Staff is well prepared to serve travelers of Corsica Ferries. No private bathrooms.
Fantastic place. Old world, wonderful person, made us a rec. for dinner at a lovely real spot. The small town, while near the ferries to Corisca etc. is interesting and lively. We loved it. My husband helped the owner translate to another group. This type of place is fading fast. For certain types of travelers, it beats all. We loved it!! But for some, it might not suit. It is a Bed and Breakfast, technically, but so much more. If you are looking for a regular hotel experience, this is not for you. That said, it is fantastic if you want to stay in the current, real Italy on your way to wherever.
the family atmosphere
The decor was fantastic, like going back in time 300 years. Breakfast was very good, varied and plentiful. Furniture was also period, though the door fell off our bedroom cabinet. Bed was comfortable and atmosphere was peaceful. Great value for money. Very different experience. Our hostess seemed a little harassed as she was fully booked and spent a lot of time on the phone. She opened the door and left us on the door step. the hotel was not that easy to find, and parking places nearby a bit hit and miss.
The owner gave us a free bus pass to get into Savona. It was outdated, dark and cold.
beautifull furniture, wall paintings, stairs breakfast: more fresh bread and cheese
from the outside you did not realize the what was inside like going back in time high painted ceiling and a great host no ensuite but a good large bathfoom
Very frendly and helpfull staf. Good breakfast. There was no parking place, where to leave a car.
Pleasant place with some old fashioned style
Ceiling paintings great. bREAKFAST good. No toilet roll in bathroom. vERY hard to find.
I only stayed one night, prior to a cruise - the hotel offered all we needed, easily located, good meal, etc. Not applicable
The service from the Hotel personnel was excellent None
Location if doing a cruise could not be beaten. It is also handy to buses, cafes etc. Nothing we didnt like
Confortable room Very slow check-in/out
The quality of the room i stayed in was superb. Hi-tech, comfortably, safe. The area is going through major development. It will have a great mix of modern and rustic scenary. The harbor is a great place to hang out, eat, drink. The town center is a beautiful place to eat shop. My stay was very relaxing, and served as a great base.
The hotel is in a very nice place near to the sea. They should have internet point.
We stayed there one night to yoin a Cost Cruis ship, location perfect.
Helpful and professional staff, position, new structure and environment. It only miss a sauna...
Close to Costa Cruises Departures.
It was very nice and the staff was excellent and very helpful. Nothing to complain about, everything was fine.
The presence of the private parking
The restaurant was extremely good value. The room was clean with a fair TV service. There was wi-fi. The staff were very friendly although english was not their language at all. The lift was in good order The bathroom was sad with broken bits and some black rot on the ceiling - the water pressure was low in the morning - otherwise acceptable. The impression was a 1970's Hotel up graded to fit the 2010's but arriving at the mid1980's. The price at 95Euro was, we thought high for this hotel - 55Euro would have been right however its proximity to Portofino may account for the price. The Genova boatshow was starting the night we stayed thus this was the only Hotel under 350 euros available.
location comfort in the room and breakfest
Excellent location near the beach. Wide room with a lot of space. A bit difficult to find. Getting a parking space was a bit of a challenge
View... And price for the one night stay. Parking. The hotel is some 3 kilometres from the town. You only can drive there from the hotel, no chance to get anywhere by walk. Beaches are not very much pleasant to visit. We hardly could sleep at night as the windows seems like do not provide any protection from noise from the road.
Having the room just above the kitchen. - And as for most hotels single rooms are just too expensive
sea view Kitchen smells in the bedroom;drab and well worn furnishings; surly staff.
Sea View & parking Room was too noisy, shower was broken, towels were poor quality, breakfast was poor
Good location, nice view from the room.
I do not like this hotel at all. Churlish and rude personal and distasteful rooms. The beach - sorry sight.
The fact that it was close to the beach. The food of the restaurant was very good and the staff was friendly. We believe the services, the room and the hotel itself was not worth the money nor it's really a 4 star hotel. It needs mayor upgrading.
Good location, parking ok, staff carefull. Breakfast was poor, the hotel is not a 4 star hotel really.
The hotel was v ery well situated near the town centre and beach The hotel was a little out of date, and did not seem to be 4star standard
I realy liked people who work in the hotel. They are very friendly. But only two of them speak English. The hotel is good lockated, just near the see and in two minutes wirking to the town centre. I would like to have more diferensiated breakfast with more fruits and cheese. As well in the night is impossible to order tee to the room. You have to go to the bar and take it your self.
