Pros: Stella and Ettore make you feel at home, in the most comfortable and cozy way. The property and service are 5 stars, the dinner outstanding (one of the best meals we had in Italy) and the views breathtaking. Would recommend to anyone!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole experience was incredible. Great people, food and the villa and surrounding area was absolutely beautiful. Stella and Ettore went the extra effort to make us feel welcome and enjoy the Tuscan wine country. We loved the hiking routes, wine and olive oil tasting and pasta making class!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had the MOST amazing stay with Stella and Ettore. I was very fortunate to spend 3 nights at Villa di Capovento and it was a perfect experience. The facilities, room and pool are amazing. The whole property is so peaceful, relaxing and stunning. Everywhere you turn it is beautiful and makes you feel at home. Stella & Ettore were such wonderful hosts, extremely helpful and looked after anything you needed. The food was delicious and all locally sourced and home cooked. The 5 wine local tasting was a great experience and I also walked to some local vineyards while I was there. I wouldn't change a single thing and was extremely sad to leave! I will be back soon.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Couldn't rate this place highly enough. Food, views, staff and area are all amazing. A slice of heaven.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Heaven on Earth just amazing❤️ We will go back again and again!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Villa di Capovento is a gem nestled into the surrounding forests and olive groves. Ettore and Stella are gracious, warm and welcoming hosts. The food was delicious - main meals cooked by Ettore and deserts by Stella - winning combination! We can highly recommend a walk in the surrounding area with Ettore - choose one of the longer walks - the walk and lunch afterwards was the highlight of our time spent in Italy. We spent 4 nights and wished we had stayed longer. It was our first visit to the Chianti countryside and will definitely not be our last.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked everything about the place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is one of the most amazing places we've ever been to. Stela and Etoro, the hosts, are super nice, they prepared great food and the Villa's decoration is so thoughtful of details. This villa is amazing even before mentioning the location, but when you add the views and the garden & pool - you get a 10/10 place. The view of the surrounding hills is breathtaking. Can't wait to come back for a longer stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stella and Ettore made us feel at home from beginning to the end. Their grounded knowledge of the surrounding landscape, food and wine was amazing and was an extra trait of the stay. The building and outside areas where true to the Tuscan spirit and genuine bliss. We enjoyed the peace and quiet by the pool overlooking the wineyards and olive groves. Castellina City is a small drive away but the food at Villa Capovento made by Ettore was so tasty that all meals might as well could be enjoyed at their restaurant. Make sure to try the winetasting, where Stella will take you through the tasty local wines and give you insights on the art of wineproducrion. We also especially liked the free morning hike with Ettore, guiding us through the lands that’s been in his family for generations - an excellent way to digest the homemade breakfast, with both warm and cold options. A place truly worth visiting if you look for tranquility and genuine Italian hospitality.

Pros: All is amazing as usual, we came twice in 4 years, still as great as our first visit Nevertheless there is a change in ownership, let’s see if the place keep its heart and the initial vision, standard and quality....but there is one thing for sure, it will loose its soul when the current owner will leave.

We swung open the shutters in the morning to the sight of vineyards right in front of the building. A well maintained outdoor area with several levels, including a beautiful pool. So nice we stayed a second night on a whim. Grazie mille!

Pros: Paolo and Vale are two of the best hosts we have come across!
6.8 Good
Pros: The location of the property is set in an ideal location and this was the 2nd time we have stayed, but unfortunately will not stay here again.
Cons: The property has no AC and the heat surpassed 40 degrees outside and inside the rooms surpassed more than outside temperature. We expressed this to the owner and we even said we were happy to pay for the 2nd night - we were booked in for two nights but could only stay one night due to the blistering heat. However, to my dismay she offered no discount and was very happy for us to pay. The rooms are quaint but are far too cluttered. We will not be returning to this location again as the owner seemed to have little regard for returning customers. It was disappointing as our first trip there had such fond memories.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We spent a night in this adorable property upon our arrival in Tuscany. The hostess, Valéria, took care of our last minute booking with a warm welcome and we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The property is beautifully decorated with lovely vintage items, keeping the character and making it uniquely interesting. She is thoughtful and spares no efforts to make you feel at home, either by lighting the fireplace, booking a restaurant or a wine tasting. Although there are many options of apartments, suitable for different needs, we have chosen a large, cozy and vintage bedroom with private bathroom and fireplace. The apartment is impeccably clean, the breakfast is well-prepared and thought in all the details. We look forward to come back and to bring our families with us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the history of the town and this unique bed and breakfast. The owners were extremely friendly and courteous! They were the charm of the place. We enjoyed our conversations. They are the sweetest couple and take time to spend with you. They called ahead and booked our wine tour with Castillo Verazzano which was absolutely the best tour in Italy! The morning breakfast on the terrace was fantastic and our room was spotless and nicely decorated with shutter doors that opened onto the back courtyard.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very efficient & helpful also hosts have very good english. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast excellent with home made produce everyday. Extremely hospitable people, super friendly, could ask for anything more. Beaut room with amazing views.

