The hotel gave us the feeling of quiet luxury, serenity and spaciousness. We loved especially the diningroom and the excellent service at lunch. Our room had a beautifull view onto the opposite countryside and lovely tranquil garden. Breakfast was ample and good but the service a little spotty at times. For the sauna it would be helpfull to install a wallclock in the changeroom and also keys for the individual lockers.
very good breakfast poor evening meal
The room was very nice, staff extremely friendly, breakfast delicious and in a beautiful location. nothing to coplain about
Breakfast was amazing, room very clean and a lot of comfort. We didn't use pool (too cold) but used gym and sauna, which were basic but nice.
We liked the views from the Hotel, the friendly and helpful staff and most of the food Unfortunately the Hotel does not have dedicated parking facilities, which for a Hotel of this standard is unusual. As the Town is very busy at all times of the day parking becomes very stressful.
Nice hotel.Clean and comfortable room. Quiet, if room is situated at the back of the hotel. Very limited parking. Despite the fact that the hotel is connected to a school limited language skills of the restaurant staff, no younger staff at reception, restaurant....is there a link with a school? Would like to see more youngsters.
breakfast no car park in hotel
The hotel was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The staff very friendly and helpfull and the food was excellent.
Very good hotel, access easy from Las Palmas
Excellent hotel, clean and comfortable. There is only an unpleasant remark to be done: there is a lot of noise in the morning (8.30am) done by the maids when cleaning the rooms nearby. They chat, laugh and knock on the doors very loudly. It is very unpleasant to wake up under such conditions...
good food,staff,and facilities
The restaurant, both food and service was fantastic.
This Hotel is so nice! Very convenient to go to new- and old-city center, ferry terminal. All of the Hotel-Staff was very kind. I greatly recommend this hotel!
Ample breakfast, quiet, relaxing, victorian embiance, cater for up market The casino was not friendly to hotel guests. Too mch questions asked, we wanted to try our luck but we turn around feeling disgusted.
We stayed here as sailing and close to the marina. The hotel was fine but not what I would expect from a 5 star hotel. It needs a bit of an upgrade.. Also my passport was stolen from my room, so I suggest if you stay here to lock your valuables up or take them with you. Valuables not secure!! This pretty much turned my long weekend in las palmas into a nightmare week having to get emergency passport and pay for another nights accommodation at this hotel. Apparently they are investigating what happened with the staff, but so far haven't heard back from them.
We enjoyed the lovely room and the spa. The staff was friendly and helpful, We found the drinks in the bar a bit expensive. The solomillo for the evening meal was done to perfection and reasonably priced but again, the starters were a bit pricey. For such a luxury hotel, we were disappointed to see there was no 'escargot' or 'chateaubriand' on the menu, and no fresh fruit for dessert. The breakfast bar was wonderful! We will come again. NO...we loved the hotel with all the antique furniture and the beautiful park.
Nice room + swimming pool + gym. Beautiful ambiance. Good location near to marina with nice restaurants. We expected a better service and breakfast (food and staff) for a 5 star hotel. Bathroom is clean but needs a renovation. Price - quality not in balance.
ambience Had a room without terracce
Attentive staff. Hotel ambience. Efficient check in/out. General courtesy
The bar area and dining room were not very hospitable and the staff could have been more helpful. The food could have been better
An extremely comfortable hotel, centrally located with excellent service.
Genuinely friendly staff, central location (very easy for buses to the beaches etc), decent views over the park, reasonable parking considering the city location, very close to the sea-front easy bus ride to city centre proper (shopping district). Rooms are very decent. Bit noisy - the double glazing isn't very good. Lots of street noise. Breakfast could be a tad better, but is pretty ok compared to some. Wifi is too expensive so just didn't use it - no lan connections either.
Location. Dining area on top floor. Pity abut the water which came through the bathroom ceiling, but it was dealt with promptly.
Its location and pleasant staff on reception Poor chambermaid and maintenance service. (struggle to get soap and toilet roll replacement and refridgerator repaired) They also asked for full payment on arrival (refused) and said you had not given them details of my need for a balcony or any credit card details - just a fax saying we we arriving.
Reception staff excellent. By design I mean design of rooms and bathrooms. Bathrooms very good with tub and shower. Hotel very good location for all public transport and taxis. The breakfast could be better, for international travellers no dark bread and e.g. no youghurt without sugar. But in the Canaries it seems that they only have white bread and a lot of sweet bread and cakes even for breakfast. Restaurant in the evening: food nothing to write home about. Staff: some fair some good some poor.