Very good location for 1 night stay during car journey fron France to Italy. We booked paid parking but were provided by groung parking on hotel territory free of charge! Frendly hotel staff on reception reccomended us good restaurant for late night dinner nearby.
Location, parking, comfort of room, friendly and efficient staff.
Very helpful staff, smooth check-in/out, early breakfast to meet our needs to get back on the road early. Good value for money. Dog was allowed in the room with no problem. Close to highway, easily accessible, but also next to road and train as well. Cleanliness and quality of the room is average, we only stayed for 1 night so was no issue for us, but can be if you are planning to stay longer.
As above Insuficient Staff
Close to the beach and the reception staff we excellent A little far from town and shopping. Resteraunt not open on the weekends
The staff was very hekpful The beds were very hard...new, clean but very firm.
Hotel is next to the petrol station, the beach is dirty, close to a factory, huge tanker boats in the coast. A frequent railway traffic just behind the hotel (even at night).
The staff was friendly and the room was nice. It had a/c which was nice during the summer. The view of the run down gas station was not the best.
Location was near train station
The hotel staff was very helpful and provided us with directions and called for taxis when needed.
Location. Kindness. Confort. Breakfast
almost everything small parking in front of hotel, other parking a bit far
faux 'oil' paintings hung at random heights throughout are singularly awful. music in all public areas is obtrusive
Plus / friendliness staff, pool area, room comfort Minus / breakfast quality
Qiuet, very nice rooms, one of the reception ladies was very helpful. The warm Jacuzzi was nice The free wireless internet connection supplied through a 3G router was terrible. But at least it was free
Fab hotel, massive room, good restaurant, friendly staff, quiet. No complaints
Friendly staff, excellent room and wonderful restaurant.
easy car parking, family friend
Regular hotel with regular services
Rooms were like small suites with a private parking space. The attached restaurant "La Bucca" was excellent. The advertised swimming pool was under reconstruction when we were there.
The restaurant is excellent - but seems to be independent from the hotel. The heating is controlled from reception, which means that the room was often cold.
It was a pleasant time to be there.
Room was spacious Unfriendly staff, bathroom needed an upgrade, room service not available because the restaurant/kitchen staff were too busy with private functions.
The room was large and comfortable with a small porch to sit on which was nice. The bathroom was very small and cramped. Maybe the room could be a bit smaller to enlarge the bathroom.
clean quiet comfortable
The air condition system was broken. Huge implications for comfort and sleep
superb restaurant next door, clean & nice rooms, easy parking near the room door, easy-to-find location breakfast is not included and costs 5 euro perperson - though, very poor.
Location is very nice with own beach
I like the Beach and the Seaside during our stay. nothing
The beach, pool, very helpful staff (especially the manager), good food with a variety of dining options in the evening including the 'beach' bar and sushi options (excellent). When we arrived (midweek) we were informed of a late night concert, which went on till 12:30. We were offered reduced rate, however we declined as we had been travelling all day and just wanted a quiet restful evening, however the rest of the stay made up for our initial disappointment.
Practical hotel with private beach. Cheap Wi-Fi connection, 3€/24hr. Parking free outside.
The reception staff were very kind and helpful. The room service staff was not happy when I forget to mention the milk to my caffee and he had to come back twice.
Location , beach, parking, room, see view, staff, breakfast. Restaurant - exellent food but too expensive for the beach hotel. Hotel is a little bit far from Savona city center and port. No food available after 4 P.M. Many wendor people on the beach offering unnecessary goods
Location on sea side, room spacious, great bathroom very good breakfast buffet, nice pool area, good beach amminites. no
very nice hotel 20 m from sea, fantastic restaurant, dinner prices high, but taste cover the price.
very friendly staff, very helpful
The beach, breakfast and staff friendlyness Organisation of buffet at the evening
All staff were friendly, helpful and always ready to help. With a baby we needed boiling water on occasion (as there were no water cookers in the room) and this was given to us by staff at any hour with a smile. Excellent! The central location and room service/restaurant were very good quality for the money and we would go again anytime. We were dissapointed about the baths as with a name- terme- you associate thermal baths of course. we did not make it to the public baths next door but suspect that these were the actual thermal baths we were hoping to see. good marketing though. facilities were simple but in good shape however.
