Good price. Nice staff.
It is a dorm for 12 person but separated by bathroom. It doesn't complicated. (But I was only guest in this hostel)
The room was so cold. The water was not hot. The staffs cannot speak English so I had to use translator. And the staff doesn't know where are the things placed. (like a hair dryer.. ) They don't know nothing about their hostel and the city also.
The hostel is in a nice area, a 10 minute walk away from the metro, and a 20 BRL uber from downtown São Paulo. The building is nice on the outside and inside. All clean and well decorated. There is a strong sense of family among the volunteers and everyone is very hospitable. The room was spacious and had a very nice view. The private bathroom is large as well. The room was clean for the most part, but considering that we reserved well ahead of time, it could have been a bit better prepared (e.g. used soap in the bathroom drawer, towels brought after check-in, cleaner sheets preferable).
There was an electricity issue that wasn't resolved adequately and seriously affected our trip. The power lines couldn't handle all the rooms' showers being on at the same time and there was some damage to the circuits that was only resolved the next day. Unfortunately, the volunteer staff were not prepared to deal with this and the electricity issue turned into chaos. We weren't notified of the problem and discovered it ourselves. The volunteer staff quickly gave up on trying to solve the issue and felt it appropriate to joke about it quite early. The hostel needs to have a plan for such occurrences because guests depend on the management to ensure that we don't have to worry about such issues and that in the case of their occurrence, their effect is minimal. Unfortunately, we had to go through the hostel's learning phase. We discussed this with the management and they were transparent and apologetic the next day and compensated for the short coming by delaying our check-out. We hope that they will avoid such incidents in the future.
