The parking lot The worst hotel in EUROPE, my room was unsecure for the entire week, the staff has very limited skills to resolve problems, the location was terrible it took one hour to get to Barcelona. I will never recommend this hotel
Internet wi-fi was a joke...No internet in the hotel or in the room . Stayed there 10 days and internet didn't work even once...
the internet they advertise is a joke, doesn't work on higher floors, but signal is so weak that you need a week to upload one...page..
Fantastic view and setting. Very nice pool. Friendly and helpful staff. Free covered and locked garage parking. Very spotty WiFi. Electrical issues in room. Missing light bulb. Disappointed that use of the spa cost extra money.
Familie hotel, friendly staff, relaxed atmosfere, bigger then average room, free wifi, nice view over sleeping villages in the hills around Barcelona, quiet neighboorhood - no problem to sleep with windows open, outdoor swimming pool, food 'a la carte' indeed expensive but they now offer also an evening menu at 13 euro (primero, secundo, dessert and 1.5l water bottle). For budgettravellers, bus 518 stops just below the hotel. Arrived at 17:00 and reception didn't know what room to give as they had no idea which rooms were cleaned. Basic breakfast.
Beatiful view over the village, fresh air, full day service of local bus to city Barcelona. Simple and elementar mountain-hotel.
The hotel was nice and quiet and really enjoyed the scenery and views
Simple rooms but good value. Restaurant has nice views It's a bit of a trek off the motorway
We liked the view from the Restaurant and room balconies. Food was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for the Manager/Staff to accomodate our needs. My duaghters room did not look as though it had been cleaned thoroughtly, but as we were only staying for one night we felt there was no need to complain to the Manager.
The view from our bedroom on the 5th floor was great. The staff really helpful and pleasant. The soundproofing is not great and made the rooms noisy. The restaurant was over priced.
Beautiful view from the balcony (Barcelona betwen the foresty hills), quiet. Easy acces to Barcelona by bus (bus station in front of the hotel). The closest train station to Barcelona (Sant Feliu de Lobregat) is 10 Km away (secure parking = 2.50 euros/ day). Difficult to find without gps. It is ideal to have a car and not relay on the bus service to go to Barcelona.
Excellent price/quality ratio. All rooms have balcony with splendid view.Bathroom fully equipped.Situation in the hills gives cooler temperature and breeze on warm days.Restricted pool and game area for toddlers.Buffet breakfast was a splendid surprise after having read negative reviews about this meal.
the room was not clean.
The cleanliness and the perfect service. It was hard to find the way to Hotel ,no any traffic sign for right itinary, so GPS is highly recommend !
We stayed for two nights. We needed a hotel that was easy to get to from the train station, close to Montserrat, and easy to be on our way to our next destination. The staff at the front desk spoke very good English and were helpful in answering any questions.
convenience of location we found access to the garage rather confusing
Comfortable fuss free hotel I was surprised to have to pay for wifi access - and expensively.
Everything was very cleen. Minibar was free and downstairs you can get free coffee/tea/coca cola. In breakfest - fresh orange juce and fruits, sweet rolls. Helpful staff.
Very clean and nice rooms There should be some place to sit and spend time just out of the hotel. Add two resting chairs and small table in to the room, strange to sit all the time in bed. Sirloin in the restaurat was old and spoiled.
Rooms No Bar
Centric location, free internet (cable), nice modern rooms, good breakfast, parking in public parking in front of hotel at a special rate for the hotel. Some places to eat nearby, but not too many. I can recommend the hotel 100%.
Very comfortable, central and near excellent restaurants. Also able to park in the underground carpark at a discounted rate.
Excellent Staff. Great location. Breakfast could be better
It is near to the town centre. The dining room was closed for dinner, there was no buffet breakfast on the first morning, if it had not been for the receptionist we might nothave had any breakfast at all, as the person on duty did not seem to care. Although we mentioned it, the handbasin plug in the bathroom did not stop the water escaping which meant having to run the tap constantly to wash hands or face!
Superbly located hotel on the town's main square - lots of restaurants nearby. Plenty of parking in large underground public parking adjacent. Very quiet because of no immediate road access. Access a bit difficult as there is no direct road access - but once you realise you have to go to the public car park first this is in fact a benefit.
Very friendly receptionist

Although not 4 star quality, a perfectly good hotel, with friendly staff and large, comfortable rooms. Perfect location within the town, close to bars and restaurants, but quiet. WiFi was not working the evening we stayed, and if it was working would have cost us money to use it. The pillows were not very good.