Very good value for money, excellent location close to the bus station, very rich breakfast bufet
Location, easy access to old town, near bus station No balcony furniture
The location and the breakfast which was excellent both in quality and choice.this was taken in the reatuarant on the 6th floor and had outstanding views over the city.
The hotel is very central, next to the bus station, very clean and friendly.
The hotel was very clean and modern and was very close to both beach and shopping area. The room we stayed in for the first two nights was very noisy but when we asked to be changed got a very nice room on tenth floor. The beds were very very uncomfortable....it was like lyning on a board. I also thought it was very commercial and not geared to holiday makers.
the location of the hotel is fantastic, it sits right on the beach and is near to all the shops, and bus routes do not think it is quite a 5* hotel, a very good 3 or 4
Very good position. The beach is at 20m and is excelent. During low tide there are almost no waves even if the wind is strong. Additionaly, you are IN the city, close to an intercity bus station, restaturants, shops, etc. Room equipment in most part aged. Very hard mattress. Toilet separate from the bathroom (and sink).
Poor facilitise lefts not working for week
I liked the location on the beachfront. The room service tray had ants on it.
Beautiful view!! Really nice and complete breakfast, Room clean and nice. Swimming pool time should be improved so people Can use it even in Night time
Close to the beach and city center, and very nice breakfast. N/A
Nice situation across from beach, free car parking in grounds, wonderful breakfast with breakfast cooking eggs, bacon to order, nice touch. I was amazed to see Champagne & Vodka was available on a serve yourself basis.
Wonderful breakfast buffet! Nice balcony with seaview, quiet although overlookong the promenade de la playa de las Canteras. Reina Isabel is the only hotel along the playa offering free beach hamacas and sombrillos for its guests. A big bed (double?) occupies most of the space in single rooms. A bed for one person would make it much more comfortable to move around in the relative small room designed for one person. - And I think it is time for the worn carpet to be substituted by a new and fresh one!
We have stayed at The Reina Isabel many times now and every time it is like coming home. The Staff always make a fuss of us and are so friendly. Luxury accomodation and service at a realistic price. We will return again and again. Yet again the breakfast buffet is the star.
Breakfast - Excellent clean-well-behaved service-excellent Teievision in room -Poor
Right on the beach, child friendly, great staff Hotel caters mostly for older guests, but can easily cater for young families, glass tables and split levels in rooms were a difficulty for us, slightly dated fittings
The staff were very nice and helpfull. We lost our paggage and they helped to get it from the Airport to the hotel. I loved the sewiev from 1st floor, because we had a marvellous nice own patio and the first floor there is parket floor in every room. The breakfast was magnificant! Everything was so fresh, particularry fruits and juice. You could also enjoy every morning sparklingwine wich was luxorious. We loved our holiday in Rheina Isabel.
This is not the first time we have stayed here. We were pleased to see no reduction in standards in any department. Particularly liked the free provision of wi-fi throughout the hotel and the availability of free parking on site. Breakfasts continue to be a culinary extravaganza. There should be two armchairs in a double room, not just the one. The tv is very German orientated; only Eurosport (Recorded rubbish and unknown sports) and Sky News, in English. It should be possible to add bbc World,if not bbc 1&2 , and itv 1; all of which we get in Portugal.
Good location, variety of facilities, friendly staff Caters for older clientelle, might not suit younger guests although no reason why not
Pretty clean and organized hotel. Very good breakfast buffet. To be fair to customers correct rating should be max 3 stars due to lack of services. Small rooms, not enough space to open suitcase except on bed. No nightclub or restaurant choices or any other services at the hotel. And the only bar serves diluted spirits:)
It is a luxury hotel, the free minibar is refilled every day and in the gym and the swimmingpool there are free towels and free drinkingwater. The businessrooms and gym are very luxurious. The hotel is located 5 min walking from the beach and 5 min walking from the bus station as well. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurants and bars in Las Palmas are very cheap. the rooms were smaller than indicated on the photo's. There is no sun on the balcony and because of the height a lot of wind as well, for this reason you see nobody sitting on the balcony. Las Palmas is not a perfect place for holidays since the nightlife is a bit boring and on the beach you only see locals.
The sauna and pool.
pool, balcony and location
I was my third AC hotel (after Cuenca & Burgos) and as expected everything was absolutely perfect! The room rate was competitive, and I had great views over the city . Very comfortable and luxurious. I hope to return to this hotel in the future!
Location is good, while you are inthe cityand close to the beach. Poor air conditon system.Small room and bathroom.
