Casucho Da Peregrina - Porriño - Bedroom
1
9.6 Excellent (72 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a treat Casucho da Peregrina was. We had hiked from beautiful Valenca, Portugal to Porrino and were put off by its gritty industrial feel. However, luckily, we had booked the night at this retreat up in the hills. Jesus retrieved us from the main artery in Porrino and drove us up and up to this gorgeous little cabin in the mountains. He was an attentive host and made us feel very comfortable. A super-bonus: if you pay attention to the books in this little gem of a house, you learn that Jesus Martinez Novas is a world-class mountaineer!
Cons: A telepherique directly down to Porrino (just kidding).
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The property is great, far from town, but they pick you up and drop you off. The owners are amazing and you can tell they love their guests and they want them to be comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Casucho is a fantastic self contained cabin in the hills behind O Porrino. The location is sublime, wonderful Jesús picks you up and drops you back to the trail. Everything you could need. We wished we could have stayed a week!!!

Pros: Great find along our Camino. Comfortable and clean with great facilities for relaxing and doing some laundry. I forget the name of the staff who checked us in but she was very friendly and accommodating.

With a stay at Lar Atlántica in Vigo, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Museum of Contemporary Art and Castro Fortress. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and an elevator.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Simply put, Lar Atlántica is the best accommodation that I have ever stayed at in either the US, Europe or Asia. It is more than squeaky clean; it's immaculate. When you open the door you see beauty, and when you open the bathroom door what stands out besides a clean and spotless bathroom is the shining of the silver sink faucets. It's the most comfortable of places I've ever stayed at. It all begins with Elena, her creativity, desire for perfection, her family and staff!
Cons: I loved everything.
6.7 Good
Pros: It was a simple room with 2 twine beds and a small private bathroom.
Cons: Was not advertised as an apartmento- no kitchen facilities, or sitting area except outside. There was a kettle and 2 cups. No sink to fill kettle.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely aesthetics, fantastic rooms, wonderful beds and clean toilets. Could not recommend this place enough, location is great, just a 10 minute walk from town centre (Old Town).

Pros: The location and had everything we needed for a night of rest on the Camino
Cons: Luggage transfer wasn’t available till later in the morning
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice big bed! Place is quite and chilled - we had a great night of sleep! The room is small, but is has what you need for a couple of days stay. Big plus is they have a common terrace with a self service bar with great prices. Perfect to sit and relax with a cold beer, soda or water. Place seems quite newly renovated so its modern and clean.
Cons: Small minus - could install some lights in the terrace for the evenings
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lar Atlantica is one of the best places to stay in Vigo. It gets better with each stay, as I'd been away for a year or so. It is squeaky clean to the highest standards, and it it beautiful to walk into their rooms. Elena and the staff are very nice people.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Skyline pool was amazing, the temperature was great and we could enjoy of everything on the spa, even raining outside.
2.6 Mediocre
Pros: Too much money for everything
Cons: No everything came with a price tag to much money
5.4 Okay
Pros: The big bed. Clean room. Friendly hotel staff. Good service from reception in managing booking. Relaxing massages in the spa. Amazing location. Beautiful surroundings.
Cons: Spa reception left us to our own devices instead guiding us in what to do. Found the spa bath water rather chilly. Breakfast buffet seemed a little ordinary with machine coffee and non-attentive staff. Left comments when we left and have heard nothing since. Sorry had to get feedback via booking. We were married the day before and would have probably extended, we were really looking forward to it
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Think I got upgraded, which was much appreciated. The breakfast was great and with Spanish notes (think eggs, eggs, meat and fruit). Used the spa and enjoyed the jade massage, which I highly recommend trying. Staff and service is good and the wine selections in a glass at the bar also good. The coffee in the room is welcome early mornings before the breakfast opens! Toiletries are very good as are the robes and flip flops.
Cons: Guests should be able to use the top floor spa facilities exclusively at times at no extra cost and the gym could be open more hours (I was here for work and would have liked to use it in the early morning).
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating. A very well kept hotel with good staff
9.6 Excellent
Pros: good breakfast and nice location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location

Pros: Location in the city is interesting. Room and style of the hotel is nice.
Cons: No possibility to access directly with the car. No parking in the hotel. My travel was for work and breakfast start at 7:30 is too late.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly reception
Cons: More milk with the morning coffee
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location for tourists ie. close to the old town, restaurants, shops, ferry to Islas Cies.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a good hotel, very conveniently located for both transport and all the cultural and other attractions Vigo has to offer. It is a little weird: the decor is generally very black and silver, with a very little bit of red. I think it would drive some people crazy, but I quite liked it, at least for one night.
Cons: Nothing
6.7 Good
Cons: Room more expensive than our friends and they got better room. Plus the bathroom not really clean.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Modern, clean design. The location is very good too, with most points of interest in walking distance. Staff were very friendly.
Cons: Persistent humming noise, maybe from the AC of the building, made it difficult to fall asleep. The bathroom had some minor broken items, e.g. hand towel rail, toilet flush button.