Great choice of breakfast Wi-fi only available in the hall
Room was very small, airco did not work, matrass was old and worn. Hotel is clearly past its prime and needs serious money to bring it up to standard. As we only stayed, we did not use the spa, hence, these might be of better standard.
The spa facilities were very nice and our skin felt great after the thermal springs. The beds were very hard (and we like a very firm mattress!)
Extreme high and extra charges for using pool and sauna
I have stayed there before and this was the cheapest i have stayed for i will use you agian. I have bought a house in the area so will be going again soon.
Professional staff, excellent breakfast, great central location
efficiency, location would not consider it "comfy" or "charming"
It is not common in other spa hotels to charge for using the pool while you are staying there. When I went through the hotel website it was said that the pool is included and it was one of the main reasons for us to chose the hotel. The staff seemed indifferent and tired comparing to other hotels in italy and we've been in quite a lot of places in italy.
Grand decor, great position, nice and quiet, good breakfast. Bar closed very early,or not open at all, evening meals inferior to local restaurants, bed hard, extra charge for pool not clear until you use which is expensive unless you spend a few hours in there. With just a bit more attention to detail this would be a fantastic hotel
Free parking, quiet location within walking distance to the city centre.
Pleasant staff. Modern, clean hotel with comfortable rooms Main entrance covered in snow and ice. Not cleared or gritted even though there were more staff than guests!
Very friendly owner who provides customised services and takes care of your individual needs, special nutrition and habits. I definitely recommend this hotel.
hospitality of the staff 1) poor breakfast and quality of meal in general; 2) too noisy at night time (because of many junior sportsmen).
good - we were there for one night for a family visit and foünd the hotel to be very satisfactory
Newly remodeled hotel. Comfortable, spacious, well-lighted room. I loved the little balconi overlooking the green hill facing my room. Very pleasant and efficient staff as well as management. I was very pleased with the quality service and attention I received.I felt at home at Hotel Valentino.
Cost of the room 80 degrees F (27C) outside on June 1st but the Hotel do not switch on the air conditioning in the rooms until July 1st! Breakfast was poor in the quality and variety of food on offer.
Low price, clean rooms, good parking possibilities Terrible breakfast, poor food in general, unfriendly staff, no wireless Internet connection although web page promised this
Staff friendly Lack of heating. Very restricted restaurant mene
large rooms, comfortable bed, had a garage, clean sheets and towels, breakfast went on until midday, cheapest hotel in the area rooms were not that clean (lots of dead bugs everywhere and tables weren't clean) and breakfast was awful (hardly any choice, all stale, any cooked food was extra)
Room was fine but no restaurant and water in shower was cold at all times due to plumbing problem. No discount was even offered for the inconvenience.
Lovely hotel with friendly and welcoming atmosphere, and a very nice pool area. I had to cut my trip short and hotel staff were most understanding and helpful in this matter. Excellent location near central station and very close to town and beach. A/C was a bit noisy off and on, but worked well.
staff was very helpfull and understanding with my family of 5 hard to find
Not much really. If something, the LCD TV and the Internet point in the lobby. Rooms are very small with old furniture. Similar to rooms of 1-star hotels. Location is shady - just next to the railroad and a good 7-8 min walk to the city and the beach. Staff handles breakfast and reception at the same time. Parking is 50 m away and costs 5 Euro. If you truly have to be in Varazze, please consider another option.
Pleasant manner of staff. Decor and fittings rather dated and have seen better days, in need of refurbishment throughout. Lists of do's and don'ts can and can't do all over. Eg, cant eat or drink in room, (restaraunt not open evening during our visit) cant use pool at certain times, not a picnic area etc.
Nice, quiet and pleasent atmosphare
A good family hotel, the pool was particularly nice for the kids as the beaches were rather overcrowded. The building wirk opposite was a bit noisy as were the trains from the station. But it was in a convenient position in the town.
The staff and the big dog.
Nice staff, good breakfasts Bathrooms very cramped - they really should not have bidets.
We had problerms upon arrival , since the hotel did not offer asssitance with the lugagees, and there are big, lengh stairs to reach the lobby, and my parents are seniors above 80 yrs. The receptionist could have beign more friendly, flexible and ehlped in some way...