I was pleasantly suprised at the value for the money. Many small touches made it a great stay. Very clean, housekeeping responded immediately to extra towel request, free mini bar was restocked daily! Views are spectacular. Gym is small and equipment could use and updgrade but extras like the steam room and showers and a stocked water cooler offset that. I would recommend this for business or leisure. Not really a family place, which is nice for those of us who do not travel with children. Close to both the port and the beach at Las Canteras. Great mall right across the street for late night browsing
views from hotel, comfort of room
We arrived late at night and were given a room on the 20th floor. When we awoke next day we couldn't believe the view over Las Palmas beach & harbour area. The restaurant was on another floor above us & the meal we had was excellent in fact it was the best meal we had during our 10 days in Gran Canaria. At the vey top of the hotel there is an outdoor swimming pool with the same incredible views over Las Palmas
Excellent service, free minibar and great standard! Compared to many other hotels in the area this is defenetly one of the best. €16 for breakfast is another way of charging a higher room fee.
good location stair entrance
the view from our room was breathtaking, the ambiance was relaxing, and the food was fantastic.
The view from the room, the balcony furniture with fleecy rugs for sitting above the clouds was amazing after a day of driving the zig zag roads. the cafe/restaraunt staff were very helpfull and attentive to the kids, and the standard of food excelent. The swiming pool shown in the photo's is not available unless you use the spa which is out of bounds for kids at all times. I had read reviews about it being closed so checked on paradors website, trip advisor and hotels website and there was no mention of this. This was the main reason we had booked.
This parador is located in the centre of the island with magnificent views of the mountains and easy access to walks and the very special Roque Nublo. I was amazed to get a twin room for 60 euros. Breakfast was extra at 15 euros each but very special. There could not be anything to dislike at this hotel.
The location of the Parador up in the mountains is excellent with stunning views from the bedrooms (Mount Teide on Tenerife can be seen on a clear day). The bedroom accommodation, lounges, & main areas are of the usual high standard found in Paradors (this one has only recently been opened/renovated). We thought the price of the Spa/indoor pool etc at over 30 euros each person was excessive otherwise we would have used it more. It's a pity there is no outdoor pool.
View and location Service was rather cold and off hand not what i expect at that level of hotel. Also Spa and pool were closed which i was not made aware off when booking so as a family very disappointed!
clean new hotel with stunning views and very friendly staff; the reception staff speaks either english or german as a foreign language; Arrive early to enjoy the afternoon sun on the terrace looking at the great mountain scenery! only buffet breakfast is offered
The view from the balcony towards the setting sun was beautiful. The hotel offered what they promised in this regard. It was quite expensive.
Fantastic iews from our room and balcony. Staff not very friendly. No lighting for inside the wardrobe/lobby.
Excellent location for walks in the mountains and visiting the interior of Gran Canaria.
We stayed here for two weeks, and the location is superb. 30 meters to the beach, and just a short walking distance to all the (three) shopping malls in the city. Lots of boutiques and grocery shops nearby. The cleaning staff was excellent, and of 5 star standard. The roof is excellent for sunbathing anfd the pools are clean. Excellent coffeemachine on the 7th floor. We had to pay up front, which is a negative. If one has complaints, then it will be difficult to get through to the staff when one has paid already. No/poor view from all of the rooms. Internet access only in the lobby and even there it was on and off. No internet access in the rooms, and only one machine for internet in the reception, which even guests had to pay for.
Good location, all mod cons in room, nice size room, good pool facilities, helpful staff Breakfast not included, no parking
The rooftop swimming pools are amazing and our room was very clean and comfortable.
The room were clean and the wifi acces was excellent. The breakfast was terrible. It was difficult to find food which was edible. The room we booked was a double, but when we arrived we discovered that we were given two single beds. The person on duty at the desk then denied that there was a difference between a double room and a twin room! I had paid extra for a double, and we were denied this accomdation. It ruined our break and we even checked out early as a result!!
Good location near the beach. Since the rooms do not have balcony we were disappointed that the terrace were closed mostly the time. Only open between 11:00 – 17:00 The cooking was not to good since they were not able to cook an egg for 5 minutes, and that the omelette served at the terrace consist of only egg and cheese.
the rooms were very clean and the maids very polite and welcoming. location could not be more central no view from room, no coffee making facilites in room, no mini bar, these were all advertised on web
It was calm and silent . It was Ok as an business hotell, The phoyos in the we side don`t tell tell the hole true
The friendliness & cleanliness of the hotel was superb!!! A little Noisy at night, early morning wth the traffic/as on a road side.