A Beautiful honey moon location. Eventhough we only spend a day there and it was not our honeymoon. We loved it, beautiful place to at least stay for 2 nights, the food is excellent. The staff are great, the owner speak fluent english. Very Private, very clean I would give 4.5 star for the hotel rating. The cab cost was 36Euro to get up there. Its a 25 min drive from the city of barcelona.
A quite hotel on the mountain. Not so easy for a taxi driver to find the hotel.
A great welcome by very kind people, beautiful location near Barcelona. Very comfortable and enjoyable breakfast and diner.
the quality of the food more information of facilities provided on arrival
The room was clean and the hotel seems fairly new and in decent condition. Loads of place to park for free including the hotel's own private parking, however was full when I was there overnight, but you can just park in front of the hotel with no problem. Good and strong AC to cool the room. Well, first the room (405) door made a terrible squeeling sound everytime it opened and closed, this is a 5 second fix with the appropiate lubricant spray. Second, the curtains didn't shut completely and I was woken by the sunshine coming in the room at 7 AM and had a hard time staying asleep along with the sound of the traffic around the hotel, lots of trucks as it's in a industrial area. The bed was quite hard and not comfortable to sleep on. This is really just a place to stay overnight, keep in mind it's basically a freeway hotel.
very helpfull and friendly staff WIFI terribly slowly
it had a/c and fridge and was very clean n/a
The website invites one to dine in the restaurant, one reason for the choice of this hotel. On arrival we were told that there was no restaurant, although one was physically present! This was perhaps because we were not in the busier part of the holiday season, or it was a change of hotel policy. Whatever the reason for the unavailability of a dining facility, we found it very disappointing.
price convenient to motorway - 500 metres
Welcoming receptionist who helped with all we needed. Safe on-site parking. Good value buffet breakfast. Convenient for motorway access
Very helpfull at reception
The room was quite big. 1. We booked in advance the room with one king-size bed (not 2 beds). Inspite of it we received the 2 beds. 2. You have to use the outside parking about 1km (not the problem but still...)
We just loved this hotel. The rooms were clean and had the most comfortable mattresses. Very clean bathroom and some toiletries. The breakfast was adequate, wish they had had some more fruit options. We visited the Monastery and took the funicular up to the top of the mountain, with spectacular views. The location could not be better, right next to the Monastery, and we got to stay in the "old" rooms. The rooms do not have A/C and it was quite hot in September. We left the window wide open and were able to sleep just fine. It was noisy very early in the morning, a lift truck kept going back and forth.
Pleasant hotel at the Abbey Square up on the mountain Montserrat. Excellent view, Restaurant with Bib Gourmand i.e. good food for a reasonable price. Buffet breakfast with plenty of choice. We visited off-season and for everybody who wants to combine a bit of contemplation in the beautiful abbey where a boys choir sings every night after verspers with enjoying nature (well marked routes) it is a brilliant place to get away too. After visting Barcelona for three days, two nights at the mountain appeared a perfect short vacation.
Clossness to trails and to the church Having a tree block view from window and construction noise that went into night
In the evening, after the tourists left on the last tram down the mountain, the peace was amazing. It is an experience you cannot get on a day trip. Our only regret was that we could not stay longer, since we were catching a cruise ship the next day. The room was neat, clean, and comfortable. After flying from San Diego, peace of the mountain and a beautiful mass refreshed our spirits. We look forward to staying there again, but next time we will stay 2 or 3 days so we can explore the mountain.
In the center of the monastery of Montserrat, facing the cathedral, but it is a normal hotel.Staying at the hotel allows you to enjoy Montserrat also when it is quiet and peaceful- before and after the swarms of tourists.Breakfast O.K. You may drive to the entrance of the hotel to unload or load your baggage, but then you have to find a parking space in the parking lot, which is not so close. Saying that - there is a "train" to take you back from the parking and to it. Parking costs extra.
Staff courteous and tried to be helpful yo overcome shortcomings. Airconditioning unserviceable.Expensively appointed but little thought given to functionality(eg one had to get out of bed to switch off bedside lights.Lighting system complicated.Noisy reformation of square right outside bedroom.
Charming staff. Nothing too much trouble. Very stylish and comfortable. Everything you could wish for. Very personal service, not a big anonymous hotel.
