Recommended restaurant for lunch - pizzeria da Franco. Excellent. Helpful staff, convenient location. Recommendation for restaurant Bona Dea -- tourist trap. Disappointing food and very high prices. Length of time to key in passport info. Hotel should not keep passports for 20 minutes but should instead make copies and hand back to customer for their convenience.
Hotel very nice with pleasant staff. Booked this hotel to visit Ville D'Est, but didn't realise we would be 9km away from Tivoli, however frequent bus service was convenient. Train service to Rome more tricky
Comfortable room. Friendly personal. Opportunity to have personal safe for money or values at your room. Opportunity to leave your luggage at the registration desk in special room after check-out which is convenient to travel light and visit lockal attractions near Tivoli. It wold be great to have another key for travellers settling in double room (e.g. for married couple) and providing them an opportunity returning at their own room separatly.
The hotel met the expectations correspondent to a 3 star hotel The noise due to traffic in a nearby road
I did not like the poor services of the hotel (no wifi, no bar, no restaurant, no breakfast) even if all those services are available (chargeable) at the hotel next door. This hotel looks like a poor extension of the next door hotel...
good value for money, clean spacious room, location. free and easy parking, good location for visiting tourist sights dated hotel and rooom, staff not attentive
We were given an excellent recommendation for dinner. It was an easy walk and had good food. The room was small but adequate and very clean. The hotel is very difficult to find. There is a large neon sign on the roof which can not be seen unless you drive past it and look up. There is no number at the street level. We had to stop several times and ask for directions.
The excellent service by the staff.
The hotel turned out to be exactly as described. The swimming pool next door looked very tempting, but I did not have time to try it out. Nothing really.
The rooms were large with a large private bathroom. Everything was very clean with great lighting day and night. Rooms are cleanly furnished with a large closet, desk and little tv. Air conditioning worked really well. The breakfast was also good and very typical for an italian breakfast. We were worried about parking but there was a spot right in front of the hotel. A little difficult to find the street. Located in a residential area and a far walk to a restaurant.
Very helpful and friendly staff, great with the kids. Airco did not work properly at 40 deg C outside...
Clean, friendly staff, location to town centre and to business I was visiting.
Cleanliness and location
very clean and modern good staff very helpful good security quiet hotel awesome showers and coffee machine. very poor area, dangerous at night time. Breakfast was standard continental but only a good selection on th first day then we kept getting th same fruit. Further from the baths than advertised.
The staff here must be the most helpful, friendly and accommodating in Italy! Rooms are modern and clean; breakfast good. Again, the staff make this hotel a wonderful srprise. Location is a bit awkward but not seriously difficult. Staff are able to recommend nearby restaurants which will offer a discount for hotel guests.
I liked the friendly and helpful staff. The room was extremely comfortable and it was in a quiet area. Breakfast was a bit poor in choice.
The hotel staff were very helpful and helpful. The room was sufficient and the bed was comfortable. Tiles on the floor - cold feet!!
nice room dining facility 'canteen like'
Large room, helpful staff
Room was clean and location was good. Breakfast was very poor, well beyond 4*. Dinner was also poor and very expensive. The cost of two teas in the room was 11 euros!!!
Close to the bath and a very nice hotel, however peaople should be let know of the sulphur smell! Restaurant was the weak point, however some good restaurants across the street (pizza) and many very good restaurants in Tivoli (10 min down the road).
Great value for money. Very chic and stylish Hotel. Not clear that swimming pools run by different company, and are payable extra. Ate dinner at Hotel, as not much choice within walking distance. Food not great, and not cheap. Buffet breakfast good though.
was not prepared for the smell of the sulphur baths . It was quite strong ! sulphur smell from the baths next door
The location is great and it is extremely easy to find Used by tour companies, so breakfast was a bit of a scrum
Junior suite was very spacious. The spa bath. Convenient location. The television could not be viewed from the bed. The bathroom was poorly finished, the shower leaked and tiling was cracked.
Good Servvce, clean, efficient. Ideal location for me.
Helpful reception staff. Good Trattoria, Tomasso, just over the road. Modern bedroom and bathroom, large plasma TV. €3 charge per each parking entry/exit should be free for residents.
The hotel looks freshly remodeled. It shows features of ancient Rome, but with modern furniture and fixtures that balance the ancient look. They use motion detection lights and other technology. The owners and managers are super-nice Lack of air conditioning (the outside temperature was in the nineties). The owner did bring in a fan very quickly though.
The hotel and staff were wonderful. Hotel Employee were so nice and couldn't do enough for us. The room was delightful and spotless. Excellent location for everything to walk to. Breakfast was great, They gave us very good eating recommendations I don't think that there was anything we didn't like. We were pretty pleased with everything.