Pros: Modern and nice Hotel in perfect Location.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very nice and clean and our room was quiet and comfortable, We really enjoyed our stay there on el camino de Santiago,
Cons: We didn't try breakfast there since it was kind of poor, for the same money it's better to have one outside in a cafe nearby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel Ogalia is my favourite place to stay in Vigo, Spain. All of the staff at the hotel are very nice people and very professional. I've been here three times this year, and in 2016, I think. The hotel is squeaky clean, and that is my number one concern. The rooms are good sized, and the desk is spacious and a good place for me to write. The bathrooms are spotless, and the cleaning staff pay attention to every detail. It's like walking into a new house. The bed is very comfortable, and they have nice big pillows. The location is perfect. Rùa Lepanto is adjacent to Gran Via, El Corte Inglés, and all of the shopping district. Even more, Vigo is a lovely city to spend time in. This place is perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Simply put, the Hotel Ogalia is the best in Vigo. When reading other people's reviews of other hotels from Da Nang, Vietnam to Bangkok to Edinburgh or Spain, many people talk about the location. For me, it starts with the people behind the reception desk, the cleanliness of the hotel and rooms, the cleaning staff, and all staff. The Hotel Ogalia gets a 10 on all accounts. They've a nice little restaurant there, and the gent who runs it is a gentleman. The kitchen is a model of cleanliness. My hats off to the owner, manager, and all staff for a nice stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location, big and clean rooms and the staffs were very helpful.
7.5 Good
Cons: Location is a little away from restaurants etc.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We walked Camino from porto, it was 7th day and we needed good relaxation day. And we had it! Even without hydromassage.
Cons: We booked room with hydromassage bath but had there simple bath without it. We are very tired to deal with it.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such a welcoming family with a beautiful and historic home (our host said they have documents from the 17th century!). There is even a winery on the property so you can sample their own Albariño - definitely recommend this on a hot day by the pool... They let us use the bbq during our stay, plus there’s a world-class local restaurant 15 mins walk away. Beware of the imploring eyes of their cute dog who may sit by your feet and beg for food at breakfast...
7.9 Good
Pros: Love the family. Everyone is so nice. Beatrix was such a sweet young lady who picked us up from town and her father dropped us off on the Camino trail. Top notch service!
Cons: A bit far from town and there’s no place to have dinner. You have to eat before you check in or buy a bunch of food for the night because you can’t get out to town. This comment is for the Camino pilgrims. For someone who has a vehicle then there shouldn’t be any problems.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The family was fantastic snd very helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely quiet house and location. Very hospitable and friendly family.
Cons: Nothing.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Traditional homestay with a vinyard and pool, the property is outstanding. It's very relaxing and extremely comfortable. The owners have a little english but i have no Spanish so it was an amusing overnight with plenty of charades, i think i met half the family who were all wonderful. There is a bar on the corner where you can get evening meals who were also very welcoming. You feel you are completely off the beaten track but are really only a short ride away from re-joining your Camino.
Cons: Nothing

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast is super: plenty of choices, from fruit, cereals, bread, cheese, juices and hot beverages. Staff at the breakfast is super efficient and always trying to help. Rooms have plenty of space.
Cons: Rooms were adverstised as "Rooms with a view" in a city with a waterfront, but the "view" is to the street where the hotel is. So, don't get misled by the "Room with a view" advertising. These rooms are more expensive, but the sound insulation from the windows was poor and all noises in the street could be heard in the room. On one night, shouting and screaming were on all night long, preventing us from sleeping. We would have been better with a room at the back side of the hotel, far from the street, and it would even be cheaper.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good value for money. Good location. Clean comfortable room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I love all the NH Collection because they have everything that I like

Cons: The air conditioner didn’t seem particularly effective.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Family room had enough space. Nice location, very close the coast for a nice walk and if you will use the ferry. Also close to the central shopping area and seafood market. Breakfast was very good. Simple but good choice of local products.
Cons: The place was close to the bars around. Many drunk were too loud till dawn specially during Fridays and Saturday which you could hear from the room. Probably the hotel could improve the window insulation to lessen the noise from the outside.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness, very good bedding, location
Cons: Not having control over the air conditioning. The staff turn it on and off at their discretion. I explicitly asked them not to turn if off at night and they did it anyway.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The view to the sea river.
Cons: The breakfast can be prepared a bit better during special exhibition days to make the value more 4-starred. The view has been disturbed with the construction taking place near the train station. The view may go when the construction is done.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely modern hotel. Room was clean and spacious with very comfy bed. Great breakfast choice for €9.

