ,Excellent breakfast Excellent lunches
The overall standard of the hotel was excellent. Our room was large, modern & imaginatively furnished, as was the whole hotel,- a pleasure to return to after a day out.The food both at breakfast & for an evening meal was superb. We really enjoyed our stay here & would not hesitate to return.
Decor of the hotel was very nice. Loved the style of the room and the large bed. Food in the restaurant was very nice. Pool area was lovely although unfortunately due to the weather it was not enjoyed. We were surprised to find that the bar in the hotel only opened until 10pm. This seemed far too early. Also there was often no one serving on the bar so you had to wait quite some time before someone came over from the restaurant.
the restaurant, size of room lift (elevator) were not smelling well
The quality of the hotel and the rooms was excellent. The staff at the hotel were surly, unhelpful and unwelcoming. It was not possible to get a double bed ( two single beds pushed together is very uncomfortable during the night!)
The hotel was very impressive with all areas being very stylish and the service was very good.
Comforting and relaxing atmosphere, attention to detail, spaciousness of the room loudness of the Dutch guests on a tennis tornament ( not hotels fault)
We were looked after as if we were family. A family member was taken ill and taken to hospital - the support I received was fantastic. It is all very well rate a hotel when everything is going well - the staff at Hotel Els Pins pulled out all the stops to help when I had a family crisis.
Staff were welcoming from the minute you stepped across the threshold. You really felt that you were on holiday, because they made you feel special.
Travelled as a company of 4... we were given a "family" room for the same price. It had 2 bathrooms and 5 beds and the room itself was really big, unexpectedly big i can say! It also had a split air conditioning system with a seperate setups for each of the room. Hotel has great location (around 50-70 metres to the beach). Hotel was quite both at day and night. One of the bathrooms was too small (it was not that convenient as the result). It was especially uncomfortable for such a person like me, who is nearly 1.9m tall. Another point was TV set - it's too prehistoric, though it is really a minor flaw!
The hotel is very close to the beach.
very nice place, good breakfast, swimming pool, location is great, 30 seconds from the beach
Especially the location, that it was very close to the beach and the possibility to park the car at a garage. The time at breakfast, when time was up we had to go immediately.
I loved the friendly ambiance and the food. No
nice people and very close to the beach tha hardest bed ever...food not too good