Fantastic hotel. If I could give 10+ I would. The owners are always available and helpful. The breakfast of fruit, yogurt, beverages, pastry etc. was perfect. Everything is very close and walkable to Villa d'Estra and other sites. It was perfect.
The beautiful interior that uses much travertine and lovely fixtures. The hotel is immaculate. Sheets and bedding high quality. Room was generous size. The staff was friendly and helpful. The price was very reasonable. We wished we had made plans to stay here longer, as it was such a comfortable place, and Tivoli has much to see and do.
Wonderful, friendly, solicitous staff. Went out of their way to help us, including giving us a ride on the outskirts of town where we rented a car. That was certainly not necessary, and it was a tough place to get to. Nothing.
Nice and clean hotel, the breakfast was good. Rooms were really clean.
The rooms were surprisingly good for the amount we were paying. The staff were friendly and helpful. The place was clean and in good condition and situated in a quiet side street, but only a few metres from the main route. The breakfast! We have had many Italian breakfasts and there is really no reason why the hotel cannot serve the same, but improve the quality and selection. Even a better selection of fresh fruit would have helped. We ate and drank hardly anything preferring to wait until Ryanair could feed us although it is only usually my son who chooses to eat what they provide! If staying in the area again I would not automatically choose this hotel despite the fact that it was otherwise excellent.
Very helpful staff indeed, pleasant surroundings, intra-hotel sound insulation very good, excellent bathroom (loved the jacuzzi!), a balcony, good cleanliness, speedy return of laundry, good breakfast. The pillows were somewhat uncomfortable (too hard), we would have appreciated more storage facilities for our clothes (e.g. a drawer unit).
All you need for your stay close to Rome and other beautiful places nearby when you have transport. Trains to Rome regularly from train station Bagni di Tivoli (1km; use BIRG ticket for flat rate for train and metro). Breakfast great with not only sweets. Very helpful, English speaking staff. Rooms spotless, Internet inexpensive. Permitting the wind direction a light foul stench from the suphur baths
Staff were excellent. Breakfast was good albeit in the basement. No restaurant in the hotel for evening meal but the local restaurant Gallo was excellent (short drive/medium walk) and very good value for money with discount for hotel residents. Quiet location in residential area. Small secure area behind gates if you have a car. Shame the hotel air conditioning system had broken down on a hot day. It is good that the entire hotel has air conditioning and it is a quite system. Hotel staff very apologetic and offered us two rooms instead of one for the same price and free internet. Aircon was fixed by 0600 in the morning but it was a hot night. Whilst there are TVs in the room the channels are all Italian. The web site says "Aurora Hotel is next door to a restaurant serving typical Roman cuisine" - it is not next to any restaurant - that may be a translation issue for "nearby".
The staff was helpful, and the area is quiet. The Hotel is professionally run and just what we needed. It takes about an hour or more to get into Rome,
New equipped, clean and comfort. No external phone line.... Hotel location is in half industrial area. Hard to find the hotel, need better directions. Internet connection is under pay and yet was very poor connection, couldn't load almost any web page.
Renovated, clean, free parking. Very bad smell of Hydrogen sulphide, maybe from Tivoli Terms. Quite far from underground, about 15 minuts by car. Tivoli center also about 15 minuts by car.
service / facilities, comfort, location
A very charming designed hotel with a very nice and helpful personnel. Mrs. Dana and her collegues with their positive attitude and sense of humor, and always being ready to help, made our stay indeed a very pleasant and enyojable. The hotel is also a very good base for exploring the surrondings. The views from our room to the Vesuvio are stunning. The hotel is located at the very small harbour of Vico Equense which is not up to teh standard of the hotel. However, there are a few restaurant in vicinity. To visit the center of town you have to walk uphill for cca. 25 min. I suggest visiting the nearby Sorrento 7km, by car.
the staff the extractor fan don't work in the shower and the room got to hot at night i do think the swiming pool shoud be free and included in the room price and the out side pool was closed
location very good, access easy, free parking, plentifull breakfast buffet included in the room's price during nighttime smell (sulphur) very strong, staff could improve, asked for a second pillow and blanket, received only a bedcover and next day also this was gone. restaurant of the hotel quite expensive and with rahter poor quality food
good and clean 4star hotel, nice pool
This hotel was a basic businessman's hotel and the rooms were ok. However the area nearby is scruffy with lots of litter and graffiti.Nearby there were only take away pizza places so we chose to eat in the hotel and unfortunately had the worst meal we've ever had in Italy - tasteless and expensive. The hotel was empty and quiet as businessmen had all gone on holiday. To cap it all were awoken at 3.30am both feeling as if we were choking, we found that the wind must have changed and the sulphourous smell from the thermal springs was coming in through the air conditioning and was surrounding the hotel. We couldn't wait to leave.
