Location, easy access to transportation Close to scenic locations Palacio Nacional & multiple parks Comfortable room, Internet access and hot tub. Friendly staff. Hotel has great style.
The room was clean, the shower was new and the hot water was incredible, the best of any Santo Domingo hotel we've stayed at. The front desk couldn't find our reservation, but checked my email reservation, the amount I paid online, and quickly checked us into our room. Air conditioning was good too. The continental breakfast was limited to one item, I've never seen that in any hotel in this country. The hot tub should be removed from the list of accommodations, as I read a person put in March that the jacuzzi was broken, yet I assumed in a 6 month period it had been fixed. I was wrong, and my boyfriend and I were really looking forward to that aspect of the stay as our weekend getaway. There were a lot of mold spores on the shower tiles. Location might make some travelers from outside DR nervous, it's fairly dark and desolate at night, but we both live here so it wasn't an issue. It's good for a short walk to anything you want to see in Zona Colonial.
The secure parking of my rental vehicle without the hassel. They had a good laundry service that returned my clothing within hours of them taking them. It did not match the pictures on the net at all and the TV was not near the bedroom nor was the water pressure in the bath good. The water was a very low pressure to where I had to couple my hands to put water on my backside.
It is interresting to stay there because there are a lot businesses close by such the "Conde". The employees are respectuous and willing to help. "Gisel" is a very good Haitian employee who merits his encouragement for his good service. On sunday the food was horrible. I was even get sick by that food but the other days was good. In the morning no one speaks English that can help me in the restaurant.
The Hotel staff was very friendly and spoke some English. The security was good around the hotel and the parking area. The air conditioning system was excellent for the bedroom. There was construction going around the pool area. I personally did not use the pool for this reason.
I really liked the hospitality and the family atmosphere. Not at all and I would like it to be my staying place, when I return next year, Thank you!
The staff was friendly. The hotel has no elevators and we were asigned to a 4th floor (Top - We are in our late 70's) & relocated to a 2nd fl. 2 days later. There were ongoing repairs, the restaurant was provisional. Breakfast was very poor (coffee, one kind of juice, eggs & toast or sandwiches). Access to the rooms involved walking thru some alleys.
I had a great stay at the Hotel Jade. There is a small restaurant next to it called Food Zona run by a wonderful Hungarian couple. The hotel rooms were small but clean. A/C worked great. Cable TV with both English and Spanish channels. Location is near the outdoor local market, the artisans market and colonial city center. No elevator. No accessibility for people in wheelchairs.