Cons: The bar looked cool but was not open when I was there
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely peaceful location. Super friendly people. A great welcome, comfy accommodation and good rest.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, beautiful accommodation, comfy bed.
Cons: Could do with a little sound proofing between apartments.
5.8 Okay
Pros: A really nice building in a beautiful location. I was walking a small stretch of the Camino so it was a little ‘off the beaten track’ but chosen for its location and appearance.
Cons: All was looking really good until I pulled back the covers to go to bed and found evidence of its previous occupant(s) in the form of runkled sheets, long strands of dark human hair (what’s left of mine is very short and grey!), small bits of grit.....and a flea, which I wrestled into submission and flushed down the loo! The first remedy suggested was that I sleep in the ‘other’ bed ( I was staying alone in a twin room.) I declined, preferring the second remedy suggested, ie. moving to another room. When I spoke to the owner the next morning by ‘phone - he couldn’t/wouldn’t and in any event, didn’t, speak to me in person- he was gracious enough to acknowledge that in recounting my experience, he accepted that I was “..telling the truth”, though continued to insist, not entirely logically, that the bed had been freshly made up (I did wonder how he could have been sure, unless he had done it himself, which I thought unlikely!) I was relieved that he did not voice any suggestion that I might have arrived equipped with my own supply of human hair, grit and fleas for nefarious purposes. When I asked what he might consider to be an appropriate recompense for my experience he offered me a free breakfast (value €5.90.) I suggested we end the conversation at that point! Ironically of the six small hotels which I stayed in during my mini-Camino, this was the most expensive. Goes to show.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, wonderful welcome, beautiful room. Complete peace and quiet. Could not recommend it enough. Gracias Jessica!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly personnel, lovely and quiet place, highly recommend!
6.0 Good
Pros: The place is beautiful, in an old farmhouse which preserves it's original structure. Breakfast was standard, nothing special and I found it expensive for 5.90 Euros.
Cons: There is no attention to the details in the room, toilet old and not really clean, lights and some furnitures cheap. Everything seemed put together randomly and it's a pity because the place has a great potential. The room was very very cold and wet.
6.3 Good
Cons: We were not happy with the room we got, we were made feel the problem was with us not the room, but it most definitely was with the room. We changed rooms as it was late at night to a room below the standard we booked, which was fine. Next morning they give us the option to move to an apartment , this was ok but they kept saying it was an upgrade and they wouldn’t charge us. But, we would have preferred to be in the room we booked, but that was never an option. Whereas the staff were very nice they should have tried to make up for the very obvious fault with the first room. Instead they kept saying they wouldn’t charge us the extra for the apartment.

Pros: I, because of a problem with Renfe, arrived really late! For some reason the hotel used WhatsApp and contacted me with check in info if I were to be late. Numbers, codes via WhatsApp worked wonderfully - I checked in, woke up, checked out and everything was wonderful! How they did WhatsApp - I do not know but it worked!!!!!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Big clean room, comfortable bed, nice pillows, helpful clerk
Cons: WiFi was not great
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location simply could not be better. Leave in one direction and you're on the main shopping thoroughfare on the other and you're in the old part of town, lively with lots of bars and restaurants to choose from. The hotel itself was clean, and comfortable and they also were able to meet our request to have adjacent rooms. Should we return to Vigo we will definitely see if we can stay here first.
Cons: Unfortunately, the property requires the use of at least some stairs, so may not be difficult for those with reduced mobility or heavy luggage. Not a criticism of the property - be warned that if navigating to the hotel by car, then select "Praza Porta do Sol" as the destination rather than the hotel directly as our "satnav" suggested a route through restricted areas with restricted access.

Pros: Amazing location. You can’t go wrong with this. Also a bright and cheerful room is nice to have.
Cons: Coffee/ tea machine didn’t work and bathroom tiles could have been cleaned a little better.
Overview Reviews
The AC Hotel Palacio Universal, built in the latter part of the nineteenth century and located in the heart of the city, was the meeting point of the bourgeois and intellectual and political elite at the time. It is located in the best area of Vigo, in front of the Marina, near the historical town and not far from the beach and exhibition centre. Our Vigo hotel offers minibar, fully equipped bathroom, special amenities in each guest room, AC Lounge, fitness center, and Turkish Bath. Free Wi-Fi access throughout the hotel so that guests can connect to the internet whenever they want.

Pros: Very clean & good location. Value for money.
Cons: We find everything ideal. I don’t like the rain.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Service and location are very good. Parking place available across the street for a fixed daly rate of 13 euros (small car).
Cons: The rooms seem a bit overpriced for the actual hotel standard. For those who may care (not my case), only Spanish-language channels available on TV. A breakfast buffet at 15 euros is also overpriced for the region. The bathrooms need a revamp; in particular the bathtub. During the check out, I asked to have a pdf version of the invoice mailed to me: never received it.

7.5 Good
Pros: Pretty and nice and in a great location. The waiter in the dinning area was great.
Cons: The door to our balcony did not lock. We had to move to another room. There was no one on staff to help move the suitcases to the second room. They did not clean our room the first day we were there. I had to call and ask them to come clean and bring towels.
6.0 Good
Cons: Small room. Small bed. No drawers.
