Very clean, and quiet room, well equiped and confortable Staff very kind also A good price for value hotel in a nice area May be the simply "continental" breakfast, but it can be improved by request don't hesitate
Very friendly people
The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the room was comfortable and clean
The village itself is very calm and not much happens. However, it is a great place to use as a base to explore the major surrounding towns, in particular Ripoll, which is 10 mins by train from st. Quirze. Visit the famous ecclestiacal sites and have a fine lunch without having to use your car. The staff in the hotel are amazingly polite, friendly and helpful, smiley, (not falseley), and will offer to help in any way they can. Their English is great for non Spanish speaking English speakers. A culture shock for most people who use hotels regularly! For the price the food is excellent but dont expect gastronomique. Traditional, very well prepared and served which is what we wanted. Dont forget to try the ratafia bosch, a localally produced digestif which will remind you of cough medicines when you were a child!!! A great hotel in a great location overlooking the river. Ps. Saw, for my first time, a doting, resident Black Swan couple on the river daily.
Location and free on-site parking Evening meal facilities
The exelent view Dinner was poor
Nice hotel, very nice and clean rooms.
Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was excellent. Airconditioning was OK but took its time to make an impact.
Evening meal and breakfast both freshly prepared, tasty, copious and good. Maitre d' in the evening , Gerard, particularly helpful and friendly. translation from Catalan on the menu very welcome and efficiently done.
Lovely rooms, air conditioning, powerful shower, clean, comfy bed Was told the nearest restaurant was 10km away but managed to find a bar within walking distance that did food. Breakfast was an hour late in starting and it was difficult to check out.
Very friendly hotel staff. Able to have a smoking room if preferred and it did not smell. Parking was free and not 7 Euros per day as stated. Wireless Internet worked and was free. Good breakfast. Only a 10 minute walk from town. Raining and hotel staff lent me their own personal umbrella No English TV channels - would be nice it have at least an English speaking news channel! For the tennis and football however, it didn't matter! English people like to be able to make coffee in the room - but few European hotels offer this! Booking.com do not have the location right on the map (but I was aware of this but others may not be - it is near to the hospital and not the town as shown)
The room was very nice and clean and it had a big bathroom. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
It must be more clean,
A good hotel, close enough to the town centre, but far enough away to not be disturbed by it. Very friendly and helpful satff
Staff made excellent restaurant recommendations.
Very staff, very clean hotel, I`ll enjoy to stay again at this hotel. Was a very good option for my family.
inclusive breakfast, free internet, clean and very good showers, window that opened. no English channels on the TV, bit of a hike to downtown Vic
The hotel is comfortable and reasonably well located and it suited our group of five people.
The breakfast was good and cheep, 6 euros. There where free wi-fi in the room. Free parking on the street outside the hotel. The location wasn't to good. The room was nice but the hotel was quite old and havn't been renovated in years.
The service is very fast and practical. The room is simple but clean. The localization is not so special.
Excellent restaurant at very reasonable prices; fabulous breakfast; spacious room. Should there be anything to criticise it would be the restaurant being close sundays and mondays, whilst the advice to go elsewhere being poor.
Fabulous location and great facilties. The restaurant was outstanding and reasonably priced for the quality. Good storage for our bikes. Staff were extremely helpful and well trained. Breakfast was a bit of a let down - carton orange juice, some of fruit was way past its best . No one on reception on arrival - we had to wait over half an hour to check in
We like very much the desing of the rooms, the small details the have. The breackfast is very good. And is very easy to find it.
Great room- tasteful decour, spotless, comfortable. The restaurant was closed despite us checking in advance that it would be open. Since the hotel is miles from town and we didn't have a car, this wasn't good. We got a taxi into Olot, but we struggled to get one back. It added 50EUR to our costs. Wouldn't stay there again.
Fierce air con and smell of local pig farm; grossly expensive and few facilities.
Design of the rooms and overall appearance of the hotel is excellent. Staff was very professional and friendly. Breakfast excellent, well worth the money. Prices at the restaurant very good. Currently there is a lot of construction going on around which is not imputable to the hotel staff, of course, but it affects the experience.
Gorgeous rooms, excellent staff, delicious food. Reasonable prices in the restaurant, fabulous breakfast, tasteful decor. Loved it.
visit the places we used to stay on vacations 30 years ago
Hotel was very clean and very close to city center. Staff was very helpful. I stayed in a single room and it was extremely tiny. Facilities could use a renovation. And the bed too.It was a bit noisy too, you could even hear other guests drying their hair in the next room and the wheels of the carry ons at 6am.Internet was overpriced.Breakfast was not very good and a bit expensive.
It was a short strip to go to a wedding. so it was only somewhere to sleep, didn't go anywhere else
The situation of the hotel I felt the breakfast was poor
i like the cleanliness of your room and receiptionists are friendly and polite. if you could provide free wifi internet at your hotel
Internet was not working.
Toilet has only a glass door, which does'nt close hermetically.