Very nice and helpful staff. Particularly the room service lady really wanted to do a good job: very nice, very helpful, with a big smile. I think she was an angel... Very new hotel beautiful interior and rooms, but a couple of details missing: a hook for hanging a used towel, a trashbin in the sleeping room, a normal height table for working on your laptop. All for simple convenience.
Superlative service which was committed to ensuring we enjoyed ourselves, outstanding food, and great value. Would definitely return. Nothing
The staff were excellent and very helpful. Perfect place to relax and the spa facilities were great. Fantastic wines and amazing location.
Great hotel with gorgeous view to the Montserrat mountain, cosy rooms with high standard facilities, spa, vineyard and many more. Totally recommendable for a romantic and relaxing stay.
Free wi-fi is very good! Rooms are clean and good size. Stuff are friendly.
Hotel and restaurant staff were friendly and accommodating. There was a problem with our rooms air conditioning on the first night but it was resolved the following morning through a room change that was effected without fuss or problem. There was nothing that we did not like about the hotel. People should be aware however, that the hotel was not designed with the beach / pool holiday tourist in mind and is on the edge of a large industrial estate (but quiet none the less). A swimming pool would have been a welcome addition but we found a fabulous 50m open air pool at Esparraguerra a few miles away.
As I went to breakfast at the bar next door, I was told it was too late for breakfast (8:45!!). Nevertheless I sat down and had breakfast with the remaining food from the menu. The waitress didn't understand one word English. She presented me after a while a bill to sign, altough breakfast was included! Anyway I didn't pay for this.... Spanish people: Please learn better English! ;-)
Staff were willing to help, although there were no irons in the rooms, the laundry staff provided this for us. At breakfast, some of the items would run out i.e coffee and this was not refilled unless you asked for it. Because the breakfast times are quite long, inevitably things do run out however they should be checked and refilled as necessary without the client having to run around.
parking Simple hotel with lots of future potential, everything is outdated like the bar, restaurant, reception, lobby, rooms, etc.. This hotel needs a proper refurbishment.
Hotel was new,HUGE bed!!! Great reasurant food 7 staff It was in an Industrial area very isolated if you had no car could be a problem
simple, comfortable hotel, not far from main road
i liked it all there was not alot of english t.v one chanel i think
It was very expensive and the food was pretty awful
The location is great, ideal for a weekend retreat
Nothing. We left after 1 night as we had to return home due to family emergency, but i think we would have moved from this place had we been able to stay in spain Location of hotel is wrong side of mountain to easily visit monastery in montserrat. Difficulty finding hotel.Carpets snd ceilings on 1st floor filthy with evidence of leaks.Painters and work being carried out as you try to find room. Room overwhelmingly hot as there was no air-conditioning or fan provided, therefore unable to sleep at night. No restaurant or food available when we arrived, breakfast very poor. This was the worst experience i have ever had when on holidays.
The views from the room, and the peaceful surrounding. The bathroom was not well maintained and clean. You can't open a window, as there is no A/C the room was hot during the night.
It was clear that this was a conference/training centre that offered odd nights as a hotel to fill rooms. The dining arrangements were poor (eg. dinner was a buffet served only between 8:30 and 9:00 pm with very limited choice of poor quality.) Thelift was out of action when we checked out. We had hoped to use public transport into Barcelona but the hotel is too isolated for anything other than using a car to be practical.
The hotel was so quiet. It felt like we had the pool just for us. The mountain in front of the balcony, the sun. You really need a good map, not a GPS to find the hotel. It's not indicated at all, but manageable to find still. The carpet was really old.
The staff was friendly. Pool was nice. Hotel was hard to find. Apereance was too blank. Not much things to do, only for sleeping. First room that we got was not cleaned.
Calm quiet and peaceful setting, hills and mountains and woods around, in a suburb about one kilometer from the highway, close to the mountains and Montserrat abbye, about fourty kilometers or half an hour drive from Barcelona, ask for a room overlooking the swimming pool. If You like the atmosphere of a conference place, maintenance dating back from the 1980's, very much needing restoration, and no good restaurant in about five kilometers, and the nearest historical town about fifteen kilometers away ...
The location was very convinient, all services we were waiting of offered, pool good evenso closed on the morning, we would have used it since it was summer and we were tired visiting and travelling. There is no air condition in the rooms, the windows could not stay open because of electrical light in front of the balconies.
Pleasantness and helpfulness of the staff. Excellent food and price. Proximity to Montserrat. Hotel rooms generally need an upgrade. Carpets were stained, tiles missing on balcony, chips in washbasin.
