Very quiet location. Good breakfast. We had to call at home and wait for the lady at the reception to come and give us the room. Room a bit small.
It's a quiet and isolated place with a warm and cozy feeling. The clerk at the check-in was only waiting for us, and after she gave us our key to the room, she left and we couldn't find her until next morning for the check-out.
Cleanliness of the room and air conditioning During our stay we were informed at breakfast time that for the next two mornings they would not be serving breakfast. this caused us some inconvenience; so we chose to book out.
Good breakfast Twin bed not double as requested. Smoking room not non smoking. Room small
Peaceful village location Restaurant only open 2 days in the week for evening meals. (Very limited opportunity to eat out in the village). Noisy extractor fans outside kept us awake but the hotel moved us to a room at the front of the hotel which was much better)
The staff was very nice, beautiful view from the rooms, clean rooms, good breakfast. Very nice hotel, even better than 2 stars. Only when we arrived there was nobody in the reception and we had to call her.
Hotel room was clean and everything was in good condition. The breakfast was very good (additional 5 Euros, not included as indicated in the description on Kayak). In the lobby they have tourist information about the local area There was no one at the hotel when we arrived, just a sign with a number to call. However, our phones didn't work since we're from out of the country, and there was no phone available in the lobby. We had to go out and wander the streets until we found someone with a cell phone, which took about 20 minutes since it's a very small town.
Very authentic situation and a very nice view. The best breakfast in cataluniya. The hotel is situated in a very small village with no restaurants (the hotel restaurant was closed that night).
Simple, Excellent view, clean air No car parking next to the hotel
We asked for vegeterian breakfast, but it was almost nothing for us to eat in the morning, no fruits or vegetables, and no cheese or yougurt, just crossants and butter.
The village where Cal Sestre is located is picturesque but a bit of a tourist village. Lots of good hiking trails. Way over priced for the value of the hotel. The breakfast was poor with little variety. Noisy- especially one maid which we could hear on the third floor. Decor average. Would not recommend. Would not stay again. The affiliated restaurant was likewise overpriced and one of the waiters was very rude.
The ambience and the location. There was no staff in attendance when we arrived at 4.00pm, eventually after checkin, about 30minutes later, there was again no staff around. This situation occured again on Sunday where we had to let ourselves inside. Consequently, we couldn't access the bar, make or recieve phone calls nor ask for ask for any assistance.
Fantastic location; very friendly and helpful staff; excellent breakfast Room was very hot, and no fridge
Lovely location in very attractive village of Santa Pau. Great views from garden. Handy for walking in La Garrontxa and also handy for our onward trip to Costa Brava.
Good place for the money. It is clean and you have your own room with air and your own bathroom. The parking outside is easy and it is a nice small town with close proximity to the park. The walls are thin as somebody mentioned, although if you turn the air on I found it to be fine. I would definitely stay here again.
Great value for the standard of hotel...my partner loved the bathrobes! Great location...shame about the weather
Great room. Great breakfast. All was perfect!
Location was fantastic, overlooks the main square. Lots of restaurants nearby & an easy walk to the city wall. Rooms are large & very comfy, & even had a spa bath. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay.
the service & room were excellent. The hotel is extremely well located between the two principal plazas (on one of them) & there is plenty of parking on the plaza just in front. The town is a jewel, with just enough tourists to have several good restaurants.ewn (USA)
Its position and the very friendly staff I have stayed here several times and have noticed the quality of the breakfast has got worse anyhow in the winter
Location in the centre oif Besalu in corner os main square Shower needed repair.
Situated in a very attractive old town.
Location. Not expensive. Very old fashioned.
We loved the location, within the Besalu castle walls. Although the hotel was in a very old building, it had the most up-to-date bathroom and air control. The hotel desk manager was very helpful, efficient, kind, and a joy to speak to. We needed to leave early one morning and she had a snack lunch packed for us! We were charmed. The bed was not comfortable. Although it lists in room WIFI, it only worked near the front desk.
We loved the location of the hotel, which was very comfortable, with pleasant staff.
The staff is welcoming, the hotel has an old fashion and charming style just near the city centre of Besalu. the swiming pool of the hotel is perfet.
Staff friendly and efficient, breakfast buffet good value and good choice, restaurant food excellent. Room was comfortable and clean and we got the nice view we requested! Old town of Besalu 5 mins walk away.
Location is excellent, hotelstaff is friendly as well The beds were too hard, the renovated room was not so renovated..
very clean room and comfortable spacious. Relatively good value and staff friendly and efficient. directly on busy roundabout so noisy unless balcony doors closed. further from centre than i had thought - a 20 minute walk. If taking a car, leave it parking in figueres centre a problem during the day.
Nice old town Breakfast to late for Sunday morning.
The location was great and the swimming pool was great, also WI Fi was available as a bonus, not advertised. There was no air conditioning and in 40 degrees and no breeze sleeping was difficult. You get what you pay for it is cheap.
Nice quiet location. Splendid looking small town hotel. Lovely dining room. Nice clean and functional room. Very obliging staff. No warning of low doorway (about 1.9m) from passageway that leads from bedrooms - skinned my head on it.
A lovely old building that clearly had been loved in the past. The hotel did not seem cared for- the pool was filthy and the plastic chairs had been painted with paint that had peeled off onto one's skin. Breakfast was disorganised and food left out for flies to land on- simple plastic boxes would have helped.
Basic but clean and comfortable. Good bed and shower. Nothing.
The location The bed was pretty hard and the breakfast poor