Location is great, especially if you plan to tour the city and do some shopping.
Very close to train to Vall de Nuria Skiing resort. Good breakfast and good dinner. Helpful staff also when we needed emergency in the middle of the night. Room was very small. Bathtub was a bit rusty. TV is too high to see from the bed. Hotel information booklet is in Catalan / Spanish. Not all staff speak English. TV only with Spanish channels.
The hotel has the best possible location for the Vall de Nuria train, two minutes from the train station. It is divided into two buildings, we stayed in the other one than the reception. Rooms are small, so at least that part of the hotel is fit for a short and focused stay rather than a longer one. Breakfast service is ok, although not a very rich selection. We received a smoking room despite our request for a non-smoking preference. Odor was not too strong though. Internet did not work in that part of the hotel, so we had to go into the main building, which does not have an appropriate bar or sitting area, so this was quite uncomfortable.
the tv was very small and old and the hotel requires a prepay charge right with the order, even though the booking site it is written that it is not required.
Going on the train to Nuria and looking at the birds and flowers
Excellent family run hotel with lovely rooms. Jacuzzi on sun roof is really wonderful. The restaurant especially a la carte is excellent. No
pleasant staff, quality food at affordable prices, excellent location close to nuria valley, and sorrounding mountains.if you want to get away from city rat race.do it now.
The hotel is beautifully located, very quiet and there is a great swimming pool. The rooms are spacious, the views are great and food was good. Service at check-in was slow, room was not completely clean, info about things to do around hotel is limited. They indicate the activities but do not indicate distances, times etc etc. Prices of drinks and food at hotel are quite high.
Stunning location. Utterly peaceful and relaxing with lovely grounds and amazing views. Food was good and staff very helpful. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this paradour and hope to return one day.
We had a very large room. The dinner was good value! None whatever. The directions given by Booking.com was very hard to follow. But thanks to a police escort there we found it!
Fantastic view on the lake, a bit remore but quite easy reach from Vic. Very nice hotel, modern. The best breakfast I know in 4* hotels, varied and very good quality. Restaurant (evening) not really at "gastronomic" level. Staff not very friendly.
Beautiful location, a real surprise over the dam/lake.The hotel was wonderful, big rooms, view, could have stayed there forever. Sorry it was too cool for a dip, the pool looked so inviting. Thanks for the upgrade of room. We loved it. Good dinner and excellent breakfast!Recommended for families too.
The location was nice and the hotel was comfortable. The staff could have been warmer and breakfast could have been better.
Beautiful lake view though you have to book a premium room The dinner was mediocre.
The welcome was good, the room(with balcony) was excellent and the position and views were spectacular. Not over impressed with the choice on the menu for dinner
Magnificent setting, luxurious but relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, and because of its remote position it is a real 'switch off' place, although town of Vic and city of Gerona within easy reach. We would love to go again.
Incredible views of the lake, so quiet up there, loved it! The tennis court was closed, it just needs a few days work to be ok again, don't know why they can't be bothered
Very clean modern and new. Very freindly and attentive staff. The food was excellent. We walked around the village looking for places to eat, and eventually was directed back to our own hotel. The hotel could probably make it a bit more obvious that they served food. The Saturday 18th Sept that we stayed the village had a trash metal and trance music festival which went on untill around 4:30am. All but one of our party had no sleep that night. This may have been beyond the hotel's control, and they did supply ear plugs, but I would avoid that weekend, unless you want to go to the festival. The hotel was also a victum of its own success, and probably needed more staff at times.
The Staff is great. They are flexible with time and prices. Always available to help you and suggest you better plans to enjoy their region and hotel. The hotel is held by family memebers which add more charm.
From the moment I arrived I was made to feel exceptionally welcome. The hotel owners were charming and went out of their way to meet my requests for an early breakfast. The rooms were spotless, comfortable and nicely decorated with quality furniture and fittings. The restaurant was basic but the food great. This was simply one of the best hotels I have stayed in recently. Exceptional value for money. Nothing. This was a gem of a hotel
10 points for excellent stay, great cosy hotel, beautiful room. +1 extra point for very helpful staff, made us feel like home, helped organise our daily trips with very good advise ! Gracies ;) Nothing to dislike at all !!
Clean, modern and very nice room. Good facilities. free wi-fi in all rooms. Two free use computers running on Linux .... great !!!! Very friendly and helpful staff.
great hotel! great location! very nice stuff!
Only the location. The hotel is located in the direct proximity to the river. Unfriendly staff, poorest possible breakfast (better none than such), absence of air conditioning inside the rooms.
Location is good, and it was easy to find p-place for the car. The village it self very peacefull. The owner's son and his wife spoke good english and were helpfully as some of the waitresses too. Wireless internet in the whole hotel :D :D From the scandinavian point of view the breakfast was very poor; a croisant, one cup of coffee and jam and it was served from 08:15?? We didn't notice any pool, but the river ;P
Hotel was conviniently located to access the Val de Nuria railway. Room was of good size and clean.