Pros: Paolo and Valeria very friendly. Excellent location. Magnificent view from the terrace to Tuscany surroundings. Located in the heart of a picturesque medieval village with nice restaurants.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: wonderful location with a great view from the terrace where we had a delicous homemade breakfast. The room and its furniture is amazing in retro style and charming details. The hosts are absolutely great and they made us feeling like at home. The village is ideal located in the middle of tuscany to visit all regional places of interest, quiet but still with all infrastructure.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We had an absolutely lovely time at Paolo & Valeria's amazing establishment. Upon arrival we were greeted with a lovely introduction to the building and were given complimentary glasses of wine and Tapas. Amazing! The views are stunning and it's a quiet, tranquil piece of heaven.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved that it was conveniently located not in town, but at the edge of town. It is the best of both worlds, and a very short walk to Main Street in town. The rooms are very nice and clean, and each room has a flower theme. The view from our window was stunning. We had an excellent view of Tuscany and San Gimignano in the distance. Even though it is a B&B, the home must be very well built, as we never heard anyone else. We did have reserved parking right in front. This is a perfect place to use as home base in Chianti. There is also an outside patio that overlooks Tuscany and San Gimignano. Will be coming back to this B&B.
Cons: Our room had twin beds, and one of them squeaked.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect, it is near the city center.
Cons: Serena is very helpful, friendly and caring. She made our stay very enjoyable.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast. The sweet and warm hostess. The location. The very picturesque village. That it was possible to close the shades on the window to make it really dark but also to dampen the noise from the street.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Serena, the owner was very friendly and helpful. She’s all the time recommending us places to visit in Tuscany. The view from our room was superb. The B&B has a private parking. It’s one minute walk from the center of Castellina. I really recommend it should one wants to visit Chianti area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, spacious, clean rooms, with great views out to the Tuscan landscape and other hill towns. Great location as a base for exploring Tuscany and for being in a charming small Tuscan town with history, restaurants and shops. Very good breakfast buffet and fresh cappuccinos. This B&B is owned and run by a local family in the hospitality business for many generations. Serena was immensely cheerful, friendly, and helpful with recommendations and arranging transportation. After 5 days there, we were beginning to feel like part of the family, which we enjoyed very much. And to top it off it was a great value. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend this B&B to anyone visiting Tuscany— you will not regret it!
Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like! We were very satisfied.

Pros: This is a fantastic experience in Tuscany in every aspect, just fabulous!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location with excellent attentive staff who have attention to details. Also has a Michelin star restaurant!
Cons: About 30min away from Florence so really need to get a car to get to the hotel. We did not realize you cannot book a car on Sunday from Florence train station. Thankfully the hotel provided us with last minute complementary shuttle.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: probably the nicest hotel I have ever visited, the attention to detail was amazing. Great good, great wine and great views!

Pros: The whole experience was magical....hard to pick out one thing. Service, staff and surrounding area was so perfect.
Cons: Absolutely nothing.