Pool was great but the bar by it was shut! No
The staff was pleasant and helpful. The room we had was clean and comfortable. Although we didn't get a chance to use it, the pool area looked amazing. The continental breakfast was very good. We were not really happy with our evening meal. The service was pleasant but the food was not up to par, in our opinion.
I was very pleased with continental breakfast (fresh fruit, delicious coffee, cakes). Good beds. Nice swimming pool, very welcome in hot august. The price I payed (offer Booking.Com) .Bus connection turned out to be very good (bus Metro B Rome-Tivoli stops before hotel, very frequent (15 min). rather ugly surrounding (not Tivoli of course).I was rather surprised about distance to Tivoli (9 km). Restaurant is not bad, but rather expensive. And the chlorine supply ( to much) during swimming was something I did not like.
Ideally located (close to our customer plant), not so far from Roma (35min). Guest room comfortable, clean and peaceful. The hotel in general is a little bit old fashioned. It would need to become modern.
Restaurant food and service was very good. gardens were pleasant Very poor service at front desk. Poor location on main road
very pleasent staff ,nice pool, convient for my trip to visit villa Adrianna, excellent for a short stay 2/3 days ,good value.
The room was ok, standard. Not 100% clean and the shower leaked water to the floor. Hotel description says it is close to Villa Adriana and Villa D'este in Tivoli, but it is actually only close to Villa Adriana. Not easy to get to Tivoli if you don't have a car.
Friendly staff, Good location,Next to auto route Hard to find by discription
The staff was very nice, spoke some English, and had a beautiful breakfast buffet.
Good quality rooms, spacious, comfortable, clean. Helpful staff. Not as near to Tivoli as we thought and not a particularly good area. Would have been nice to have had the garden area open to have a drink outside.
spacious comfortable room, nice breakfast a bit out of town
Convenient location. Good breakfast. Poor signage to hotel from town. Hard to find if you missed it on leaving expressway.
Alessandro was an amazing host, and took great care of us. Not only did he give us a wonderful local dinner recommendation (for a non-touristy, authentic place), but he also called to make us a reservation. His suggestions about what to see in town were spot-on. The rooms were very nicely decorated, clean, and homey. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we could've easily stayed several weeks here. Would love to come back and stay again!
room was clean. secure parking (thank goodness, since the area was so dodgy.) location, location, location... really questionable area. felt quite unsafe outside. was advertised as being in tivoli, but is actually 10kms away in tivoli terme (diff town, and not as nice.)
The hotel was well located, close to railway station, shops, laundry and restaurants. The manageress was particularly friendly and helpful.
The wellcoming was lovely and the place is quiet, there is safe parking and the room is clean. No elevator , poor breakfest
Lovely people, beds a little hard! Simple acom, no frills! Only the hard beds!
Cleanliness, everything new and modern, self-serve coffee machine. One of the bedrooms has to use the bathroom in the hallway. Breakfast was a bit skimpy.
We were upgraded to a suite with a fabulous view of Tivoli. The castle/hotel is beautiful and the grounds and views lovely. Our room was spacious and elegant. We lost use of of hot water for showers.
The location was excellent with extensive views and convenient for staying in Tivoli
Beautiful location, interior is romantic classic but very tasteful. Room was somewhat small yet comfortable. Breakfast was only served the room and was pretty basic. You must have a car otherwise you are stuck!
the best thing we liked about our stay at the hotel was the weather the two days we were there was perfect, the setting and the look of the the hotel interior and exterior was breathtaking. the food at the restaurant was also very lovely. what we didnt like about our stay was that the staff were very un helpful towards us and our needs when we arrived. they were too pre occupied with the two weddings they were hosting and offered nothing to us as compensation and completely ignored other guests not involved with the weddings. we were told upon arrival that the restaurant would be closed for the night with no access to room service or taxi service to the centre of town. it wasnt until after complaining and waiting for four hours in the hotel foyer that they opened the restaurant so we could have dinner, that was at 10pm. we also had to pay full price for everything, which didnt seem fair considering the way we were treated and it was also the night before my sisters wedding.
Please read the comments regarding our experience below The sign says it all -- instead of Hotel - 4 stars, at night all that lights up is "Hot - 4 stars". The hotel is in dire need of new owners. Although the common areas -- lobby, terraces, pool area, hallways, breakfast room-- all make an opulent and luxurious impression, the rooms are small, shabby and uncomfortable. There is no place for suitcases, no place to sit and write, no adequate lighting. The male staff is lazy and indifferent. When my wife got drenched in a prolonged rain storm and we returned to our room in the early evening for a hot bath (the tub had jets), the water in the tub was barely lukewarm, and the frontdesk clerk, standing at the entrance watching the storm, shrugged his shoulders and said laconically "I'm sorry".
