The swiming pool was very welcome as the weather hot
The area, the food in the resturant and the hospitality
Offhand and friendly stuff. Good local food at the restaurant. Old and excessively soft beds.
Excellent Value. Very friendly. Lovely food. Great location. Nothing.
Fabulous welcome, superb food and a lovely atmosphere
Friendly welcome, excellent food quality and quantity and very reasonably priced. Secure locked outhouse for leaving bicycles.
Excellent atmospheric dinning room full of objet d'art.
We liked the friendly staff and the excellent location: It is an ancient building (dating from the 14th century). The countryside is brilliant, the pool is definetely a plus and the meals were very good (as long as you are not a vegetarian).
The peacefull surrounding. This is not a hotel itself, it's rather a cottage, and in my opinion it's not more than 2 stars. I've stayed in other french two star hotels which offer much better conditions. Bathroom was very small, with cheap plastic floor and poor amenities. The room carpet was very worn and ancient and was not very clean. Mattresses and bedding were low quality. This hotel (?!?) needs a quick refurbish.
Clean hotel, friendly staff and good food will use this hotel again when in the area.
The peaceful setting was delightful and the food was excellent. The shower facilities were not quite of the standard one expects in quality French hotels.
The food, the pool and the large family room Some of the staff were not particularly friendly or helpful
The surrounding landscape and scenery. The abrupt attitude and unfriendliness of the staff. The power was disconnected in our room between 12 midnight and 3 am. No reason given and no apology.
The food is unbelievable, for a very very good price (but the remoteness of the area explains this as well). The hotel itself is nice but for a break or a holiday, I think it would be lacking some amenities for most business travellers (internet for instance).
The restaurant was exceptional - one of the best. The setting is idyllic
The setting, the garden, the lovely furniture and confortable bed. The overwelming smell of cooking all over the hotel, especially in the bedroom, all pervading day and night. Lack of fresh air and poor ventilation. The heater in the bathroom was not working.
Our room was beautifully clean and spacious, with everything we could ask for. Peacefully located overlooking the hotels beautiful garden. I have very difficult dietary needs, and the wonderful chef was so accommodating, thoughtful and resourceful....I Would like to say that the other staff were wonderful too. So friendly and cheerful. We will certainly return. There was nothing to dislike.....I Would have been nice to have a tea making facility in the room as it was spacious and comfortable to sit in for afternooon tea, but this was provided in the lounge and we were never charged for it.
Friendly staff good facilities good food nice location well maintained One or two staff could do with customer training!
Hotel in nice grounds. Nice garden, pool and terrace. Good food. Parking on site. Not far from the church and pretty town.
Friendly Hotel, good restaurent and service.Very convenient parking.
The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our evening meal was traditional and very good.
The room was a good size. The quilt they gave us for our baby was stained and dirty. No tea / coffee facilities in the room. DId not say on the website that the restaurant was closed on Friday and Saturdays.
the best thing about this hotel was leaving it within minutes of arrival. we decided not to stay at the hotel after arrival, even though this meant losing the cost of the booking. Our room overlooked the car park and was most uninspiring. this is really a motel. the situation of the hotel is dreadful. it faces onto a very busy main road and is miles from anywhere. once in this dreadful place you have to dine in the expensive restaurant or drive miles. we decided to abandon the stay and headed instead for Pau. Much better by far.
Leaving Arrived to find that 2 rooms had been reduced to 1 room as the hotel was overbooked.
Very comfortable, breakfat was good, gym facilities I think the possibility of getting some hot water in the evening to makr a drink would have been appreciated
Air conditioning in the rooms. The restaurant was expensive
Owner run small hotel and she was always wonderfully helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent. We stayed for 5 nights and every meal was different and a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The views from the bar/ dining room & terrace are to die for. Definitely a strong recommendation for this area of the Pyrenees.
Charming welcome, personal service, and friendly. a relaxed place to stay.
Great hostess, fabulous views and a location that made for a very special stay.
The building has been beautifully renovated, spacious rooms and very nice ensuite. Julie, one of the owners was lovely, and her son Nicholas adorable! Loved being able to eat by the fire, and the view is amazing. Not much else to do in town, so indulge in the 3 course meal offered by the hotel, affordable and delicious. A little dark, but adds to the romance!
We liked the rustic setting and position in the mountains and frendliness of staff and being able to speak to the owner in English. As this Hotel is in an isolated position we had to use the Hotel Restaurant which had a limited menu with no indication of price. The food however was excellent.