Pros: excellent location, very charming property, staff very kind
Cons: everything was perfect
4.3 Okay
Cons: The internet very poor, spa is not complementary you have to pay is you want to use, there is no enough living space inside the hotel, if the weather is not good you dont have anything, there is no heater at the outside and there is no blanket either.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff, the facilities, the grounds, the gardens, and the scenery are exceptional. Everyone knows your name and preferences upon arrival and remembers it the duration of stay. Breakfast is incredible, and provides beautiful panoramas on the terrace. The hotel is very kind to children with kids slippers, robes, and other amenities. Any request you may have is made possible by a very gracious staff.
Cons: The only thing not to like is the cost. On a stand alone basis, the cost is very high for all things. However, it is a breathtaking facility and the value of the expense is seen in perfect maintenance and attention to detail.
7.5 Good
Cons: Hotel no smoker friendly exept very few rooms. no balconies. description of suite not accurate
6.8 Good
Pros: Beautiful hotel, stunning castle and scenery
Cons: Everything was extremely overpriced. I guess that’s what you get for an expensive hotel but you aren’t near a town so you are forced to spend a ton within the property, even water was extremely expensive. Would not stay here again - better off staying in florence as most tours start there anyway even if the tour takes you out to the country side. Instead we had to arrange for private car service to the tour meeting point since we were so secluded. Complimentary shuttle is a nice perk but only goes once a day so you are stranded until 6pm!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything is excellent! Location and the terrace is perfect; with the stunning views of Tuscan hills, vineyards and olive trees. Rooms are spacious, nicely decorated and clean! The restaurant atmosphere is very pleasant, specially if you can sit outside. The food is great and vine is superb - of course! The service is a real first class! Swimming pool is great, right on the cliff with the spectacular view. The Villa has a small SPA, very charming as well! The premises, though historic, are kept in a very good condition. Everything is taking care off. The owners are very nice and kind, willing to help and eager to fulfill the guests' wishes and extra demands. Many thanx to Giacomo for upgrading the room on our second visit, and for being such a great host! We will be coming again, that's for sure!

5.8 Okay
Pros: location
Cons: I made reservation for four (4) superior double rooms and got email confirmation. Two rooms where in main building, main entrance. One with side entrance from parking. Two of these rooms where on ground floor. Far from ideal but reception staff explained that guests who book via booking.com gets worse rooms (?!). Fourth room was in nearby building with entrance from local street outside property. It was less than half size compared to other rooms and bathroom was a joke. It was charged as superior double ?!. Our complaints made no difference.

Pros: It’s like a dream and a trip back in time.
Cons: There was a wedding party in the villa and it was LOUD
7.0 Good
Pros: Die Lage, die Personal ist meistens freundlich.
Cons: In our suite I found small things (buttons, old lipstick, etc.) that did not belong to me. For me, it means that the rooms were poorly cleaned and the garbage remained from previous guests. My husband was bitten by a spider or bed bugs at night in the room. Because of this, we spent most of the day at the hospital, as his hands were very swollen. He must now take a lot of medicine. We ask at the hotel to inspect the room and give us another one. At the receptionthe said us that my husband was bitten in the forest (outside), but we were not in the forest or walking. And they did not want change the room for us. We also wanted to reduce the price of the suites because of all this troubles, but the manager at the reception told us, we have to solve this with Booking.com. This is very sad, since we paid quite a lot for our room. In the toilet near our suite for two days there was no toilet paper, and the shower hose in our room was broken and one part of the shower just fell off.

Cons: No.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the typical Tuscan nature around with breathtaking views!
Cons: We stayed 2 nights at this bed&breakfast and unfortunately it didn't meet our expections. The price-performance ratio didn't match and paying 380.- € for 2 nights, it's simply overpriced for what it offers. We can compare this with other hotels of similar price segment in Tuscany. The area around the hotel is very nice, silent and in the middle of nature. We had the deluxe double room, which was quite small, but clean. Bathroom was small and tight, and we had difficulties to have shower in the narrow tube (we are tall). There was a persistent smell of old refurbished wood in the room and we had to keep the windows open, since it became disturbing at some point. The breakfast was quite limited, nothing special and if you wanted an additional coffee, you were immediately informed that you will be charged (since only one warm drink was for free). If you needed an extra change of towels, it is 9 €. If you needed towels for the pool, it is 8 € per towel. Actually, for such a price per night, all these extras should be included and not additionally charged. Most of the guests wouldn't be using them anyway.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great teracce, garden, enterier as well as whole property. It’s very well equipped. Beds are comfortable.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A truly beautiful villa and winery, built in 1126 so full of history, restored and maintained to a very high standard. Superb restaurant Osteria 1126 (suggest you book in advance - it’s very popular for dinner). Breakfast was lovely, outside in front of the main villa, overlooking the pool with stunning views. The pool was so refreshing with enough sunbeds while we were there, and great views. Thete’s also a lovely short walk up an avenue of cypress trees to the top of a small hill covered in grape vines and olive trees which we walked freely around - along with deer visiting from the woods. Also, stunning views to St Gimignano from the top. Our room was just above the restaurant which was very convenient. It was actually an apartment with large lounge, kitchen and really cozy bedroom up a spiral staircase. Air-con both upstairs and downstairs. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We recommend the wine tour and tasting - the wine and olive oil produced at Cinciano is all delicious - the wine-maker is very knowledgable, helpful and friendly. The location was great for getting to Siena (c.35 mins), St Gimignano (c.30 mins), Florence (c.1hr), Pienza in Val d’Orcia (1.5hrs), and just 1.5hrs from Pisa. Plenty of free car parking space in the villa too. All in all we had a fantastic stay, thank you very much Cinciano!
Cons: Nothing. If I was forced to find something to say, it would be that the shower was adequate. That’s it! It was absolutely functional, just not gushing.