The roof is great; pools, jacuzzi, and sunbeds. Not enough English-speaking staff, breakfast tasted like it was days old.
Hotel is clean and nice; located ca. 20 m. from the beach. Cleaning service in my opinion is great; room was always clean, bed linear changed and we could always have some extra towels for the beach. Pool on the roof doesn’t match actually with the pictures. It’s not bad, but also nothing special. Hotel stuff speaks some English but don’t expect much. Breakfast buffet was quite poor and not in the very best sort.
Buffet breakfast was good and the lounge overlooking the beach and promenade was comfortable. We were not told of spa special offers for residents until last day when too late to use it! View from our room was horrible, lots of washing and a noisy road. Drinks in Lounge very expensive.and were charged for an item from the minibar that we did'nt use.
Relaxed atmosphere and all of the facilities were well maintained. The breakfast was excellent and the quality of food for dinner good. Excellent location
Location was ideal, room was spacious and clean
Nice breakfast, beautiful view. Location was perfect for my needs, nice bathroom. The carpets in the corridors were dirty.
View of the beach from the breakfast room. Well attended breakfast buffet.
It was a pleasant hotel with clean rooms. The rooms with seaview and with terras are really nice to stay. If you don;t mind the noise of the waves at night.
not much at all.The bed was not comfortable. No swimming pool. As above. Not near Veguetta area as listed.
Good situation on the beach No facilities, i.e. no pool, no gym etc. Many rooms have no sea view
location and halpfull stuff
The location couldn't be better, although it is very confusing getting from the bus station to the hotel. Staff members meant well, but provided inaccurate information about getting around the area. Room service was excellent, however.
Nice surroundings - central location
The location of the hotel on the beach and its proximity to the numerous restaurants. The lack of atmosphere especially in the reception and bar areas
Reception staff were very attentive and helpful.
the room was clean and the bed very comfortable. at first I did not go for the modern minimalist furniture and decoration, but I got used to it and liked it. On one aspect the Hotel beats many others, its view over the Canteras beach is splendid. A good chance to do some much needed exerciese for me. The location of the hotel is also excellent, with all kinds of colourful Spanish type small and big restaurants, a big supermarket and tourist shops very close. For some peculiar reason the sheet of my bed had an unpleasant-looking stain in the middle, though everything else in the room was clean. But when I asked the staff to change it they were very apologetic and changed it. Also, the toilet ran out of water one night! It was o.k. in the morning. These are compartively small things compared to the pluses.
Excellent location, the room was big, clean and very comfortable. There is no swimming pool.
The location was very good, being next to the beach, within easy walking distance of many restaurants and the main shopping area of Las Palmas. The room was small for a double room and only had one single-person armchair. It seemed to be more of a single room with a double bed. The shower was really a bath with a shower attachment. The staff were generally friendly but we had ask several times before the sticking bathroom door in the room was fixed. Internet connection was expensive costing over 69 Euros for 1 week.
Personnel was very nice
the barmaid in the bar was lovely the noise of the beds been moved in the rooms above when the rooms were been cleaned so early in the mornings
free wifi the buffet breakfast was very poor and not worthy of 4star rateing., more like a 2star rateing I think. Not enough towels or toiletries for the price we paid. would not book this hotel again. The rooms are in need of complete refurbish as quite shabby.
Excellent buffet breakfasts. Easy access to beautiful sandy beach, close to bus routes, plenty of taxis, good choice of restaurants. Traffic noise could be cut out by closing windows and patio doors.
Close to where I needed to be kind of old, slightly run down, breakfast was average
A very reliable, comfortable hotel in a good location. Ideal for me.
Breakfast The rooms need an update
Helpful, attentive staff. Hotel with basic facilities. Very convenient to beach.Good selection at breakfast with beautiful view of ocean.More suited to the business traveller in my opinion. Hotel in need of refurbishment, rooms dated and uncomfortable. No parking available at hotel.Has huge potential as a tourist hotel secondary to its beach location
The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was good with a beautiful view of the beach while we were eating, "Las Canteras" is a perfect beach to stay near, the bathroom in our room was big and nice, the room itself was big enough to fit our childs travel bed and extra things needed with children. The hotel seemed overall very well organized, in-control, clean. The beds were old and a bit uncomfortable. The coffee was not good but "Casa Suecia" was across the street so we drank coffee there instead.
Convenience to cruise port Unattractive swimming pool area
Very unexpensive. Next to the beach. Central location. Wifi in the hall. Towels are not really nice. Breakfast could be better. It's not easy to find parking place near the hotel.