The helpful reception, the comfort and cleanliness of the room and bathroom, its situation in the village, the busy street terrace juxtaposed with the waterfall and river terrace, the swimming pool. We appreciated their 10% discount on the narrow-gage railway tickets for the Nuria Valley. Free public parking close at hand. Ability to hear the shower in the room next door. Being awakened by the 04:45 recycling truck emptying the glass bottle bins adjacent to the hotel.
Central location and very clean rooms The room was a little small for 3 persons
lovely people, treated us very well, very good value
Simple, nice place to put your head while travelling. the room smelled from air freshener when we entered. If it's a nice day (and it was) it would be nice to have the window opened for short time before coming.
Very friendly and helpful staff - this was a family run hotel. We were made very welcome. Meals were good, and they were accommodating to requests re diet. Rooms were newly furbished in a simple style. Lack of sound insulation between the adjacent bathrooms and rooms and corridor - so every noise could be heard from the next bathroom and also from the corridor. New but tiny bathrooms which weren't well designed for the space. A real squeeze for a large person to get to the toilet!
There was plenty of space and, though busy, it was very quiet. There was plenty of off road parking right outside and, although the tone of the area was not fantastic, it was only a 10 minute walk into the town. There was a very handy supermarket right opposite (we were "upgraded" into an appartment rather than the room we had booked. But that was great for us).
To our surprise the room are small apartments with a small kitchen, bedroom, bath room and livingroom. Rooms are clean and the personnel is friendly and speak english. The hotel is a 15 min walk of the city center of Olot, which is a picturesque town with trendy shops and restaurants. The nearby volcano park offers a great surrouding for a walk along volcanos (very old ones which are completely overgrown by green and dont have the appearance of rough smoking mountains still hot from the lava below). A real pricewinner is the trip to Ribes de Freser were you can take the train to Vall de Nuria, a monastery build in a valley about 2000m above sea level. The train ticket is a bit expensive 20 euro pp (return ticket) but the ride is spectacular We had no negative experiences.
The friendly staff. Nice room.
the breckfast nothing
The staff at the reception and in the restaurant were very friendly and helpful. This made our short stay most enjoyable! The breakfast selection was generous, and it was delicious. The passages to the parking garage were extremely tight and also very steep into the garage, making it somewhat difficult to maneuver even our small car. However, this was not a very important factor in our stay, thus only a minor problem.
The rooms were okay but not sound proof. The bathroom was large and nice. The food in the hotel resturant was great!! No internet access in the room. No towel service for the pool or beach. We had to buy towels that we threw away because we had no room to carry in our luggage.
spacious rooms, food, location, bed service in restaurant (variable), staff seems to loose their good spirits on a busy night.
Good safe parking. In a rather "run down" urban area.
The staff was excellent and did everything they could to make our stay in the hotel a pleasant experience
nicely renovated country house. perfect for a weekend getaway.
Hospitality of the owners, extremely helpful. Maybe a few brouchers in apartment about the area and resturants, supermarket etc would be good. Possibly a MP3 connection on the DVD player so we could play our music as we didn't understand any of the Spanish TV channels.
Nice building and landscape. Really kind staff. The bed could be more comfortable.
Everything! The hosts were the most obliging and friendly I have ever come across. Genuinely warm and extremely professional. The building itself is absolutely divine, and is finished and maintained to the highest standard. The country setting is simply spectacular. I can not overstate just how much we enjoyed our stay here! A perfect 10/10 experience.
The location of the hotel is great ,though a bit hard to find.I recomend to put a big sign in Ribbes de fresser, on the main road near the train station which shall direct the guest into the right direction.
Friendly helpful, personal service, the décor which was interesting and different and above all the superb food especially the supper but also the breakfast.
Beautiful decorated interiors, lovely garden, quiet area, but most of all a very personal welcome and warm hospitality by the owners. A lot of attention for all details, and excellent dining! Also our three daughters of 7, 11 and 12 yrs old liked this hotel very much.
A very beautiful garden with small swimming pool.Perfect for relax. We loved the ambiance and the tranquility. Very clean and original room.
Family own hotel with the father an excellent chef and the son a fantastic host. We wanted to be out of Barcelone in August (cooler and less turists) so we could relax, well we did as they made our stay wonderfull. Some reviews mentioned that the pool is small which is correct but it did not matter to me as I am not an Olympic swimmer and it is still nice to dive in the pool.
A lovely restored mansion with traditional furnishings in colonial style. A beautiful garden with swimming pool. We loved the ambiance. Great hosts.
superb quality, friendly staff, amazing library. absolutely visiting again.
We liked the hotel very much, the lady who manage the place is so kind, the hotel and rooms are very clean. Breakfast is nice.
The pleasant atmosphere created by the family that runs it The permission you need to use the television
not modern hotel,no telphone in the room.everthing in the room very old.I think I pay to to much for what I get. all the hotel look very very old.we didnt like it