Cons: Hotel location is not well marked in Google Maps. I focused on the map navigation and missed the hotel reception even if we passed through the hotel :)

Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, estate and restaurant. Cottages for guests were quaint and spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: Two single beds put together to form a double bed, uncomfortable night’s sleep. The room was too dark at night.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Super place. A good base for visiting some of the attractions of the area. The adjacent winery runs daily regular tours with tasting. Recommended. The restaurant across the road which they also seem to own is very good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a beautiful countryside villa with a gorgeous restaurant across the road with a beautiful view of Siena. The staff everywhere was amazing. The room we stayed in was a main entrance to a living room and kitchen with threee bedrooms including own bathrooms. So this is perfect for sharing w a family. The room we had was new but had a cottage feel. Sheets were clean and crisp, birds were chirping as we slept. A very peaceful place to have a nice calm wine/countryside visit. The food was amazing and breakfast outside on the restaurant terrace was the best!
Cons: The only thing you must be prepared for is there isn’t anyone to really help with your luggage.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is in the stunning location. The views were beautiful. There was a communal kitchen, you are not allowed to cook there but you can use crockery etc. So we even had one night a supermarket selection plate dinner outside on the patio. It is very quiet around there. You can help yourself to free water in the fridge in the kitchen which was very welcome because it was hot outside. The room had an air conditioner and had an interesting toilet a cupboard. The building definitely had character considering it was built in 1400s. Great place. The b&b also offer to use a lovely outdoor pool which is about a 10 minute drive in another village. It is straightforward to get to with explanation from staff but the road is a small country road so be prepared for a lot of dust on your car and be carful because the road surface can be very uneven in places. The pool is very good though. We did the wine tour at the local Fonterutoli cellar. The wine is great. We then proceeded to eat the Fonterutoli osteria, where we enjoyed more Fonterutoli wine. It is great how the B&B and wine and food is all connected.
Cons: The only minor observation is we would have preferred to have a shower in the room rather than a bath. Due to it being boiling outside, taking shower three times a day in the bath wasn’t very convenient. Also it would have been amazing to have an outdoor pool on site. There seems to be plenty of space in the village. I think this would bring much more business to the village in the high season.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We all loved our stay at Castello di Fonterutoli. We thought the location was wonderful and easy to get to Siena and surrounding villages with beautiful scenery. We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed our dinner very much and the breakfast was great, very nice sitting outside in the sunshine.. There is also a bar with drinks and sandwiches which we ate at a few times, siting outside. We had 4 rooms and 3 of which were in an apartment with use of a kitchen if we needed, which was a bonus. Very comfy beds in a nice big room and nice shower. We made use of the very nice pool with loungers and chairs, it is situated about 10mins away set in pretty gardens over looking the vineyards. The hotel offers a cool bag if you want to take a picnic. Definitely worth a visit if you have a car. We didn't have time to do a wine tour. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we would definitely go back and stay again if we are in the region!
Cons: Some of the choice of music in the bar which was quite loud at times, especially when most visitors were enjoying a quiet drink and food, it was a bit intrusive.
6.8 Good
Cons: No water in the evening and neither in the morning.some tips and map of the area would be really helpful, but wanst provided even upon request.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: - pool - the staff - food - the quite neighbourhood