Setting. Would not like to stay more then one night.
pleasant, good food and service. 1 hour from the airport mosquitos
Beautifully renewed old building! An old mill where they have obtained the rustic feeling, and yet managed to renew with the tasteful touch of modern spanish and catalan design. The surroundings of the hotel should be better, and the food was too variable in quality to make the place a real pearl amongst hotels in the area.
Friendly welcome, helpful staff, free WiFi, peaceful location, stylish design, good food Rather bad design of shower/bath arrangement.
beautiful location and ambience. Excellent staff and facilities.
large comfortable room There are major problems with the electricity supply to the hotel. a generator has to be switched on by request in order to use the lift. Low voltage means the lighting is poor in the rooms (it is impossible to read at night)
It is a really nice and cozy place located in the rural erea, they have a beautiful restaurant called El-PaPa. The owner Carman is a very kindy lady, my partner and I enjoyed staying there a lot! We took the suite with full equipped kitchen, it is absolutely fantastic!
Reception staff were very welcoming, room and bathroom a fair size The room decor was dated and tired, I would have expected a more quality interior for the price paid. It was an okay hotel for an overnight stop on the way to somewhere but I wouldn't want to stay for any length of time.
I stayed for just one night. The room is a good size. The decor needs updating. The restaurant is overpriced and the main dish was not good.
Despite the modest price and 3 star rating this hotel turned out to be much better than I expected for a small Spanish provincial town.
Very expensive for one night. Also one of the reasons we picked this hotel was to have use of the swimming pool and this was not open!
Friendly stall but poor breakfast arangements
Parking, free wifi Food, noise outside, bad condition
When I requested to change the type of room, the reception parson accepted as my ordered smoothly. And I could choose BAR stayle or RESTRAN style for my dinner. This hotel address described on this page is not hard to find the hotel! It has better describe Carrer de Copérnico.
Good location if you're looking for a one night stop-over near Barcelona en route to elsewhere motel style parking - vehicle right in front of the room cheap given location and dates Non-existent sound-proofing between rooms of approximately eight light switches only two worked, air-con extremely noisy (perhaps this room - 124 - is due for renovation ?) service in restaurant very good, but food expensive and of very poor quality
Very helpful staff. Sleeping room and batroom were adequate for spending a few nights. Knowledge of English of staff could be improved. Rooms are sensitive to sounds from adjacent rooms and water pipes.
All is O.K. exept cold Very cold. Calefaction not working
Convienent facility. Not far away from Barcelona. Car by the door and it was confortable since I had a lot of lugguage. Soundproof of the walls. You can hear almost any sound of neighbors. Luckily there was only one neighborn during our stay.
Good Reception & Restaurant Didin't realise a Hostal was a Motel, a bit noisey,Restaurant staff spoke vitually no english and had to advise another English speaking couple to go to another restaurant as they could not underdstan each other. Directions should have read- 2km b4 village there is a Restopal petrol station, Hotel Torres is opposite
Rate. It is rather hard to find.
Had an excellent evening meal - separate payment.( No budget option). Room was very poor: handle broken, and eventually came off in our hands! Shower almost broken, dirty bathroom, very noisy air-con, but at least we had it! Wi-fi not throughout hotel - only in reception. Difficult to find-poorly signposted.
enjoyed the moment of newly renovated room... old room is not habitable...
We all moved it and hope to return next year. This is the perfect place to relax and the perfect base from which to explore the vinyards, pristine sandy beaches and Barcelona and Tarragona. Technically there is no restaurant but tris is not needed when the kitchen, BBQ and patio aré freebsd to use by guests avoiding the leed for expensive meals out. Rainer also cooks a fantastic Bbq once a week in main holiday season. Restaurants are around 5 minutes by car.
Simply loved it. Loved waking up with birdsong and the wind in the trees, loved the rich breakfast, loved reading peacefully at the side of the pool, loved watching the children playing together without having a common language, of all things loved best having a cold Penedes white wine on the new lounge sofa in the courtyard. Will be back soon, promised.
The guys who owned the hotel were incredibly friendly and helpful. They suggested some great restaurants and wineries to go to.
We liked the friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We rather felt being in the home of friends than in a hotel. We loved having breakfast in the courtyard under the mulberry tree. We felt very tampered by Rainer who gave us advice on a wonderful beach where we had Paella and booked us into small family winecellars. We found it quite hard to leave the pool. Wonderful setting.
Quiet location No restaurants