Convenient location for womad and other attractions of Las Palmas. Comfortable. Good areas to meet with friends. Traffic noise from the street below.
the roof top pool and bar facilities. Helpful reception staff - we needed to use their fridge for medicines. street noise at night, we had to buy earplugs. The air conditioning would not allow us to turn it back on after a short pause.
Eventhough the website says there is a gym - it wasn't available. The internet connection in my room was very poor eventhough there was info around the hotel that it is working in the rooms as well.
The pool at the top the noise of the street and work going on in the hotel, also the breakfast was not brilliant
Nothing, should be suitable for back packers and those on a budget I am used to much higher standards. I only booked this as I only needed a place to stay while waiting for my flight due to leave after midnight.
Good budget hotel. Nice, quiet pool area on roof, a real suntrap!! Location ok as near to beach but surrounding area does look a little shabby. Very good value for money, not at all as bad as some reviews on here, if you pay for a budget hotel then dont expect a 5 star one!!!! Room was fine and good sized bathroom. My parents have also stayed here twice and would again. Windows could be better soundproofed as could hear traffic on street.
Staff attitud, lobby, internet facilities and the location. Thanks to all Astoria Hotel staff. Nothing
1. When it came to check in I was told that holding payment had not been received. Even though I had email confirmation twice from two different credit cards. 2. On two days builders were doing major works in the hotel - heavy hammering and drilling from early in the morning.
nothing. This hotel is very 70s. it was grubby, the bathroom was very dirty, when we went into the room it was very smellylike sewage.we were awake most the night with people pimping and prostituting, the breakfast though buffet was ok nothing special.we went for a birthday weekend away we wished we would of read the reviews before booking, people might have thought this hotel cheap, but we stayed in 4star for a lot less money.
It is right downtown, close to the beach and commercial center as well as Santa Catalina park
Room was clean but with smoke smell and poorly ventilated.
the hotel is near Las Canteras and St. catalina park. Nice, clean room. Sound isolation from other rooms was poor.
Nice staff when we got there! Helpful!
great location and 2 great spanish old boys at reception ,very helpful
It was very close to the beach, and there were good restaurants around.
Friendly and helpful staff. Bad lightning in the bedroom.
not sure.... the smell was awfull...
Het schoonmaken van de kamers en de oprechtheid van (de staf en) het personeel. Dat laatste ook in het ernaastgelegen restaurant. The cleaning of the rooms and the sincerity of (the staff and) the servants. This was also the case in the restaurant besides. Greetings to all of you.
Great location. REstaurant offers excellent food and great vfm was originally a little unsure about security, but was fine.
Tranquility Booking.com information stated things that were not there, ie., solarium, massage, jacuzzi, business centre, laudnry & ironing.
i liked almost everything there. Nice atmosphere, good garden, breathetaking view on the mountains, nice stuff. -
Good location for walking. Attractive comfortable rooms. Other guests very nice. Disappointing food
Good food and friendly staff. Good base for walking Did not like the open plan bathroom-I like toilets to have a door! Also the room was small and smelt of food, and there was nowhere to sit comfortably, apart from the bed
Friendly & helpful staff Lack of a restaurent for dinner
there is no gym or sauna - which was one of the reasons why i booked!
Good breakfast and location, double glazing ensured the room was quiet with very little noise from the street. Our room card often stopped working, reception rectified this immediately each time, but was a pain. We may have just been unlucky.
Very convenient for shops, and centre of Las Palmas. Transport links very good, not far from airport & port. Good breakfast. Rooms appeared tired, in need of a refurb. Cannot see the point of an expensive exercise bike in each room.
Comfort, cleanliness, good food and friendly staff Bill was wrong
Easy to get to the main shopping area The breakfast needed more thought and the hot food should be fresh and hot. The toaster was a waste of space.
I didnt like anything in this hotel! The man at the reception didn´t speak with us at the check-in and the check-out, the rooms were old and dirty, the shower horrible, very noisy, breakfast poor. Only the entrance was nice, and the fotos on the internet. And thanks to a congress and an event all the hotels were full, so we could not go to another hotel! I didn´t like it at all, the personal, the room, awfull, old and dirty, the bathroom too, showering turned all bathroom in a swimming pool, breakfast, you were lucky if you could find a last piece of bread with some cheese, when we entered the rooms it smelt like wet dog, there were no towels. They were renovating a wall from the outside, and starting early in the morning, what a noise, and opening the window, the workmen were watching you. An horrible experience!
